First of all Rudy our guide was awesome: Fun, informative and made the experience unforgettable. The tour, guide and timeframe all perfect. The tour office for meeting made us wait to the minute before checking us in and they were standing with nothing to do, so instead of a fast check in we now had line, not smart. The office needs to update their seats and waiting areas

Didnt actually get the guided tour as arrived a little late. Tour staff still had my ticket for my entry to the Vatican and gave me directions of where to go and how to then get to St Peter's Basilica.
We had an absolute fantastic tour with Alessandro at the Vatican tour including the Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica. He is so very knowledgeable and brings so much excitement to his tours. We would highly recommend him and this tour. It made our first trip to Rome so memorable. Thanks so much!
Having a tour guide is the way to experience this. It would be difficult to do this on your own and not knowing the history behind what you're seeing
Very nice, the tour was informative and I really enjoyed the tour guide. He is very dedicated. There is so much history.
Tour was very rushed. We were only given 15 minutes in the Sistine Chapel. Our tour guide was also very difficult to understand. Not worth the $600 plus I paid for my family of 4 to visit the Vatican.
Great , informative tour. It was worth the money. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Hello. We recently took this tour. We met our booking guide who took us to the spot to meet our tour guide and left, no other details given. We met our tour guide who spoke English but had a very thick accent and maybe understood about 10 words for the whole tour of the Vatican and chapel. One the tour had finished the tour guide told us to exit where we assumed we were meeting back with our first guide or another for the basilica tour. We were directed out of the Vatican City therefore missing out on seeing the basilica. This was very upsetting and when I called Tours About they were shouting and angry telling me my tour is completed and put me off booking through this site in future.
Excellent tour. Leticia was an amazing guide!
The guide was too difficult to understand. Talked too fast, didn’t engage with us at all. Made the tour of the museum too long. Saint Peter’s church was amazing. Glad we were able to enjoy it on our own
Excellent guide, he spent a lot of time prepping us for what we were goung to see. I appreciated that. It isn't a quick tour and there aren't opportunities to sit down, so be prepared. You spend 15 minutes in the Sistine chapel which was magical and this time of year there weren't any crowds in St Peter's.
Our tour guide really knew what he was talking about. The office was easy to find and I was worried it would feel rushed but it was paced perfectly for us. There was so much to see and it was so interesting. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Rome.
It was a good tour, very busy for the off season. She was great with the expressing of the ideas and history. Did not have to wait in any lines.
We would like to commend our tour guide Ms. Maria for sharing her knowledge while doing the Vatican tour. An impressive well-preserved historical must see place.
Trip guided by Irene. She was very good at moving us through a busy space filled with people & set a brisk pace for the 2.5hrs seeing the museum, sistine chapel & basilica, although to be fair we’re in our 60’s & kept up. We had Vatican provided head sets that worked well. Would recommend this trip.
Great tour with Antonio (the one who speaks Japanese). Antonio was full of enthusiasm a d knowledge as he guided us through the highlights of the Vatican and Sistine Chapel.
Loved the whole tour and being able ton”skip the line”!for a premium was worth it. Our tour guide spoke the language of our group and we were very educated and entertained. Thank you Viator!
Really good our guide was nice and always tried very hard to make sure that everyone was able to stay together even though it was really crowded
Fast and efficient entrance to Vatican. tour last about 2-3hrs.Lots of information from our guide. there's two souvenir stores after the tour ends
This was an amazing experience. Pasquale was a great guide, very calm and patient despite the huge crowds. He kept us entertained and there were many things to see, but Pasquale focused on important aspects and stories about the Vatican. He was very engaging and open to questions from the group.
Our guide was very thorough and knowledgeable. At times maybe just a little difficult to understand her English. But she was very good and would with her again.
The Vatican museum and Sistine chapel were very crowded but our tour guide did a fantastic job of keeping the tour moving and finding time away from the crowd to explain things. Would have preferred a guided tour of the basilica instead of Vatican museum but think I misunderstood what the tour consisted of.
I used PayPal for payment and never received email confirmation from Viator. Traveled to designated gathering an was told I did not have a reservation, yet I was charged
The tour guide went fast and didn’t wait for the group. Although the Vatican was closed until 1:00 and our tour ended at 1:00 she didn’t give us any directions on how to see St. Peter’s Square or the Vatican on our own. We were very disappointed.
The guide was very knowledgeable and explained lots of history. We were informed that the basilica guided tour wouldn't happen as it was closed for the morning.
Overall the tour was good. The guide was knowledgeable and passionate. I asked to add an extra person to the reservation, I had a reservation for 2, and initially was told yes. When we arrived for check in I was told we would need to wait and see closer to departure time if my friend could come in the same tour. My friend booked a different tour since there was no guarantee, and when we arrived for departure they had me listed as a party of 3. They also charged me for the extra tour.
