Wow we loved this tour! The guide was very knowledgeable, spoke clear English, and is both funny and friendly. We chose this tour last minute to try out this company, and boy are we going to book more when we return to Rome. We went to multiple underground stops to look at aqueduct ruins, and learned how water moved around the city to various fountains. Highly recommend if you want something more unusual, and not just a basic touristy tour, particularly for a repeat visitor.

Itinerary
This is where we'll meet and start our tour! You'll learn what Piazza di Spagna is for the Romans today, as well as the history of how it became the way it is today. The glamorous side of Rome since ancient Roman times until today. Here you'll also learn that the Spanish steps.. are not Spanish at all! You'll be surprised to learn why. Then we'll learn about the iconic fountain of la Barcaccia, which is still today fed with an ancient Roman aqueduct of over 2000 years! And this is where our journey through water starts..
This column is tied to the local traditions around Christmas time
Here we'll start seeing parts of the aqueduct visible overground, as well as a mysterious door right next to it..
This is a department store.. but we're not here for shopping! You'll learn that pretty much anything in Rome can turn into a museum, because the modern city is literally built on top of the ancient one! In fact underground this mall we'll get to see the ruins of the only ancient Roman aqueduct still functioning today!
The iconic Trevi fountain, one of the most photographed spot in Rome. But how many people know of its significance? You'll learn of the legends and stories which go hand-in-hand with the fountain, since ancient Roman times until today.
Here you'll learn where all the water of the Trevi fountain comes from! We'll walk underground to explore the ancient water tank of the aqueduct built in 19BC! This place is like a "lasagna", with layers of buildings and homes of people that have lived here through the centuries. People just like us today..

Really enjoyed our tour, our guide was fantastic. Knowledgeable, engaging and no rushing about. We took our 17 year old son with us, who thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience too. We saw lots of things we wouldnโt have otherwise had the chance to, and learned so much - so thank you! Highly recommend.
The tour was very good. I learned many things I did not know. Tour could have been a little shorter. The actual underground museum was very crowded and a bit claustrophobic. The guide was very knowledgeable.
Ginny was a interactive and delightful guide.
The tour was good, although I thought there would be more access to underground viewings. Our guide was very nowledgeable and helpful
We were running out of things to do in Rome and had heard about the museum to go underneath the Trevi and see the old waterway. It was cheap to go inside and we did not book in advance, thankfully we got to go straight inside and view at our own pace. It was worth a visit!
This was an excellent tour , one of the best we have experienced . Valeria was interesting and engaging . We learned so much not only about the aqueducts of Rome but about ancient and medieval Rome. We both had a wonderful time.
Wonderful tour. Saw many interesting sites and our guide had lots of good stories to go with each. Engaged with everyone individually as we walked too.
Great really informative tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information about the Roman Aqueducts and how they were such an integral and important part of ancient and current Roman life. The pace was great and not too rushed. The guide even took us inside a church along the way to show us some Bernini sculptures that we otherwise wouldn't have known about. Definitely recommend this tour for anyone that wants to learn more about the aqueducts and see a side of Rome that many likely overlook.
Our guide was so good, hade great knowledge of Rome and the underground Aqueduct.
The tour was too large to enjoy the aqueduct and for the money you should get access to the Trevi fountain to throw the coin. Everything was overloaded and crowded. The guide was informative but not really our cup of tea, and her jokes werenโt really landing with us. We were bored quite quickly with all the talking at each stop.
Our guide Marcello did a wonderful job and his photographs and maps helped give understanding to what he was sharing. The tour description could have been more thorough about what would be explored prior to the aqueduct. The underground water element was truly fascinating. Would recommend.
It was only two hours long but was packed with the history of Romeโs aqueducts and water supply. Very informative!
Marcello was full on knowledge really enjoyed learning about the city of Rome !
Great tour guide is very knowledgeable and friendly would recommend this tour for everyone a lot to see and learn
Very interesting and unique tour. If youโre looking for something a little different Iโd recommend. Excellent guide and got to stop at major sites along the way.
Super nice and informative guide , Kiara, but I expected a lot more from the aqueducts. A bit disappointing. In fact not great. Guide was super nice
Marcello was excellent really bringing to life this part of Rome and adding genuine excitement about aqueducts. He was very well paced, clear and funny as well.
Fun and informative. Sassy tour guide who expertly showed us around the area. Learned much. Ate much.
Sabrina was an amazing tour guide. Very knowledgeable.
This tour was AMAZING! Better than expected. Our guide, Sabrina, was passionate about everything that she talked about which made every minute wonderful! I would recommend it without any hesitation. Learned a lot, super fun and interesting.
It was a great experience visiting the city with an experienced guide and seeing the remains.
This tour is a must, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable.. Seeing parts of the ancient city aqueducts was amazing..
Very interesting. Very knowledgeable guide. I would recommend it to others. Itโs not just a tour of the Trevi fountains
Interesting tour, Sabrina was very knowledgeable about the aqueduct system and other history of Rome!
Throughly enjoyed this tour, very informative and interesting. Learned lots of things about Rome that we didnโt know
Loved the overarching theme of the importance of water and the Aquaducts to Rome. Great tour, very informative in a good and casual way. Learned so much and loved the underground portion of the tour. Marcello was top notched.
Our guide was entertaining and informative and she had some really great stories that required us to use our imagination that were entertaining loved her rendition of the history of the Spanish steps and her way of telling us about the men behind the famous sculptures everywhere . Very easy walking tour and the stairs underground were also easy to navigate , all in all an enjoyable morning
You will learn so much history about the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, and the aqueducts. The aqueducts are amazing, just to think about them being in use for over 2,000 years. Our guide was so enthusiastic about sharing her immense knowledge & teaching us about this engineering marvel!
Very educational and well done by our guide. She was well versed in the history of theTrevi fountain and Spanish steps.
A brilliant tour of the city centre by Marcello. Very informative and entertaining and learned a lot about the history of the city of Rome.

