Vatican City is an absolute must-see when visiting Rome, right up there with the Colosseum. We had a fantastic tour guide (the same one we used for the Colosseum), whom I'll review separately. First things first: **It's crowded. VERY crowded.** Accept that early on and you'll have a much better experience. Also, absolutely get the skip-the-line tickets, or whatever they're officially called. We had an early start, and as we approached, we could see the regular line. It was looooooong. No bueno. Thankfully, our tickets allowed us to bypass that madness. Wear comfortable shoes because there's a LOT of walking involved, even though Vatican City is the smallest country in the world. And yes, it's an actual independent country, separate from Italy! You generally don't need a passport to visit, but check with your guide about any specific requirements for your tour. Our day started overcast and rainy, so I brought an umbrella. Unfortunately, security made me check it before entering. Naturally, I completely forgot about it when we left. So, if anyone wants a free umbrella, there's probably still one waiting for you somewhere in Vatican City. We started inside the Vatican Museums, seeing all sorts of interesting things, including a detailed model of Vatican City itself. This was actually a great way to begin because it gave us a sense of where we were and what we'd be exploring. Our guide then took us somewhere that apparently doesn't get nearly as much attention: a small museum filled with the carriages and automobiles used by popes throughout the centuries. Everyone knows about the famous "Popemobile," but I had no idea how many different vehicles and elaborate carriages had been used over the years. The Vatican coat of arms adorned seemingly everything, and the variety of designs was fascinating. I learned quite a bit here. From there, we wandered through several more galleries filled with sculptures, busts of famous historical figures (and plenty of people I'd never heard of), and countless other treasures. The enormous marble "bathtub" was particularly impressive, as was just about everything else. These galleries get especially crowded because they eventually funnel visitors toward the main attraction: the Sistine Chapel. And what can I possibly say about the Sistine Chapel that hasn't already been said? **It's magnificent. Absolutely magnificent.** Photography isn't allowed, and I actually agree with that rule. You're standing beneath one of the greatest artistic achievements in human history, created by Michelangelo. Put the phone away and just absorb it. There are countless professional photographs online, and frankly, they'll probably be better than anything you'd take yourself anyway. Be there. Be in the moment. Appreciate the history and grandeur surrounding you. It's something special. After the Sistine Chapel, we made our way to St. Peter's Basilica, along with what seemed like everyone else in Vatican City. Again, crowds. Get used to them. The basilica is another extraordinary experience. It's honestly difficult to put into words just how massive and magnificent the place is. We explored several different areas, including the underground grottoes, where numerous popes and others are buried. As with the Sistine Chapel, my advice is simple: **Take your time.** Don't rush through a place like this just to check it off your list. Look around, appreciate the details, and think about the centuries of history you're standing in. After leaving St. Peter's Basilica, we found ourselves in the enormous St. Peter's Square, the famous open area you've probably seen in countless photographs, movies, and television broadcasts. There's also a Vatican post office where you can mail postcards or purchase Vatican City stamps. A pretty cool little souvenir opportunity, especially when you remember you're technically in another country! We also got to see the Swiss Guard in their famously colorful uniforms, which was another nice touch to the experience. Overall, I couldn't be happier that I had the opportunity to visit Vatican City. Between the history, architecture, art, and sheer scale of everything, it's an experience that's genuinely difficult to describe. Yes, it's crowded. Yes, there's a ton of walking. And yes, you'll probably be exhausted afterward. **But it's absolutely worth it. Don't miss it when you're in Rome!**

Cool very nice good expirience
Do not trust this operator. Avoid them at all costs. I booked timed-entry tickets to the Vatican weeks in advance through Tripadvisor. This operator is already scalping tickets at double the official Vatican price, but I paid for the peace of mind. Instead, they delivered a complete nightmare. On the day of our scheduled entry, with only 3 hours' notice, the operator abruptly cancelled my tickets. This left my family scrambling last minute to find replacement entry slots in an incredibly tight market. To actually see the Vatican, I had to purchase replacement tickets that cost double what this operator originally charged me, meaning I ultimately spent four times the official price because of their incompetence. To make matters worse, this company is a total ghost entity. When I tried to call the local Italian contact phone number provided on their Tripadvisor profile to get an explanation, the number actually links to a local Italian laundromat. They are masking a fake, uncontactable operation behind a Tripadvisor storefront. This is a predatory, unreliable sham of a company that ruins vacations. Save your sanity, your time, and your money. DO NOT BOOK with them. Buy directly from the official site or use a verified, legitimate agency.
This tour was booked from UK before we travelled the tour was ok the guide was good and we missed the horrendous waiting to get tickets the tour was informative but far too expensive we felt we had been ripped off and would not go again
Awesome good service enjoyed the tour no lines
Good service we have given the guidance and help in exploring fast
It was a great experience. The price was good. We were here for 2 weeks.
Confusing line and directions
Super awesome the best of the best
Friendly and efficient process
The guys at via Germanico 28 are a rip off. We paid $125 each for a full English guided tour. The sales rep at the ticket stand on Germanico 28 gave us, a party of 7, a print up receipt for a Spanish guided tour. But he proceeded to send us on our way and told us that we had just a self guided tour. Because we didnt have a tour guide, we were not allowed into the Basilica. They are nothing but scammers. We were cheated out of the full experience. I would not recommend anyone to do any business at this location.
Easy and quick fantastic experience
That was a great experience. The workers are very kind.
Great service and very kind people we was waiting one hour after long walk so it was very helpful that we don’t wait the line

Brilliant service from start to finish. Everything was efficient, easy to arrange, and stress-free. The staff were friendly and professional, and I felt well looked after throughout. Would definitely come back again and recommend to others.
DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM Terrible experienxe. We had a reservation at 9:30. They told us the tickets were not there. We had to wait till noon. We waited. Still no tickets. They said the only thing they could do would be to cancel. As if they were helping us. AGAIN, DO NOT BOOK
Great information provided by Brito - made our visit easy. We were able to skip a 2hour line, which was fantastic! They also gave us pashimna which we forgot to take with us

We tried several times to get tickets online without ever resurrecting, fortunately we found this office where to get them and we entered the museums directly without waiting in line!
We were informed by a guide who took us to the place of tickets was very friendly we made the purchase and we were given map with all the details to make the tour alone

I liked the way we were well received by this team, and we managed to fulfill the dream of entering the Vatican. The place is quite round and organized.
Crazy really that was awesome both the deal and the people were all very good very cool the outside and very cool the inside
Wonderful experience, quick and easy access. Effective communication. Clear information. Friendly staff.
Helpful and professional, clear information. Gentlemen. They explained everything in detail clarifying any doubt
We didn’t have to wait in line because we got tickets from their info point. They explained everything perfectly.
Very efficient, very good help to get back to the Vatican without waiting 3 hours. Very quickly approached us Thank you very much.
They scammed us into believing that they were the agency where we had bought our tickets and that they were canceled because we were late. They sold us more expensive ones. They capture people in front of the entrance to the Vatican Museums.