Our tour guide was fantastic and we were so happy to be able to skip the line. It was very informative and impressive.
I bought the ticket via Headout. Dramatically expensive and no value added service in comparison with a direct purchase via the Vatican Museums official website. But I was late, and had no alternative...
Low light of the trip Good to skip the line. Bad for a guided tour. Tour guide seemed disengaged and was hard to hear via audio.
Maggie our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable, but we did not get what we paid for or expected. We did not see Raphael’s room like purchased and did not go into some of the rooms as told we would. Do not do a late afternoon tour.
I thought this was a tour through the Sistine chapel and St. Peter’s Cathedral not just the museum. It was a bit long so by the time we were ready to on our own to the chapel and cathedral, we were all out of energy. Thank goodness there was a place to sit and get food otherwise, my experience would’ve been worse. As far as the actual tour: I felt bad for our tour guide. He told us from the beginning that he hard knee surgery and could barely walk. Unfortunately, this was made the tour longer. Not his fault at all. Like I said, I felt bad. He was nice and very knowledgeable but other arrangements should’ve have been made. It’s a lot of walking and it’s very hot!! Take a fan and water with you. *Btw- During the summer, men don’t have to wear pants. Shorts are fine as long as they cover the knees. Women must cover their shoulders but I noticed that if you don’t have anything, they give you something.
Skipping the long line to get into the museum was a big perk. Our guide Antonio was very imformative. Unfortunately, it was a scorching hot day (nobody's fault) and VERY crowded so it was work to keep together with our group. Antonio gave us much information under tough circumstances.
I have done other Vatican tours and am learning it really depends on the guide you get. This was not my favorite. Lots of talking, but not about important information I and others in the group wish would have been covered.
Wonderfully, informative tour. I walk a bit slow, and our guide Antonio, always made sure to keep all 20 of us together. He’s been at his job for 22 years. He was funny, charming & knew everything! Lots of walking, so skipping the line to the Vatican & using the “tour” side door to St. Peter’s Basilica was worth the price alone. Highly recommend this well organized tour!
Worst service both from the organization at the booth and mediocre tour guide . you can expect to learn the less interesting facts about the Vatican or the pieces of art. I was actually googling information during the tour because it was so basic and boring. My kids declared that they would rather be at school than suffer this (and they enjoyed other museum tours) Stay away
The guide was incredible and full of knowledge. He was great! Answered many questions and spoke directly to each and every one of us. He had a wealth of knowledge and we were very fortunate to get him. He spoke in detail about all the exhibits. I’m sure we just touched the surface of what is there but he gave us a good base if we ever wanted to explore more.
Guide Marcius was amazing, he was really charismatic and gaved us a different view of Vatican history. Our 3h tour felt like 1h tour.
It was an amazing tour. Mina our guide was very helpful, knowledgeable, informative. We visited the Vatican museum, the Greek and Egyptian sections, three more galleries, Sistine chapel and St. Peter's basilica. We had a great experience.
<p>The company fulfilling this tour is extremely strict as they have multiple tours leaving at the same time. They have zero tolerance for people coming late and charge you full price for 'rescheduling'. Our tour had about 24 people and several of them including us were reschedules coming from earlier or same time tours there was a group of friends who were scheduled to be in separate same time tours that had to reschedule... and PAY... to be a part of the same group. I am disappointed about this because it cost us twice as much and we missed the morning viewings of the Apartment and Raphael rooms.</p> <p>ALSO!!! read the fine print. You'll still have to pay the Vatican Museum entrance fee of 24 Euros/person when you get to the tour office. This makes this tour not worth it in my opinion since you essentially have to pay double of the advertised price--deceptive!</p> <p>Getting into the Vatican is difficult, we understand. But our group did about 40 minutes of waiting around while our guide was getting tickets for us after security. I noticed other groups coming and going much faster since their guide moved quicker and did not require the group to follow them to collect tickets then back to the entrance. We definitely wasted time.</p> <p>Our guide, Gerolamo was not good in English and unfortunately, his personality was unable to come out. It was not enjoyable to be led by him. His descriptions of things were very basic and he repeated himself a lot. He was unable to answer questions coming from the group about paintings or artwork of the museum or sistine chapel. We were pushed through the Sistine Chapel without stopping even though other groups were able to stay longer. </p> <p>I would not suggest this tour to another person and recommend people go in on their own, purchase the museum audio guide and do it at your own pace. The lines for prepaid individuals went just as fast as for tour groups in early July.</p>
Our tour guide was excellent, the knowledge she gave us was relevant and interesting. Many facts I did not know and if you don’t take a guided tour neither will you.
