Very good service. Fast, reliable, and trustworthy! We were welcomed by Alessandra, who was extremely helpful and friendly. She gave us great advice on the most important and valuable things to see inside the museum. She also recommended some nearby restaurants and activities, which made our visit even better. Highly recommended!

Itinerary
Start your experience by meeting your host or, if included, your expert tour guide, who will provide your skip-the-line tickets and help you access the Vatican Museums. For guided options, headsets are included for clear commentary as you explore some of the museum’s most celebrated highlights, from the Pinecone Courtyard to the Pio-Clementino Museum and the stunning Vatican Galleries. Your guide will bring the collections to life with stories and insights along the way. If you select the ticket-only option, your host will escort you to the entrance and you will then visit the museums independently.
Discover the Cortile della Pigna, a striking open-air courtyard named after its monumental bronze pinecone.
Discover the Pio Clementino Museum, home to the celebrated Laocoön masterpiece, whose dramatic beauty is said to have inspired Michelangelo.
Visit the Gregorian Etruscan Museum and explore a fascinating collection of artifacts that reveal the rich history and culture of the ancient Etruscan civilization. Please note that this section is not always included in the Guided Tour option, as the itinerary may vary depending on the visitor flow inside the Museums.
Uncover the Gallery of Maps, a remarkable Vatican gallery decorated with richly detailed frescoed maps that celebrate the geography and beauty of Italy, along with other iconic sections such as the Gallery of Candelabra and the Gallery of Tapestries.
Admire the Raphael Rooms, a series of extraordinary frescoed chambers renowned for their beauty and for masterpieces such as The School of Athens, one of Raphael’s most celebrated works. Please note that this section is not always included in the Guided Tour option, as the itinerary may vary depending on the visitor flow inside the Museums.
Your experience continues with a visit to the Sistine Chapel, one of the world’s most famous and awe-inspiring landmarks. Marvel at Michelangelo’s extraordinary frescoes, from the Creation of Adam to the dramatic Last Judgment, and take in the beauty and significance of this sacred space. As the chapel is a place of worship, silence and respectful behavior are required during the visit. Seeing it in person is a truly unforgettable highlight of any Vatican experience.

Fred was a fantastic guide; he was witty and friendly.
Frederico was a fantastic guide. He was very knowledgeable and gave us a great tour despite the crowds. The Vatican Museums were fascinating. It is thrilling to see the Sistine chapel, the Piéta, and the Bernini altar columns whether you are a Catholic or not.
Alessio our guide was exceptional, he gave the information before our time in the Vatican museums really clearly and with humour. He made everyone feel welcome and chatted to all members of the group, a proper guide who is excellent at his job. Well done Alessio!
The tour itself was good and convenient. Our tour guide was fluent in English but was very difficult to understand. He seemed knowledgeable and passionate about history but sadly not many of us could understand what he was saying for the whole 2.5 hrs.
Great tour. Claudia was really good
This was the highlight of my trip to Rome. It was so well organised, Laetitia, our trip guide from Inside Out was so knowledgeable, charismatic and humorous! I loved hearing the stories about Michelangelo! The two hours passed so quickly. She much to take in.
It was a wonderful experience with Alessio As our guide, he was friendly and helpful.
Alessio is outstanding! Good energy, beautiful smile and expert level knowledge👍🏾
Skip the line is complete rubbish. We waited in a queue for over an hour. The whole of the square is complete mayhem with little or no useful signage. No staff or information booth to ask for help. Get there two hours in advance if you want to ensure you get in at the reserved time once you find the right queue . The museum is amazing but huge and getting to the Sistine Chapel is exhausting
Claudia our guide was fantastic.
Awesome! My. Wife and I loved it, Sarah did great! Have waited my entire life to go and it did not disappoint.
Luckily we booked a skip the line ticket, this helped us enormously with queuing only took about 15 minutes to get in. There were queues and more queues waiting. It was long slog to get through the whole experince. However, it was a bit too long and lots of stairs, so if you are slightly immobile it's tricky. Some of the experience was wow, but others not so. It's a bit like IKEA you have to walk around places you would rather skip. But there are no shortcuts, you have to visit each room to get to the end point, which is the Sistine chapel. You are hearded about a bit, shuffling in large crowds. I'm glad I did it, but I found the crowds too much at times, cramped and hot on the way to the chapel. Other places were spacious. You are allowed to spend 30 minutes in the chapel, we were there for about 5 minutes as it was far too crowded and staff moving you through.
You need to know this: the voucher you download is NOT the ticket. Viator should - must - let their customers know where to go to convert the voucher into the ticket. It is very important!!!!! If you just try to show up at the “skip the line” location they would surely turn you away and tell you That without a ticket they cannot let you in. That would be frustrating for any traveler. The reason I gave it five stars is that I was able to figure out which tour guide actually had my ticket, I looked up the address all by myself, and was able to use Apple Maps to find it. Other people are surely not that lucky. And once there, I genuinely thought this was one of the memorable experiences in my life. The guide who got us into the museum was polite and very caring and considerate. The museum was SPECTACULAR!
Easy meet up point. Small seating area so if you arrive early you will likely have to stand while waiting for others. Guide was excellent as he walked us through the skip the line queue which was a much shorter line than those without tickets. He walked us in & provided excellent instructions for us to view the museum on our own. Very crowded- the museum needs to better control entry. Recommend if you prefer to self tour as we did- basically you are paying to bypass the massive queue.
Letizia was awesome! She took the time to explain everything, answered questions. What was fabulous was that she made sure we were all together & didnt get lost. Fantastix excursion
Leticia was great guide. Thank you for the great tour!
