Daniel’s tour was very interesting and he did a great job of mixing in some humor if you listened carefully.

The guide Mario was outstanding. We were fortunate to have joined a tour that only had 4 guests on it. This made for easy communication and all guests could see what Mario was speaking about at the same time. Strong command of the languages and able to clearly articulate the many details of the catacombs and instil an understanding of what they meant to the civilizations that developed them. He did all of that with a great sense of humour. He answered questions and provided insight and perspective. Highly recommended tour.

We had a wonderful time in the ancient catacombs alongside our tour guide, Mario. He had an extensive knowledge of the catacombs, their purpose, and their history and was able to relate it to the group with ease. He captured small details that one might otherwise miss. Highly recommend this tour.

The tour was okay, the guide was not the best. The redeeming factor was that it was cool in the catacombs which was a relief from the outside temperature.

This tour was awesome! Especially in a 104 degree heat wave - the underground space is cool and interesting. Francesca (our tour guide) was so knowledgeable, personable, and made sure our group had a great experience despite there being multiple field trips at the catacombs at the same time as us. Met with agency sign on street (helpful if looking for storefront). Excellent guide - Daniel who was knowledgeable, welcoming, and had a great dry sense of humor. The catacombs were cold! (16C/61F). Gift shop on site, toilettes, and seats inside the basilica, if tired. Many other groups there but just shuffled about. Daniel had a flash light, we could use our phone flashlight but no pics allowed. Mildly ‘dark’ due to touring graves (shouldn’t be surprising) and my children did ok, however when I did this tour the year prior with 70 middle schoolers, there was a kiddo having an existential crisis - which was surprising.

It was a great experience and amazing to see. It was perfect to go in the afternoon when it was hot outside!

While the tour of the forum was good and the guide was great, not having a guide in the colliseum was very disappointing. We were told guides were not permitted and once we got in there were many groups with guides.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Rome and the catacombs. He was professional and friendly to everyone. We had 3 young children (ages 3 to 9), so the express tour was perfect for their attention span. Overall, our family had a fun time exploring the catacomb.

Tour was mildly interesting, but not what was expected since there were not really any bones - mostly just some holes in the walls and some frescoes. No photos allowed at all. It also says it's 2 hours but it was closer to 1.5 with half of that being drive time to/from the catacombs site.

Fascinating exploration of the catacombs of Rome. Daniel spoke perfect English and was a history geek extraordinaire. I learned more about the beginnings of Christianity on this tour than a similar tour of the Basilica of St Peter. I highly recommend you include this tour on your trip to Rome.

My wife and I really enjoyed Catacombs tour and our Tour Guide, Dan, was excellent. Dan was not only extremely knowledgeable of the history of the Catacombs, but also had a very unique and welcoming personality. He was very kind and down to earth and made everyone on the tour feel very welcome. I also enjoyed his sense of humor. Great Tour Guide!

We really enjoyed this tour. The catacombs are beautiful and haunting at the same time. When you see the map of how far the tunnels stretch you will be amazed.

We had the tour scheduled for 16 people but it ended up only being just my husband and I— our tour guide Mario was AMAZING. So personable, informative, and truly made it a wonderful experience. The catacombs were full of macabre history that allows you to go back in time. I could not recommend this enough!

Our guide, Daniel, was amazingly knowledgeable, articulate and humorous. We learned so much about Rome and the catacombs in a short period of time. We would very highly suggest going on this tour.

The tour felt very underwhelming. The guide seemed enthusiastic about the catacombs and sympathic, but the detail of explanations and the mid-German-language-knowledge were rather limited. It felt like the entire tour being approx. 1.5 hours and containing around 45 minutes (both ways) of transport by car to/from the catacombs, and the rest was just going a bit through some corridors in the catacombs itself. For us, unfortunately rather underwhelming.

The history and experience was wonderful and our guide was helpful and cared about preserving the integrity of the places we walked.

We were lucky enough to be the only 3 English-speaking tourists, so we got our own personal guide to take us thru the catacombs. He is an extremely smart man with endless knowledge and he was great at adding in some humor with his delivery. The tour was an hour but it went by so quickly. The tunnels underground is a must-see!

We arrived at our meeting point early, which was just up from the Colosseum, and waited for our transfer to the site. A lady came to collect us and put us in a taxi to the Catacombs. There, we were met by our tour guide Daniel. Thankfully, we were the only ones on the tour so as party of four, we made our way below ground level. It's worth noting that photographs and videos are forbidden in the catacombs. Daniel was very thorough and knowledgeable, and more than happy to answer any questions we had. The history of the catacombs is absolutely fascinating and I thoroughly recommend this experience for any history fans. It offers a great insight into ancient funerary practices and early Christianity. The catacombs are narrow in places and I imagine it would be rather uncomfortable in a big group, or difficult to hear/see what we were being shown. We were extremely lucky that the site was relatively quiet for our mid morning visit but large groups were arriving as were leaving. On a separate note, a previous trip to Rome included a visit to Basilica di San Clemente which is close to the pick up/drop off point. This is also an amazing must see!! Although at the time, we did it without a tour guide which I regret. Our guide Daniel explained he also provides tours there so absolutely give it a go! You could easily accommodate both on the same day.

Very interesting tour. We booked the small group tour and it ended up just being the two of us. We very much appreciated that the tour operator did not cancel! The guide was wonderful. Very knowledgeable. The catacombs are definitely worth seeing. FYI - no photos are allowed in the catacombs.

This was a wonderful tour if you love small underground spaces that once housed the dead, as my family and I do. This tour was informative, interesting, and just a little morbid. It was a perfect way to spend an afternoon.

I bought this tour by mistake and wanted the combined tour of catacombs and crypts. I tried to cancel but they would not let me get any kind of a refund. Finding out that when you get to the catacombs they just give you a ticket and let you go with a guide there lets me know they really had no cost involved and could have given me some kind of a refund - even if it was just a partial refund. Sad that no one can work with customers and have decent customer service anymore.
