Vatican City Private Tour With Hotel Pick Up

Valaryo was knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, polite and kind. He made sure we found what we needed when we needed it. The only suggestion I would give is to tell him ahead of time what you're interested in so he can spend time on those subjects.

Tour guide was excellent and well informed. Very knowledgeable on the history and art. Enjoyed everything about this tour. Did not have to wait in line. Showed us everything we wanted to see. Don’t waste your time with this company. They waited until an hour to contact us, they didn’t send a car and they told us our private tour person left. They gave us a “refund” but what other people paid, we were vastly over charged.

The whole tour was beautiful There was so much to see we didn’t have time to climb the Duomo because of conflicting tours on our part so leave enough time for that if you’re interested in climbing it

Clearly this tour guide made other plans and had to leave before the end of our scheduled tour. First, we were asked that morning to arrive early for a 2:30 pm tour, which we did. Then the guide rushed us thru the first two parts of the three part tour, taking WAY less than the allotted time, even though we were actively asking questions, and kept trying to stop to see things. Then for the final part of the tour she shows us some photos of the inside of St Peter’s Basilica while standing outside the church and left with over an hour of time remaining. We assumed she left because maybe tour guides were not allowed inside, but when we got inside the church it was filled with tour guides actively giving tours. The published tour schedule for this tour listed St Peter’s as part of the tour. We got none of St Peter’s and a rushed tour thru the other two sites. We immediately requested a refund and we’re told: “We regret to hear about the circumstances surrounding your refund request. Viator strives to make every attempt to address our customers' concerns. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to offer a refund. As per the local tour operator, they are able to provide the services. We apologize that you were not able to fulfill your travel plans, and hope that we may be of service to you in your future travels.” What does this even mean? “They are able to provide services?” Are they denying she left early? Just horrible!!! We specifically paid a lot of $ for a private tour and we’re treated terribly. This was not our first Viator tour, but it will be our last.

Hotel on pick up on time, waited at the office for a few mins for the guide, still had to wait in line for security and also while they printed tix inside. Good and knowledgeable guide. They don't drop you back to the hotel. Didn't really have a luxury feel to the tour as we have had with other private ones.

Vatican private tour was great, tour guide was very attentive to our needs and catered the tour to our speed. Pickup from the hotel was the only reason I would give this tour a 4 out of 5 stars. Driver picked us up, did not speak any english, dropped us off in the middle of a street and left.

Nobody gave us a message that the pick up from the hotel is at 8.30, while the trip "Vatican" was supposed to start at 9.15. A day earlier (22 May) we had a "Colloseum" trip start 12pm and pick up was 12pm from the hotel !!!! We had no way of knowing that the car would arrive 3/4 hours earlier on the 23rd of May. We couldn't board because we were at breakfast and still had to do check out from the hotel. We lost a $600 trip !!

We had a fantastic experience on this tour. Gabriel was one of the best guides and his knowledge on the Vatican was extraordinary. The pickup was punctual and Gabriel adjusted the tour to suite our timeline and interests. Highly recommended and an AAAA++++++++ day. You won’t be disappointed.

I left a more detailed review with photos on TripAdvisor but I am just popping in to confirm that you should book this! Rebecca was really great about keeping in touch with me and answering my questions over the Viator app chat. She even called up to my hotel room and gave me updates about my ride to the Vatican day of, a really nice touch. Fred was my tour guide and it was really fun — comprehensive and interesting, he really knows his stuff. He was extremely patient in answering my questions and showing me around and did a great job catering the tour to what I was most interested in so nothing felt like a waste of time and we were very efficient with the few hours we had together. All around this was a great tour and I would not have done it any other way! I really recommend this! Thanks for a wonderful tour of the Vatican, Basilica, and the Sistine Chapel, Fred!! I learned a lot and got some beautiful photos!

This was our fourth trip to the Vatican Museum and St. Peter’s, so we opted for a private tour. Our guide, Fred, was terrific - taking us off the beaten track to open exhibits not normally on the group tours. He was knowledgable and had a different perspective on some Church lore, which we very much enjoyed! The hotel pick up is a great option so you don’t have to deal with taxi availability early in the morning.

St. Peter's Basilica was the best part of our tour!! Our guide Jad was outstanding! Jad was well versed in Vatican history. Every question we had he answered it fully. I would highly recommend this tour future travelers.

My husband and I were treated to a comprehensive tour of the Vatican with our tour guide, Fred. Fred was extremely knowledgeable and his presentation was animated. He really brought history to life! I felt he went out of his way to make sure we got a thorough and interesting visit. Thank you Fred!

We are from Ohio and are visiting Italy. The tour with Gabriel was amazing we have learned a lot about the history of Rome and the Vatican.

Our guide was great for this tour extremely knowledgeable however for the cost we wouldn’t do the private tour again. The Vatican was amazing and definitely a must see!

Tour operator was very accommodating and responsive. Our tour guide Fred was very knowledgeable and led us through the crowded galleries with skill and efficiency. This was not my first time to tour the Vatican museums but I still learned so much from our guide! I highly recommend this tour!

Morning pick up from the hotel was prompt and made things easy. Our private guide was knowledgeable and experienced. The passage to the Basilica was not open, which was disappointing - tip is not to book on Wednesday, when the Pope has audiences. The museum is fantastic. It was high-season so very crowded, which was not a big problem, except when trying to enjoy the Sistine Chapel. This tour provides an easy and family-friendly way to enjoy the Museum.