This was a great tour, Federica was very informative and engaging. We all really enjoyed and would book another tour again.
The Guide (Christina) was excellent. Had a clear keen interest in Rome history. Very informative tour. Great pace and small group. Christina was very knowledgeable and fed off our questions. Good pace. Excellent audio. Best tour we've ever done. I was expecting walking underground which was not the case.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, funny and interesting. She gave us so many great insights and stories. She answered questions and made this tour very good! We loved it and highly recommend!
We booked the tour and tried to find the meeting location and found the directions and customer service horrible. Tried calling when we finally located the meeting spot and were told tough luck, youโre out the money. We asked for the guideโs number in hopes of catching the tour and were again told tough luck. Not a positive experience with viator
Learning about the underground Aqueduct system was so interesting and it was neat to see how they had built around the original system and preserved it so well. Frederika, our guide, was amazing!
Great tour with a great guide who enthusiastically shared her knowledge as we walked around. The underground aqueduct & history was awesome.
Sophia did an awesome job guiding the tour. Learned quite a bit and had fun seeing all the sights
Virginia had us all mesmerised by her infectious personality and abundant knowledge of Rome. She learnt all our names and constantly involved each person in her conversations. During a downpour she showed concern for our welfare but we were keen to continue our tour and see everything!! I loved it๐
This tour guide was patient as some of us got lost trying to get to the meeting spot. She was gracious and knowledgeable, providing us with a very informative tour despite the heat and crowds. Would def recommend!
Sofia was amazing! She showed us so many things we would have otherwise walked by. Great history- great tour. Highly recommend!
Our guide Ilaria was amazing, she had an abundance of knowledge and showed us so many cool pieces of history while thoroughly explaining all of it and answering any questions thoroughly. This is one of those lesser known experiences, but it is so so worth it.
Lots of walking. Depending on time of year, you have to deal with crowds. Very knowledgeable guide and easy to understand
This experience should not be missed! Being able to see the aqueducts underground was incredible! Frederica was an excellent guide!
What an amazing experience. Our tour guide was so passionate, knowledgeable and also funny which really made the experience amazing. We learnt so much and noticed things we never would have if it wasn't for the tour. I will definitely re-book with the same company next time we come to Rome.

We learnt so much about the area and noticed things we never would have if it wasn't for the tour. When we return to Rome we will definitely be booking with the same company to try out a different tour.
Our guide was so well informed and knowledgable, she made the tour exciting and interesting.
A fantastic, very sweet guide who knew everything!
Although it was hot, we enjoyed this walking tour. The highlight was the end of the tour when you saw the remnants of the aquaduct. Very informative tour.
