Amazing experience, our guide was extremely knowledgeable. Skipping the lines is a must! Going in early November the crowds were still insanely busy but the weather made the temperatures wonderful. The Basilica is beautiful and we added the dome lift. The stairs the top are no joke but the views were amazing!

This tour was one of the best experiences in Rome! My tour guide Leo was so much fun! We told us so many interesting facts and stories. He was also very helpful and great to chat with. Could not have asked for a better experience! Everything was of the highest standard!
Make sure you book the dome if that's what you want to do. Tour was really good but some people thought they had booked the dome when they hadn't.
This is a must see for everyone coming to Rome. Simply breathtaking.
Ilaria the guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour was pricey but well worth it- probably would not have seen so much without the guide. The Dome is definitely worth the visit and views stunning. After the tour was finished we could stay on after which was necessary to see St Peter’s in more detail. Definitely recommend!
What a fabulous tour! Once we were able to find the office, the tour was well organized. The tour is fast paced. Our tour guide, Sonja was very knowledgeable, humorous. Her warm personality made the tour so enjoyable!
We booked our Vatican tour through GetYourGuide, with Crown Tours as the provider, and had a great experience! The meeting point was easy to find, and the tour was very well organized despite the crowds and chaos inside the Vatican. Our guide, Sonia, was extremely knowledgeable, and her passion for all things Vatican-related really made the tour engaging and enjoyable. The Vatican Museums were incredibly crowded, but the Basilica was impressive and well worth seeing. We also paid extra for the dome climb, which was a wonderful way to end the tour and a great addition to the overall experience. Overall, the tour was informative, enjoyable, and well organized. Despite the crowds, Sonia made the experience memorable, and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Vatican!
Henry was an incredibly passionate and knowledgeable tour guide. He was incredibly patient and knew a lot about the content we were looking at. While we were unfortunately not able to go to St. Peter’s basilica, we still were able to have lots of fun at the Vatican museum
Very impressed with tour guides’s knowledge. It’s almost too much to take in at one time. Very polite and good at answering questions.
We really enjoyed our tour. Elena, our tour guide, was really knowledge & clearly very passionate about the Vatican, the Pope & the importance of the area. The pace of the tour was great & we never felt rushed or as if we didn't have enough time to enjoy all we wanted to see. The Dome was a really good addition and we would definitely recommend adding it on to see the Basilica from a different POV.
Very good ,thorough for a four hour tour saw all the important parts of Vatican and a lot of extra tid- bits of information , Melina was Great
Stephanie was a great guide, gave "behind the scene" insights on the displays that made our visit more meaningful. The Vatican museum is huge, it can be overwhelming or boring without a guide.
Highly, highly recommend! Our guide, Elena I think... was excellent. She was highly attentive to our group and super knowledgeable. She also was really great at navigating us around the facilities. For those signing up for the Dome... great views... be ready for 320 steps!! No joke!!
Booking a tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica is the way to go, especially with long lines. However, during our tour on Sept. 11, it was a very busy and crowded day, especially in the Vatican Museums, making it difficult to enjoy the experience. Our tour guide was very passionate and knowledgeable about the Sistine Chapel.
The tour was very informative although very fast paced. It was nice to skip the line, but I would have liked more time in several of the side galleries. My only complaint was the earpieces, the sound was fine, but one was dropped on the ground before being put back in the collection and then handed out to someone. Also, all the earpieces were collected before entering the Sistine Chapel and then randomly handed out again afterwards, who knows what assortment of germs we were exposed to from this practice.
Our guide Barbie, was as knowledgeable and flowing as she was charming. I admit I fell for her! Seriously, her navigation of the logistics and the data and her dedication to the task were obvious. I feel like I was truly exposed to some of the concepts that formed the foundation of the Cupoloni, The Sistine chapel, etc.
Tour guide was very knowledgeable and spoke great English. Site was extremely crowded and large tour group of 20- while headsets helped us to hear the tour the crowds felt like we were being pushed through very quickly (being herded like cattle) and not able to stop/rest or take in individual scenes. This was just a result of the crowds and business of the facility, not the tour guide's fault at all. It was also extremely hot- bring lots of water!
The tour was wonderful. Sylvia was our tour guide, she was great and very knowledgeable. Booking the tour through Viator was super easy. I feel like we got our money's worth with this tour.
The Vatican is amazing and rich in history. Unfortunately our tour guide, Diana, was terrible. We couldn't understand her, and there were no fun facts provided or detailed history through the museum or chapel or basilica. What we could hear/understand we could have gotten from google or a brochure. We spent most of our time trying to listen to other tour guides giving their tours useful information. Would not recommend using this tour group.
Wonderful and informative guide was knowledgeable and informative. Best tour we ever took. We could not recommend more
Outstanding, Natalia was wonderful. Very informative and warm personality.
The tour guide, Alessa?, was easy to understand and was very knowledgeable. It was way too long, but I don’t think that was her fault.
Great tour Our guide was great
Tour was really worth it , especially the dome climb at the end where you could see the vatican square from above. Tour guide was amazing and very detailed in all his explanations.
Henry was our guide and he was absolutely fantastic! He really loves his job and is so passionate about art history. He made the experience so fun. The meeting point was also really easy to find for a first timer in Rome. It’s a lot of walking so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. 100% recommended
Eugene did a fantastic job! We loved it!!😍
Eugenio was my tour guide, absolutely enjoyed the tour a lot. He was very friendly and explained things very clearly.
