The guide was so unhelpful, handed us tickets at the meeting point and left us to it! It was so unorganised at the queues and absolutely no guidance from the useless guide who left ! The app which we were meant to download was not working either . All in all a waste of time, I should have booked directly on the Vatican website!

Our guide Leo was wonderful!!! Very informative and was an excellent way to see the Vatican. First time I did it on my own and I did not know any of the information I learned today with Leo!
Skip the line for the museum and sistine chapel was good however audio guide did not include all sections of the museum and gives a very small presentation of the museum sections it does have on audio. We would have also appreciated a detailed map. We would not recommend
Our guide...well informed, covered the essential material in a professional way. Kept us at a consistent pace, kept us moving along and kept us engaged. His voice and mannerisms were easy on the psyche with a touch of humor. He covered the details so well there were very few questions from the group of 9. He was patient and congenial and overall very pleasant. Best tour this entire vacation.
Very interesting and thorough . Leo gave good tips and was so nice
Leonardo was very informative, funny, and showed us much of the Vatican in the time period we had. He was efficient while still allowing us time to view all of the beauty.
ALWAYS, ALWAYS select “skip the line” and an audio tour vs using a live guide. The guides rush people through and often 4-6 groups are all en-mass together (100-125 people) and seldom do the guides stop long enough so all group members can actually experience the displays. They do stop, but unless you are standing right next to the guide, forget it. They stop for 30 seconds to show the persons standing next to them & off they go. If you are in the middle of the group crowd, by the time you catch up to the spot to see what was pointed out, you can’t stop or you’ll loose your group. We did the tour with just the headsets and we able to take our time & actually look at the displays. Guides do the whole museum in an hour to 90 minutes. We were there for 4 hours as were many others we talked with who used the audio only tour.
Amazing experiance, booking was so easy and great communication from CityWonders! Thank you
Audio guide not detailed enough and didn't have a guide in each toom
Skipping the line made a massive difference and the audio guide was helpful. The guides were super easy to find, we really enjoyed it.
The audioguide was extremely UN-user friendly. I would have been much better off purchasing the audioguide from the museum itself. It was very difficult to find the corresponding audio to the actual things in the museum.
overall incredibly overwhelming, the self audio guide didn’t have all the exhibits and wasn’t easy to follow at all. i wish i had just booked a guided tour instead. “skip the line” but i waited almost an hour outside in the rain with hundreds of other people. inside is beautiful but incredibly crowded, no AC and with the lack of guide with the audio system it just didn’t meet my expectations.
The skip the line ticket didn't really help us skip the line. We thought someone would guide us through the queue, but they basically just told us which line to go to and left it at that. Unfortunately, the line outside was chaotic with all the tour groups, and we spent close to an hour just figuring out where the end of the line was. The app/audio guide was so-so. We would have done better getting the audio guide directly from the museum.
this company will take your money. wait untill last minute then cancel on you with no chance to book ticket again on same day. they are a scam please do not use extremly bad do not use you will waste your money and time
Wonderful and easy experience
Wow what an amazing experience . Well worth the money. We were there for quite a few hrs but worth every minute.
We have been doing a lot of sightseeing in Rome using a real person guide. To keep costs down slightly we chose an audio guide for the Vatican museum and the Sistine Chapel this was a mistake. We found an audio guide very difficult to follow as the directions were confusing as there weren’t any and not a lot of information at all . Also what is not made clear to someone that is not a local is you’re not getting Saint Peter‘s Basilica, you’re only getting the Vatican museums and sistine Chapel. We would’ve realised that they are different places ( but in ghe same area)but it was all under the umbrella of Vatican City. We thought that was included. Which was a disappointment. Good initial guide when meeting us to collect our tickets with nice directions so thank you for that though.
Leo was amazing , he is our tour guide, very knowledgeable and sweet, had a great time , definitely would recommend
Fairly good experience. Tickets just get you in a shorter line and the audio guide is an overview of a few selected works of art.
Using the app for the program is a little cluncky. It doesn't give you exact instructions, instead you have to figure it out. The tour itself, So much to see and not enough time. It was said this is a 1.5 hour tour, I found that we were there for at least 5 hours.
I booked the fast track entry to the Vatican Museum & Sistine Chapel. The official entry ticket is c.€20 but I paid £65 for the ticket + fast track. That is quite a mark up. However, the CityWonders staff were very efficient, and extremely helpful, charming and friendly. I was through the entry queue in less than 10 minutes. I would not hesitate to use CityWonders again. Excellent and trustworthy company with great staff.
The guide did not communicate the procedure for entry. They did not give me the ticket I needed for entry. When I presented my online barcode they wouldn't let me in. The guides were nowhere to be seen when I looked for them.
We only booked the skip-the-line audio tour guide ticket. Honest opinion - 84 € per person is not worth it. Vatican Museum ticket itself costs 25 €. Most disappointing was the audioguide, many rooms were not covered with the audio and where it had info, it was so very short overall basic info. We instead downloaded Rick Steves FREE Europe audioguide and enjoyed the tour without payed app and guidance. Skip-the-line ticket did work (you will get the ticket from tour company’s employee, which takes a bit time). For the Vatican Museum waiting line, we went accurately on the time we had on ticket and waited in a long-long line, which went fast, around 8 minutes to get in. Afternoon the line was in a shade, so no problem waiting.
