Christina was phenomenal. She created such a good pace and thoughtfully crafted tour. She prepared us for what we would see, but also knew when to give her audience time to soak it in. I realized halfway thru that the experience would have been so much less rich without her historical background and expertise in art. Total homerun.

Deny was an amazing guide that told us things we could never had learned on our own. She expertly navigated our small group of 7 to key features while taking advantage of any short cut that reduced stair climbing when possible. Her background as an artist added something extra to our tour. I appreciated her wit and humor...highly recommend this tour and if you are fortunate she will be your guide...be ready for some walking and stair climbing. The walk is not over top but if you struggle with normal stairs you may want to sit this one out. If you go it will be worth the effort.
First things first, everything that Rome has to offer is beautiful and carries so much historical significance. Walking through the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s was beyond enriching. But beyond that, Deny from Maya Tours was the best guide I ever could have hoped for.. probably the best tour guide I’ve ever had. She had so much information in her head and she was so engaging. She brought personality and personal insight to the tour which gave it that much more depth. 10 / 10 for the sights.. 15/10 because of Deny.
Maggie from Maya Tours was awesome. She is extremely knowledgeable about the Vatican and Roman history. She has a great personality and made sure everyone was doing well and satisfied. She brought us directly to wherever we had to be, bypassing lines and long waits. Having Maggie as a tour guide enhanced what was already an amazing experience. The Vatican was absolutely incredible. The history, beauty, and spiritual significance were definitely something everyone should experience at least once in their lives.
Maggie was exceptional! She was friendly, courteous, very knowledgeable, had a sense of humor, great English. She was, by far, the best your guide we’ve had throughout our 3 week vacation. Her knowledge of the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican, Saint Peter’s Basilica, Michelangelo, the other artists and architects, the construction, Papal history, etc., was incredible! Thank you, Maggie, from the couple from Washington State!
Debra was a wonderful guide and very informative. Debra got us in the building quickly and set us up for great views of all the important things and have us perfect picture opportunities. I would recommend that she give a disclosure at the beginning of her tour to trust the process even though her mannerisms may be a bit different than what people are used to but it definitely will all work! Again, overall amazing.
This is the second time we’ve had this tour guide and each time he is very clear and knowledgeable. Learned more this time than last time. He was able to change the tour up due to things being closed.
This was a great experience! Our guide was very knowledgeable, both in the history of the Vatican and how to navigate to make sure we saw everything possible (I forget her name, but she's original from Georgia!)
I don't usually book guided tours. This may be the 2nd I've ever been on in my life. But this one was not only necessary but very good. If you don't want to suffer all day in a line hoping to get into the Vatican museum/ Sistine chapel go with a tour and I recommend this tour. Our guide, Christina was super informative, nice, funny and gave off a good mood the entire time. I really enjoyed this thank you Maya Tours!!
Christine was amazing. Awesome tour and really helpful as this was our first time in the Vatican. It’s so crowded it would have been overwhelming trying to make sense of what we were seeing!
Christina was fabulous! We did not feel rushed, and she explained everything. I’m so glad we had her for our guide!❤️
It is physically arduous. Christina was a great guide. She was extremely informative. The Vatican is beautiful. Sistine Chapel was amazing.
Deborah hands down is the best tour guide. I was not expecting much, as I am not a very religious person, but Deborah literally brought me to tears with her advanced knowledge and respect for the Vatican. She made this experience one of the most memorable from my entire trip. The tour was extremely educational, and everything we viewed was absolutely stunning and beautiful. She handled the large crowds with no issues and got us through with hardly any wait. I would highly recommend this tour for everyone. I will remember it for a long time
Maggie our guide was excellent on our tour! Skip the Line tour in the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and Basilica was worth it. There were such long lines and we bypassed and went right in. Maggie was such a wonderful guide so knowledgeable and kind. The items in each place visited was Awe-inspiring.
