Self-guided Vatican & Sistine: Skip-the-line Ticket

was very happy with this service. Everything was well organized, clear and easy to understand, and the whole process of getting into the Vatican Museums was quick and smooth. Yes, you pay more than for a regular entrance ticket, but for me it was absolutely worth it. On the day of my visit, the regular queue outside was extremely long and in the heat I would probably have spent more than two hours just waiting to get inside. With this service, I avoided all of that and entered very quickly. Everything worked exactly as it should: clear meeting point, good organization and fast entry. I would definitely recommend this option, especially on busy and hot days.

Very fast and easy entry to the museums

The I love Rome team were easy to find, on time, efficient, friendly and helpful. We chose a self-guided, skip the line ticket. Which was definitely worth it to avoid long no ticket lines. Separate from that, I wouldn’t advise the Vatican Museum tour unless it’s absolutely on your bucket list. We got in at 10:30, and it was overcrowded with tour groups with no spatial awareness and made navigating the museum unbearable, and there is nowhere out but through once you’re in. If you have to go on this tour in peak summer, I would suggest keeping hydrated, bring a handheld fan, and a full belly.

It was exactly as described. I was met at the specified location and walked directly to the Vatican Museums entrance to ensure that everything went ok.

Rip off! Very few PINK hop on hop off buses as compared to the BIG BUS company. Waited an hour to finally catch a ride only to stand. When seated our earphone jacks didn’t work. Big bus has a 10/1 bus advantage serving their patrons!!

Staff was punctual and efficient. I was unsure about the need for a fast track ticket at first, but it was proved worth it and even necessary as soon as we saw the line. I made sure to time our ingress from meeting point to the Vatican gardens and it took us 24min which felt impossible at first given the amount of people and huge (group) lines. If you want a more seamless ingress experience, I’d recommend getting this ticket with them. My family was 100% satisfied.

Daniele was our guide, we had a great day, he was very positive, great knowledge. Kept us moving. Checked on us to make sure we were managing ok on the different types of terrain. We were on a cruise so we needed to be back on time which he made sure to check on.

Great communication, I was in the meeting per Google Maps, but received a call that made connection easy. Then one of their agents walked through all the lines and checkpoint. This tour did not have us download a program and use our phones. We did use the Vatican audio devices ($8 each) but they ran strong for the 5-1/2 hours we used them. You can easily take 8+ hours in this tour, if you like history and you’re allowed to get close to artifacts.

The tour guide saw I was using a rollator but walked very quickly from the meeting place to the entrance and I struggled to keep up. Apart from showing us where to queue I didn’t see the point of this tour. Vatican staff waved us through as I was disabled and were really helpful inside. We were able to borrow a wheelchair. It’s a long way to push someone though so be warned. There are many very beautiful and peaceful churches in Rome which we preferred.

Everything was perfect. We skipped the line very quickly. Our guide was friendly and she left us into the Vatican to the right point.

The meeting place was easy to find, check in was easy. Instructions were given and paper tickets were distributed. We walked as a group to the Vatican museum entrance. The tour leader walked a little too fast and it was hard to keep up. But we all got there passing up the very long lines. Well worth it.

We had the best experience yesterday, when on tour with our hilarious and extremely knowledgeable tour guide Fabio. Travelling all the way from Australia he was such a joy and made the tour of the Vatican & Sistine chapel so easy to navigate around the amazing landmarks. It was such a beautiful day and I recommend the tour and Fabio’s tours!

This ticket was easy to book. We found the check-in location easily and enjoyed the visit to the museum at our own pace. A beautiful experience.

SCAM! Do not book with Gray Line. They advertised €41 they charged €65.90 per ticket. Then we met our guide, she walked us a very short distance from door to Vatican. She handed us tickets, which were the €25 tickets, same as ones you buy just inside, gave zero information, I asked her who I should talk to about my incorrect charges and she said just contact gray line, so no help there whatsoever. They she drops everyone off at line to Vatican. No instructions, no nothing. You can buy ungraded skip the line tickets just inside for €25. What you get for your money: walked across the street for a € 40 fee in addition to your regular ticket. Honestly this Gypsy scam practice should be illegal. I will be reporting them to anyone who will listen and also having to dispute incorrect website pricing to our credit card company.