<p>This tour was reasonably priced and totally worth it! We showed up at the Tour Office walking distance from Vatican City 15-20 minutes before our tour began where we checked in and received our headphones. Our tour guide Laura was friendly, informative and energetic. This tour is comprehensive enough theoretically, one could spend days exploring the grounds for the time frame 3 hours and price. We saw important collections within the Vatican Museum, spent time at Sistine Chapel, and ended tour at St. Peter's Basilica. I highly recommend!</p>
<p>BEST EXPERIENCE EVER</p> <p>Very kind and knowledgeable guide. Made our experience unforgettable. Well organized tour. We will recommend TOURS ABOUT to all our friends. Thanks for the amazing experience.</p>
The guide Antonella knew how to share her passion with us with kindness. But the meeting and agency opening times were not respected, we waited a long time outside and standing.
Guided tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica. Reservation code A40271854 Taken on Friday, July 24 at 8:10am with guide María Antonieta Casas. This has been, without a doubt, the worst experience of all the tours I have taken in my life. I normally like to give good reviews for tours and guides, and when it is not good, I prefer not to leave reviews, but in this particular case, it is necessary to explain what happened to try to ensure that no other tourist has to go through such an unpleasant situation. The whole problem is because of the lady who gave us the tour. I cannot find any explanation for how a person like her can be providing that service. María Antonieta was a completely rude, unprofessional, unpleasant, and annoying guide. From the beginning to the end, she spent her time making unpleasant comments to all the members of the group. To be as descriptive and objective as possible, I am going to list the reasons why this person should never be providing this service: 1. She is unpleasant to tourists, who are the customers and are paying for her services; she would give a terrible scolding to any tourist who was distracted and did not follow her instructions as precisely as she wished. If someone got distracted taking a photo, she treated them terribly and humiliated them in front of the other people. 2. If for some reason she stopped and someone accidentally got 20cm ahead of her, she would also approach in an aggressive and derogatory manner, indicating that no one could walk in front of the guide. 3. Her explanations were recited like a script, quickly, without even allowing us to understand what she was explaining. 4. She gave instructions as if she were a high-ranking military officer, treating her clients as people totally inferior to herself. 5. At different times, she threatened the group that if they did not want to participate, they should leave the group, even though everyone was fully following her instructions. 6. Her treatment was always intimidating and threatening. 7. During the tour, she treated everyone in the group as ill-mannered and uncultured, when clearly we were all taking the tour to learn new things. 8. Her bad attitude did not allow for questions to be asked. 9. Near the end of the tour, without even entering St. Peter's Basilica, she suddenly indicated that the tour had ended and simply left. Everything related to St. Peter's Basilica was left without any explanation or tour. 10. During the tour, she treated tourists who were not in the group and who were with other groups badly. This tour turned into a terrible disappointment and upon finishing, the feeling was so unpleasant that it made everything that was left to see, like the basilica and St. Peter's Square, impossible to appreciate because the only thing you wanted to do was leave there to forget what had happened. I do not want a refund for the tour because that is not the point. My intention is for the terrible attitude of this guide to be known and, if possible, for her to not be able to work as one again.
Regrettable activity. One hour passed between the time we agreed upon and the start of the visit. Joaquina, the guide, had a rehearsed and superficial speech, with no option to ask questions. We booked the Vatican Museums visit (we visited three courtyards, three galleries, two rooms, and the Sistine Chapel) and the cathedral, but in the latter, the tour is not guided, only some basic explanations at the door. Too much time wasted, explanations that do not contribute, and a feeling of having seen nothing.
A very beautiful experience with Veronica, who was kind, funny, and warm. I highly recommend!
Buena
DO NOT buy from this company, it is a scam. You can check the comments of many people scammed by this company. In addition to the terrible treatment and responsibility they have with the client, which in the end should be their primary objective. We arrived at 9:30 am and the group had not left, they were with the guide giving instructions, they did not want to accept us in the group and we lost the money for the tour, which by the way is worth twice as much as in other companies that are much more serious and with better prices. deal. They don't give any solution, they charge you again for the tour to be able to go and in cash I saw how the clerk put the money in his pocket and they don't give an invoice, I had to ask for it and it was manual. It seems that the business is about selling tickets, and if you arrive on time for the tour you have already lost it because it was oversold. They have had thousands of cases that are exposed by other clients. They cancel tours, give false tickets, they can be late in the start of the tour but the client cannot arrive at the exact time because they lose the tour. As other local tour operators told us, the local fame of that company is that they are a mafia.
Guide Maria Antoñeta was not involved in the explanation. He spent all his time scolding. He gave us a quick talk about what we were going to see. We had to queue like everybody else. Very bad organization. I don't recommend it. PS: the guide was sweating more than Paquirrin on a running afternoon
