Much faster than any other option. Sara and Manesh were excellent at explaining everything and made a great team. Thanks!
The tour guide Rachele was great. The Sistine chapel was beautiful. The Vatican museum was very busy with sooooo many people. It was very hot and too crowded to enjoy it.
Skip the Line tickets were great. We were told to look for a white umbrella, and we found our guide immediately. Looking at other people waiting in line for tickets, we were grateful to have skipped the line. Once the door is open at nine, we were in within 10 minutes. Our guide gave us a very quick overview, and it was perfect. We did not get a guided tour, as we wanted to explore on our own. I would highly recommend.
This tour is nice for those who enjoy museums. However it was unbelievably crowded especially going to the sistine chapel, which you have to walk through 8 long corridors with hundreds of people to get to it. It was nice to see as a 1st time visitor, but I wouldn't go again.
It's not so much of a tour as it is someone guiding you into the doors of the Vatican museum. This is what we were looking for. Watch for pickposkets! My dad had his wallet stolen inside the Sistine chapel. However, that was no fault of the tour provider/guide
If you like religious things this is for you. Tour guide was very good! Super sweet lady. You do it in your own pace.
I overpaid for the experience. I paid $125 US dollars for two tickets that cost 50 Euros ( or $57 US $). I was told it was a skip the line admittance and what happened is that the tour operator would take one or two People to the line and ask those waiting if we could get in front of them. I could have spent less and had the same experience. I could have also waited in the line because operator kept me waiting at the meeting point.
Great company to pre book with, the lovely young lady was on time very helpful. Recommend 100%.thank you so very muchxx
The your company representative was at the spot earlier than 445 pm. She explained to us about the best way to go around the museum. She made rhe security line process easy, which can be somewhat caotic when people are figuring out the lines.
The Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel consists of XXl (21) beautiful, large rooms. Not air conditioned. We moved quickly though the throngs of guided tours. Bring a Rick Steves narration as you walk thru at your pace. Don’t do any Viator guided tours. You are a transaction and tick mark for Viator.
This was convenient and absolutely necessary for us in order to tour the Vatican Museums. I highly recommend to those who don’t want to wait in a long line. We enjoyed being able to explore the Vatican on our own without being in a group.
The guide to get us in line was friendly and arrived early. It took 20 minutes to get into the museum so we still waited in line. The museum was crowded and hot but beautiful with rich history.
It was really gorgeous. The girls were so helpful and welcoming. They gave good advice and I would recommend to others for sure.
Our Tour person her name was Sara. She did the best she could. We still had to wait in line for a bit.
This was a great tour. Our guide was clearly passionate about the artistry and history of the Vatican. Would absolutely do this again.
Given the summer crowds and heat, just being able to skip the line was worth the experience alone but we really appreciated our guide Rachel’s friendliness, professionalism and knowledge escorting us in to the Vatican Museum. And then of course seeing the Sistine Chapel and Basilica was awesome! Great overall experience!
Be patient if you arrive earlier than the 15 minute mark. Someone will show. The meet up point is in front of the hotel 98.
It was a go at your own pace tour which we preferred. Headsets were very informative. Our tour guide lead us in . Skip the line was great!
This tour is simply buy the tickets and meet at a point and they will take you into the Vatican museum. It worked fine. I'm not sure I would recommend the Vatican tour anymore. you go in to the museum and are forced to follow a line of tourists throughout the museum. You cannot get to the Sistine chapel unless you follow the line. It is overcrowded, hot, and very slow. You go in and out the same door and never see St.Peter's square. If you have any mobility issues this is not the tour for you. We ran out of time and energy and just drove past the basilica and the square. This is our third time at the Vatican I found this new process very tedious.
Sara M. was our guide and she was such a delight! She answered our questions thoroughly and you can tell she cares about what she does. Made our Vatican experience seamless. Highly recommended!
Easy to find "white umbrella" the tour staff were friendly.entry took about 10 minutes as there were MANY groups tours in the skips the line area. I recommend the 9am entry, as it was 95° that early in the morning.
Watch for scammers everywhere in Rome. A guy in a viator shirt tried to tell us we had missed our time and needed to buy tickets from him. Obviously the vatican is incredible, climb the cupola if you can.
The tour company messed up the tickets, so my kids went through security, but we were forced to wait outside in the hot sun for 10-15 minutes until they got things straightened out. The kids were scared, because the guards wouldn’t let them come back through to stand with us. Then once we finally all got inside, my ticket was still messed up and it took forever to get through the last security check.
Unfortunately when I booked I didn’t realize it was self guided. There is not much to review. The young women who assisted us to the entrance was quite nice and completed her task efficiently.
What an amazing museum. Be prepared to walk walk walk! There is so much to see. While you need to dress modestly, it is not required throughout the museum long shorts to the knee and a t-shirt are enough to satisfy. Many ladies had a tank top and put a wrap/shall over their shoulders to meet the requirements. If you go to the sistine chappel, be aware photos aren't allowed inside, your timed in it and it is not a straight line, it is a long walk. We did St Peter's the same day, they are two different non-connected entrances. The timed tickets and the guide made entry MUCH MUCH easier. The guides were pleasant, helpful and informative.
