Vatican, Sistine Chapel Guided Tour & Access To St Peter Basilica

We called the tour company 2 weeks prior to our arrival date and spoke to a man who agreed to change our tour time to one hour later for the same day. He confirmed the change. When we arrived at that later time we were scolded and told they held the prior tour 15 minutes late waiting for us. They did not permit us to go with the tour that was an hour later. Our only choice was to go with a much later tour that day which was less expensive and we did not get any money refunded. It also impacted our dinner reservations. I would NOT recommend this tour company!

Very expensive and guide left us after museums! We paid for Sistine Chapel and Basilica too! Very disappointed!

With this knowledgeable tour guide we were able to take in key pieces in the Vatican Museum. Her knowledge of the fresco in the Sistine Chapel was superb along with Michelangelo and Raphael. Wove history and storytelling to provide a unique understanding of the Vatican Art. Due to the Jubilee year, the Basilica was not available from the museums but were fortunate enough to have time to exit the museum and walk around to St Peter Square and the Basilica. Do the tour earlier in the day in order to ensure the Basilica is still open. Walking shoes a must…see a lot in just 2 hours. If you have limited time in Rome, this your is a great option.

One day simply is not enough time. I could have toured for a full week. The tour guide was amazing and the company we used to book the tour took great care of us.

Our tour guide, Roberto, was a rock star! He was engaging, knowledgable, and made the tour both informative and fun. Could not have asked for a better guide. The only downside to this experience is that whoever oversees this process does a very inefficient job of organizing things. We had to go to one location to present our vouchers before being escorted to a separate location for someone else to then take us to the Vatican museum entrance. While there, we waited in line to get in. Every single Vatican tour advertises itself as "skip the line" so basically none of them actually help you do so. We waited over an hour before after our tour start time until we finally got inside the Vatican where our guide was waiting for us.

Our guide Korberta was awesome. Explained so much to us. Answered our questions. We took our time I. Certain areas and she was patient.

The tour operator arrived very late to meet us and then the tour guide was flat and disappointing. The Vatican City was amazing especially the Sistine chapel.

Adi was a great help, really friendly. We were struggling to find things to do in our free time, so he helped us plan some excursions. Definitely would recommend to come visit here

Going with a tour guide to the Vatican is well worth it. I’ve now been twice, once with and once without, and it was definitely better with. Our guide was super knowledgeable and experienced, making the experience smooth and efficient. Definitely get a tour to know what you’re looking at and to skip the line! Also be aware it’s long so eat before! You basically can’t buy food in the Vatican

This is a scam we payed for the 3 attentions u get about 30 minutes in the museum then left to defend 4 yourself to find the sistine Chapel then to be told by the tour guide that we were not allowed to visit St Peters basilica and he told us to request a refund for it when I contacted the supplier they denied my refund tbh I would book next time on the day there was lots of availability and shocking how much cheaper to get tickets at the attractions will definitely not use this service again everything eles at rome was beautiful would definitely recommend going 0 stars for this company there a scam

I would not recommend this tour. The departure was 45 minutes late and then we had to wait while the guide got the tickets which took another 15 minutes After losing an hour he raced us through and we had very little time to actually enjoy the art. He was dressed very casually and did not have a way for us to easily follow him so the group lost each other often. I would recommend the tour operators stop making comments such as ‘women don’t listen’ when referencing Eve. It was misogynistic and I almost walked off. The tour does not include the basilica - he left at the entrance.

There were more than 10 of us on the tour meaning it earned over €550. On top of that I had to attend a tour at a different time because they hadn’t fully booked my one so they cancelled it. You can’t criticise the Vatican or the Sistine chapel. They are amazing. The female guide we had did know her stuff but she also thought she was extremely funny. She wasn’t. If you can try and find a guided tour for around €30. They exist and on reflection having spoken to others sounded just as good when it comes to hearing the facts.

Taking other tours this one was very poor. Our guide explained the obvious (you are in the basilica, well yes and? Tell me something I don’t know). Other guides have passion for what they do, are knowledgeable and will share their passion with you, give you the history, tips, show and speak to details. This was a complete waste of money. Paid €80 pp for skipping the line basically! Go somewhere else and do yourself a favor.

