Amazing. One of our favourite days in Italy. Our guide Irina was simply wonderful. Knowledgeable and friendly. Not only did we get to understand more about Rome local food but we enjoyed some sites as well and tasted new things.

We spent a lovely evening with our guide Alessia. She explained Romes traditional dishes to us and even had so many tipps beyond that for us. We had different tastings at six different restaurants. Alessia explained the different dishes and the history and regional differences while making sure everyone is happy. We can only recommend that tour!
Our guide Carla Saetti was extraordinary. So knowledgeable about the history and culture of Rome. Taking us to the various piazzas in old town, sampling the local food. I felt immersed !!! Thank you! Best tour in Italy!!! What an ambassador for your city!!
Mauro was excellent, we learned so much about the Roman culture and aye the most fabulous food! Would definitely recommend.
Ilaria was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide who took us to the most authentic spots to taste the traditional foods of Rome. Bring your appetite! Everything is amazing. She also provided the history behind each recipe. Afterwards she provided a list of her recommendations for the best food spots. High recommend
Iliara was friendly and knowledgeable about the food we were eating and the traditions associated with it. Everything was delicious and there was plenty to eat.
Luca was our guide for the day. He brought us to local places trying out local Roman food we otherwise wouldn’t have tried or known. It was a walking tour and he set a good pace. It was an enjoyable day all around.
Luca was an awesome host and guide of this 3-hour tour. There were only 3 of us on this particular tour so it was really like hiring a personal guide! We traveled the narrow streets of Trastevere and sampled a wonderful variety of delicious Roman specialties. Luca's knowledge of the history of the area and his easy-going manner made this comfortably-paced tour one of the best we've done. He has great relationships with the vendors and you can tell Luca really loves what he does.
A perfect three-hour tour of great Roman food, enriched with stories from Barbara, who talks about the Trastevere district through the lens of her favorite spots. The places we visited for food are authentic, often without signs and impossible for a tourist to find on their own. Barbara, thank you and congratulations!
It was perfekt :) Thanks to Carla!
This was a great experience to kickoff our visit to Rome. We loved wandering the streets and getting a sense of a neighbourhood and learning about the city and its special spots. Carla was outstanding. She shared history, insights, culinary background on our stops and all along the way. She answered our questions and kept our teenaged son highly engaged (!). This set us up for the rest of the week for what we wanted to try and (in our own minds) we were a little closer to eating like locals. Highly recommend and huge kudos to Carla!
Fabulous walking and food tour in Trastevere. Our guide Barbara was very knowledgeable and the food was excellent. Highly y.
Mauro was a great tour guide. He was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The food was diverse choices. Well worth the money.
This is a great way to nibble your way through a famous neighborhood of Rome! I got to try food I hadn’t ever had before and it covered the spectrum from sweet to savory. Almudena is an excellent tour guide and she took me to places I never would have found on my own. She truly knows where the hidden gems are. I highly recommend this tour.
Had an awesome time with our great tour guide, Carla! She offered some brief education while walking along the route, educated us on the local culture and took us for tastings at 5 different incredible locations ranging from cookies at a locally famous bakery to taste some special porcetta and carbonara, ending some of the best gelato I've had in Italy. Great way to learn more about Trastevere and taste some great foods with a friendly and knowledgeable local!
Almudena, was sweet and welcoming. She was informative and considerate of all our needs. The food was very good. Definitely, do not eat breakfast before going.
The tour was an amazing mixture of local neighborhood culture and history and actual food tasting. It was an appropriare length, the tastes were finely selected and explained, and the guide (Barbara) was very knowledgeable of the localities overall. The six stops on the way were plenty enough to go for a full meal.
guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant although does not live in neighboorhood very informative. like the off the beaten path locations especially cookies and cheese stop
Barbara was great! Got to experience true traditional Italian foods. The amazing family run bakeries and restaurants we could never have found on our own. It was a delight to hear all the different historical stories from a local. We very much enjoyed our time with you Barbara!
