A very unique way to see Rome! The guides were knowledgeable and lots of fun. It’s mostly a calm float, with two fun rapids at the end for a great finish. Perfect for a hot afternoon.

Pretty mild rapids which is exactly what I was looking for, chill trip with some adrenaline
Absolutely brilliant experience and one of the highlights of our trip to Rome. Daniele was a fantastic guide, really friendly, funny and made the whole experience relaxed and enjoyable from start to finish. Rafting down the Tiber gives you a completely different view of the city, especially passing Castel Sant’Angelo from the river in the evening. We even stopped along the way for some pizza and water, which was a great touch. Daniele made sure everyone knew what they were doing and kept the whole trip fun without it feeling overly organised or touristy. A genuinely memorable way to spend our last evening in Rome and something completely different from the usual sightseeing. Would absolutely recommend it. Thanks Daniele! 🛶🇮🇹
Easy meeting place, great guides, drift past history. Only complaint was the viator info with voucher said that start and end place was same. The ending point was different which resulted with us trying to get back to starting point with difficulty and time consuming. Need to specifically state start and end point will be different. Other than that, great trip on the Tiber
We had so much fun and laughed the entire time. The guide was experienced and personable, telling us the history of the sites we saw along the way. He explained the ins and outs of paddling and what to do if you fell in-in a way that anyone could understand. We had one person fall in and she was immediately retrieved by our guide- unhurt, laughing and a tad embarrassed. Pizza at the end was also delicious. I one hundred percent recommend this tour for those who want to do something out of the ordinary in rome.
I'd definitely recommend this activity. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect after reading the other reviews, but it exceeded my expectations. It was easy to reach the meeting point by train, and we were able to store our bags and a change of clothes in a secure van that met us at the end of the trip. You will get wet. You will have to paddle. But you'll also have a lot of fun doing something completely different in Rome. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, made us feel very safe throughout the experience, and kept the tour enjoyable from start to finish. I highly recommend this activity, especially if you're looking for a fun way to cool off during the hottest part of the day.
Fabulous experience our guide Facu was funny, calm, professional and knowledgeable. The rafting starts of very calm and at the end the two rapids are very fun. Would recommend
I would book this tour again but directly through Roma Rafting. The meet up information provided is incorrect, it has you go to Piazza del Popolo but the actual meet up point is on the Tiber river. We walked around for almost 30 minutes before someone had to come get us, Roma Rafting did everything they could to make sure we did not miss the tour. The tour overall was a lot of fun and worth the price.
What a PERFECT Rome experience. I don't know how anyone can complete a Rome vacation without this rafting trip. You get such incredible views as you raft through the center of Rome. You start with a spectacular view of the Vatican and end with an amazing view of the Great Synagogue. Even though we are not talking Colorado style rapids, the two mini-rapids do add a little adrenaline to the float . . . plus it was rough enough to knock my son off the raft . . . but that was his fault:) GREAT TIME, GREAT GUIDE!!! If I were to make any recommendations to improve the experience, I would say 1: there should be a photographer on the bridge taking pictures as the raft goes over the rapids. I would have paid anything for that photo, and 2: SELL SWAG. I also would have paid a premium for a shirt that said "Rome Whitewater Rafting" :) 10/10
The rafting guide and the lady helping at shore are super kind and funny. The rafting guide is extremely skilled, having worked all over the world. This is a level 1 activity and you don't need any prior rafting experience. I'd definitely recommend it to those who want to have fun, see Rome from another point of view and dare to get wet in the river Tevere.
Fun and unique experience. Expect mostly calm waters but with a couple 'bumpy' rafting bits (enough to make half of us fall into the raft from our seated positions!) Good for me considering I had zero rafting experience. Regarding the booking, if they do not have enough people to go ahead then you will be offered alternative times or days, if possible, so be aware of that and try to be flexible. I had to attend the day after since no-one else booked for my initial day.
It was a lovely gentle meander along the quiet river Tiber with a bit of fun over the rapids at the end. More information about the sites that we sailed past would have been appreciated. We felt that due to there being more Italian speakers in the group they had more conversation. A better description of where to meet would have been helpful.
We booked this trip for an early evening activity. Our rafting guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. The general rafting is at an easy level and the 2 mini white water experiences were really good fun. We got quite wet so a change of clothes is needed. There are no toilets or changing facilities at either end of trip. The company were happy to take rucksacks in their car for transport though to meet is at end. There are a few stops during the route for photos and some information about the buildings at the side of the river. At one stop, cold pizza type faccacia sandwiches are provided (I'd have just preferred crisps, cookies or muffins or something but others may love this). All in all, a really nice family activity.
