A really interesting and informative tour through a part of Rome I had never visited. Our guide (Valeria) was knowledgeable and passionate about the area and shared numerous insights to the architecture and culture behind the places we visited. The Jewish Ghetto area was and interesting and moving experience explained with sincere warmth and respect by our guide.

Itinerary
In this church we'll discover the first "hidden gem" of this tour: the Blessed Ludovica Albertoni by Bernini
This church was built where once lived one of the most famous saints of Rome: Saint Cecilia. Cecilia has a very interesting and dramatic story. She was a tough woman, and you'll learn of her resilience while we explore the many "layers" of this sight (this church is like a "lasagna"). After getting special access by the nuns, we'll be free to explore the underground site where we'll find her ancient apartment.
This narrow and beautiful alley is one of the most beautiful and peaceful corners of Rome. As well as being a very rich corner of history and secrets hiding in plain sight, such as the most ancient synagogue of Rome (which today houses a restaurant) and one of the most ancient athletes of Rome
An island in the heart of the river, in the heart of the city. Here you'll discover the place where only the true Romans are born and the bridge where Julius Caesar walked, most ancient in Rome.
This is the Jewish district, also known as "ghetto". In this little and picturesque neighborhood you'll discover the building that inspired the design of the Colosseum, some of the most food destinations of Rome and the story of the Jewish community of Rome, which is the most ancient Jewish community of Europe.

This tour was fabulous with Frederica. She was so engaging & entertained us with stories from beginning to end. You get to see a lot in this small group tour, it was very interesting. Thank you.
This was a very good tour. Just 4 of us and the guide. No big group, no "whisper" devices in the ear, no crowds, and very very informative. if I had known' how excellent the tour was I would have booked additional tours with LVG.
Federica is a wonderful tour guide. I've done a LOT of tours in Rome and she is one of those guides that brings the people and places she shows you to life. The way she talks about the historical facts is so interesting that you want to know more
An opportunity to have a more intimate experience of Rome outside the mega sites such as Vatican and Colliseum.
We probably wouldnโt have picked this particular tour, but the other 2 that I had wanted to book were fully booked. However, I would highly recommend this tour, as it was excellent. Our tour guide, Kieara, was fantastic, she was highly knowledgable and walked us through a part of Rome that we would never have thought of visiting. I would highly recommend this tour for something a bit different from the norm.
We had a wonderful tour with Frederica. She was very knowledgable and friendly. Her stories were interesting and we learned so much about Trastevere and the Jewish Ghetto and their history. Highly recommend!
Our guide was very knowledgeable and presented a terrific experience
Amazing guide, and tourโฆ So knowledgeable and approachable ๐ฏ percent rating
The guide was extremely knowledgeable. Really enjoyed the tour, highly recommended
Absolutely amazing experience. Learned a lot and would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to learn history of Rome in small group with an incredible guide.
Chaira was very pleasant, informative and a knowledgeable guide. I would definitely recommend her for people wanting a 5* experience
Had a wonderful time. Our tour guide Simon was fantastic, full of knowledge and historical facts, it was also great to experience different areas of Rome. Definitely ๐ฏ recommend
Giuliano was a wonderful guide as we walked through areas of Rome that we wouldnโt have found on our own. Food and wine were plentiful and delicious!
This tour took us through the neighborhoods of Trastevere and the Jewish Ghetto. Our guide, Valera, showed us hidden gems such as a Bernini and a convent that houses the remains of a saint. She brought to life the history of the area and her stories inspired us and reminded us the importance of remembering history. We loved this tour so much we signed up for another tour from Live Virtual Guides to visit Rome at Sunset. What I loved about this particular walking tour is the expertise of the guide, the small group, and the well curated sights that we would not have visited on our own.
Frangelica was knowledgeable and friendly. We saw things weโd never see on our own. The areas were not crowded, easy to see and very interesting! Iโd highly recommend to friends and family.