Barbara was amazing! She was friendly, knowledgable about the local neighborhoods, and gave great recommendations for restaurants in the area we were staying. The tour was equal parts fun and delicious. From the suppli to the gelato, everything was fantastic!
We had a wonderful tour with Meghan in the Trastevere neighborhood. We enjoyed the all of the items we tasted along with the feel of the neighborhood.
Food was great! Some small places you would normally not stop by. Barbara gave some great advice as well for the rest of our trip. It is more a foodtour than a wine tour.
Our guide Leo was awesome. He took us to the best local spots. He made the tour fun and memorable. The food was great we would definitely do it again.
On our tour, we visited food places we would have never found. All the samples were delicious. You needed a tour to explore this area. It was busy with people enjoying them selves.
I highly recommend this for anyone coming to Rome on vacation. Our tour guide Mauro was amazing and brought us to many local spots, while also teaching us about Roman culture. All of the food was incredible and very much worth the price. You get to eat at places you probably would never think to, many of them family owned.
This was a nice introduction to Italian specialties. Our guide (Martina) was very thorough in her details of the various foods and very personable. There was a fair amount of walking. My only criticism would be that for several of the stops we ate standing outside by the street which wasn’t an issue for us but could be for older people.
Fabuloso! Mauro was superb. He guided us through the Trastevere neighborhood like a true local. Taking us to hidden gems we would have never tried on our own.! Definitely recommend!!!
Best guided tour. The guide new the best places to eat. She was very nice and fun. I will recommend the tour if you don’t know the Trastevere area.
The tour guide was very friendly & made our time together quite enjoyable. The food was Ok but a bit less impressive than expected.
Our tour guide Stefani was Expectional and made it so easy for us to Relax. She explained everything in detail has so much knowledge in the cuisine industry. Would definitely recommend to my friends and family. Thank you Viator 🥰
Martina was wonderful. The food was delicious!!! I will be dreaming of that food for a long time. Seeing all the sights in Rome is wonderful but can be exhausting. This was more relaxing and fun.
Martina was the best. She was sweet and accommodating. It was hot and we were tired. Family of 5, three young adults. Food options were very authentic AND Tasty. We did the evening tour. About 3 hours perfect amount of walking and local customs covered extremely well!
Great tour! Great food! Martina was great! Very knowledgeable and friendly! I came with my mother and daughter. We all really enjoyed the tour.
What an incredible experience! Martina was our kind for a small group food tour of Rome (it was myself and a couple on the tour). She was extremely pleasant, great conversation and knowledgeable! She created a wonderful evening with only the best vibes. I would highly recommend the tour and her as the guide, and would sign up next time I’m here!
Our guide Roberta, shared local history and also the food tastings were excellent at each of the stops we made. We would do this tour again.
Martina led our small group tour and was fabulous! Her passion for both food and wine was infectious. We tasted wonderful offerings that are beloved to Romans while traveling through the wonderful bustling streets of the city. Thanks, Martina, for a wonderful time!
Luca and Roberta showed us real Rome. Eat and drank everything, almost. The walk around Trastevere to see the city was also a plus. This tour kicked off our time in Rome and was so worth it.
Cannot recommend this tour highly enough. Jennifer was an excellent guide and gave us some great background to the area whilst choosing some wonderful food for us to sample. Lots of new things to try and certainly plenty to eat. First class.
Jennifer was amazing as our tour guide for Trastevere! Her knowledge of both Italian and American language, customs, and food made this tour spectacular! She taught us words and phrases that are actually used, and really helped us find true Italian restaurants (not tourist spots) for our stay in Rome. The selections she chose for us to sample were all delicious and the places she took us to were rich in tradition and community. Just spectacular; Thanks so much, Jennifer!
