Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel & St. Peters Basilica Guided Tour

Our guide was very knowledgeable and had the patience of a saint. The tour itself is amazing, the sights are simply out of this world. Must do when in Rome.

Juliana was so incredible. Her knowledge of the art and history was vast, and she really got my kids to think about the details of the art in a different way. They found her so interesting. She turned the tour into an experience we will never forget.

Giuliana was outstanding guide! I couldn’t believe when it was over. She was knowledgeable, well-paced and fun. I learned so much. She has a great manner. She answered any and all questions.

Despite being where we were supposed to be and finally getting through to the phone number, they left without us denying us one of the highlights of the trip. They even sent us an old picture of where we already were, but it is now covered in scaffolding. We feel totally ripped off. Then they told us no refunds. Stay away, far away!

Juliana was an outstanding guide with excellent knowledge about the Vatican history, and art work. She was vivacious and had many anecdotes to entertain us. I especially appreciated her preparation of us before entering the Sistine Chapel. Otherwise we wouldnt have known what we were looking for and at since the chapel is a no talking zone. Great job . Juliana did a great job as our guide, lots of knowledge and insight to share. Would have given 5 stars but the headsets weren’t great. The first set was an over ear style that wouldn’t stay on, the second was an ear bud that stayed put but the sound kept cutting out even when stood right next to Juliana so I only got about 25% of what she was saying.

Lots to take in, grandiose, a tour that needs more tours to grasp the entirety. Our guide supplied context, a splendid experience and nuanced analysis, not simply regurgitated wiki explanations. A required Rome experience.

It was a very enjoyable tour. Our guide really was so knowledgeable and imparted this knowledge with the right balance of information and amusing facts. There is so much to see and we really appreciated our guide's experience with tour hroups. I would highly recommend this tour.

Was disappointed with this tour. Google Maps said it was a 10 minute walk, gave ourselves an hour and still didn’t make it on time. Tour host was very rude about us being late and would not switch us to a different time. It took arguing for 20min and demanding a manager before they finally allowed us to proceed without a guide. Missing the tour we paid for. I read and understood their policy but felt that they handled it unprofessionally and would not recommend this tour company. I rate two stars because we did finally get to go but not impressed with how it was handled

I was skeptical about this given how expensive it was going to be for my wife and I ... but it was definitely worth it. Julia did a great job of prepping us for what could have been an overwhelming visit to the Basilica. And she kept us engaged and informed without being overbearing. Her experience guiding tours certainly shone through.

Our guide was very calm and consistent throughout the tour allowing everyone to view her preselected points of interest. We were timed so you had the most time in the Sistine Chapel. (Pushed through but slowly) Again same with the Basilica. Good for what it was- the chapel and basilica . If you have more time and interest book a private tour, you will be able to move at your pace and really see the museum.

The tour was good but we needed more time in the Vatican museum. We missed many of some of the most notable paintings, sculptures and other objects as the guide seemed a bit hurried to get quickly to the Sistine Chapel. After which we went into St. Peter’s basilica. I did this tour last year, and our guide stopped at some of the most popular items to explain the details and historical significance. However, this time the guide walked past many without commenting, like Raphael’s The School of Athens, The Belevedere Torso, and the Statue of the Nile with no mention (?) Luckily I took some quick photos.

Julianna was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. She was a master at navigating the crowds!

Our guide Donotella did a wonderful job! She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The Vatican venue was amazing!

Our tour guide relied too much on minor and mundane stories about the history of the Vatican. She sat us down during a rain shower under a cafe's umbrella and chatted for 15 minutes instead of showing and allowing the time to view the sculptures and frescos. Once we started moving again she pushed through the mass of visitors not pausing to stop. Felt very rushed! Short amount of time in the Sistine Chapel. Did enjoy ending in St. Peters. There happened to be a small choir practicing in the church. The sound was glorious.

We had the best tour guide. It was wonderful that Julianna was so knowledgeable and funny! She asked thought provoking questions and easily handled almost all of the questions thrown at her. There was only one question that stumped her asked by a knowledgeable teacher from the US named Sherrie. She asked “Why does Adam have a bellybutton if he was created?” She was referring to the paining of creation by Michelangelo.

