Rome: Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel Fun Tour

Stefano and Sevada were absolutely fantastic guides! I highly recommend them, very knowledgeable and informative.

Sevada is the ultimate guide! She was super fun interesting and entertaining. Her depth of understanding and thoughtful approach to history really stood out. Time well spent!

Only reason for getting 2 stars was that the guide was knowledgeable. Tour got pushed 45 minutes. 12 person max was 20 people. Scheduled the "fun" tour for kids and the guide was just a plain guide, did not try to be fun. Late start required us to go quickly through the end.

Sevada knows her history! We took the museum and Sistine Chapel tour and it was just one incredible exhibit after another. Sevada had all the background information and context to keep everything in perspective. Her stories of ancient lore made the whole experience a fantastic time for our teenage girls , Audrey probably took a thousand pictures! Thank you Sevada for a remarkable time.

The whole experience was amazing! The tour was interesting and fun and it felt like we had the whole vatican museum to ourselves. Mike was truely magic ;)

Asked to arrive at a set time but didn't get into the museum for about 45mins. All seemed a bit chaotic. Guide was OK but took ages to get going. Gave a lot more information when asked questions. I'm not sure I'd recomend this tour.

This was a great intro tour. Mike was a good tour guide and funny. It started late which limited how much time we had in the Sistine Chapel but overall I appreciated the tour.

Was suppose to start at 5 pm. Got changed to 5:30 pm. Didn’t arrive to the museum until 6 pm. We were suppose to have 30 min in Sistine Chapel and 2 hrs in museum. We were rushed out as everything was closing. We were in taxi coming back to hotel by 8 pm. Not really what they advertised.

Our guide for the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel tour was Alfredo. He delivered a great experience. Going at the end of the day was perfect - the crowd was moderate, we moved easily through the museum, and we never felt rushed. Alfredo walked us directly into the building and we were through the security checkpoint and on our way within minutes. The museum is stunning. You can turn your head in virtually any direction and find something new to enjoy. Alfredo does an excellent job of directing attention to key exhibits and he provides outstanding context and insights. We were able to spend plenty of time within the Sistine Chapel taking in the art and just relishing the history that has transpired within that room. I highly recommend NotBoringTours. It was exactly what we hoped for and we’re 100% satisfied.

Mike was the best!!! He was so knowledgeable entertaining it was nice that it was a small group. If you can request, Mike definitely do it and the tour group itself was fantastic.

Great trip! Our tour guide Mike was very informative and interesting. I don’t consider myself a huge museum fan but he kept me intrigued the entire time with interesting backstories about the church, the Romans and the artifacts that I would never have known if I went in on my own. Very cool stuff!

A great tour! The communication / instructions prior to the tour were extremely helpful and the meeting point was easy to find. We chose the 5pm time slot and highly recommend! There was barely any wait for security which meant we didn’t have to stand outside and wait in the heat. Jason was our tour guide and was extremely knowledgeable and passionate. The perfect Vatican museum tour. Due to the later time slot the museum is way less crowded and at times it felt like we had the place to ourselves - a dream! Mike focuses on what you truly need to know and highlights all the interesting facts while keeping it entertaining. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Vatican. Mike was great - super funny, engaging and the information he gave was so good! We learnt a lot but didn’t feel overwhelmed but loads and loads of information, was super digestible. He really engaged with the group and made it a fun experience for everyone involved. If we come back to Rome, we will definitely be joining the tour again!

Mike from Ohio was amazing! Kept the kids as well as the adults entertained during the entire visit. 5 pm was the perfect time for visiting the Museums and Sistine Chapel.

Great tour on a hot and busy day. We barely made it in before line was cut off. Had a lot of knowledge about the Vatican.

The tour overall was good and informative, but not worth the money we paid. If you are looking for a fast entry don’t get your hopes up. This tour was supposed to be fast entry of maximum 10 minutes wait, we were standing under the burning sun for 45-50 minutes. There were couple of other lines moving much faster.

We can’t believe how fortunate we were to have Jason, an art history professor, as our guide! We took the 5:00 tour and highly recommend that time of day for lighter crowds and beautiful light. The tour was fun (living up to the billing of “not boring”) and we learned a lot. Can’t recommend this tour with Jason enough. Grazie!

This was a wonderful!. We did the 5 PM tour, our guide was from Ohio and he was super friendly and made the tour very interesting. We all really enjoyed it. I highly recommend the 5 PM because it’s not as crowded!

