Giuseppe was a wonderful guide who kept us well informed - it was a very efficient way to see the highlights. It is so crowded in there (both with amazing art and so very many people) that I was very glad not to be attempting it on my own.

Learn about the Basilica Julia and the penal system of Ancient Rome and its effects on Christianity. Discover the ruins of the largest building in the Roman Forum that became an inspiration for many buildings built afterward, including New York City's former Penn Station.
Marvel at the details of the Arch of Titus that provided the inspiration for the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
Be impressed by the remains of the largest temple in Ancient Rome and enjoy the best view of the Colosseum.
Walk the paths of the Roman Emperors while visiting the hill where the legend of Romulus and Remus places the foundation of the city: the Palatine Hill. Learn how it later became one of the most exclusive areas of Ancient Rome and enjoy breathtaking views over the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
From the heights of the Palatine Hill, enjoy a bird's eye view over what is considered to have been the largest structure for public games ever built by mankind, the Circus Maximus. Let your guide drive your imagination through chariot races, gladiator fights, and the clamor of the public. Learn about the famous Roman Games and travel back in time to a quasi-legendary era before Rome itself and find out the Circus’s foundations in the early myths and Gods. If you get Mario as your guide be prepared to have a GREAT time. Mario brought wonderful humor into the history tour. He’s by far as memorable as Palatine Hill. Using Viator was a great way to bypass the long lines
Terrific tour! our guide gave us a real feel for the history behind the temples, arches, and buildings throughout the Forum - he was very knowledgeable and also had a great sense of humor! My husband had some mobility issues which he took into account and kindly gave direction to us! All in all a fantastic experience!
This tour was top notch! Our guide Eleanora moved us along early so we were the FIRST to the Colosseum floor and FIRST to get pictures/views before the crowds poured in. She was funny and informative. I’ve been to the Colosseum on my own, and this tour is 100% the way to go. You won’t have to fight the mobs of tourists and you’ll learn and laugh. Highly recommend!!
Francesca was very warm and personable. She has a great personality. She is knowledgeable and engaging.
It was very hot but the guide kept us very interested and stayed longer as it took a little while to get in, very informative
Tour of Palatine Hill and Roman forum was excellent. Our guide Francesca was very knowledgeable. She made the experience with our small group extremely enjoyable. Definitely worth the time.
Purchased the " small group tour of Roman forum, Palatine Hill and Circus Maximus specifically because my husband races horses and made circus maximus his top sights to see. The small group tour combined people with differently named tours together. Our guide walked us through Roman forum and up to a lookout point at which time we realized that we're not only not going to circus maximus but could not see it, as the lookout point was on the wrong side. Our guide said he never does circus maximus and suggested we walk back with him to speak to the tour operator. The other people in our group had to do the same as their tour was supposed to have circus maximus. We were on top of palatine hill for less than 5 minutes before the guide walked us back, which was a huge disappointment as there is so much to see there. Back at the kiosk we were told that there is " nothing to see at circus maximus" and that we could have seen it from top of palatine hill. Both of those are incorrect as our guide did not have time to walk us to a place on the hill to see circus maximus. We ended waking over to circus maximus and did a wonderful tour with vr goggles and guide. Would highly recommend. Later that day we also did a separate tour of palatine Hill and were amazed how much was there to see . Don't let your guide only take you to the one lookout, there is so much more there. I'm extremely dissatisfied with the original tour, as it was very pricy and we got so little experience for it.
Excellent tour guide which was humourous and had lots of interesting bits of information. We got a lot out of the tour. Highly recommended.
Our tour was wonderful. Daniele V was a great guide, born and raised in Rome. The area was crowded but he got us around most of the people (“Roman Traffic”). We have been to Rome several times but we learned many new things. The small group tour was a great idea. Unfortunately the cit government has placed more restrictions on the underground part of the Colosseum so we were not able to view those parts. Daniele’s love of guiding shows and I would highly recommend him.
Enjoyed the tour with Rosy, an excellent guide. Booking it was simple and the information that came with the ticket was very useful. Also appreciated being able to upload it into my wallet. One day earlier we were informed that the start of the tour was moved from 11:30 to 11:00, which suited us fine.
Great to learn more about Rome and the Coliseum centuries ago. Carmelo our guide was excellent - well worth the time spent!
Mario was amazing! He was very knowledgeable and even kept my teens entertained. Was worth every pemny. Thank you for a great tour!
The roman forum left us speechless! Very beautiful. We already did a tour at the colosseum with this company, top service
Tom was sensational, incredible. His energy, passion, knowledge, accuracy of dates/times/people/locations was astounding. I was fact checking some of his comments and whoa - 10 for 10 - he doesn’t skip a beat. He didn’t let down for even 5 minutes - each moment was jam packed with history and nuance and true reliving of the Roman Life, Politics, Culture, Drama, Facts. I will honestly say that our first guide ( a female archeologist with Tourik) of Italian decent was like a hungover dead fish - she wild rather be anywhere in the world other than with us lousy tourist showing us one of the worlds most prominent landmarks the Colosseum. Our second guide for Palatine Hill was Tom - he is an English Man. A brilliant historian. A humanist. A man who cares deeply about our experience and gave us beyond his best. TOM IS A WONDER OF ITALY.
