Rome: Skip The Line Vatican, Sistine Chapel, St Peter Small Group

Our tour guide was Maria Claudia, and she was absolutely wonderful! She was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and shared so much interesting history and fun facts along the way. She had great energy. This was the last tour of our trip, and it was such an amazing way to end our time in Italy! Our morning got off to a bit of a rough start when we got caught in Rome traffic and were running late. We were so worried the tour would leave without us, but Liv Tours was incredibly understanding. They allowed us to keep them updated on our arrival and patiently waited for us without any issues. We truly appreciated their flexibility and understanding. Claudia made the experience so enjoyable with all of her knowledge, stories, and fun facts. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide or a better final tour of our trip. Highly recommend!

This was an excellent tour. Our guide Annalisa, was very knowledgeable, she was right on it with navigating the entire Vatican. Pleasant and personable. She stated she had been giving tours for 10 years and it showed. Highly recommend the tour and Annalisa.

We had a fantastic experience on this tour, largely thanks to our wonderful guide Ferrari! We were traveling with a large group that included young children as well as my mom, who has some mobility challenges, and our guide couldn't have been more patient, understanding, or accommodating. She was incredibly thoughtful about the different needs of our group, never making anyone feel rushed or like an inconvenience. Traveling with a large, multigenerational group can sometimes be challenging, but she handled everything with kindness, flexibility, and a great attitude. What really stood out was how comfortable and welcome she made everyone feel. Her patience with the kids and consideration for my mom allowed all of us to relax and truly enjoy the experience. It's clear that she genuinely cares about the people on her tours and wants everyone to have a great experience. We really appreciated her professionalism, warmth, and willingness to accommodate our group. We would absolutely recommend this tour and would happily book with her again!

It was our first time in Italy and we loved the 2pm Vatican Highlights, Sistine Chapel & St. Peter’s Basilica/Semi-Private Tour. Tetyana (our tour guide) was very passionate and extremely knowledgeable. Easy to talk to when we had questions. We learned so much about the history behind it.

Visiting the Vatican is something I have wanted to do for a very long time, and this tour exceeded all my expectations. Without question, Eva was our favorite tour guide during our two weeks in Italy. She was incredibly friendly, overflowing with compelling historical information, and, despite the insane crowds, kept us all close and expertly directed us to the best viewing spots. Eva’s art history background was on display throughout the tour—even during our 45-minute wait in line. FYI, early access/skip the line doesn’t avoid all lines.

We did a private tour with costanza. She was super friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed our time with her and I would book with Livtours again and ask for her. Costanza had so much information to give and her passion is incredible!

We had the pleasure of exploring the Vatican with Sissi from Livtours, and she was truly exceptional. Her depth of knowledge was remarkable, and she had a wonderful ability to bring the history, art and stories of the Vatican to life in a way that was both fascinating and engaging. What made Sissi particularly special, however, was her warmth, kindness and genuine thoughtfulness. She was attentive, considerate and respectful throughout, ensuring that everyone felt comfortable and included. Her passion for what she does was evident, and she struck the perfect balance between sharing her extensive knowledge and making the experience enjoyable and personal. We were visiting with our two boys, and Sissi was absolutely brilliant with them. She made a real effort to engage them throughout, keeping the tour interactive with interesting questions, stories and discussions that captured their attention. She had a wonderful way of making the history accessible and exciting without ever oversimplifying it. It made such a difference to our experience as a family, and we particularly appreciated the care she took to ensure the boys felt involved and interested. Sissi made our visit to the Vatican all the more memorable, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have had her as our guide. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She is everything you could wish for in a guide — knowledgeable, engaging, thoughtful and genuinely lovely. For anyone visiting the Vatican, particularly families with children or teenagers, I would wholeheartedly recommend requesting Sissi. She truly elevates the entire experience, and I cannot imagine having had a better guide. An absolute pleasure from beginning to end!

Even with skip the line tickets you will still need to wait at certain points as it is very busy. Our guide was very well informed and answered questions from our group and took extra care to be sure if we had specific things we were interested that we were able to see.

Louisa gave our small group of 7 people such a fantastic tour. She is personable, warm, highly knowledgeable, and navigated us very well through dense crowds. She addressed each of us by our names and it felt like she was a good friend. I recommend this tour to anyone who wants to visit Vatican City! Also, our IDs were pre-verified and we did not have to show our passports with our tickets at the entry.

