Skip The Line Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel Experience

We were late to book and the prices otherwise available were insane. We found this experience and were very happy we did as the communication was excellent and professional which was very reassuring. The meeting place was Wise Tours office and we had had a call to make sure we were arriving in good time as they had made it clear that arriving late would not be possible. We were then taken right past the external queue and through into the museum, genuinely skipping a very long line and straight onto a tour which was informative and entertaining. Professional and friendly and we got exactly what was offered.

Skip the line is a must. We were taking from the ticket office and straight to the head of the queue with our guide dealing with everything

I enjoyed being on our own. We had the time to relax read all the plaques and even had a snack at the cafe half way through for a nice break

We booked a Vatican tour through Wise Tours and the on-site experience was frustrating from the start. When we arrived, the operator couldn't locate our booking and there was no welcome or direction — a group of us just stood outside the office waiting, unsure what was happening. The office coordinator was outright rude, not just to me but to several other guests around me. To make things worse, the group assignments were chaotic: we were given pink stickers, told to stand with the pink group, then reassigned to the black group, then moved back to pink again. There was no clear communication, and it felt disorganized and stressful before the tour had even started. The one bright spot was our guide, Frida. She was warm, welcoming, and clearly very knowledgeable about the Vatican's history and art. She's the only reason this isn't a 1-star review across the board. Based on the office experience alone, I'd think twice before booking with Wise Tours again...the mismanagement at check-in overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable start to the tour.

Still get there 30 min. before your entry time. You'll still need to wait in line a bit so they can so scan your tickets.

The hyperlink for meet point was incorrect. It took us to the opposite side from where the entrance was located. Would have liked to know how hot it would be inside. Expect no air conditioning whatsoever.

Viator has a tendency to change or cancel itineraries booked for weeks and/or months. Hours before your excursion so you dont have the ability to book anything new. This is common enough that others have reported this, and multiple families were affected. No refund will be granted to you as they have you sign a waiver prior to purchasing ticket saying that they reserve the right to alter your plans at any given notice and its your responsibility to check your phone when youre international, via calls, WhatsApp messages, or potentially emails if they have the right one. Please dont use this service, getyourguide is so much better or book directly. Tour guides whom you meet at the meeting spot are rude, unforgiving, and unaccomidating as if they deal with this every hour of every day. Only bright spots are their UNPAID interns that are compassionate and try to find ways through only for that to get shut down by the "office" who's only goal is to steal money from unsuspecting travelers. If you make a big enough disruptions at the meeting spot potentially they find a solution, but it will be an unappealing time or even two days past your changed excursion.

If I could give The Wise Tours 0/5 stars I would but I can’t so I gave them a 1. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Do not book with The Wise Tours unless you want to end up stranded at the Vatican with no tickets 3 weeks after you had confirmed them. We booked three weeks ago for a self guided tour of the Vatican and Sistine chapel and they were canceled on us 45 minutes before we entered. We had already arrived at the Vatican and were waiting for tickets that were supposed to be sent to us via email 1hr before entering. They never came so I reached out to the provider and then immediately canceled our tickets. Surely they knew they didn’t have any tickets and chose to not give us the courtesy of a heads up the night before. Disgusting service, would never ever, ever recommend. Buy your tickets way in advance through the Vatican directly, not these disappointing scam artists.

It was overpriced. In the outside the were some people selling skip the line tickets the way cheaper

There isn’t any lines being skipped. Either way you’re waiting on a long line. Please save your money and time.

I did a self-guided tour because of mobility accessibility; our guide escorted us into the Vatican with ease, helping to eliminate anxiety and any confusion. Also he had a wonderful smile with the best dimples.

Entrance ticket was sent out very late - less than 1 hour before entry time which caused stress. Also it was only sent out out following me chasing up to see why it hadn't been sent to me

The worst experience I have ever had… we met at meeting place and guide was not there… we met other local guides that dealt with viator and they did not recognize the tour sub contractors name

Visiting the Vatican and especially the Sistine Chapel was an unforgettable and truly moving experience. The atmosphere was breathtaking, and standing before such masterpieces felt almost surreal. Our guide Stefane, made the visit even more special , she was fun,, and shared an incredible amount of knowledge in such an accessible way. It was the perfect balance between history, art, and lighthearted moments. Highly recommended!