The Vatican itself was an amazing experience. The tour, however, failed to meet our expectations. After waiting 40 minutes past our meeting time in the scorching heat, the tour company walked our small group to the entrance to the Vatican Museum where another group joined our tour (seemed like this was a ticket broker rather than an organized small group tour).The group tickets were not purchased in advance; we had to wait for the group tickets (and it didn’t appear as though we skipped any lines). The tour guide was very nice and professional, but longwinded and boring. It was very hard to follow what she was talking about and difficult to focus on what she was saying. An excessive amount of time was spent outside in the garden at the beginning of the tour, while the time in the museum was rushed. We didn’t have opportunities to stop and take pictures during the tour, as the tour guide didn’t stop at all and kept going even if people stopped to observe the exhibits. Sadly, we were underwhelmed by the tour and felt taken advantage of by the tour company. This tour was a waste of money for us - we were bored for most of the tour; we would have preferred a self-guided tour. We didn’t feel like we gained an adequate understanding or special knowledge of the Vatican Museum or Sistine Chapel with this tour. We would have preferred more time in the Sistine Chapel and less time outside in the garden looking at photos of what we would see inside the museum and Sistine Chapel. St. Peter’s Basilica is not included in this tour; we walked there on our own after the tour. It is definitely worth going and was the highlight of our excursion.

The Sistine Chapel was exquisite. Getting information about the Vatican Museum artists and time period was adequate for the duration of the tour. The company was very helpful in changing my time of entrance since we had a train to catch.

This is a great tour, but the reason I only gave it 3 stars was the description of the tour should be more clear including the pace of walking involved, number of steps to climb, and distance to walk. We had elderly people in our tour and they were extremely challenged by this tour, as it was the most physically demanding of our 12 day travels. Would not recommend for anyone who cannot walk quickly for a sustained amount of time and for whom climbing several flights of steps is not easy.

It is a SCAM!!!. Don't buy tickets from them. They will ask you to sign a contract for refund and cancellation. Pretending to be a staff member at the entrance of the Vatican, taking advantage of your ignorance of the place to deceive you that lie to you about there are many cumbersome procedures in Vatican and fake express ticket. Scam you to buy a more expensive ticket, originally sold for €17, which you could simply cue for 20minutes but they charge you €60. The Vatican official website displayed on their mobile phone is fake, and the price on it is completely different from the official website. I hope no one will be scammed again. They tour guide is unclear and obviously they have no idea what there are taking about, the walk is super fast, and they ditch the lost members of the group. The worst tour ever.

Our trip was changed from 10.30 to 8am, but this turned out to be a good thing due to massive crowds in the Vatican over Easter weekend. Ilaria (apologies if spelled incorrectly) was an exceptional guide. Her knowledge and understanding of the art was brilliant, and she was so enthusiastic and kept the group together despite the busy crowds. Absolutely stunning place and would recommend a guided tour to get the most out of it. Thank you!

Unfortunately, this tour got cancelled the night before which was a huge bummer. They told us our English tour guide was ill. I think this company should have a back up plan for these emergencies. The guy that texted me was not able to offer me the same time (10:30) for the rest of the week. We were on a tight schedule and the few times and days offered did not work for us. To top it off, the person we were communicating with was not very flexible. Also- the website did not make it so you couldn’t rebook the tour for later in the week at the same time. So when I rescheduled it, I got a nasty text from the person in charge saying that “I already informed you that you cannot do a tour on Friday at 10:30.” Our original tour was scheduled for Tuesday at 10:30, so I’m not sure why Friday was still unavailable and yet viator let me book it… so in a panic, I had to find another company we could tour with it on such short notice. Anyway- long story short- SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSEWHERE!!!

Francesco is the best and the most expert guide ever!!!It was all great except from the St.Peters Basilica that's not really included ...you have to visit on your own.

Our tour guide, Roberta, was great. She is a small ball of huge energy. The Sistine Chapel is simply magnificent. We found the Vatican museum to be kind of average and a bit disorganized. Stuff kind of just stacked everywhere, not a lot of plaques describing the displays, and a ton of sculptures. We are used to the exit paths forcing you through the gift store, but we had to go through two cafeterias, outside, around, inside another building, then around and around - all just to get out. Not sure if that was due to covid. At the time we toured, we could not get to St. Peter's through the tour due to covid, having to go around to the other side of the Basilica to be able to go inside. You may want to ask about that before booking.

She was a very nice lady but the tour didnt meet my expectations. was very bored during most of it & the headset didnt stay on my ear. in my opinion we spent too much time in the beggining. & tbh wasnt a fan of most of the museum, way too many sculptures that all look the same.

Speechless ...the history and beauty were beyond words. The guide was knowledgeable and answered questions. Having this guide describe the art was so helpful. She pointed out and explained the tapestries, maps and history of the statues. It was as if she was a historian.
