Couldn’t find the location to pick up the ticket so that we could gain entry so it was a complete waste. We use Google maps and walk to the location which was a couple blocks away from the Sistine Chapel, but never could find the office so it was a waste of money.
We collected the tickets from the travel agency waited in line for the group of 16:30. We waited around 20 minutes. If you pick that time 16:30 there is no time after for the basilica of San Pedro. All staff were very friendly.
I was given entrance tickets with the incorrect date which was one day too late. It was raining heavy and still had to line up to get in. Finally the front guard allowed us to enter the facility and we had to buy new tickets with the correct date.
There was no guide at all for this. I thought there was because of the price. Make sure you have a personal guide when you book one. This was expensive for no guide!
The staff at the ticket pickup site were so friendly and kind. They were very helpful! The tour was just as advertised.
Costly, confusing directions. Poor communication. Took more time than just waiting in line. Would not recommend this company.
Easy to pick up tickets and line up at front entrance. Lots to see. Bring really comfortable walking shoes, water bottle and a hand held fan as many rooms without air conditioning.
Easy to navigate to the meeting point and through security. The museum is crowded and it made the day a bit easier.
Skip the like is expensive but needed as there is an extremely hot season in Rome. Our schedule time was changed slightly . The tickets were sent as PDF files to the Mobile . They could not be scanned but we have to run to the Office and print them. Otherwise it was excellent
Great way to skip the long lines and see Vatican and the Sistine Chapel at our leisure, not locked into a tour. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful experience. We saw most of the art available. The Sistine Chapel was magnificent.
Do not do this. It’s a scam. You are better off booking through the website official website. We were charged 150 Euro and our friends bought the same ticket for 50 Euro and we all went in together
Thank goodness I booked this. The queues were unbelievable but I was able to walk straight in. Phew!!
I wrote to find out at what time the meeting point was and did not get an answer. When I arrived at the meeting point, the gentleman behind the desk told me they were very busy which is why they didn’t answer. I do not find this to be a justifiable excuse.
Absolutely terrible experience with this mob. We had booked 4 tickets months in advance and were attending the evening tour starting at 5pm We were already walking up to the Vatican from our central hotel location when i happened to check my emails and I had a message saying our booking was cancelled. Due to a “political event” this was a lie as the political event was the previous day. (I also confirmed this with the ticket office at the Vatican. Decided to go to the booking office at via Germanico and they were busy closing up the shop said it was a technical fault and they would refund me. They Told me it’d only be a 20min wait in the queue which I stood in for an hour without it moving. Really bad experience and they sell under the company “ Get The Guide “who I also contacted and were hopeless. I’d Use another company if I were you.
We showed up for our tour of the Vatican at 8:30, and the “tour center” was just one guy behind a counter telling everyone that the tour has been delayed until 9:30 and to come back then. We asked him if the 9:30 time was guaranteed and he said “80 percent”. We then talked to the other people there and some of them mentioned a pretty common scam where tours will make you come back at a later time just to say that you were late for your tour and refuse a refund. Hearing this, we demanded a full refund which they begrudgingly gave (to be processed in 3-5 days, we will see if it’s real or not). We then had to wait in the 3 hour unticketed Vatican entry line. Never ever use this tour site! The Vatican is great though!
I booked this experience in advance so I should have had a ticket in advance for a skip the line like I paid for. I get to the location and told there is no 8:30am slot which I paid for. I don't understand because the ticket should have been in advance. When I asked for my ticket the man at the front desk said it's not available, come back at 9:40am which does not make any sense. If you're going to book for tickets DO NOT USE THIS VENDOR. They are not honest people.
We had a delightful tour with our guide Amil (Amy) who had a wonderful sense of humor and made things come alive for us. This tour was by far the best of three similar tours I have had at the Vatican over several years. I learned at the end of our tour that Amy was actually not feeling up to par, but it was not evident in her presentation. Side note: we nearly melted in the heat.
Vatican and sistine chapel was great a little long in general and hot in the summer days but definitely recommended. For this to be just a ticket to "skip the line" it cost double the original price of 25 euro per person. You can also buy the tickets with the original website instead of this ticket.