Daniel, the guide, was very personable and knowledgeable of the food, history, traditions, locations...everything. Great introduction to the food and history our 2nd day in Rome! Fun to meet people from other countries that were in our group, for a different perspective. HIGHLY recommend. Walking was doable and the area is beautiful and vibrant at night! we returned to some of the locations on our return trip to Rome. so fun!!! thank you!!!
We had a delightful and delicious 2-mile, 4- hour, 8-course Bites of Rome Tour with our charming host Daniele. He was knowledgable and personable as he led our tour of four people on a gastronomic and historic journey through one of Rome's most popular neighborhood's charming shops and eclectic restaurants. From the biscotti and cheese/prosciutto plate to the rice balls and Roman-style pizza to the three unique toppings on our pasta with local wine, we enjoyed each stop. Just when we thought it could not get better, we had fresh fruit gelato with intense and pure flavors. If you really want to experience Rome, book a food tour!
we are not foodies, and yet we enjoyed the place so much. Trastevere is a must see and Daniele a must have. he is most charming and friendly, and has a temperament to make everyone happy no matter what age. my dad mom, me my son. he is truly informative, adapts to each person, and patiently walks through the place with stories and laughter. absolutely delighted.
Trastevere, to me is the best of Rome with its quaint streets, and foods of every kind. Daniele, our guide, was amazing and so very knowledgable about the food, the history - all of it. Good natured and good humored, every place we visited had a special little story behind each stop. From the bakery to the cheese and meat shop to the suppli to the chicory/cod morritza (?) to the carbonara with cardito vino and then ending with true gelato - wow! So satisfying! Thank you Daniele!
My husband & I enjoyed the food tour immensely (despite the unusually rainy weather).😊 Our guide Daniel was very informative & entertaining and quite considerate of people's diet restrictions. My husband and I liked the order of the shops we visited & the portion sizes offered. If we had to choose a favorite, it would be Eggs & Antica Caciara. But everything we tasted was delicious I highly recommend this tour!
On the 20th of May my husband and I went on a food walking tour through Trastevere. Our guide was Daniele and he was excellent! Very personable and very knowledgeable not only about the foods we were tasting, but Rome in general. Each place we stopped was better than the last. Overall a very delightful experience!
Daniel our tour guide was very pleasant and very knowledgeable of the Trastevere neighborhood and its history. We tasted everything from cookies to pasta and wine and more, ending with an authentic taste of Italian gelato. If you have the time I highly recommend taking this food tour!
This is a definite must for food lovers looking for both the history of this area of Rome, as well as some of the places off the beaten path. My wife and I lucked out and were the only people on this tour. Our guide, Matteo, discussed the history of the Jewish Ghetto where we began, and then about Trastevere's history past and present. The spots he brought us to were long owned family businesses who paid attention to detail while being able to still adjust to the times. We had great discussions with him as we walked, and learned not only about Trastevere, but about his life as a Roman, his American girlfriend, and his ambitions and transition from journalist to guide. This was his first solo tour, but it did not seem like that to us at all! We hope to keep in touch with him in the future just to catch up. We sampled awesome Brutti ma Buoni (Ugly but Good) cookies at Innocenti, a variety of meats and cheeses at Antica Caciara and in the farmer's market, Carbonara (with guanciale) the way it should be at Eggs for lunch, and then topped it off with authentic gelato at Fior di Luna (and learned that authentic gelato colors should match the ingredients, not be become bright neon colors due to food colorings and additives, so beware!). If you have the half day to spare in Rome, definitely partake in this tour, it is so worth it!
Amazing foodie tour. Our tour guide Daniele was friendly and informative. It was a nice small group, which made it a lot more interactive. Great way to try the local cuisine and get to know the Trastevere area. Highly recommended!
We had a great time on this tour. The Trastavere is an enchanting neighborhood and our experience on this tour was amazing. Daniel was an amazing guide. We learned a lot and tasted a LOT!!! I would say this tour is a must to get to see another side of Rome. Really amazing!