A fabulous experience. We learnt so much history in areas that we would have probably not visited. Walking around these places without a guide would mean you miss most of what happened here. Highly recommended.
Beautiful restful and nourishing escape from the hustle and bustle of the typical tourist sites with a charming guide .
We spent the morning hours with Frederica walking through some amazing areas of Rome where she pointed out features we would not normally see. A wonderful guide with a deep knowledge of the area and its secrets.
Federico was excellent, knowledgeable, entertaining and passionate about her subject.
A fantastic tour with a highly knowledgeable guide. The stories were fascinating and really added a lot of context to our understanding of Rome and its history. Thanks for a wonderful tour - would highly recommend. This along with the Capitoline Sunset tour we also did with the same guide were by far the best of several tours we have done in Rome.
Federica was a fantastic guide with so much information and knowledge.
Once you have seen all the "big" things in Rome, take some time to explore the off the beaten path streets and learn about the people and places that the tourist books don't mention. You'll have a fascinating time and learn so much, especially if Federica is your guide!
Very knowlegeable and sociable guide Federica combined historic facts of hidden parts of travestere and jewish gettoโฆgreat sights and great stories. Not to miss
We booked a private 2 hour tour of Jewish Ghetto one day for our group of 7. We also booked the following day a private three hour tour of Trastevere. Both tours were AMAZING! Weโve visited Rome before but Federica opened our eyes to see new hidden gems and her stories were fantastic! I highly recommend booking a walking tour with this company!
Very knowledgable, fun and pleasant guide!
This was a great tour. Federica is lovely and friendly. She is also very knowledgeable.
We had a great tour with a very pleasant and knowledgable guide Frederica. A great way to spend the morning moving through the lesser traveled parts of the city and reliving history!
Gem of a tour! Federica was incredible. She really brought the stories to life and had an amazing knowledge. The stops were off the beaten track and things we would have never otherwise discovered. It genuinely was a small group tour, no head sets needed and able to ask any questions you had. I would highly recommend - I only wish we had more time to do other tours offered by this company. Book it now!
What a gem of a tour!! Federica was incredible. She brought the stories of the places to life. This is properly a small group tour - no head sets, itโs truly wonderful. I only wish I knew that the company does other walking tours as I would have booked to do more. This is really the company to go with when in Rome. I could not recommend more highly. Book it now!!
Never had a better tour before. FedericaMarrone was an outstandig guide. In a relaxed atmosphere she led the pleasantly small groupto the well-known but also to manyhidden beautiesof the city of Rome. She explained facts in a humourus way and managed to captivate the attention of usthroughout the duration of the tour. She always asked us, if there were any questions about the subject we visited. In addition I must mention that she speaks very good Englishand her pronounciationis accent-free.Taht is very pleasant! Unfortunately we had regularly bad experiences with other guided tours in Rome. We stayed for eight days in Rome and so we booked another two guided tours with her. Whenever we will come back to Rome we will book all the other tours, which we weren't able to book because the lack of time. LVG Walking Tours are highly recomend to book!
Excellent tour getting to know Romeโs hidden history. Also great is the fact that the walking tours are limited to 12. Federica our tour guide was an enthusiastic story teller keeping us all engaged. I would definitely rebook another walking tour with LVG.
Frederica was an excellent guide! She brought us in and out of Trastevere. She made history super interesting and made the place alive! We loved that it was an interactive tour so there were a lot of questions and answers. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to go off the beaten path. Definitely amazing and happy yo start off our trip with their tour.
Simona is a great guide with so much knowledge
Federica was the best tour leader we have had in ANY country, but especially Rome. The tour group is small so you can really understand what she is saying and you feel her passion for the subject on which she is speaking. She is an excellent speaker and has vast knowledge of Trastevere and the Jewish Ghetto. She takes the time to answer your questions and she is wonderfully interactive and super knowledgeable. I was with four people and we all highly highly recommend this fascinating tour. If I could give it 10 stars, I definitely would!
