We did the skip the line without a guide and I am glad we did. While the guides we were very informative, the museum is so massive you could spend the entire day there trying to take it all in. If you do the tour without a guide, you can rent an audio guide from the Vatican for €8. We were there during the heatwave so the museum was extremely hot. We got our tickets sent to us so we were able to go straight to the gate. One thing you want to make sure of is be at the entrance at the time you select, if you are late the guards will make you go to the line and wait. Some people we waiting in line for almost 2 hours.

The museum collection is massive. Finding your way around can be challenging but everywhere you go is something spectacular to see.
Everything was amazing! The girl (we couldn’t get her name 🥲) was super helpful and nice. Thank youuu!!!!! We were super lost you saved us girl :)
The guides were very helpful in getting us into the Vatican. Inside it was amazing to see the artwork and history.
You need to purchase your tickets to skip the line in advance. Otherwise you will wait for hours in a different line The place to turn in your voucher was a few minutes away ; away from the crowd. Easy to redeem and then you walk past all those waiting and the entry process took less than 5 minutes
Moving experience! Loved the historic beauty of it all. It was good to have an insider get you to the tour!
Puts you in the fast-pass line at entrance security point 1. Not a 100% skip the line but it was a much shorter than the regular line. Great communication from the tour operator and they conveniently sent the electronic tickets to me in whatsApp along with excellent directions & instructions. We wouldn’t have been able to get tickets for this date and time had we not purchased them through Viator. The regular entrance tickets were all sold out for the time we were traveling.
I visited the Vatican Museums about a month ago during a very busy period and used their ticketing service. Despite the heavy crowds, they provided the e-ticket within the promised time, which was helpful. Recently, I visited the museum again with my family and chose their service once more. This time the process was even smoother, and their assistance made the visit much more comfortable. Overall, their support was reliable, and I appreciated the help they provided on both occasions.
A terrible experience. Our tour of the Vatican and Sisteen Chapel was 2:30 then changed by Viator to 2 o'clock. We arrived an hour early, but King Charles was coming through and roads were closed. We waited forever for them to open, and then the mass of crowds who had been waiting at barricades when roads opened prevented us from even getting to the Vatican. Kept asking volunteers for help where to go, but we're misdirected several times. I asked for a refund and was refused. Double disappointment … Lost my once in a lifetime chance to have this experience! And lost money!
Good directions in a texted message about what to do day of the tour. With the crowds (and remember this is the OFF season) people holding up signs would have been helpful to find where to be. But once there, entry was smooth. This wasn't really a tour, though. Just tickets to get into the building.
Was interesting. Getting in is truly bedlam if not in a tour group. Literally thousands of people milling about. If you go find someone in a florescent vest and follow their instructions. Once in the museum is well laid out. We came early and found the crowds manageable. We departed after noon and the crowds were incredible outside. The Sistene Chapel (for me anyway) was worth the winding corridors and up and down of staircases.
My second visit to the museum, took my family along this time, they enjoyed the trip. Visit is worthwhile everytime
The skip-the-line tickets made entry into the Vatican Museums very convenient and stress-free. I recommend.
An opportunity to view art in the Vatican Museum is not to be missed. Couple that with a visit to the Sistine Chapel makes a typical day extraordinary. All I can say is WOW.
Our flight from LAX was delayed 9 hours called the tour via this app and no empathy was given and only sorry you will lose your money cannot reschedule you as this was not a Viator problem. Will never use this service again.Tiquets was more helpful and issued a refund. Not this company.
Tickets only. Long 'Skip the line' line. Plan ahead and get there early so you get in during time. We were fine waited 20-25 min before ticket check. Otherwise what was expected. Actual musuem and chapel were amazing.
