Tivoli Italian Gardens Private Day Tour From Rome

Family of 7 completed a private day trip to Tivoli. On time pick up from hotel. Accompanied with a very good driver Peter who is knowledgeable and enthusiastic to share his knowledge about Rome and Tivoli. Peter Recommended a superb restaurant Sibilla for lunch at the old town. It was most relaxing n the meal was delicious. Best Rome drivers also arranged a very good guide for us to visit Hadrian’s Villa. Without the guide, it would not be a meaningful visit. We had such a fantastic time with our driver Paolo- he was on time, a safe driver and a very warm & engaging host. We had a wonderful day and loved our extra stop to see the waterfall & lunch recommendation. This was a fantastic way for our family to spend our last day in Italy.

My wife and I had an excellent time for the private Tivoli day tour. Our driver and guide was Peter and he was truly excellent. Peter was punctual, professional, and friendly. He provided great background on local culture, history, and details of what we were experiencing. Peter spoke English well and we had no problem with communication. He is also a great driver and we felt very safe with him. Would definitely recommend him and his company to our friends and family going to Italy!

Wonderful day trip escape from Rome. Our driver, Stefano, was punctual, courteous, and professional. Made lunch reservation for us at the Sibilla Restaurant with a gorgeous view. Waited for at all 3 locations. Our guide, Catarina, was patience, knowledgeable, and wonderful with my children. They price was a little bit high but definitely worth it for a relaxing and frictionless experience for our family.

Peter was both an excellent driver and an excellent companion/guide for the day. Kind, funny, smart, tons of knowledge about everything we saw. We’re so glad he took us to Tivoli and we’d recommend this tour to anyone. It was so much easier to have a driver. Truly an unforgettable day.

We booked a tour of Tivoli and it was terrific. Our driver, Stefano, was great! He knows about Rome and Tivoli and was a great guide on the way to Tivoli and back to central Rome. He was on time and polite but his tour guide level knowledge of Rome and the surrounding areas really made it a great trip. He also took us to the airport and was again on time and polite and a wonderful conversationalist. Best Rome Driver is not cheap but they aren't the most expensive either and well worth it for us. They also got us a wonderful guide to Tivoli, Catarina. She was born there and knows the place intimately. Really made a huge difference in our enjoyment of both the Villa Adriana and the VIlla D'Este. She customized our tour to our interests and spoke excellent English. Recommend both Stefano and Catarina highly.

Great driver who was knowledgeable about the area. She was extremely courteous and helpful. The guide which we arranged through the agency was excellent. The suggested restaurant was very food with a fabulous view of an ancient temple. The two villas we visited, one ancient Roman and the other 16th century were amazing. A well worth day trip from Rome.

Alessandro was an excellent tour guide and took good care my husband and I. He arrive at our hotel early. The Mercedes van was clean, bottled water was provided and Alessandro was a safe driver. We had a great time at Hadrian’s Villa and Tivoli Fountains and Gardens. Alessandro secured the best seat for us at a lovely restaurant for lunch. He also brought us for Gelato before heading back to our hotel. He speaks English and is fun to chat with and comfortable to be with. We highly recommend this private tour and Alessandro was a delight to spend time with.

This was a perfect day. Stefano was so accommodating and nice. We loved the villas and the restaurant he recommended and reserved for us in Tivoli. A very enjoyable tour.

Excellent driver Great great recommendation for lunch

Our driver, Giuliano, was a safe and efficient driver, very pleasant, and gave us excellent advice as he transported us to Hadrian's Villa, and Tivoli Gardens. He was 100% on time and gave us good instructions for the day. A tour and and tickets were not included, as plainly specified, so buy your tickets online for admission.

This was the most wonderful experience. For a long time my husband and I were the only ones there and there was just the crunch of our footsteps on the gravel. Our driver Paolo was fantastic and recommended a great place for lunch after about 3.5 hrs walking. This is such a great visit. Few people do it because it’s out of Rome but I totally recommend it despite this and the cost. With this, and lunch, and a later visit to Villa D’Este it was a totally wonderful day made more wonderful because Paolo is such a great driver and very friendly. ( Note: when we travel we prefer to have a driver only and no guide)

The garden at Villa D’Este is exceptional. Villa Adriana is amazing too. Suggest you also use the Villae Pass and go to the third location, which is less touristy but worth the visit.

We had a wonderful day visiting Tivoli with Giuliano as our driver. He is very informative, very kind and patient and gave us a great recommendation for an outstanding lunch. We will book again next time we are in Rome!