Unique, interesting and most importantly fun! See Rome from a different angle and paddle down the Tiber. Michael was very informative and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Even at the start waiting for other guests, Michael was giving some background the Piazza del Popolo, our meeting point. Highly recommend.
It was lovely way to tour Rome and see its grandeur and beauty but on a very different way. Our guide was very knowledgeable and very interesting.
We had a lovely time on the Tiber with Dario and Sebastian leading us on the raft.. Relaxed, nice to meet other nationality’s, well briefed , pizza and water stop and two rapids .. Prepare to get wet .. Great fun .. Thank you Nigel and Shauna
Excellent way to orientate yourself in Rome, as well as enjoy peaceful time on the Tiber River. Dario was a courteous, fun and knowledgeable guide.
It gave me a different perspective of the city of Rome. It was an extremely safe activity for all ages. I found out about this by accident and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip
Really friendly and knowledgeable guide. Lots of fun on the water, and felt very safe too. Would absolutely recommend.
Fun family activity away from the crowded tourist attractions of Rome. However, you can still see the famous sites from a distance while floating down a river. Bonus two more exciting "class I" rapids along the way. Your shoes and shorts will get wet. Otherwise, it's a very gentle ride downstream. Our guide made the trip fun for the whole family (kids 15 and 12). FYI: Pick the morning tour to beat the heat in the summer months. 2 hour tour. You start near Piazza del Popolo and end south of Trastevere. There is no ride back to Piazza del Popolo. We just walked along the river back to our hotel. The guide has a wet bag to keep your cell phone/supplies dry (we brought our own cell phone waterproof pouches with lanyards), Roman pizza and water snack, and the original driver who brought the raft to the site will keep your back pack securely locked in their car and meet you at the end point to return your personal items.
A great experience from a different view of the city, with an energetic, fun and knowledgeable tour guide in Facundo!!!
Excellent time on this tour. Guide was excellent and a great way to see some of the sites. Plus some fun at the end with the rapids
Thank you so much for the excellent service! We really appreciated it and highly recommend them! Roma Rafting is highly recommended.
A wonderful Roman rafting experience on the Tiber! Our instructor was great – very friendly and even shared interesting historical facts about the sights along the river. It was a perfect introduction to rafting: just enough action to get a taste, with a bit of paddling practice and two light rapids. We got wet, which was actually refreshing! Overall, the ride was calm and enjoyable – ideal even for families with kids. Thank you, Facundo and Julia! P.S. They even gave us a little salty snack along the way – such a nice touch!
Facundo and Julia couldn’t have been better!! Facundo was a top class instructor, he was very patient and encouraged us at all times!! His English is very good although he thought it wasn’t. The journey on the river was a fantastic opportunity to see some of the spectacular sites that Rome has to offer from the water. Truly breath taking. The rapids at the end were tame despite my worries and for a family with 2 active children of 22 and 19 it was the perfect blend of fun and culture mixed together.
Absolutely a blast. Nice and cool on the water and great views! Our guide was very funny. We got soaked and laughed a LOT.
The Tiber River in Rome ISN'T what the Seine is to Paris, what the Thames is to London, what the Mississippi is to New Orleans, what the Chicago River is to Chicago, It is the second longest river in Italy, rising on the slopes of Monte Fumaiolo in the Apennine Mountains in Emilia-Romagna and flowing 252 miles through Umbria and Lazio and the heart of Rome before emptying into the Tyrrhenian Sea near Ostia. According to legend, Rome was founded along the river in 753 BC. It has been the lifeblood of central Italy for centuries, a signature geographical and historical feature of Rome, playing a crucial role in the city's culture and development. Today, however, it isn't a popular tourist attraction. Swimming isn't recommended due to pollution and strong currents. River cruises aren't recommended because stone walls along the river are covered with graffiti. Unlike Paris and London, there aren't many significant sights to see. One critic described the Tiber River as "an ugly oversized creek." It varies in depth from seven to 20 feet. There are 26 bridges, some as old as the 1st century BC. One note of interest is the only urban island in the river, Tiber Island, which is 300 meters long and 90 meters wide and is home to one of the oldest hospitals in Rome, the Fatebenefratelli, commissioned in 1585 by Pope Gregory X111.
We had a great float to see the bridges and architecture. Perfect temperature in the evening. Facu and Julia were great!