Excellent tour guide! American from Ohio. We had a long line at the vatican, since it's their high season, the gentleman kept us entertained the entire way with great historical stories. Highly recommend, excellent experience.

Close meeting place to the Vatican Museum! Friendly and knowledgeable guide! Covered a lot in a small timeframe!

Our tour guide was 10 minutes late. We had to finally start walking to the museums ourselves to go catch up with our guide. Our headsets did not fit comfortably at all. They kept falling off, and a lot of us had to hold them to hear. Our tour guide was very quiet, and he spoke very quickly. I could only understand about every 5th word he spoke. We also had a few tourists who signed up for our tour who only spoke Spanish, so our tour guide was put on the spot to give the tour in two different languages at the same time. With this happening, our tour went incredibly quick. It said it was a 2.5 hour tour… and we were done within 1.25 hours. I think I would not book this again and would just go do it myself. It was not hard to get into the museum and read the information ourselves. I booked many tours while traveling, and this one was our worst one.

Excellent tour. Mike is the best. Super friendly, very knowledgeable and he’s American so easy to understand everything he says.

Terrible. Of course, Mike is friendly and funny, but he has no artistic insight of the pieces in the museums. The tour started 30 min later than scheduled because we had to wait for late people, and actually, after the 30 min delay, the first 15 min was him talking about HIMSELF and how he's the best guide tour in the world. After we enter the museum, he wasted another 20 minutes talking about the titanic or ANYTHING not related to the museums or art or the Vatican itself. I knew it was a short 2.5 hour tour but practically is only one hour worth in actual seeing the pieces as he wastes a lot of time with trivial jokes not related to religion or art, trying not to bore american tourists, hence the name 'not boring tours'. Complete waste of money, we decided to leave the group after he just kept not advancing and not explaining anything beyond 'yea this pope was cool' 'yea see this guy over there he liked drinking'. If you are coming to the Sistine chapel just for your bucket list then hire him, but if you want to learn something about this gigantic and important museum Mike is not the guide for you.

I’m actually a Tour Guide and I’ve toured the Vatican a number of times but this was by far the best experience I’ve ever had. We got to go through the Vatican and there were almost no people at all. It was actually unbelievable. Mike did such an incredible job. He’s the best Tour Guide I’ve ever had in my entire life. Great job, my friend.

Scam. Stay away from this company. The tour was bad and we ended up just walking away and going through ourselves. Turns out Vatican city is just like other cities; it has rats. This company is terrible. Our tickets were canceled due to jubilee preparations so we waited in line. A woman came up to us and asked to see our tickets. She identified herself as a Vatican employee and gave every appearance of working there. 20/20 hindsight we should have asked the others in line. She told us we could try to get in but the only way left was with a tour. We kept asking if people waiting in line could just go in but she kept saying no they would wait for hours and not get in. We asked to think it over and she wouldn't leave us alone which was a big red flag.

Mike was great. Easy meet up, he was knowledgeable, and a fun guy. Definitely would recommend him for your tour.

Mike was great! We booked two tours through them after enjoying the first so much. My son and I were constantly entertained and informed while exploring the sites. Perfect for a laid-back environment and seeing all of the attractions.

My mom and I were scheduled for a morning tour of the Vatican with another company however, our taxi driver got into a car accident resulting in us missing the tour. Everything happens for a reason because we were lucky enough to find Mike and did his 5pm tour. Less crowds and more opportunity to learn and appreciate the art and history of the Vatican. The “Not Boring Tour” name speaks for itself, we were thoroughly entertained by Mike’s explanations. His story about the history of the Popes, more specifically John Paul II, had my mom tearing up by the end. You can tell he is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Rome and the Vatican. I would highly recommend taking this tour!

Our visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chappel was absolutely enlightening and entertaining. The stories our tour leader (Mike) told us were truthful but unknown to me. Moving stories about the different pope's throughout the centuries. How & why different art paintings and statues were created by their original authors, etc. I recommend Mike wholeheartedly for anyone visiting this beautiful place in Rome.

It is primarily focused on the Sistine Chapel. And visited that in the last 10 minutes of 2.5 hour tour. Very little time spent in Vatican museum. Waited in "unreserved" ticket line for 45 minutes because evidently the guide does not purchase tickets/reservations before the tour.