Our driver and guide was Salvatore and he was fabulous. He gave us a great overview of the day, was very engaging and provided safe transportation. Our lunch at Sybila Restaurant was delicious. The pace of the day was perfect for us. However, Adriana’s Villa is huge and to be thorough would require more than two hours. The interior of the villa Estee could be skipped in favor of spending the two hours in the gardens. The fountains are spectacular.

Had a great day visiting Tivoli, Italy. Alex Paolini was our fantastic driver. He was knowledgeable, punctual and obviously loves what he does. He brought us right to the door each time, had water and snacks for us. The van was clean and the drive was enjoyable. We learned a lot.

Giuliano was a gem. Nothing was too difficult for him, especially with a young adult who has special needs. The highlight of the trip was lunch at a beautiful historical restaurant. We highly recommend this trip to Tivoli. Giuliano was very well-informed & a kind, caring gentleman.

Do not leave Rome without escaping the busy city for a magical day in the medieval hilltop town of Tivoli! You must request *Stefano* as he was so kind, and provided a lot of interesting information throughout our drive and between stops. We first visited Hadrians's Villa, and as these ruins are all outdoors, Stefano was thoughtful of the heat to bring us earlier in the day. His communication was excellent on WhatsApp and he booked a lunch reservation for us in a beautiful, delicious restaurant (Sybilla). We had a little extra time before lunch so he drive us to an amazing viewpoint over the waterfalls and town, and to visit a church for pictures and an extra experience. As Stefano explained, Villa d'Este is a newer estate from with an indoor portion and gardens with lovely fountains. Our teenagers tired of the long walks, and Stefano was understanding when we wanted to end a bit earlier, as well as very flexible for a different drop-off point back in Rome as we decided to visit the Capuchin crypt before returning to our hotel. Grazie Stefano for a perfect family day!

My wife and I had a wonderful day trip from Rome to Tivoli! Stefano, our driver, was excellent! He was helpful and informative about many aspects of our trip, and he gave us some great recommendations for other days as well. When we had a little time before our lunch reservation, we took a quick, unplanned ride to see some beautiful views, and he captured an incredible picture of us with an amazing background. Lunch was an amazing spat with an incredible view that we never would have found by ourselves. When it rained unexpectedly, he was prepared with umbrellas so we could stay on our track with our tour of. Villa D’Este, which was gorgeous.

Amazing experience, my driver was Stefano. He was super professional and knowledgeable. He had an extreme amount of experience with various regions of Italy, aswell as very well cultured and traveled. Stefano made for excellent conversation (making the hour long drive go by in a flash) We arrived everywhere timely and had plenty of time to explore Tivoli. He even showed us some local sights, including a gorgeous waterfall we stopped at for a few minutes. Topped it off with an amazing restaurant he booked for us, which had some of the best food I’ve had in Italy. If you’re looking for a convenient, hassle free (and superior) way to get out of Rome and see Tivoli, this is the way to go.

Very nice day trip out of Rome. Hadrians villa spectacular, be prepared for a lot of walking. We had a superb lunch at Sibilla in Tivoli dining outside next to a Roman temple. Our driver Giuliano was fabulous. He was an excellent driver, very friendly and knowledgeable. We had so much fun with him. Villa d’Estes huge, gorgeous rooms and ceilings. Lots of stairs and ramps to the fountains but beautiful.

Informative, relaxing with amazing guide. Guide was very warm, friendly, knowledgeable and amazing human being. Love it from beginning to the end. Lunch arrangement was perfect, in small town on the top of the hills. Perfecto!

Beatrice was our driver and she was pleasant, very knowledgeable, and a real joy to be with. Her history of Rome, its beginnings, along with her ability to speak fluently in English was impressive and made for a delightful experience. I had an issue with the admission tickets to Tivoli and she communicated with the ticket agent in Italian and also helped with conversation when I had to contact Viator directly. Everyone used seat belts at her recommendation and without a doubt she was one of the best guides we have ever had. I loved her leather necklace and before saying “goodbye” to her, she removed it from her neck and put it on mine!!! A totally amazing lady!!

What a great experience. The gardens in Tivoli were wonderful to see, but Stefano made it truly memorable. He made picking us up easy, was an incredible narrator while we drove past sites in Rome along the way and got us a table at a great restaurant with a million dollar view.