Maggie was a great tour guide with a vast of knowledge on all areas that we walked, even when some of the areas were unplanned due to how busy it was. The queue jump was well worth it given the speed of getting in compared to those queueing. We even got to take a shortcut to the Sistine chapel which looked to be closed but maggie is an employee of the Vatican City so security let us through. It was a great experience and well worth the money.
This tour was a 10 out of 10! Christina from Maya tours was excellent! We couldn’t have asked for a better tour and tour guide!
The tour guide was very enthusiastic and clearly loved his work. We would have preferred more facts about the Vatican itself, the things inside and things which were easy to remember as opposed to what the items were trying to represent etc. We felt the overall tour was good, but there were areas whereby we felt slightly disengaged.
Wonderful tour. Well worth the cost to not spend hours on line! You can spend as much time as you like in the Basilica.
Debra was very informative and made she pointed out key things so we didn't waste time when better things and views existed. There was a lot to see. Almost sensory overload. Definitely a good move skipping the line
Maggie was an excellent tour guide and had a true love for the Vatican, St. Peter’s and its historical significance. She was kind enough to answer questions and still keep us moving and on time. She is a gem! And we are so lucky to have met her.
Only go in the spring or fall. Oppressive summer heat will make your visit less memorable. Skip the Line is worth the money
Was an amazing experience, with a fantastic guide. Highly recommend booking with them. The skip the line makes a difference and worth the price.
Very little waiting to get in. Guide was very informative.
The guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. The museum part was ridiculously busy and he did a good job of navigating through as best he could. St Peters Basilica was absolutely amazing and not as crowded as the rest of the tour. My only critique would be the crowds in the museum and Sistine Chapel, not recommended for people who not like being in enclosed spaces.
Meeting place was Maya Tours in Rome. Tour office was ok. Opened a few minutes late but was efficient once they opened. Our tour guide, MAGGIE was absolutely PHENOMENAL. The best tour guide I have ever had, and I have gone on a lot of tours. One wouldn't expect a tour of the Vatican to actually be fun, but she made it that way. And her knowledge and ability to share it in a captivating way was amazing. Maggie, if you are reading this, "Michigan" thanks you from the bottom of my heart. I was incredibly lucky to have randomly been assigned to your group and recommend anyone to request you. You made this tour experience a 20 on a scale of 1 to 10.
This tour was prompt. After the tour you are free to continue to explore on your own. Our guide was originally from Georgia , so her English was fantastic. She was passionate, very educated, and funny. She really took the time to give you the history and the meaning behind what you were going to see. It was a group tour but she made it seem more like a personal experience. Totally recommend.
Nice tour. I didn't give it 5 stars because we started 40 minutes late & I had a flight to catch so I had to leave before being able to really see the basilica. It was a little chaotic but it is a very busy place so it's kind of hard to be orderly. Deborah our guide was very knowledgeable & ran a tight ship 😊 Don't go ahead of her it will be a mistake 😂
Our excursion to the Vatican was wonderful. There were any other groups there and it got a little congested, but our guide would find an open space and hurry us to it. She was great. Every excursion we book through Viator during our European vacation was excellent. We even booked a couple for the next day and a representative was easy to find with our tickets and escorted us to the skip the line entrance. We never had to stand in a long line. Some were with a guide and for others we were on our own. We will definitely continue to use Viator for any of our vacations.
Thanks to our guide we saw everything the tour described and maybe even some more. The skip the line is a must. Do not hesitate to pay for it. It is worth every penny.
The Vatican tour we took on Friday 9/18 with Deny was the best Vatican tour we’ve ever taken in the 5 times we’ve been to Rome in the last 30 + years and worth every penny!! Her knowledge and stories brought life to the time long ago when this was all created and gave us a deeper insight and understandings to the Sixteen chapel and the Vatican as a whole! I would highly recommend Maya Tours especially with this GUiDE to all my friends! I even took a pic with her to show my Mom back in the US! Sincerely. Sally Shipierski
The skip-the-line package is worth every penny! The tour guides run this place—they know exactly what they’re doing and it’s extremely helpful when navigating the building. Our tour guide shared lots of insightful information while trying to keep us cool and timely as well. Definitely recommend!