Federica was wonderful. She was engaging and made the tour so personal and real. What a treat!
Federica was a great storyteller, speaking English clearly and is very obviously knowledgeable about the history of the region.
This was a very interesting visit to a part of Rome most people donโt visit. It was all interesting but if you are looking to understand the history of the Jews in Rome youโll find there is too little on the topic.
Fredericka is knowledgable, friendly, and enthusiastic. She encouraged questions and answered all of them. She told us about several hidden jems along the way from Trasevere to the Jewish Ghetto. This is the second tour with Fredericka and both were excellent. If we stayed longer in Rome we would take another tour with Virtual Guide.
The hidden gems and the wonderful explanations provided by Federica is awesome. She has the ability to to get you involved in the history the events that took place . She has so much knowledge of what you are seeing. She makes it exciting. We were thrilled to see the beautiful sculptures and the amazing paintings .Federica somehow brings Rome and its history into your heart. Please donโt miss any of her tours as we have taken a few over the years and she is our Favorite!
Thanks Frederica and team for the tour. The Jewish getto was really fascinating . Rome is so rich in history which just walking around we are not able to appreciate entirely . The tour was great. Thank you
We had the absolute pleasure of touring Trastevere with Valeria on the Hidden Gems of Trastevere Walking Tour, and it was hands-down the best tour weโve experienced in Romeโdespite visiting the city many times over the years. Valeria truly lives up to the promise of โhidden gems.โ She took us far beyond the typical tourist paths and into places we never would have discovered on our own. One of the highlights was seeing a small, tucked-away chapel that houses Gian Lorenzo Berniniโs final sculptureโan unforgettable and surprisingly intimate experience. We also visited Santa Cecilia in Trastevere, where Valeria brought history to life in a way that made the site deeply meaningful. Exploring the underground area believed to be Saint Ceciliaโs home added an entirely new dimension to the visitโit felt like stepping back in time. Her storytelling about the Jewish Ghetto was equally compelling. She connected history, culture, and personal insight in a way that made everything come alive and easy to understand. Valeria is knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about what she does. She struck the perfect balance between historical depth and an enjoyable, conversational style. If youโve been to Rome before and think youโve seen it allโthis tour will prove you wrong. We canโt recommend Valeria highly enough. This was a standout experience and an absolute must-do.
Our guide Sofia was excellent.... The tour was perfect with all the information she gave us about the Roman Empire & of course so many interesting notes about the places we visited....I highly recommend this tour ...my friends were satisfied & delighted with the guide Sofia
Excellent tour!!! Extremely engaging and interesting. Our guide, Frederica had a warm, inviting personality putting all participants at ease right from the start. She is super knowledgeable and was able to answer any questions we had. Her passion, story- telling ability to weave such a remarkable tapestry of life and history is quite astonishing. Frederica is truly an outstanding tour guide.
Excellent and informative tour! Frederica was well informed and very engaging. She had a delightful sense of humor and held and stimulated our interest in the history of sights. Highly recommend!
Our guide was amazing. She was pleasant and smart and informative.
We really enjoyed our tour of Trastevere and the Jewish Ghetto. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, and she made the tour feel like conversing with a local friend while walking through the city. We were told detailed stories about the history and people of each area we visited, which were so fascinating to listen to while seeing these sites in-person. Iโd love to do another tour!
The best Tour in Rome, I was so amazed that I booked another tour they had that day and I plan to book another one! 100% reccomend this agency. And their instagram is another top๐ป.
Fun and interesting tour showcasing the parts of Rome that are less touristy but equally worth visiting. Our guide Federica was very warm, friendly, and did a great job in explaining everything we got to see. Some of the sights have loads of stories to tell and our guide did well to walk us through each one.
Great tour with Federica. She clearly enjoys what she does and provided insights into how people lived here in Roman times, Middle Ages, and WWII. She demonstrated infectious enthusiasm and both her personality and the uniqueness of the tour showed quite clearly
