Rome: Somm-led Fine Italian Wine & Dinner In A Renaissance Palace

Alex was amazing. We learned so much about the wine, the food and the culture. He easily taught the simple and complex. It was a most enjoyable and enriching experience. The main course was unbelievable and the dessert was a true treat. We will be telling folks about this experience for decades.

My husband and I spent 17 days in Italy for our honeymoon. This dinner was our last event of the trip before we left. We had a private dinner with Alessandro at Casa Bleve. Alessandro was so knowledgeable and willing to answer all of our questions. The food was amazing and this was by far our favorite experience of our trip! We gained a lot of knowledge about wine & food pairings from an expert that we will take home and use in the future! Alessandro was amazing - can’t imagine anyone better!

This experience was very personalized and the meal was great. Alex was very knowledgable and did a great job of explaining the wine pairings as well telling of culture and history to winemaking. He also offered information about each serving during our meal. He was very personable and made for a great host. Getting to see the restaurant cellar was a bonus! Highly recommended!!

My wife and I ended up having a private experience with our guide Alessandro. He is an Italian sommelier and created a fantastic environment for us to try Italian food and pair them with wine from different regions in Italy. I’d recommend anyone to take this tour with Alessandro.

We took a fantastic food and wine pairing tour in Rome on Monday, just outside the Pantheon, and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide, Alex, was incredible. He had an impressive depth of knowledge about wine, food pairings, Roman history, and the neighborhood itself. We learned a lot — and not in a boring classroom kind of way, thank goodness. This was the good kind of learning, with wine involved. What really stood out was Alex’s knowledge of cooking and food preparation. His background in the food service industry added so much to the experience and helped us better appreciate each dish and pairing. Excellent tour, excellent guide, and a great way to experience Rome through food, wine, and local history. Highly recommended!

Alex was beyond amazing for our guide. He was not only knowledgeable but also very personable. My significant other and I had a wonderful time just chatting with him and we were thoroughly impressed with his depth of knowledge about wine and the local food. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the staff at the restaurant were very friendly. I mentioned it was my partners birthday and Alex took it upon himself to inform the staff, to which my partner received a candle and was sung happy birthday to. We were supposed to be with a group but we were the only two that booked the tour. Or sommelier Alex did not cancel and gave us a a private experience we will never forget. He had so much knowledge and taught us so much about pairing the right wine with each course. The restaurant was wonderful and he took us on a tour of the ancient bath house in basement now a wine seller. The wine was wonderful and the food did not disappoint. I was so thankful that Alex did not cancel because we were the only people signed up, we had another tour do that and it was very disappointing after booking so far in advance. This was one of our hi lights in Rome!

We had an amazing time with Alessandro with our food and wine pairing! The food was incredible and Alessandro (our sommelier) so much fun to learn all about wine, the food, and Italian culture. We didn’t want the dinner to end! We now feel more competent when it comes to wine and would absolutely book again to learn even more. This was one of our favorite nights of our honeymoon so far!

We booked through Viator—the other people that had booked didn’t show up, so it was just two of us for dinner. Our sommelier was Alessandro. He was fabulous! He made us feel welcome, comfortable and was very knowledgeable about food & wine. We really enjoyed our evening and would Highly recommend!

Alessandro was our Sommeliers. Our experience was excellent! He took time to explain each wine and why it was paired with each food item. He even made sure we knew how to get to our next destination but guiding us there after dinner. This was an amazing experience.

Our guide Clelia was delightful, the food was delicious, with perfect portions. Each course paired nicely with wine. Clelia guided us through the regions of Italy as she explained the wine and food choices. The Restaurant Choice was also perfect. I’ll be eating there again.

This is our 2nd time booking this dinner. Not nearly as good of an experience as the first time. The first booking we enjoyed the wine cellar experience and were offered wine, meats and cheeses with a wonderful explanation of the family’s restaurant history, this time nothing. They should change the reservation name and lose the wine cellar experience. Also, the first time, our portions were bigger and we were offered extra wine. This time, small portions, tiny glasses of wine. We brought our whole family this time and talked up the experience from the first booking, this one was a total let down and would not recommend spending the money. We left hungry and thirsty.

Don't miss this memorable evening and wine education. All was excellent including our guide. Great time to making new friends in a wonderful atmosphere .
