We have done a skip the line Vatican tour prior to this trip, thus we had a good idea as to what to expect. This one was disorganized, aloof, and completely uncaring. We received a note the prior day stating that our time slot had moved to a later time slot. I reconfirmed the night before…. We arrive at the adjusted time and they stated that we were a no-show at the original time. After a conversation and showing the texts they sent to me, they allowed us to go. Then…. The ‘leader’ did nothing to let us know we were leaving, nor kept track of anyone in the group. The crowds were big and he had no flag to try to track him. We we lost him once and were going in the wrong direction through the crowds. We had to scramble to find the leader. But the leader obviously did not care if we were there or not. I feel that we were just lucky to keep up in the crowds and find our way into the museum. Our group leader was completely oblivious and uncaring. I do not recommend this specific tour group.

Very crowded and the guide who was very nice and knowledgeable. Unfortunately her equipment was malfunctioning and constantly had to readjust the cord as it kept cutting out so sometimes unless you were right next to her you heard nothing. Not her fault. Maybe I should have done more investigating to know that the crowds were going to be so large and very pushy and sometimes rude ! Live and learn So cut the tour short and went out before the Sistine Chapel! But the staircase was brutal getting out !
We upgraded upon arrival to having a guide for our tour, it was $35 Euro each. It was well worth the extra cost to have such a knowledge English speaking guide to show us the highlights for 2 hours. Ami was fantastic and very interesting to listen to and learn from. I would not of understood what I was seeing without her and I am thankful. If we wanted to stay longer and see more, the pass would have allowed us to stay until closing.
I was initially confused how this tour worked but the guys found us at our meet up location, we passed by the long line outside the Vatican and they delivered us to our tour guide very quickly. Our tour guide throughout the Vatican was extremely knowledgeable about the history and artwork. She kept us together the whole time and moved us around a lot of people visiting that day. I would’ve booked with this company just to avoid the long lines at the entrance. It was totally worth it.
Incredible experience getting to learn so much about this holy history in the Vatican and getting to see the Sistine Chapel in person.
Very efficient and easy to follow, lots of info on the sigyhs we were shown.
Our Guide made it super easy to get in through security, get our tickets and he took us right to the main entrance to the museum
Thrre are multiple tours through the Vatican Museums, all ending with the Sustine Chapel. The tour guide was attentive and provided a goog overview to the sculptures and paintings we encountered. i highly recommend this tour.
Disappointed - we were early to the allocated meeting point and first contact was with a guy who tried to say that we had booked an unguided tour and then tried to upsell us to a more expensive option. He then spoke to a guy who was sitting on his phone. Who said to us ‘come on let’s go’ he then proceeded to take us past all the lines in silence while he continued to text on his phone! We were then taken to an official tour point and told that this was the tour. We were handed head sets and added to the back of a tour that had already started. We missed bits of crucial information regarding the Sistine Chapel. All in all we felt a little lost. The tripadvisor explanation did not really explain the situation well. I could not recommend. This tour is not appropriate for children. It is unlikely they will enjoy it.
We upgraded out tickets to include a guide because is was so crowded that we didn’t feel we could navigate by ourseleves. The guide was very good full is history. The skip the line option is worthwhile. Our only complaint was the quality on the headsets.
This tour was fantastic, our guide was very informed and really helped us navigate all the treasures of the Vatican museum. Of course the Sistine Chapel was the star.
Quick easy experience. Fair price. Great tour by guide
The guide was helpful getting us through the lines and into the museum, and navigating the entry process for us.
Great experience! Easy meet up and easy entry. ALWAYS worth it to skip the line. These guys are friendly and efficient.
We did the English-speaking tour and our guide was fantastic! She was very enthusiastic and made it engaging. Tour was about an hour and fifteen minutes
Rossi was very knowledgeable about the Colosseum and the outdoor areas of Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. She was very conscientious about the group and the heat we had to deal with.