Visiting the Vatican Museums was simply unforgettable! Booking was easy and their reply time was impressively fast, making the whole process stress-free. The audioguide was super clear and detailed, allowing us to explore at our own pace while still learning so much about the incredible artworks and history. This was awful. I paid for a taxi to the pick up spot. No tour guide was there. I ran into some others that paid for tour and also got stood up. I expect a refund.

Arrived at venue on time. Tickets were never emailed. Guides unhelpful. Ruined our first day in Rome. Will never pre-book tickets again via Trip Advisor or Viator.

The “self guided tour” provided literally no guidance. Google Maps tried to direct us through a secured street to reach the starting point. Also tickets were not delivered timely. Multiple random security guards and tour operators tried to assist before the tickets were randomly delivered roughly 5 minutes before the tour was to begin. The delay caused undue stress in a throng of literally thousands of people. Ultimately, the museums are amazing. Spend more time in the Sistine chapel side. There are many more exhibits on that side.

Super convenient. You will get the tickets as PDF in email. While the tickets for same day were sold out officially these tickets helped us get in.

Help me asap with refund ! I booked skip the line for vatican museums and paid 67 usd where my mail confirmed I would get my ticket one hour before entry today (my entry by 10amm) by mail! Did not get any email until 10am and was waiting in front of the museum and calle several times actiivty provider and they did not pick up!

Booking the Skip-the-Line Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel Experience was definitely a smart choice—especially during peak tourist season. While we still had to clear security (which took about 15 to 20 minutes), it was much faster than waiting in the regular line. We had just 2.5 hours to explore, so we were a bit pressed for time and had to rush through the Sistine Chapel, but the overall experience was still incredible. The Vatican Museums are a treasure trove of history, art, and culture. Every hallway is filled with priceless masterpieces, from ancient sculptures to Renaissance tapestries. The Sistine Chapel ceiling was breathtaking—it's surreal to stand beneath Michelangelo’s iconic frescoes and realize you're witnessing one of the greatest achievements in art history. My kids especially enjoyed the visual richness of the tour; it was both educational and inspiring for them. The whole visit left us wanting to return with more time to take it all in. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants a convenient and enriching experience of the Vatican.

Trying to visit the Vatican on a day where the world’s youth (about 1 million) were in town celebrating a Jubilee, made getting even close to the Vatican a challenge. With huge queues, barriered access points and no clear signage of where to go, it was almost a case of giving up and accepting we wasted 2 (non refundable) tickets. However, with perseverance we finally found a way in and even though we were 15-30 mins late, we still got access. The visit itself was amazing, what’s not to be impressed by the Sistine Chapel.

Process was easy to follow and well organised with directions easy to follow and People on site to offer assistance. There is always going to a bit of a wait but you do skip the main line but purchasing these tickets. Highly recommend starting tour early to avoid waiting in the sun if visiting in summer. Would also recommend the audio self guide which can be purchased at entrance for 8 Euro.

We received our tickets promptly. We unfortunately booked too late to get tickets from the official Vatican website but this was the next best thing and worked out well!

We purchased 8am tickets and at 7:45 were told the tickets weren’t available, after we had already travelled to the group meeting point.

I purchased the skip-the-line option because the guided tour was unavailable, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. I had the opportunity to fully enjoy the Vatican at my own pace. The ticket was delivered via email one hour before the scheduled entry time.

It was a very beautiful feeling, it was like going back in time and experiencing something beyond imagination. I will definitely come back again, it was simply wonderful.

I paid in total 170€ for a ticket without queues and without guide, only entry and went with my husband and my 4-year-old son who was in the car (at 10 a.m.). I think when you go with a car you don’t need that kind of ticket because when we arrived and saw those who are at the entrance without showing the ticket they sent us to go directly, without a queue, so I possibly paid for it for nothing. We enter the Vatican museums and you have to go all the way until you reach the Sistine Chapel, you can not go directly. The place looks impressive, but I say it seems because with the crowd of people out there and some very rude, I was more focused on getting out of there without getting over us first... for me it wasn't worth it