We absolutely loved this tour of the Vatican and Sistine chapel. Very informative and so beautiful. A special collection of so much!
I appreciated the guide’s helpful commentary. The pace was enjoyable and liked small group of 12 people. There is so much to see, but the distillation was perfect. Sound system worked very well.
Had a fantastic few hours touring with Ellen’s, plenty to & she was so informative, learnt so much and all our questions answered without hesitation, I would highly recommend
The tour with Enri was amazing. He was very detailed on his tour. Enri made history very fun and entertaining for my friends and I. Even my baby enjoyed his tour. :)
Eugene was increibly knowledge and clearly knew the museum and art very well. He was so attentive am to our small group and he didn't rush us which was a negative of a precious tour in Rome. Will definitely recommend this tour to others!
Excellent tour with Eugene he’s very knowledgeable of the Art in the museum. Great pace didn’t feel rushed. Would definitely recommend to friends.
I have never been one to join tours but I am so happy I let my travel agent talk us into this tour. It was an amazing experience made better with the very knowledgeable tour guide. I e were able to enjoy the experience and learn things we otherwise would not have! I con not recommend this enough!
The guide was amazing. We had a wonderful experience. Would highly suggest to anyone. We skipped so many lines.
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour, which was not rushed and explained the remarkable history of the Vatican. Our tour guide Benny was extremely knowledgeable and was outstanding. A big thumbs up for our bucket list!!
Great tour with Matt J it was an amazing experience and Matt made it super easy. He was able to provide great insight on the museum and the basilica.
Flavia was the best tour guide! I was engaged the entire time and felt like I learned so much. She kept the group together and answered questions happily. Would go again
We did the tour with Letizia and she was amazing. She really kept the tour flowing. The tour was nice with the option of skipping the lines.
Good tour knowledgeable guide well organised good instructions everything went smooth for our entire family. Quite pleased
Jessica was very informative and helpful! We really loved this tour. She was very clear and had lots of interesting facts.
This was a good tour of very fast paced. The tour guide brought visuals and was very knowledgeable about the history of the locations toured. Very friendly! Over all great experience, just wear very comfortable shoes as there are no breaks and a lot of walking!
We booked our tour of Vatican, Sistine Chapel, & St. Peter’s Basilica Guided Tour on May 2, 2025 unfortunately the Pope had just passed and the Sistine Chapel was closed. Tour was not cancelled the tour was to be 2 hours ended up 4. We were told as we would not be seeing the Chapel we get more museums it was so boring and hot. We asked for a bathroom inside and told there was none unless an emergency and we said yes it is. Just 5 minutes down the hall was a bathroom for the public. Next we had to walk outside in the afternoon sun to get to St. Peter's asked how long told you have come this far not much longer. An hour later we finally got into the Basilica after standing in the heat and no where to sit. Only spent 10 minutes inside as we were exhausted. We were headed too a cruise the next day and spoke to people if they had booked tours of the Vatican and they explained they were taken to see the Pope who had just past to his grave and showed pictures. The other company had actually taken them downstairs in the Vatican and shown the all the ancient Pope Mobils. Not please we spent hours looking at extra rooms in the museum. Guide telling us no bathrooms, extra museum rooms standing for hours inside and out. Was not a pleasant experience at all.
First of all the Vatican is super crowded and well it is a guided tour. The tour does not have a lot of opportunity to point out a lot of things because we need to keep moving and moving so she just points to the right and points to the left. She was lovely, but again we didn’t get much out of that. Because promise when we checked in. The person behind the desk and announced that there was a problem with my reservation, and that proceeded to tell me that the problem was that I had not booked detour for the basilica as well. I explained to her that I did not want to book the tour with the guy for the basilica, but she told me she could fix my problem if I wanted to pay more. I told her again I was not interested. While we were waiting for Jorge to start, she walked out to me and looked at me and said they will not let you in the sistine chapel with your dress. I asked her what was wrong with it since it had sleeves and was at my knees, and she said it was still too short. I pointed on my friend had the same length and she said no Hertz was fine. I asked her if she was pointing that out because she conveniently was selling scarves in the office and she said no she just wanted to let me know that they would not let me in. Having been to Sistine Chapel before i’m knowing my office was completely appropriate. We did not buy the scarf and proceeded. Of course we were let into chapel and nobody have a question anything. This is not what we expect from the tour operator. Endlessly trying to upsell you something or make you feel bad is not want be treated.
Absolutely stunning city/property. A must see. Had a hard time hearing the guide sometimes, but I attribute that to me constantly wandering a little further to take more photos.
Great tour with a fantastic guide, Henry. Was informative, funny and enthusiastic. Learned a lot thanks to Henry and thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommended
Great tour. Was not able to see Sistine Chapel for you the election of a new Pope. A lot of walking. Would recommend splitting seeing either Vatican Museums or Bascilla on separate days.
Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and fantastic! I would always do the Skip the Line tours as that decreased our wait time to get in dramatically. I'm so glad we signed up for this tour with Crown Tours!
I took the tour with Eugene who was wonderful. His passion for art and history was very evident during the tour. I got to see beautiful sights while learning a lot. I feel like I left the tour knowing way more than I did coming in.
We carefully booked a skip the line Vatican tour that specifically indicated wheelchair accessible. I also communicated via chat message that one person in our group uses a mobility scooter. When we checked in with the tour operator he indicated that it was not a wheelchair accessible tour. The representative from the tour company was very helpful and made sure we still had skip the line access, albeit now a very expensive self guided tour.