It was great. The Vatican history was amazing and our tour guide Maggie was very educated and knowledgeable. She made the tour very engaging.
Our tour guide, Deny, did a nice job leading us through the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's.
Wonderful experience with a ton of detailed information! Our guide Debra was fantastic and I would recommend her to everyone!
Very informative tour. Skipping the lines makes the tour worth it. Alfredo was an excellent tour guide. This is a must do when in Rome.
Our guide Debora was Amazing. I was dubious about skipping the line but she really helped us breeze past every Line we approached . Her knowledge and passion about the History of the Chapel and the artwork inside was fascinating .
Alfredo was awesome! Knowledgeable, friendly and kept the group together. Really enjoyed his talk.
Very informative. Our guide was somewhat abrasive, criticizing guests if we were incorrect in answering questions she asked.
Wear comfortable shoes! Debra was great, very knowledgeable! She kept others away from our area and knew the guards to let us to areas others didn’t seem to be allowed.
Christine is undoubtedly the BEST tour guide in Rome. We were so fortunate to have her lead us through the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. She was engaging, entertaining, and incredibly knowledgeable. Highly recommend requesting her specifically for your tour!
Koen was so kind and knowledgeable we had a great experience! He adapted to what our group wanted to do and see and was so passionate about the tour!
Maggie was amazing ! Very kind and funny
Our guide, Christine, was excellent. Very knowledgeable as she had a background in art history, had connections with the Vatican granting us additional access. She made smart choices, keeping us out of the sun and gathering us close, presenting us Sistine Chapel info in the air conditioning. She gave us info in a conversational interesting manner. She provided us with some unique facts and some personal experiences. She maneuvered us through the crowds well. Her personality was charming and authentic-I could readily see her as a friend. Only positives here and no negatives! Glad we took this tour-saw many awesome, impressive sights! Would recommend to others for sure!
Overall, this was a great tour. There was a little confusion in finding the correct location to check in, as there were two similar offices on this street and no Viator signage. Once we found the correct location, it was great. It was super hot when we visited (Aug. 3), but the crowds were a little less than normal. Our director was originally from the U. S. and easy to understand. She provided several "insider" points of interest to our group, before entering, so we could be sure to look for them. The "skip the line" benefit worked great!
Dany was amazing! We couldn't have asked for a better guide. She was a knowledgeable, fun and caring guide.
It was a great tour experience. Guide was very organized and extremely knowledgeable. Our only suggestion would be a different headset. They were over the ear style which don't really work well when wearing glasses. They kept slipping off. It was a minor issue and did take away from the excellent experience
Our tour was absolutely amazing! Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and made the experience both fun and informative. We learned so much throughout the tour while enjoying the incredible beauty of the area. It was a memorable experience, and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore and appreciate everything it has to offer.
Cruise ship docked in at 7 AM. We hired a car to drive us in to Rome, which gave us a few hours in the city and a few hours at Vatican City. Because of the tightness of our time schedule we booked this tour. It was excellent value for money and it enriched our experience immensely. Maggie, our tour guide, was an absolute delight: Engaging, knowledgable and personable. She hit all the highlights and added commentary as we went through. Highly recommend.
I had a wonderful tour of the Vatican, the Sistine chapel and Saint Peter‘s Basilica and it all went very smoothly very fast and I enjoyed the experience. I had compared the pricing to other tour companies and while this ticket was a little bit more expensive I felt more assured there would be less hiccups, and that was true. Tour guide was great spoke great English and was friendly. Bring a water bottle with you when you come.
Exceptional experience. Our tour guide Deborah was delightful woth such great insite and charisma. She made sure kids had upfront views of all the statues, paintings, etc. She had a great rapport with the Vatican Staff which made for a stress free visit. Would highly recommend due to her attention to detail, information, care for attendees and demeanor.