My husband and I were happy we elected to do the evening tour because it was much less crowded compared to the day time tours. Just wear comfortable shoes and come hydrated. It’s a lengthy tour with a lot of art history. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and thorough. We enjoyed the tour, it probably could have been a little shorter, but that’s only because my husband and I aren’t huge art history enthusiasts and we were jet lagged from an overnight flight 🤪 The Sistine chapel is breathtaking and a must see. Definitely get the skip the line option! The lines were a mile long for those who waited to buy their tickets the same day.
Just that there will be an attempt to upsell you to a guided tour. It turns out the guided tour is an excellent way to see the Vatican
Very easy with app map instructions. Make sure you have data and your phone is charged. Skip the line was worth it. There were 2-3 hour ques. We waited maybe 10-15 minutes.
We ended up doing this experience because the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel tickets through the Vatican had already sold out. As such, we didn’t mind paying a bit extra for the ticket since it guaranteed entry. Our tour guide, Claudia, was very knowledgeable and passionate about teaching us about the various aspects of the Vatican. She made it very easy for us to go through all the main attractions in 2 hours. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Our guide was unbelievably knowledgeable and made the experience unforgettable. Truly grateful we got her as our guide!
Got them without a hitch! Came digitally a few days before. Great museum! And came in clutch as the official website was sold out
We were so disappointed in this tour. The description led us to believe that we would have a “tour” of the Chapel and the Museums. That was not the case! Once we arrived we were told that our tickets were just to get us in the museum but then we would have to wait in multiple entries to get in and that we would not see the Chapel because the lines were too long. In order for us to see the Chapel we “needed” to take a guided tour for another 100 euro. That would get us a skip the line guided tour of the museums, the chapel and the basilica. While the guide was good and knowledgeable he literally dropped us off in the foyer before the basilica entrance. There were no lines once we were inside, despite what we were led to believe. We could have done it ourselves once inside. The whispers from the museum were awful. They wouldn’t stay on or in. I would not recommend this company - but VIATOR is great - they should get rid of this company.
Sandra was fantastic in her knowledge of the content of the museum, the history, and in her ability to navigate the extremely dense crowds.
We had a problem with our taxi (unrelated to this service) on the way there and I thought we were going to miss our entry because of it. When I contacted them to inform them about it they were fast to respond, went above and beyond by helping us with translation with the taxi driver, and then still helped us get in, skipping the line as promised, despite being almost 30 minutes late to our meeting point!
The experience was so much more than I thought it would be; the museums contain art that no-one would know about if ot wasn’t kept there.
This people charge an extra €50 for no line, for a super experience and guided tour. She had to pay at the Vatican extra for the guided tour, it was super hard to find them because the people at the entrance don’t take the PDF on your phone, you have to get the print paper from them, and we had to do the line for 30min
Dario was very professional and made the start of our Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel experience smooth and stress-free. He was organized, punctual, and ensured everything was handled efficiently so we could focus on enjoying the visit. Even in a very busy environment, he kept things clear and straightforward, which we really appreciated. Overall, a seamless experience and a great first impression of the Vatican visit.
The ticket is worth euro 25 if booked ahead online…everything above that you are paying for convenience. Decide for yourself but to me it was a complete ripoff.
Don’t book a later tour if you want to go to basilica was told can not go as to late n church would be closed should have been clear in booking. Also guide talked way to much was like drinking water from fire hydrant never paused just talked and talked. Also if point to pictures outside with stick that has big scarf on it. You can not see pics!
lots of stairs, but very beautiful, tour guide was well informed and helpful, skipping the line was worth it
Great option if you want to skip the lines but want to enjoy your visit at your own pace without a guide. We also took advantage of an optional skip the line for St Peter’s Basilica before our Vatican museum tour. A guide met up with us in front of the Basilica, escorted us through security and then let us explore at our own pace. An hour later he met us at a different meetup location closer to the museums and led us through the crowd of people right to the front of the line , and stayed with us till we cleared security and all the lines to get in.