This was a solo, private journey to the stunningly beautiful countryside and two Tivoli Italian Gardens, less than an hour from Rome, with an amazing, local and very knowledgeable driver! My driver, Salvatore, grew up in Tivoli and his parents still live near there, so he’s intimately familiar with the area, which was obvious! He picked me up at my hotel. We drove from Rome to Tivoli. He pointed out the sights along the way. He asked if I’d like him to make lunch plans for me. A Concierge at the Rome Marriott Hotel Grand Flora, with whom I’d spoken the day before, had done the same. She had already made me a reservation near Villa d’Este at Ristorante Sibilla, which she highly recommended. Salvatore laughed and said that was the place he was going to recommend as well! He took me first to Villa Adriana. He walked me to the ticket office, helped me exchange my pre-purchased electronic ticket for a ticket, and helped me purchase the audio tour. They require an ID for that, which they hold until the audio box is returned. I had only my passport and was reluctant to leave that, so Salvatore gave them his ID. I was instructed to exchange the audio box for his ID at the ticket office when I was done, before I met him at the car. More on that later! He told me where all of the toilet facilities are located, pointed out the entry gate, told me where to meet him when I was done, and gave me his phone number. I walked around the corner to the closest toilets, and he went back to the car. As I stood at the end of the line of women who had gotten off a big bus, I wondered if the line would take too long and if I should skip that toilet and go to the next one. Before I could make up my mind, he came around the corner and told me to do that. He had been listening to something and realized there was a long line at the toilet. He was extremely helpful and proactive like this during the whole trip! I was in awe of my surroundings during my entire walk around Villa Adriana! It was more amazing in person than I had imagined! But I’ll let you research that part on the internet! I texted with Salvatore a few times when I realized that I was going to be late getting back to the gate (I was lost … needed a GPS instead of a paper map!). He reassured me that I could take my time! He’d be there waiting! No rush! After I returned to his car, stunned by what I had seen, still holding the audio box and not holding his ID), he had me sit down in the car and he made the exchange himself. Next, he took me on a drive to see the beauty of the Tivoli area, complete with waterfalls, the first hydropower plant in Europe, and lots more picture-taking! After a tour of the Tivoli area, he took me to Ristorante Sibilla. He told me it’s been in business since 1720, it’s a family business and he knows the family! He parked and then walked me across the bridge to the restaurant and got me seated at an outdoor table instead of the indoor table that I’d reserved, worried about rain. It was a beautiful day, and the weather was perfect for enjoying the beautiful and dramatic scenery outdoors. He said he’d be back after lunch to get me. I had a delicious lunch – breads with a tapenade, a Pear + Walnut salad and Eggplant Parmigiana (always one of my favorite dishes). I wish I could have their Eggplant Parmigiana recipe! I took lots of amazing photos while I waited to be served + between courses. The location was breathtaking! Salvatore retrieved me after lunch and walked me back to the car. He drove me to Villa d’Este. Again, he parked, showed me where he’d be waiting for me, said to call or text if I couldn’t find him, walked me to the Villa, helped me with my ticket and the audio tour, and left his ID for them to hold. Villa d’Este was as amazing as Villa Adriana, but in a totally different way. I’ll let you look that up on the internet as well! This time, I remembered to turn in the audio box and retrieve his ID before I departed the Villa. I met Salvatore back at the car. We had a wonderful drive back to Rome, and he again pointed out the sights along the way. I arrived safe and happy back at my hotel after one of the most enjoyable and amazing days! A perfect last day for my trip! Salvatore is absolutely THE BEST! He’s a very knowledgeable, personable, thoughtful, kind and caring person as well as an excellent driver! I can’t wait to go back and ride with him again!

Giuliano was amazing. He was such a kind and informative chauffeur. He provided prompt pick up from our hotel. He was very patient with us, as my husband and I had our two young sons and my father with us. He shared stories and lots of information as we drove from Rome to Tivoli, and answered all of our questions. Between stops, he brought us to a beautiful restaurant where we enjoyed a delicious meal, before heading to the next portion of the trip. We had a fantastic day with our gracious guides with Alex driving and Caterina as our Tivoli guide. Very friendly and warm, we had a wonderful day at the Villas at Tivoli and it was nice to get out of Rome.

We truly enjoyed our day visiting Handrian's Villa & Villa d'Este. Our private car was a very comfortable Mercedes SUV and the driver was very courteous and smooth. (Very different from Rome's taxi experiences.) From our experience, we were surprised that there wasn't a tour guide for us at Villa Adriana as noted in the listing. Villa d'Este, you are there to enjoy the fountains, so you don't need a guide. This is my only critique as I loved the experience, but we clearly needed a guide at Villa Adriana and were surprised when we were just let out of the car.