It is easy to pick up the tickets. It is a 5 minute walk from the ticket office to the museum and you can show up 15 min before your timed entry at the museum. Paying three times the list price is a bit steep but it was the only way to get tickets as all dates were sold out for months
After paying a good amount for 2 tickets to the Vatican museum and Sistine Chapel, we were disappointed when Vatican security reprimanded us for trying to scan a “false” ticket. We were told the ticket had already been scanned that day, and that ours were fake. We had to then buy more museum tickets, as ours were not real, and then we were able to enter. When we returned to the vendor’s storefront to tell them about this issue, we were accused of lying and did not get our money back for the fake ticket. The ticket company neglected to take ownership of this mistake, blaming it on the Vatican, which we found incredibly hard to believe. From the other reviews, it seems this is not the first time something of this nature has occurred. Would not recommend.
Skip the line- nothing of the sort. 30minutes to get in and then mandatory Museum tour to get the the Sistine chapel. 2 hours. Which was overwhelmingly amazing Looks for “ship “ skip the line tickets.
Mario, our tour guide was very engaging, knowledgeable and interacted with all of the participants on the tour. He didn’t just show us the art, but he helped us see the story and how one thing evolved to the next. Saw Michael Angelo and The David in a whole new light!
Sistine chapel Using Viator was a waste of money. Go on your own!! You will save money and have a better time.
Was under the impression this was a tour. Turned out just to be very expensive skip the line tickets. Very disappointed. Better off lining up and doing your own thing anyway. Or skipping it altogether.
The third party that you use are beyond awful. Not allowed to get tickets until 10 minutes before the time your booked in. This is fine maybe if you have no disabilities. They gave us the wrong time on the tickets so we had to wait even longer. Not impressed at all.
It was so easy to just walk through the Skip-the-line. We enjoyed not having a guide for us. We purchased the ear phones there that we could match with a number and play the information. It was perfect.
Really good time with lots to see, learn and look at. Only downside was how hot it was as the museum and chapel were so busy.
Roman Tours- awful customer service! On the ticket, it says to collect prior to entry time. We showed up an hour before given time of 12pm expecting to collect tickets. We were told to come back just before 12. We went back at 11.50, and was then told to wait until 12.15/12.20. I expressed concern as ticket says it was only valid at selected time of 12pm. Employee laughed and said not to worry. We waited for a further 30 mins and after someone else collected tickets, I collected ours. The customer service was awful. I told them that we paid for entry at 12, but he kept saying 12.30. I showed him my ticket and he was very rude to me and ignored my concerns. We had other things booked in the afternoon and this delayed us further. We then realised complaining was getting us no where as they were so rude and unsympathetic to it messing up our day. We were laughed at. After collecting the tickets, we were not given any directions to where to join the skip the line queue or any further help. You can buy the skip the line tickets directly from the Vatican for less than half the price I paid. Very poor service and would not recommend.
Boy were we glad we had purchased skip the line tickets! Queues outside were massive! Collected the tickets and were partially showed where to go, did have to work part out ourselves as were told to turn left and show ticket to the guard, but there are 3 different queues. We had a 11am ticket and the place was wall to wall in some areas so was difficult to navigate and felt we skipped some parts as it was too crowded. We did purchase the audio at €8 and are given a map, which is next to useless for the map, but the audio was great, just key in the numbers at certain times. We did end up missing the gardens and at peters square as we had already been there for over 3 hours and had been cattle herded in a certain direction. This is not one for those with walking difficulties unless you have a wheelchair as these are permitted.
Meeting place was easy to find, guide explained things well. Saint Peter’s Basilica was not included (we knew this, but make sure you know what’s included) and there was a very long line. Would do again and/or recommend
Fast Access to Vatican museum. This was our last option to find tickets the previous day to visit Rome. Visit to sixtine chapel is a must.
Of course the Vatican is amazing but the tour guide didn’t add anything. The meeting place was hard to find and the guide just took us to the entrance and dropped us off without any commentary
The ability to tour at your own pace is priceless. We skipped the line which was very important to us
Ticket and communications are confusing. Ticket time is 20 mins before appointment time, not the appointment time. So if you have an itinerary this may not be great. The skip line is great. The museum and Chapel impressive. We were glad not to have booked a guided tour so that we could linger at the things interesting to us and skip or glance the other items.