We felt it was pointless paying to skip the line, not only did we receive an email the day before pushing our time back by 30 minutes, but it wasn’t clear where we were supposed to be queueing and even the security/guides were giving everyone conflicting information. The queues were disorganised chaos, and once in the museums we were herded through and felt rushed - particularly the Cistene chapel. Having said that, we visited in September 2025, a jubilee year, on the weekend of pilgrimage to the Vatican, so I have no idea if this is a normal volume of traffic. Judging by the queues to the Basillica - which we couldn’t/ didn’t want to join and the hoards of pilgrims filing in I’m guessing not! The square was cordoned off for general access. Speaking to friends and family they had a very different experience so maybe just bad timing on our part.
Just a ticket reseller, it’s because of company like that that prices go up. On top of just reselling, gives confusing instructions, asking for support feels like asking for something unreasonable, overall not very friendly while their job is just to print ticket. Maybe don’t take tourists for cash cow then you’ll have good reviews
It was difficult to locate the place to get pic up the tickets. Ther is a lot of cnfusion once you got there. You had to keep asking which line to be in to go in.
Even though we missed the time of entrance to the Vatican Museum due to delays for Papal services, they sent us our tickets and helped us get in
We were not given a meeting point address. We asked several people near the Vatican where to go, and got a different answer every time. We spent a lot of time searching and never found it. I requested a refund, and have not received it.
The ticket pick up was easy. Location of the correct door was a little confusing, we had a bit of a line with all the tours diving ahead of us in line one. Was still worth it to avoid standing in the sun for a much longer line.
We enjoy the Vatican museums. We still waited in a line and it gets very crowded inside. Unfortunately St Peter's Square was closed the day we went.
Trip was canceled by provider without notification or auto refund. Found alternative greater than 50% lower.
this was very simple and easy, I only gave it 4/5 because these tickets if you can book far enough out are much cheaper. however, if you miss booking on Vatican website this is a great option. I recommend the early time slot, and they ended up messaging us our tickets so we didn’t even have to go to their location, very Convenient.
Got to ticket late and gone! Very disappointed 😢I asked guy for information and he sent me to nowhere???
Receiving the tickets was easy and simple. Finding the right place to stand in the area of the Sistine Chapel was by far the hardest thing about this. A skip-the-line ticket does not mean you don’t have to queue. You have to queue with all the other skip-the-line ticket holders. Once this became clear, it was extremely simple. Went in at allotted time. The place was much bigger than I had thought and was extremely interesting - being able to wander at your own pace. Would highly recommend if you’re visiting Vatican City, however this is not for children. Some families were there with young children who were extremely fed up.
This was nothing special. I wouldn’t recommend it. Couldn’t find the place and it wasn’t on my ticket.
Buyers beware, the company changed the entrance time a half hour before the original time, sent me a digital voucher via Whatsapp despite giving clear instructions at purchase via email that we must pick up the voucher at the office in Prati. They did NOT offer any sort of compensation nor a refund. Why would you communicate via Whatsapp if I never communicated with them via that app before?
Great experience all round. The museums were incredible and the Sistine chapel was more than I expected. My only criticism was how crowded it was but I guess that is to be expected.
It was definitely not “skip the line” tickets. The security/employees at the Vatican museum have no time for questions and especially not in English. I must of missed the sign for the Sistine Chapel because I left without seeing it. Would go back for that.
Do NOT buy tickets from Viator or any other agency. We thought it was advisable to book before we went as our time was limited. We paid £121 (GBP) for 2 tickets. On payment we were given the address of an office where our tickets were held. When we received the tickets the price on them was €25 (Euros) each. So Viator are making a good profit!! Go instead to the office 39 Via Germanico where you can buy the tickets directly. The Sistine Chapel is amazing. It takes nearly an hour to get there through smaller chapels, corridors and galleries. You could spend a whole day just in the Vatican museums.
Very straight forward to collect tickets. Great experience visiting the vatican museums and the sistine chapel was a dream come true.
This really is just the tickets for the museum only. If you want to see also the basilica make sure you get an online reservation. There are a lot of things to see at the museum and going without a guide has its positives such as not having to stop and look at things you aren't as interested in. After several days of well guided tours walking at our own pace was perfect for everyone.