The self guided tour is clunky to use and does not follow you throughout the tour so you have to constantly try to figure out where you are and then select the correct audio tour.
Super simple way to enter the museum with ease. Was easy to find the guide, who provided us with the audio guide and we could then take our time through the museum and chapel. We enjoyed that it was self guided, but supported by some fantastic audio information. Would definitely recommend! Was a stunning, grandiose experience
Great experience!!!! Thank you Leo.
Very disappointed with this experience. My husband and I found the self-guided tour difficult to navigate, and it didn’t flow smoothly at all. I repeatedly had to scroll through the app to figure out which section of the exhibit I was standing in so I could find the corresponding information. Instead of being able to focus on and enjoy the museum, I was constantly trying to navigate the app. I also felt the tour provided very limited information and didn’t cover enough of the museum. For the price, I expected a much more comprehensive and informative experience. I was also disappointed that headphones were not provided. Additionally, the guide we met could not walk us up to the entrance gate, which made the experience feel less organized than expected. The advertised “no wait” entry was also misleading, as there was still a long line. Overall, the experience was frustrating and not worth the money. I would not recommend this tour.
Our guide, Leo, was amazing! He was very knowledgeable and made our tour exceptional.
The audio is only an app on a smart phone, which you better remember to download ahead of time when you have reception or WiFi. Difficult to see the map on a phone (too small) and hard to follow. I would have preferred using the audio guide of the museum much, much better.
Highly recommend the early tour. Queues were already long, so skip the line at this time was ideal. Leisurely walk through with minimal crowds. Sistine was not crowded which allowed plenty of time to take in the beauty of this amazing chapel.
Leo did a great job! Very fun tour!
Leo was a pleasant tour guide! He was very knowledgeable and was very fun to be with. Highly recommended!
Worth it.. I got into the museum quickly and the audio was an added bonus. No tour guide meant I could take my time… I saw tour groups rushing past amazing world of arts by Dali and Van Gogh trying to wizz thru and stick to time. At least I could linger as long as I wanted.
Seems like the worst tour available from what we saw on the other groups . Not sure what line was skipped
Very professional and friendly guide. Meeting point was close by.
Leo was amazing! Very knowledgeable and thoughtful as to the group.
Highly recommend skip the line tickets. We were there on a Saturday and the line was very long. We didn’t have to wait and walked right in. Ticket pickup location was conveniently right across from the entrance. My only recommendation is to ensure you have ample time to experience it.
Easy to find your tour coordinator, he rifled us past the crowds straight to the front of the line to climb the basilica. PRO TIP: the stairwell is NOT WIDE. A lot of people were stopping on the way up, impeding progress. This is NOT a two-way staircase. You must commit the whole way and the view is absolutely worth it.
Worth every penny the line can be very long so worth skipping and much better getting someone to tell you all about it
It’s just a ticket to enter. We met at the meeting spot. They gave us a ticket and sent us in
Overall a fantastic experience! Second time and was just as great second time around!
We bought the tickets to skip the line which it did but the audio app was difficult to set up and we ended up going around without an audio guide in the end. There are audio guides in the building itself which we could have used instead. The Vatican itself is a must see location but I think we could have gotten cheaper tickets elsewhere for the same experience
once we found where the pick-up was, it was very easy and and comfortable. the audio guide was great!
The tour operator was fine but they didnt do much except give us our skip the line tickets. We did the self-guided audio tour which I wouldn't recommend as the audio guide tells you barely anything and is difficult to understand which areas the audio is for because there is only one reference picture which isn't always clear. I would recommend getting an actual guide. Also the audio tour is for the vatican museums, which don't appear to tell you anything about the history of the vatican itself. It's just about their vast collection of artefacts which they were nearly always 'given' or 'found'. Again, I would recommend an actual tour guide to take you around.
Leo was an amazing tour guide. Very efficient very knowledgeable very kind. Would highly recommend to anyone!!!
Pretty poor experience, happy with all of the pre communication etc, easy to meet at the meeting point etc but severely overpriced. We paid over £180 for tickets that on the day cost no more then £65 to get on site. We got nothing extra except an audio guide which is also rather poor and vague. Talked into buying skip the line tickets which make no difference. Still had to queue up, our line entered at the same time as everyone else. The Vatican in general, do not visit in July, way too busy and over sold. Over crowded everywhere, no space or time to properly look at anything or take proper pictures. Disappointing.
We enjoyed the visit to the Vatican Museum - it is a must for any visit to Rome.
we did a skip the line audio guide. We still had to que for ages to get in and the audio guide was really poor quality. Not enough details about anything. I really wish we had invested in a tour guide. This was actually a real scam, exspensive and the tour company didnt teally do anything!!!
It didn't include access to St Peter's Basillica. For that much money, I felt ripped off. I really didn't need to see another museum with Jesus being murdered.
No help what’s so ever. They give u a ticket that you can buy anywhere in Rome and tell you get in a 30 minute line. No guidance of any kind
