Exploring the Vatican Museums with this tour was undoubtedly the highlight of our trip to Rome. The sheer volume of art and history inside can easily feel overwhelming, but our guide was extraordinary—knowledgeable, engaging, and fantastic at bringing thousands of years of history to life through incredible storytelling. Skipping the massive entrance lines saved us hours of waiting in the heat, giving us more energy to truly appreciate the experience. We walked through the stunning Gallery of Maps, the Tapestries, and Raphael’s Rooms, ending with the breathtaking Sistine Chapel. Having expert context for Michelangelo’s masterpiece made standing beneath it feel truly surreal.

Excellent in every way very interesting and informative
Come early to find the tour office. The directions were a bit confusing but the locals were very nice helpful. There are a lot of stairs to climb and descend so be aware
My guide was so pleasant and accommodating. However, he used a laminated booklet to point out different objects rather than showing us directly in themuseum itself. We also passed several rooms that looked interesting that he didn’t mention at all, and we didn’t have the opportunity to go in them. When we asked about the spiral staircase, he mentioned that it was at a different entrance and that we would not have the opportunity to see it, was incredibly disappointing. We finished at the Basilica of Saint Peter and did not have an opportunity to see the large gift shop and exit through the spiral staircase, which was one of the main things I wanted to say. I wouldn’t mind a refund because I did not have access to this.
My guide was so pleasant and accommodating. It would be helpful if you showed us more about pointing and talking about different art pieces, however, he carried a laminated booklet and pointed more towards the images in his portfolio rather than what we were actually looking at. We also passed over several rooms that looked interesting and did not take the time to go in and view them. Also, it would have been so nice to have seen the spiral staircase, but at the end of the tour, he mentioned that it was at the entrance and not the exit and since we finished at the Basilica inside the Cathedral, there was no way to see it on this tour, which was very disappointing .
The agency is very easy to reach, as soon as we arrived the staff was welcoming and very kind. The tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about every question we asked. We got in in no time.I recommend it.
Our guide Sylvia was excellent. She was a great storyteller and so knowledgeable. She was able to avoid every line and moved our group through the whole experience efficiently without missing out on highlights.
We were so glad to have booked a guided tour - especially after seeing the line of people waiting to get in who didn’t have tickets. It was such a thorough and moving tour! Our guide, Sylvia, had a heavy Italian accent so was a little difficult to understand at times, but we were able to keep up for the most part. I highly recommend taking this tour!
Incredibly crowded. Difficult to keep up with guide. Audio quality was poor. Guide’s speaking voice was not up to the task. Comparing this to a Colosseum tour the day before was like night and day. I would not recommend.
Extremely crowded. Difficult to keep up with tour guide. Audio quality was poor. Tour guide’s voice was insufficient for the task.
Wonderful and the guide was very informative with explaining the various sculptures and talestries! Definitely worth the skip the line tickets to move through the various exhibits easily and efficiently yet we enough time to get all the pictures of the experience!
We were with the company Good Morning Italy Tours for an organized tour of the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. The guide was hard to understand in english, and the meeting point was poorly marked. It was the organizers of another tour group who helped us find them. Me and my wife was surprise because all tours propose by Viator were perfect. Viator have a good note in my mind.
It was easy to find the meeting point, it was close to the basilica. Our guide was ready and friendly. I was content with the experience:)
Cosimo our guide was the best. Very friendly, accommodation and helpful. You can tell that he loves his job because despite the heat, crowds and chaos he still manages to wear a smile and extend a helping hand to go above and beyond. Book the tour and request for Cosimo. I would go again book this tour again with him. I wish he was our guide in all the tour we did while we were in Italy. Cosimo il migliore!
Our tour guide was Cara. She shared her knowledge of art and history with a passion which added to the experience. She has patience with her clients, needed when a child was loud and running around. I recommend toddlers not be allowed on the tours, it affects others experience on the tour. Cara was caring that we had water, shade, and documents stored safely.
This was the only Viator that we were disappointed with while in Rome. Skip the lines was great but the tour guide was hard to understand, wasn't friendly about needing to get water at one of the areas that had water to refill bottles and it was terribly hot so that wasn't safe for anyone. There was supposed to be a Dome option which she didn't allow at all ?
Cynthia really was the best! Such enthusiasm and passion for her subject. We had a very hot tour - which she made enjoyable with her non stop facts and story telling. Brilliant!
The tour was exceptionally wonderful. Our guides detailed explanation of David was a highlight, and brought the marble statue to life, as if we were right there when it was being chiseled and honed by the master.
Perfect experience, straight forward and easy all the way through. The website was easy, booking, paying options.
Tour guide was friendly, efficient, well educated and knowledgeable. He was informative about the artwork
Tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate. Very crowded and hot in certain areas of your. The sites are unreal.
It was very rushed. NO time to take photos.
2,5 hrs, quicker than expected but still overall satisfactory
Nice to “skip the line” but the earpieces weren’t great, I found myself not paying as much attention to the guide, and felt rushed. It was great to get to see the St. Peter’s but would maybe have preferred to do a standard audio guide on my own. The company also felt more driven by profit than customer satisfaction
It was great. We didn’t have to wait in lines and our guide was knowledgeable and friendly
Sylvia, our guide, was engaging and very knowledgeable. The Vatican museum was great, but skipping the lines was more than worth every penny spent. "Skip the line" involves expedited entrance to the Vatican itself, the Sistine Chapel, and then St Peters Basilica. Your guide walks you to the door of the Basilica, but it's on your own for going in. 10/10 Recommend!
Silvia did a fantastic job! Very informative and knowledgeable
Guide was knowledgeable and engaging, particularly about Michelangelo and his work in the Sistine Chapel. Would have liked an introductory overview - the walk to the entrance, the special treatment we get (skip lines), and the flow of the visit.