The guide is great. The place is too full - bordering on dangerous - too many people- cant take pictures - battle to push through from one side of crowd to another
The communication regarding the time to arrive and check in for the tour was inadequate. Upon our arrival, we were instructed to return 15 minutes prior to the scheduled tour time. However, we encountered numerous individuals standing in a congested area, with limited seating and inaccessible restrooms. Despite the tour being conducted in English, our guide’s English proficiency was insufficient, hindering our comprehension of the tour’s content. The total tour duration was approximately two hours, and attendees should anticipate encountering a large number of people throughout the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and extensive walking. Ultimately, the experience felt rushed and disorganized.
Maria Letezia was very informative, funny and succeed. There is a lot to get through in the limited amount of time you are in the museum. I highly recommend studying what you might like to see ahead of time. The Sistine Chapel while beautiful was underwhelming. It was supposed to be silent, but there are lots of people talking, and even though we went at the end of September, it was packed. Very difficult to relax and see the artwork because of all the noise.
We had a great guide named Fred. He is an archaeologist and gave so much information. He was funny and very thorough. Highly recommend. Great experience.
We had booked the 8am tour, and it was cancelled and we were moved to 9:30am. We were very nervous about the lines getting in, but they moved quite swiftly. Our ticket included entrance but not tour guide through the museum so we purchased audio system when in the museum. Very helpful at 8EU pp. The crowds at this time were a lot. Unsure of how they would have been earlier. all in all a nice experience. So much to see.
Our guide Alessio was so gracious and helpful.
I didn’t know what to expect of The Vatican Museum. The art inside is beautiful, and I couldn’t have appreciated it so well without our English-speaking guide who escorted us in all the way to Sistine Chapel. It was nice to avoid the long intimidating lines when you approach the walls of Vatican City! Tour was a little pricey.
Our guide was amazing and very helpful! She offered helpful tips for our visit. I highly recommend.!
Really wonderful early morning tour. Definitely sign up for the 8 am. It only gets busier as the day goes on. Very informative. So much to see!
Experience was great, couldn’t recommend it more. Highly advise for anyone
Very long for me but so insightful! Gabriel was so great!
Very interesting. There are a lot of stairs. Beautiful artwork and nice outdoor space. Very popular museum.
We had a person with a cane in the group and after going up a flight of stairs the rest of the group was gone. We missed out on getting the ear buds talking tour guide so we toured the place on our own. It is what it is.
Verrrry expensive. Feel like it could be cheaper elsewhere. Great experience Would recommend having a tour guide to take you round.
Cloudia was a fantastic tour guide. However it definitely felt like we were skipping a lot of details. We weren't aware that the basilica was not included in the tour...but apparently everyone else was as we were the only group that didn't. You would think that it would have been offered as an upgrade when we checked in, but it wasn't.
We had a great experience We had such a wonderful experience touring the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica! Alex was an amazing guide so knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to listen to. He explained everything so well and made the history come alive. We especially loved his sense of humor, which made the tour even more enjoyable. Thank you, Alex, for making our visit so memorable!
Very nice tour. Fred was great guide as well.
Guide was excellent and very knowledgeable! Got through everything in a timely manner and was very helpful with questions.
This is the way to go! So kind, so organic! ALEX IS AN AMAZING guide. The tourism is large here, it will be crowded in peak times but Alex was so wonderful! We had rest & regroup water times. Cannot thank him enough for such a wonderful experience! Truly amazing.
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, despite the crowds. Our tour host Alessio from Inside Out Italy was exceptional. The skip the queue pass is well worth it. We were inside and on our way within 15 minutes. Alessio guided us smoothly through the process with humour and kindness, making this a fun and pleasurable experience.
Great tour! Alex was amazing, professional and very knowledgeable and provided clear explanations.
Try to book your own tickets. Overpaid escort to get you in. Not really sure it’s worth it. Had to do it because tickets through the Vatican were sold out.
Great Experience with Lainab! Everything was perfect!
Great tour of the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica! Special thanks to our guide Fred – knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Jessi was so sweet! Booking and checking in was extremely easy!!
Jessi was amazing and helped us a lot with a messed up booking!!
Andrea was the best and peakest guide i’ve ever had
Our guide was Alessio. He showed us around very quickly and efficiently. He was a very nice guy. I highly recommend him.
They charge you 3x the price of the fast past tickets and entry. A $200 surcharge for a family of 4. They printed my tickets with the price. Was 80 euros which is $130cad. They charged me $350. No additional services warrant this price and we didnt even get the do it yourself guide youd get if you purchased tickets directly. Instead they tell you to download an app when u arrive...but if u didnt bring headphones your out of luck. No they didn't advise to bring in advance
Andrea our tour guide was a star! We had a disabled member in our group and he treated them with such dignity and respect whilst ensuring they got the best experience. He was such a great character and really made our experience.
Perfection with Zeinab she was lovely.
We met a tour guide and skipped the line and were walked right into the building and left us there to roam as we wish. Audio devices are available for rent however, if the Sistine chapel is all you want it do then walking through the museum is a must, since each room lends to the next and the Sistine Chapel is at the end. FYI This ticket doesn’t include the St. Peter’s Basilica ( which is free) but skip the line pass is needed to enter the church. Without the pass the line is an a 2 hr wait. This must be purchased on site at a tent outside the the basilica. Best excursion of the trip!.
Alessio was perfect!! Great hype man, kept spirits high, genuinely hilarious. Would 10/10 book again.