Purchasing the skip the line ticket was well worth it especially if you do not have the patience to queue up a very long line. The meet up place was easy to find and they guided us to the skip the line entrance gate. The museum itself was magnificent. The only thing I did not like was when we reached the Sistine Chapel, the chapel/museum staffs were just basically rushing us to exit the place, we did not even had the time to pray inside. The chapel was small and packed with tourists, this was probably the reason why they were basically shooing us to the exit. Nevertheless, the ticket providers were great.

Excellent choice. No long wait of hard to understand Tour guide. Quick and able to choose what to take pictures at. No warted time. Commonwealth sense applicable.

The experience was just as expected! We picked up our tickets in the Piazza described. We chose to walk to the entrance ourselves rather than waiting for the other people who booked the self-guided tour but the guide told us exactly what to do then we were free to wonder the many rooms of the Vatican museum

Favio Is an excelente spanish Guide. I love this one day tour. 100% recomended it. It took 3 hours to make both Capilla Sistina and San Petters Church.

AVOID! You’re better off skipping the line with the people advertising there! Either look into another booking but DO NOT spend your money here as it will be a waste. There were several of us stranded at the meeting spot and we were later blamed for not being on time even though we arrived around 3:47pm for the 4:00pm slot. Was not able to get a refund or was texted before to confirm my arrival like other companies.

I would NOT recommend booking with this company. We bought tickets and set a time, but they were unclear about the meeting point as well as the times. Ended up arriving at the time stated on the ticket but apparently had to meet before that. The location was also at some random plaza in front of a restaurant where the worker didn’t know much. There was another group that was also confused. Pretty poor service that they would not wait even a few minutes when there is a bunch of people still not there, and for that price! Called customer service and they told me that my ticket was now expired and they couldn’t do anything, not even a refund, and that I should’ve read the instructions. Definitely go with another place! For the price we paid this kind of service was not worth it and there are many other companies that would care more about their customers.

Tour guide excellent. Very knowledgeable, learned a lot. Stunning art and architecture, worth going.

I would recommend the company but the directions to meet someone for getting us I got the museum were very unclear. Wasted 30 min. On the phone with the company, to get no where.

The Vatican Museums are a recommended trip to the people who want to see the Sistine Chapel, so it would be very interesting.

Davide was an excellent guide - impressively knowledgable with humorous banter along the way. My 8 year old also went and kept up most of the way too so it just have been entertaining! The tour was 3 hours and due to the crowds there is only one pace you can go...slowly (which is not the fault of the guide or company) just too many people crammed into a small space which meant the Basilica tour at the end felt a little rushed due to a lack of time. The museums and Sistine Chapel are so impressive - it is a must do - I’d like to do it all again during the quieter months.

Meeting point unclear, no signage, no guide on site - we wandered around - even the café with the green facade gave us incorrect information

We had not chosen a guided tour but skip-the-line tickets for this visit. Thanks to Grey Line who had specially dedicated a person to us, we were able to go back up the very, very, very long line in record time and be led to the entrance of the museums. What precious time we saved!!! Thank you.

Easily found to the meeting point and from there guided through all the lines and security checks to the museum. Can only recommend with all the hustle and bustle and the many people.

Organization from your side good. Way to the museum and to the entrance inside very hectic and fast. Poor overview to the guide and for people who are not too good by foot are almost not feasible to come along. The organization (read Org. in front of the museum, scan....) messy and absolutely not professionally done.

They were kind and waited for the retards. It’s really good to be helped with where the door is, taught a little by getting to the museum hall.

There were contingencies that were not their fault and they did everything to accommodate us. We greatly appreciated their customer focus.

Everything was explained very well and everything was understood. Sometimes it's rolled up a bit but we liked it that way.

L'adresse de rendez vous non précise, nous sommes arrivés en retard il est vrai, le groupe party, des difficultés à joindre quelqu'un qui nous a dit que les 4 billets étaient perdus, échangeables ni pour une autre heure ni pour un autre jour. J'ai donc rachète des billets au musée du Vatican, rapidement et pour beaucoup moins cher. Viator sera la dernière fois pour nous.