It suppose to be a skip line but there’s more queue than the normal line , pathetic , had to wait 30 minutes and I spent a lot of money for thetickets
It was great because we didn’t have to stand in line, and the guy took us all the way upfront He was very friendly and very courteous
Very expensive just to skip the line but it was kind of worth it . He was kind and did show me how to go about it?!
Booked this excursion before getting to Rome , it was quick and easy . Got instructions were to pick up tickets , so simple . I would highly recommend
Excellent skip-the-line experience! The entrance was well organized and we avoided the long queues for visitors without reservations. There is still a short security check (10 minutes) , but it moved very quickly and saved us a lot of time overall. Everything was clear and smooth, and it made our visit much more enjoyable. Definitely worth it and highly recommended!
This is just an expensive ticket. We still had to queue- it moved fast but it was the same queue as everyone else. Tour company changed our start time based on the Sistine Chapel - which we later found out was closed for the entire day 😞
Sooooo thankful we did this! A little confusing as to where to meet, but once we found Dario, so easy to get in. Doing the tour at our own pace is the way to go, glad we didn't get in on a tour group. Got to see things that others didn't visit. Highly recommend this ticketing experience.
It was overcrowded, could not hear our guide due to the overcrowding. Moved through so fast do not know what we were looking at. The sistine chapel was not at all enjoyable. Way too many people all talking and taking photis and 1 door exit with hundreds of people. Disgusting. The only good areas were the gardens and the garage of all the Pope vehicles, that was excellent.
I did this same tour back in March and had a great experience with correct meeting place, time, and getting right to the front of the line. I booked again a few weeks ago and was very disappointed in the lack of leadership and planning on the tour guides part. We didn't "skip the line" and the guide was an hour late then the scheduled time we booked for. We didn't have long in Rome so the time at the Vatican was rushed which was unfortunate. I would recommend just buying a ticket when you get there and waiting in line because that's what we had to do anyway.
This is really a ticket delivery service but is definitely helpful. The guy met us, gave us our tickets and escorted us up to the ticket machine at the entry. He was very friendly and answered our questions while we waited in line.
Must see in Rome. I spent all day and was easily able to guide myself. I got tickets here because Vatican website was counterintuitive.
I am so glad I booked this service. The line looked so long but we went inside in less than 5 minutes. It was fast and our guide took us up to the entrance of the museum which we were happy about. Definitely recommend and worth it!
Very easy instructions which from what I read of other tours is one of the most frustrating parts, our guide was outside of the cafe 15 minutes prior wearing a bright blue coat with the company name. We were sitting at the Expresso cafe down the way and was able to spot him, also do NOT eat at the cafe they have you meet at, the prices are not correctly reflected with a 12% increase. The expresso cafe down the way was amazing with extremely friendly staff. We met our guide and he was very sweet and nice, fluent in a few languages. He guided us through the entrance, yes even if you have a skip the line pass you will most likely be in a line with everyone else that also has skip the line passes, it goes very quick though. Our guide had our vouchers printed for us and showed us where the audio tour was and we did the self guided from there which is 1,000 times better than shuffling in those insanely large groups. Avoiding the large groups was definitely the down side.
Vatican was so crowded, we kept losing our guide and voice connection. Moved too quickly to appreciate anything.
This tour provided entrance tickets and skip the line only. It was exactly what we wanted. We purchased headsets at the entrance to the Vatican museum to self guide once inside. If that is what you are looking for then this tour is for you. They delivered everything promised. Meeting spot was easy to find and they quickly got us into the museum with no waiting in line. Great service!
Great way to get into the Vatican. No tour guide. All on your own which was great. Lots of walking and expect lots ots of people.
Very informative and interesting. Was not rushed. Had plenty of time to see everything we wanted to.
Had a little difficulty identifying who to meet but once we did no problems. The rep was helpful and we moved easily into museum, among the throngs of people