All the pre-tour information provided by Viator and LivTour was excellent. It is a very busy environment, so I appreciated knowing exactly where to meet, getting directions in a format that was on my iPhone, etc. I wish so badly that I could remember my tour guide’s name so badly. We have been traveling for 3 weeks and he was by far the best we have had. I remember he is very well educated, passed the exam to be a certified tour guide and knew so much interesting information, and managed to provide it in a way that made what we were seeing come to life! He was simply exceptional.

We had Gulia for our Vatican and St. Peter’s tour on Oct 22nd, she was so wonderful and knowledgeable. On Friday Oct 23rd we had the colosseum tour. So we asked for her again. She is a great representative on your company.

The Vatican/Sistine Chapel/St Peter LivTour private excursion was top-notch. Gabriella, our guide, was wonderful. She brought a ton of sincerity, spirituality and passion to the tour. Gabriella capped off our 1st pilgrmage to The Holy See. We hope that future guides can be as great as she. Rating = 10/10.

Dario was excellent as our tour guide. We had a small group, so it was very personalized. Lots of little tidbits that were educational. Highly recommended!

I loved the tour. Fabrizio was an excellent guide-- so knowledgeable, a very good speaker, and a kind soul. I already recommended this tour to other friends who are in Rome now. The Vatican Museums could have been overwhelming, but Fabrizio showed us the most important items in each room and gave us a very thorough explanation of the Sistine Chapel before we went in. I feel very fortunate to have had him for a guide. Grazie mille.

During our time in Rome, we kept hearing either, “Don’t go to the Vatican” or “We had a horrible time at the Vatican.” My wife and I had an amazing time at the Vatican because of LivTours and especially Oksana. She was AWESOME! She was patient, knowledgable and passionate about the subject matter which made the tour so much fun. It was so nice for the tour to be only six people, so we could all ask questions (which Oksana really encouraged/loved), and we could move fluidly through the museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s. We can’t recommend Oksana enough. If there’s a way to ask for her specifically, I’d do it!

Meeting point was easy, contacts and guides were prompt and courteous, "skip the line" and small group only way to go, guide was very knowledgeable, tour is worth the extra $.

Visiting the Vatican, St. Peter's Basilica, and Sistine Chapel was a truly special experience, with so much incredible art, history, and beauty to take in. It is breathtaking to see all of the art in both the church and the chapel. And, because this was a semi-private tour, our guide was able to move us in and around quickly without getting caught up in the big group tours. The marble sculpture in the Basilica that Michealanglo made of Blessed Mary holding Jesus after his death was absolutely stunning and our guide made sure we were able to get up close to view this masterpeice. A few minor suggestions: Due to the ambient noise all around in the Basilica, it was difficult to fully absorb all the information our guide was sharing as he spoke a little too quickly. When he used his IPad to point out details and show us different things, he moved it around the group too quickly for everyone to get a good look. We highly recommend visiting these sites with a guide to help point out all of the details that would otherwise be missed if you don't know what you're looking at.

We really enjoyed our Vatican tour with Thomas! He was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much interesting history and information that we never would have known just walking through on our own. There is so much to see and take in at the Vatican, and Thomas did a wonderful job explaining the significance of everything and bringing the history and artwork to life. We especially appreciated how much we learned throughout the tour. His knowledge really added to the experience and made our visit even more memorable. We would highly recommend this tour, especially with Thomas as your guide!

What an amazing experience I had yesterday. I have never been to the Vatican so it was all such an overload of history. Tetyana was the reason why I walked away absolutely satiated in knowledge and experiences. She is truly brilliant and a wonderful tour guide. I could have spent all day with her exploring her depth of knowledge. She made everything come alive. She is also very kind and thoughtful and easy to be around. Wow! Took this as a private tour and can not rate it highly enough. Outstanding! We toured places no-one else goes like where the gifts to the popes are displayed, the various "pope mobiles" over the centuries and all the most important places. Our tour guide was amazing! Worth every dime!

I took a small group tour to Vatican City, which included the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel, and Saint Peter’s Basilica. Our guide was Giuseppe. He was a wealth of information, showed us all the highlights, provided great time management to make sure that we could get through our entire tour within the allotted time and most of all he was genuine and knowledgeable. If you ever have a chance to take a tour with Giuseppe, do it !

It was a good check the box tour. Our guide was a Iittle boring, it’s the crowds that are insane, so the skip the line part is 100% worth it!

The Sistine Chapel is an amazing place that we feel you must have a small or private tour to fully appreciate. There is so much to see and take in that it can be overwhelming. Our tour guide Sara was amazing! She is extremely knowledgeable and very professional. She explained everything in detail and we never felt rushed. She guided us thru the museum, chapel, and basilica effortlessly and far exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend both Sara and the tour to get the most out of your visit.