So easy and so close to the location! Super friendly service, we had a wonderful time. Highly recommend for a self guided experience.
Well organised even though it was packed, audio guide is a must, fabulous presentation of artwork, sculptures and tapestry. A lot to take in.
Just a ticket. You walk there on own and find your own way. Make sure the ticket says skip the line.
I thought i bought a guided tour to the Vatican museum + sixteenth chappel, but when I came to Rome tours, local business partner, I was told that the tickets for me & family were only entrance fees and no guide included. I note that the entrance fee is Euro 25 per person, which also should include entrance to sixteenth chappel (but closed just now). The total price for us would be Euro 75. I paid NOK 1895 which is equivalent to 150 Euros. I feel cheated!!
It was not a skip the line experience at all - the ticket we received only enabled us to wait in the same line as everyone else entering at the same time as us, and there were 100s of people. Just be careful and know your expectations.
I think the least the operator should do is say hi and be a little bit more helpful since I mentioned it was my first time and I genuinely didn’t know what to do. A hello is minimum courtesy But the visit to the Vatican was amazing
I had a wonderful time it exceeded my expectations. I had a wonderful memorable experience. I would highly recommend
A great experience and directions to collect tickets etc were great. However, the Vatican itself was a very long tour. The directions aren't great inside the museum. Not sure we saw everything. I'm really interested in theology and history but even i was beginning to look forward to the gift shop after 2 hours.
Poor follow up. Lack of information. Expected to be able to St Peter's but further cost. Sold a lemon.
We booked a tour time of 8:30am, but when we got to the ticket office we were told that there were no tours available for this time. We were asked to wait until the ticket availability was confirmed. After waiting for almost 1 hour we were given a 9:30am ticket. The website should explain that the tour time is not guaranteed.
I would NOT recommend this company/website or this tour. 1. The prices include a nice bonus for the operator despite offering 'best price'. 2. The tickets weren't available at the outlet when we arrived. 3. The queuing is a total disaster (the Italians have no systems for stopping abuse or organising guests. 4. Buy your tickets in advance from the official Vatican outlets or be subject to dynamic pricing and unsatisfactory elements. Next time, I'll know what to do.
Waste of money. A lot was not on display, way too many people! We were not told our tickets (which were overpriced) were timed. We Missed the Sistine chapel as we had to leave!
The museum was very interesting, lots to see. We didn't really get to skip any lines and having to collect the tickets from an agent was a bit of a pain, especially when the tickets we were given were for 1.5 hours after the time we'd booked for. Would have been nice to know that in advance.
The tickets itself were very useful and helped us avoid the crazy long line at the Vatican Museum to enter (found out that those who don't book these tickets or tours line up at Vatican Museum at 6am to get tickets when they open at 8am...). Downside is that you are not guaranteed entry for the time you booked. We booked the 8:30am slot but when we went to the tour shop to pick up our tickets we received 10:30am slot. It's not their fault, the Vatican releases few tickets at a time on the day of depending on capacity so the tour shop apparently only knows at 8:30am if they will have tickets at the promised time or not. They sent us an email two days before our date booked asking us to be patient and vaguely stating that we might get a later time than scheduled - all of which is fine, but wish they had been more transparent and direct in their email. The email made it seem we had to be there early otherwise we'd lose our spot - we missed our morning breakfast, spent money on a cab, and showed up at 8am hoping that would make us secure our spot only to realize it wasn't even in their hands. This same confusion was there with lots of folks after us were upset and wanted refunds (which they said they could get) but honestly if you just wait, high chance you'll receive your tickets soon.
Great organisation. Was smooth to get inside and it was a lovely experience. Not very busy so we had plenty of space for pictures.
Easy purchase, easy pickup with helpful directions upon pickup. One at the entrance it was a very quick experience. We are very happy we bought these tickets