Meeting point wasn’t explained well. It is a physical storefront, not just a guide holding a flag. Would have been helpful to have this noted in reservation instructions. Guide was very friendly & knowledgeable, not super dynamic.
Silvia was an AMAZING guide! Informative, great speaker & passionate. She made my trip enjoyable Grazie, Silvia
I did enjoy this experience. For me, it was a little overcrowded and I couldn’t always hear the tour guide. I completely understand this is out of your control, but it did seem a little bit like organised chaos. Also, I was under the impression we were walking through the silent part of the Sistine chapel, but that didn’t happen? I’m unsure if that was too busy with people waiting. Nevertheless, it was absolutely beautiful with what I did see and the tour guide was extremely kind, considerate and knowledgeable.
The walk to the entrance was ridiculous, the wait and lines to get in with a reserved time ticket was useless. The guide spoke English, however the audio system for the ear was basically inapt. The guide lost us before entering the Sistine Chapel, did not wait, did not call out for us, it was packed with other people and tours, didn't have a chance to see much at all. Trying to find the group and asking officials for assistance was no use. Exited the Sistine Chapel and walked to the line for the Basilica and was not permitted to go with our tickets. Terrible experience, never again and will not recommend to friends and family. I should receive a full and complete refund. This is nothing short of a scam.
I want to thank the tour operator for allowing my wife and I to join a later tour. I was unable to find the store front which was the starting point for our tour. The manager personally escorted us to another tour provider so we did not miss seeing these site. I greatly appreciate his professionalism and personal service. It was also an excellent tour. Thank you very much.
Tour was organized from start to finish. Our guide, Eleanor, was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to be around.
Great tour to skip lines , be ready to walk - we spent about 4 hours in this activity. Our tour guide was great !
We signed up for this tour on Easter Saturday and the Vatican was incredibly busy. What at first looked like insurmountable chaos was navigated with great efficiency and humour. Access was secured and the tours completed. The Guides were excellent, especially the Art Historian (unfortunately, I cannot recall her name) who took us through the Vatican Museums.
What information we received from the guide was very good and enjoyable. However everything was very rushed and was like a speed tour. We were quickly guided through the museum of the Vatican with little explanations. We were not accompanied to the sistine chapel, and did not attend St Peter's Basilica. There are better tour options out there than this one.
Such an amazing place. Paulina, our guide, was so friendly and knowledgable. There wasn’t a question she couldn’t answer. Really well organised. Easy to find the meeting point and we skipped all the long queues. Couldn’t fault the experience.
Excellant tour. Very informative. Sylvia was a great guide
Great tour. Our guide, Carl, was fantastic.
We had Gaida as our guide and honestly she was amazing! We couldnt fault her in anyway she was so pleasant well spoken and really knew her stuff! You could tell how much she enjoys her work and the way she talks about every single thing. No question was to small or too big for her. The place in it self just speaks volume we were absolutely blown away by everything.
This tour was extremely well organized, we were guided through the various exhibits very efficiently, and the tour guide was outstanding in her knowledge of the different areas that we viewed.
Silvio our guide was terrific and expertly guided us through the immensity of the exhibits at the Vatican and the wonder of the Sistine Chapel. We’d have been lost without it. Everything worked pretty slickly
Our incredible and knowledgeable guide Paolo exposed us to all the sites and details most people have never see. He even took us on a couple of added stops based on the groups questions and interest. Definitely ask for him!
My family of 3 adults took two Viator tours while visiting Rome. One to the Colosseum the other to the Vatican. We went October 2025. Expect crowds! The booking and getting tickets went smooth and was easy. Directions were good on where to meet each tour. Plan on LOTS of walking unless otherwise stated. The guides are very knowledgeable but even though they were English speaking, some were very had to understand with the headset. If there is not a planned bathroom stop on a tour it should be advertised. I’m giving 4 stars because of difficulty understanding the guides and no bathroom stop.
The info had said, no printed ticket needed. Then I got an email that said print your ticket the day before. I’m in a hotel so I didn’t have a printer, but I got the hotel to print the ticket I took the ticket to the Vatican and St Peter’s Cathedral and they would not except the printed ticked I had. They said I needed a square QR code and the one on the paper was rectangle. I’ve tried to reach someone and no one from Vasica has answered me. I would like a refund for my 250.00. I had no problem with the other two sites I saw in Rome thru Vasica with the correct code bar.
I cannot recommend this agency enough! From start to finish, the entire experience was seamless, professional, and unforgettable. The tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica was not only breathtaking, but also made so much richer thanks to our guide’s incredible knowledge and passion. Skipping the long lines was a huge bonus, and instead of worrying about logistics, we were able to fully enjoy the art, history, and atmosphere of these iconic sites. This wasn’t just a tour—it was an experience I’ll never forget. If you’re planning to visit the Vatican, don’t hesitate: book with this agency. They truly make Rome’s treasures come alive!
An amazing tour! Our expert guide made the visit engaging and memorable. Skip-the-line access saved us valuable time, and all tickets were included for the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica so it was great value for the price. We especially enjoyed the Basilica. Everything was well organised and stress-free—highly recommended!
It was a wonderful tour and the guide was very good. And it was a real priority entrance, we didn't have to queue at all.The guide Francesco is super prepared
The guided tour of the Vatican was a truly unforgettable experience. My partner and I were captivated by the professionalism of the guide, who accompanied us with passion and expertise through the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica. Each explanation was clear, interesting, and enriched with anecdotes that made the visit even more engaging. We felt supported and cared for throughout the entire tour, without ever feeling rushed. It was thrilling to share this journey through history, art, and spirituality together. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants a complete and unforgettable experience of the Vatican.
