The crowds in the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel are downright oppressive. But our guide was the key to a positive experience. In addition to navigating the corridors and crowds, she offered deep and entertaining insights about everything from the architecture to the art. Don’t brave this location on your own. Go with the people who know — and sign up for this tour!

i’m not a religious person, but our guide - Marc - turned this tour into a very interesting experience regardless your religious views, he was very attentive to everyone in the group and we felt very welcome.
Maya Tours Vatican had excellent service. They led us from their office, past all the long lines, and into the museum where we began our self guided tour. Their communication ahead of time was also very good.
Skip the line was so worth it. The queues were really long. Did join a shorter queue for guides but it has slots and moves quickly. Only had entry tickets but tour guide who got us in was very knowledgable and friendly.
This was well worth it to skip the line. When you are taken the entrance area you will stand in line and think you were scammed, but its not the case. It's a long security line but moves really quick and only takes about 10 minutes, so don't worry! Once you enter, you are free to walk around at your own pace and direction. We do wish we had a tour guide so we could learn more about what we were seeing but it was still worth skipping the extremely long lines to enter.
The expedited entry was a good thing.
The lines to the Vatican are very long and confusing. This helped so much because we had a guide that walked us from the meet location to inside of the Vatican while skipping the long wait times outside.
The Vatican museum took us 2.5 hours. Magnificent. Very crowded and hot in temperatures inside. Ensure to have a bottle of water.

Great experience, worthwhile going if in Rome. We didn’t have a guide all the way round - just to get us in smoothly and to skip the line which was worth extra money (normally €18 for a “normal” ticket) but maybe not that much more. Guide Shahid was nice and chatty so lovely experience all round. One thing they don’t mention is to cover shoulders and knees - so make sure you do this to ensure you are allowed in!
It was supposed to be “skip the line”. We didn’t actually skip the line. The guide just went along with us though the line.

Maggie was the best tour guide for my Vatican tour. She kept her energy high throughout the entire tour. She was passionate about the subject matter. She also showed great interest in captivating her customers attention. The experience was awesome. The fee was worth it because our tour guide helped us navigate through the many areas including the three part entrance into the Vatican. She was charming and kind to children in my family. I was not even interested in the Vatican, but her passionate attention to detail made me care. She was patient with all different energy levels of tourists.
The company organising the skip the queue and entry were excellent and efficient. Our guide accompanied us all the way through and was very helpful. However, the experience of going through the museum itself is awful. It is so over grounded and it is close to impossible to enjoy the art. We were herded through the Sistine Chapel with security shouting the entire time. If l could I would for this and visit the Basilica instead and clime up the tower.

We had a wonderful experience on the Skip-the-Line Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel tour with Maya Tours, and our guide, Maggie, made it even more memorable. Yes, we put in a lot of steps that day, but Maggie kept the group engaged from start to finish with her knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine love for sharing the history and stories behind what we were seeing. The small group size made a huge difference. We could hear everything clearly through the provided earphones, and Maggie did an excellent job of keeping everyone together while making each person feel seen. She even remembered where each of us had traveled from, which added such a personal touch. What impressed us most was the care she showed to one member of our group who had mobility challenges. Maggie consistently checked in with her, found opportunities for her to sit and rest when possible, and made sure she felt comfortable and included throughout the tour. Visiting the Vatican can be overwhelming because there is so much to see, but Maggie made the experience enjoyable, informative, and manageable. We left with a much deeper appreciation for what we had experienced. I would highly recommend Maya Tours, and if you’re lucky enough to get Maggie as your guide, you’re in for a fantastic experience.
Christina was the best! Very knowledgeable and keep the group moving. Our daughter had an issue with the heat during the tour and she was right there to help. With so many different companies, this is the one I would come back to.
Sahib was a super friendly and experienced escorts. He guided us to the sip the line queue and through the first set of security checks. Very nice and informative young man.
They were organized and it was a 2 hour tour. Our guide Antonio (also speaks fluent Japanese) was great. It was a busy day, but he got us through and we saw all the highlights.
The Vatican used to be a wonderful experience. The guide I previously hired was magnificent. Unfortunately because of the timing, he said there wasn’t sufficient time to be vetted with my passport 30 days before travel so I opted for skip the line. On a positive for those who have never been our guide, Maggie was wonderful. She is very knowlegible. Until I took the tour with her I did not appreciate my experience from 8 years earlier when I experienced the joy of witnessing various pope’s privately curated museums. What I will say is a private tour inclusive of private collections is the best way to go. If you haven’t arranged in advance this tour it is fine. Never wait in line because you won’t get in. I now understand why my prior tour guy said he no longer enjoyed the tours as it is like Disneyland. I agree; too many skip the line tours are in the Vatican. I think it is dangerous.

This experience was perfect. We were able to walk with our guide Maggie and learn so much about the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and St Peter’s!! It was one of the more favorite parts of our trip. Thankful we were able to book!! A must do & make sure you do it in advance !!
The tripadvisor ticket you receive is not what you need... You have to go to an office for Maya Tours near the Vatican museums to collect this ticket. I am normally really on top of obscure directions, but this one was really hidden. When I arrived at Maya, they were closed for lunch, and it was 20 minutes past when the lunch ends. It's Italy... I know, but it created unnecessary anxiety. They could easily call the ticket name redeem at Maya Tours. The process was unnecessarily confusing. Skip the line saves you from the commoner wait for a ticket. It stretched a half a block, but it puts you in plenty of lines still. We were more than a block back in the skip the line ticket line. Good news, it moved quickly but I am unsure of it's worth the upcharge.
Our guide Deny was incredible!!! Not only was she fluent in 6+ languages, she knew all of the ins and outs of the tour. Her knowledge was vast and I learned more in a 3hr tour with her than I ever would have on my own. Her storytelling is something I will remember for the rest of my life. Thank you, Deny!!

Alfredo, our guide, did a great job keeping everyone together and carefully shepherded a few who had mobility issues. He was informative and lighthearted and transformed what might have been a dry recitation of facts and events into a lighthearted and fun adventure through history. Skipping the horrendously long line is reason enough to sign up for this tour. It can be a madhouse during high season.
Christina was possibly the best tourist guide I have ever had. She has multiple relevant degrees, and was courageous enough to share her personal theories of the significance of some of the details of the Sistine Chapel paintings.

It is very cofusing outside the museum with various Queues. The Guide takes you right inside the museum then leaves you to do your ow n thing. Playing a bit extra to be escortée in is well worth it