Viator contracted Checkandgo which did not care about the people they gave tours to. Not enough headphones for a tour guests until later in tour. Moved way to fast through Vatican to even see 80 percent of things presented. The only saving grace was the tour guide which had a lot of knowledge and was very personable.

It was well done and very informative. Our guide Albia was very knowledgeable. The Sistine chapel and the Basilica we breath taking

The guide and company staff are super nice and professional. however, Viator should advise people about. How busy the Museum was. It was overwhelming to be there. The Sixtine chapel visit was the worse. The room was beyond packed and that made impossible to appreciate much. I understand this not entirely your responsibility but there should be some disclaimer about how busy the museum gets on specific dates or weekdays. As a Catholic, this was a once in a lifetime experience and it was nothing like I have expected. I hope you advise your clients about this.

This was an awesome tour and the perfect amount of time for a guide through Vatican City. Julianna was outstanding and gave us all the great details and information you’d ever want out of a guide. The part that we also liked is the tour was thorough without being too long of a day. ~3 hours was a perfect amount of time for our guide to hit all the highlights, and then allowed us some time to go explore on our own.

Beautiful art and frescos. Too much time spent outside the Vatican. Crowds were exhausting! One and done.

Our guide Julianna made this tour exceptional. She was friendly, knowledgeable and to the point. She explained how our day would proceed which is nice to know on a 3 hour walking tour. We hit the highlights yet still had time to photograph what we wanted. I would definitely take another tour with her.

This was a private tour we did because my spouse uses a wheelchair. Our tour guide, Evi, was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable of the Vatican and Sistine Chapel. We accessed all the areas using elevators. She kept us moving and cleared people so we could move through the crowd.

Our guide was knowledgeable and spoke clear English. My only complaint was that two different groups of people - came late to the tour and did delay us. The instructions clearly say if you are late the tour doesn’t wait. It wasn’t fair to the other guests who did show up on time. We had a mother tour to get to and couldn’t be late. Lucky it all worked out

The entrance and access were excellent, and what we actually saw on the tour was incredible and absolutely not to be missed. Unfortunately, the guided experience itself was disappointing. The guide was difficult to understand, spoke in a monotone and struggled to engage the group. It was also unclear which rooms and spaces we were visiting, and there was little explanation of how the tour would progress. We were a group of five and, at one point, would have preferred to leave the guided tour and explore independently, but this wasn’t possible. The attraction itself is fantastic, but the quality of the guiding really let the experience down. Based on our experience, I wouldn’t recommend this particular guided tour.

What are the most informative tours I’ve ever had! Her tour guide Juliana was full of interesting details about so many things. The trip of around the Vatican was incredible but Juliana as a tour guide made it that much more special for us. Thank you!

Nightmare experience but we had an excellent guider. Would only recommend if you go at Dawn on the earliest entrance time with top tour tickets. Viator & tour company had wrong times for entry as well causing me much stress. Oversold sold experience, too crowded, long lines throughout, only 3 minutes in the Sistine Chapel, & we were ushered out missing St. Peter’s Basilica as the Pope was doing a Mass. and the tour still took 3 1/2 hours.

Fantastic tour, Julie Anna was fabulous. Good humor and a complete expert on her knowledge of history and events.

I am highly disappointed with both Viator and the local tour operator. After a minor timing issue led to a massive headache, Viator completely hid behind their rigid policies and denied my refund request twice. They care more about keeping your money on a technicality than they do about actual customer satisfaction or helping travelers navigate real-world delays. Do not trust them to help you if anything goes wrong with your booking. I will be taking my business to other booking platforms from now on.

Julianna was very knowledgeable about the Vatican. Gave us good information throughout the tour, was able to answer all questions, and gave us plenty of time for pictures. Would highly recommend this tour!

Juliana is a great tour guide for the Vatican! She gave us enough time to look at each space, did not stop showing things for 3 whole hours. She gave very clear instruction at the end of tour of our options.

You are on your feet almost the entire time. Be prepared to rush through the three hour experience as there is a lot to cover.

We never received the promised tickets to the Vatican. Only a small refund was provided. We would never depend on Viator in future