Inside Vatican city is eye opening and enlightening although very commercialised. Paying for 'skipping the line' is worthwhile and obviously reduced wait times. However our 'guide' didn't exactly hang around and wait for people whilst guiding us up to Vatican city and into the entrance. It seemed if he lost you on the way, it didn't matter! Obviously it wasn't always easy to keep up considering the sheer volume of people and traffic
We arrived at the designated meeting point 25 minutes early, as requested. The employee rudely told us to leave and come back at the booked time. I got a Whatsapp call 5 minutes before the booked time (from a different employee), saying we are late and asking if we are coming! Choose a different skip the line ticket, NOT Rome Tours.
The tour was great while the guide was with us we were supposed to go through the Colosseum the form and one other place she did great. Walking Hurst is a Colosseum then she told her she had another tour in 15 minutes quickly told us what we should do then left us.
The guide was great who recieved us, passed us our tickets and walked us to the entrance. Even with 'skip the line' we waited about 30 minutes. It moved fast! The museum is massive, utterly MASSIVE. Can't wait to go back and explore more, we only got about 1/4 way through in 3 hours and didn't stop at everything.
Completely self guided we picked up our tickets then walked as a group to the Vatican entrance from there it was a self guided tour. Make sure to wear clothing that covers your knees and shoulders in order to enter the Sistine Chapel. We did not know about this until we picked up our tickets.
I had a terrible experience. The Tour operator contacted me when I was en-route to the meeting spot. I was due to arrive with my wife by the agreed upon meeting time 12:15PM. The Tour operator told me the tour had been rescheduled to 30 minutes earlier, 11:45AM, and that I needed to be at the meeting spot immediately, which was impossible. He said he messaged me the night before which was not true. When I expressed disappointment, he had no empathy about ruining an important part of my vacation. When I asked for a refund he said to contact Viator and they would refund me. I contacted Viator and submitted a refund request and got a canned response indicating they would not refund me with no details about why. This tour operator and Viator robbed my money, under no circumstances would I recommend doing business with this tour operator or Viator.
Our guide got us in the door and then left us. No literature, map, headphones, nothing. We didn’t know what direction to go. Told us to meet again to get into forum and then left us there, as well.
Honestly, I felt ripped off by the “skip the crowd » advertisement for the visit, for which we paid 49€ per person. The moment we entered we were dumped by the company, he said here you are, these are your ticket’s , and on you go…. Alone. We paid far to much for entry, their weee literally thousands of people trying to get in (check on line to verify the numbers of visitors per day!) and I would seriously recommend that you not book your tickets via this kind of media. Sorry, Viator.
To skip the line was very very usefull because the line was too big and people have to wait so long to get into the museum
This was a perfect last minute find! We met the agent at the location right next to our Airbnb and he led us right to the front of the line, bypassing 2-3 hours of waiting. He filled us in on what to expect and left us to our own experience, which was perfect for 3 adults and 2 kids. Really appreciate the quick and easy way through the crowds.
Not the ticket sellers fault but the tour is a joke. The greed shown by the Vatican shows why people are fed up with religion more and more each year. You were packed in like sardines and shuffling along without a chance to view some places. When you get to the sistene chapel you are told to hurry along and not stop. So you have to try to take things in while being quickly ushered out. A complete joke and not worth going under these circumstances.
The whole booking and arrival went without hitches. Very pleased we found these tickets through Viator.
This was NOT a tour of any kind, nor was it in any way a Skip the Line experience. We waited at least 30 minutes just to get into the museum. Since we had been there previously, we felt less need for a guide but other people in our group were very unhappy and we all felt misled. After entering the museum, we were on our own with no guide or explanation. The map we were given was useless. Trip Advisor should be more careful to describe this as an Entry Only experience so no one would expect more than a ticket. As it is, this gave the false impression that there was more involved. Also, it was NOT a Skip the Line experience, which was also misleading. Very disappointed in Trip Advisor.
Easy and fast booking, quick check-in, but a bit pricy, definitely go for it if you want to skip the long queue.