The skip the line was great! But its A LOT of people. Be prepared for the heat and crowds and all the rules.
Sara our Skip the Line guide was professional, friendly, approachable. A PLUS!. This is all you need for your Vatican museums visit. Do not join a tour group - they're slow and crowded. Just get the Skip the Line tickets and go at your own pace. One thing to know is that she will be standing curbside with an umbrella with your STL Tickets, not inside any building Also the Vatican museums has an excellent food court.
Easy to meet up with the guide and he helped get us in quickly and told us what to do. We did not have a guide just skip the line tickets.
As first-time travelers to Italy, my wife and I were a bit nervous about navigating such a busy system. However, the 1CityTours team made the entire experience incredibly easy. They were easy to locate, friendly, and very helpful. We purchased the skip-the-line tickets without an audio tour and instead used the free Rick Steves audio guides for the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica, a combination I highly recommend! The 1CityTours team guided us smoothly through the crowds and security, answering all of our questions along the way. I would absolutely recommend this team.
Overall, it was a really great experience and it was really nice not to have to be a part of a tour, mainly because all the tours were no less than four hours….. and often all the tours would cluster together in a very small room. It was very overstimulating, so it was really nice to be able to just walk away and move on when we wanted to. Also, the Vatican itself has headphones and information about the place for purchase to go through the museum if you would rather that than a tour. Little disappointed by the disorganization as far as how many different tour groups and how many different lines that were clustered around the area to get in. The meeting area was not very specific at all, so we almost missed our time slot because all of the tour companies were all clustered together on the same side of the street that the meeting location was said to be. But overall, the experience itself was really incredible and is a must see,
Extremely hard to find the meeting point as its a young man with an umbrella who disappears so you are left to be told to wait for him to come back. The museum was good but there is alot of walking for the amount you actually see.
No issues at the meeting point. Smooth entry into the museum. Had to wait a little to get in but no issues. Would purchase again.
This is a awesome Trip we had a great time well arranged. Staff were great and very friendly and supportive.
Great, easy skip the line tickets! Easy to find host and skip the line worked perfectly ! Would definitely use again!
The tour guide was the best! I had forgotten to switch my mom's name with my niece's name when my mom couldn't come on the trip due to her health. He spoke with a very nice lady at the check-in point who let my niece in with me to buy a ticket instead of making her wait outside in an extremely long line. I highly recommend this excursion.
It is over 3 miles of walking until there is a bathroom and water refill. Men have to cover their knees in the Sistine Chapel.
The line was very Quick. There is no guide or audio. Tou have to wait for the company to give you the entries 15 min before your entry time.
Tour guide was easy to find and helpful getting us into the Vatican Museum very quickly. But after that we were on our own. So a bit disappointed. Took a while to get our bearings. Took over an hour to traverse the Museum to finally get to the Sistine Chapel. My suggestion. Create a tour that is a “Super EXPRESS Tour.” Takes you directly to just the Sistine Chapel. See the frescos and in and out. Fast and easy. Absolutely NO ONE follows the rules about women attire or photographs. Shameful.
Such a great way to spend less time in line and more time inside the Vatican. Our guide stayed with us until we got inside and told us what would happen at each security checkpoint. He gave us a map of the inside and set us free! Great way to do this, made it very easy.
Great to have a ‘skip the line’ tickets. Going through the Vatican is like following an IKEA store. Too crowded and too hot…recommend going early to avoid the queues and crowds
Very crowded. Lots of walking through all rooms to get to Sistine Chapel. No pictures allowed in Sistine Chapel so hundreds in center of floor staring up without moving
Beautiful, did with a 9yr old and teens. Lots of walking and it was very warm in the rooms. Lots of walking make sure you are in good shape. You walk for 2 hours straight.
Excellent service easy access to your Guide David met us on time and was very informative and had excellent information
The museum has an amazing collection of treasures, but wayfinding is poor and most exhibits have little signage to identify them, so it's an oooh-aaah experience with less educational value than I was hoping for. An experience with a guide might have been better.
I would recommend taking the time to have a guided tour if you’d like more information about the Vatican.
Just line up and save yourself 100 dollars. All they do is walk you inside, you'll already be showing up early to find the guide anyway. Go stand in line instead.
Just bought skip the line tickets but the tour rep brought us all the way in before leaving us to tour on our own. Loved it!
Highly overprices, just buy the ticket straight from the official site, its cheaper with the same experience
Guide got us into museum, we could get audio guide or not abd fo at our own pace which we prefer. Disappointing you have to completely leave museum and walk outside the wall to get around to St Peter's and very long lines, but that is nit Victor's fault. We chose to skip and return to Basicilica early, 7am to skip heat and lines.