Nice little trip, got clear instructions for the rafting and many fun facts along the way. Nice scenic view on the river, not too wild, but the small ‘adventurous' parts were fun.
This was such a fun afternoon seeing Rome in a very unique way. The rapids were perfect for beginner rafters. The guide Facuando was friendly and made sure we were safe the entire time. The pizza and water were an added treat. Fun day in Rome!
My husband and I booked this last minute and were so happy we did! Our tour guide Facu was knowledgeable and fun! I have never gone rafting before, but Facu went through everything in the beginning and reminded us throughout which made everyone comfortable. For my first time, this was an easy rafting experience. I highly recommend going and giving it a try, you won’t regret it!
My 17 and 14 y/o teens and myself had a great time rafting the Tiber River! Facundo our guide was amazing and kept us safe while making sure we had lots of fun on the rapids! Julia the driver was wonderful as well. Overall a must do for ansy teens wanting to do an activity that is also educational. We learned a lot about the area as well as our guide was very knowledgeable about the history. You will get soaked so bring a pair of water shoes or shoes you don’t care to get we
Roma Rafting was a truly unique experience! It was amazing to see Rome from the perspective of the river — such a different and beautiful way to explore the city. Our guide was very friendly and shared many interesting stories and facts along the way, which made the trip even more enjoyable. We were also provided with a delicious pizza and a bottle of water, which was a nice touch. Most of the journey is calm and relaxing, perfect for taking in the views, but towards the end there’s a fun adrenaline boost that adds some extra excitement. Overall, we definitely recommend it!
After a hot day on our feet in Rome, this sunset tour was just what we needed. Facu and Julia were great guides and taught our small group (3 kids, 2 adults) the basics of rafting. It was a great introduction to the city as well as rafting. We had a great time (especially on the rapids at the end) and would definitely do again!
We went with our two kids aged 12 and 14 and this was one of our favourite things to do in Rome. Our guide, Facu, was friendly & knowledgeable and the rafting was genuinely exciting.... you will get wet!
So much fun, Facu so so nice and funny. We all enjoyed it very much, teenage girls 18 and 15, mom and dad. Bring changing clothes 🤣 you will get a bit wet
It was a great experience very fun! Would recommend! The staff were also very friendly and gave some interesting facts about Rome!
One of my favourite things we got to do in Rome! The guide was so lovely and funny, made everyone feel so comfortable Very unique and special way to view Rome and get away from the crowds Really recommend to anyone visiting Rome
What a fun way to mix up our visit. It was a HOT week and we needed a break from the crowds and traditional sights. Faku did great with a raft full of folks from all over the world. Who knew we could do rafting in the middle of Rome!?
Great experience! This is a good alternative to visiting a boring temple. I highly recommend bringing a change of clothes so you don't end up disappointed afterward, because you will get completely soaked - your shoes will definitely be wet for sure! Facu is a great guy from Argentina. He keeps the team engaged with small talk and good conversations.
It was a great experience. I would recommend this adventure. The pizza was delicious. The guide was very nice. And took lots of pictures.
The views were very good, the rafting was very relaxing and there were only two rapids but Facu guided us through it very well and made it very enjoyable. They were very friendly, easy to communicate with and knew what they were doing. We went as a four and there was another family on the raft, I highly recommend this experience, you wouldn't be disappointed!
Went on this experience with my friends and we all had a lovely time. The guides were super friendly and knowledgeable and it was a really fun time overall.
Fantastic way to see the sights of Rome in a fun and unique way! Highly recommend! Our guide made the experience really fun. The rapids are easily managed, and you don’t have to be an experienced white water rafter to enjoy this.
Very safe, nice way to spend an hour, bit different, facundo the guide is excellent. Highly recommend this tour not expensive.
Amazing tours! Very friendly and fun. Super glad we decided to try it out. I recommend the evening ride if you can! Best guide you can ask for and fully admits that his English is not the best but it’s fun to work with!
Was a great experience. First time rafting for us. the instructor was very friendly and explained things good. Would reccomend it for everyone.
We'd never been rafting before and we had a great time! Really friendly tour guides and gorgeous views. I'd definitely recommend to anyone visiting Rome.
This rafting trip was great fun. Especially for inexperienced rafters. We were the only raft on the Tiber in the centre of Rome.
Brilliant way to see Rome; the rafting experience is something that I never thought I would ever try! But having done it and got soaking wet in the rapids I am glad I did it. The guide stops at various spots and you just float as they explain the history of what you are looking at.