Probably the highlight of our trip to Rome the tour guide Tom was informative and entertaining and really made the history come alive around you . I would thoroughly recommend the Touriks team ,well done guys and thank you
tour was a small group led by an archiologist who was extremely descriptive and knowledgeable about the area. the underground was the highlight, very interesting. would recommend
Our tour guide Emily, an archaeologist, was brilliant and extremely knowledgeable. She gave a very eloquent, vivid and detailed insight into the history of the colosseum, laced with relevant historical aspects of Rome at the time and it's different leaders. Kept us interested and engaged the whole way. Gave us a true insight into what it would have been like to be there in Roman times. Highly recommend this tour and guide! Thanks for a wonderful afternoon.
I joined this tour with my partner in January. The organization by Touriks worked well, we were met and greeted by a nice representive at the Train station by the Colosseum. She guided us through the back entry and handed us over to the guide there and she also picked us up after the tour and handed us over to the second guide for the Palatine tour. Unfortunately the time plan is a bit rough. The colosseum tour took a bit longer than planned, but it was great that we had access to all areas, went into the foundation, on the arena platform, skipped the most crowded area and went up to the upper floors and belvedere. The guide was very knowledgable, but a bit hard to understand. After that tour we were handed over to a great guide named Tom, who gave us in as small group (just 6 people) an awesome, informative and funny tour on the Palatine down to the Forum. Unfortunately, as we were already late, the forum just closed when our tour was over and we had no time left to explore the forum on our own. However, Tom offered that we can get free tickets for the next day to visit it on our own, but it was our last day in Rome. All in all, it was well worth it, we have seen a lot, but I would recommend to start the tour in the morning, so you´ll have enough time after the tour.
Giving something 5/5 implies perfection. Our tours of the Coliseum (Serena) and the Forum (Yelena) were both excellent. Serena had to battle a gale to entertain, educate and inform us, but she did so with great skill. Yelena didn't have to battle the weather, but also did a fantastic job. Both ladies spoke eloquently and knowledgeably, and answered all questions fully. Both were wonderful English speakers, with very clear diction and delivery. If you want to get the most out of a visit to both these sites, I recommend asking Touriks to be on their tours. The history of ancient Rome is utterly fascinating, with so many parallels with today, and both Serena and Yelena clearly know their stuff.
Our group of six toured the Palatine Hill and Roman Forum with Tom. The tour was excellent in every respect. Well-structured, humorous, engaged. The tour has a real structure and is compelling in every respect. Tom is happy to talk and answer questions, and always with good humor. Very knowledgeable--but was so approachable. So glad I was able to learn about Roman history and these sights with Tom. Very organized pick up and drop off. Five stars, absolutely.
I make no apology that I have the attention span of a goldfish, and after 6 days of historical Rome I was a little brain-fogged over ruins, dates, Emperors and who is related to whom. However, our guide English Tom was fantastic: he delivered a very interesting and humorous snapshot of history, in a vivid and pictorial way, that kept me engaged rather than glazing over and wondering what was for lunch. The story he told of the Romans and the progression from Republic to Empire was well pitched. Hey, I might even have remembered some of it (unusual for me!). I highly recommend finding out which tour Tom does and booking in for that.
Touring with our guide Nick was like being shown an incredible place by a good friend. This friend however is like that history professor you WISH you had in college. He is passionate about the subject, has a great sense of humor, and obviously loves his job. You will leave awestruck with a better understanding of this place's contemporary significance.
Just finished a tour with the most knowledgeable Roman Historian. Tom, (who is English by the way) brought Ancient Rome to life, I thought I knew about roman History but Wow, what I didn’t know. Loved it Loved it Loved it, absolutely recommend this to anyone and everyone!!!!
Very good guides with a wide knowledge of the monuments and curious facts that do not tell you elsewhere also were very friendly
We had booked a tour for the Forum Romanum and Colloseum, but unfortunately there was rain and thunderstorms, but we were able to change the tour of the Forum Romanum to the next day, and we then explored the Colosseum ourselves with audio guide after the rain. Our guide was super prepared and shows us pictures of how the forum used to look and told us a lot about Roman history. That was very informative and entertaining.
The coliseum with Alessandro was excellent, made the tour very fun and enjoyable with lots of information, then we went with Norys!! And despite the fatigue it was not noticed made it very enjoyable to the tour and with interesting comments !!! Highly recommended !!!!! We had a great time. Elena accompanied us in the Vatican a pleasure... without waste
