Our family had a wonderful experience touring the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum during our time in Rome. Our guide, Emanuele (Manny), was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and provided lots of helpful imagery to demonstrate how the sites would have looked in their day. Though we were not able to visit the below-ground portion of the Colosseum as planned due to heavy rainfall, Manny brought us to the arena level to point out the important features, and was very patient every step of the way as we navigated the (literal) ups and downs. The Palatine Hill provided an excellent view of the Forum, Arch of Constantine, and Colosseum — would strongly recommend, as it helps to see the sites in context with one another. The imperial ramps down to the Forum are remarkably preserved, and it was truly moving to stand where emperors once stood. This history buff was in heaven!
Just finished a tour of the colosseum with underground access, palatine hill & the Roman Forum with Simone from City Eyes. Unfortunately, due to the city of Rome limiting access to tickets to the underground arena, we were unable to tour that area. However, City Eyes offered us a modified version of the tour at a reduced price, it was just without the underground. They communicated well with us regarding the changed details of the tour. Our private driver was prompt and professional, driving us to and from the Colosseum and ensuring we connected directly with our tour guide. Our private tour guide, Alessandro, was fantastic. He is an educated and experienced archeologist who was able to give us an unforgettable tour of the Colosseum. You HAVE to do this tour. Our guide, Emanuele was incredibly knowledgeable. What could have been a sight-seeing tour became an immersive learning experience. History, context, and visuals made for a never-dull 3 hours. Rome has many great things to offer, but you NEED to do this tour if you want to truly understand the history of this beautiful structure.

Our tour of Ancient Rome - The Forum, Palatine Hill & Colosseum (including underground) was one of our favorites. Our guide Marina was engaging, funny, knowledgeable and passionate. We learned so much about the meaning and purpose of the spaces, as well as the materials used in the construction of the basilicas & temples. We especially appreciated the rendered drawings she shared that helped bring the ruins to life. The Colosseum was incredible…if you’re on the fence about the underground, it’s worth it! First and foremost I only booked this tour because I wanted to book the underground so paid significantly more for a car service that absolutely was not needed. More importantly, the car service had issues on pick up and drop off so try to get an underground coliseum tour and you would be good to go. Our guide Rosie was incredible and knowledgeable of all things this tour had to offer. So for Rosie and the tour itself 10 stars for the private driving part…absolutely save your money and get an Uber back and forth.

We had a wonderful tour and fully emerged back in history. The underground experience really shows the ingenuity of the ancient Romans. We were so lucky to have Marco an archaeologists do out tour. The hotel pick-up was on time next time if would upgrade to the drop-off option due to the summer heat it would have been great. We learnt so much from Marco so many truly fascinating facts & stories about the many different activities that took place in the Colosseum & its development over time. The Forum was beautiful & the architecture for the time was amazing. Marco was very attentive to details & is passionate about the ruins & their history. Marco was very considered of my mobility issues arranging for me yo use lifts and doing the tour at a slower pace. We selected the Private Colosseum, Arena and Underground Tour with Pick-Up from our hotel. In addition, we added the Palatine Hill tour onto this. We were so fortunate to have Rosie (Rosalba) as our tour guide. She met us in our hotel lobby promptly and right on time. She was friendly and welcoming. Our ride to the Colosseum/Palatine Hill was very comfortable. Rosie pointed out highlights along the way with history and stories. My daughter and I were so interested in one of the sights pointed out on the way, that we walked back to it the next day for a closer look and some pictures. We started our tour with the Palatine Hill portion and Rosie was so knowledgeable and thorough in explaining the history and how society worked back then. I don't have an extensive knowledge of history myself, but I was able to get such a fantastic understanding of Roman history from Rosie's explanations. She was open to all our questions and was very relatable. She made history very interesting and engaging. This says a lot, as it was a very hot day in Rome. Rosie was very considerate and aware of our comfort, looking for shaded areas to stop and talk. We proceeded to the Colosseum after Palatine Hill for a very special Underground Tour. Rosie led the way making our entry seamless and smooth. It was a very special experience being in an area of the Colosseum that has limited access. Rosie was able to lead us through explaining what life looked like back then. It felt very private even though there were a few other small groups in the area. Rosie was able to maneuver the spaces with ease making it feel like we were the only ones there. There is so much to learn about these sights and I feel like we were really blessed to have Rosie share all of her knowledge with us about these special places. I felt like we were saying goodbye to a dear friend at the end of our tour. She helped us with directions on how to best get transportation back to our hotel before departing. We highly recommend getting Rosie (Rosalba) for this tour if you are fortunate enough to be able to. It was a day we made a lifetime memory. This is a tour that was well worth the investment.
This was an amazing tour! Our tour guide was Pamela Cavino, and I would highly recommend her. I wasn't sure what to expect as I did not know anyone who had done the underground tour before, but we were all very excited that we did it. It felt like we got to go through every inch of the Colosseum and learned so much about what went on there! We got to skip the very long lines and get right in everywhere we went. And we got to access areas that most tourists don't get to see. Pamela was so knowledgeable about everything and really brought history to life for us. It's a very "premium" tour, and I highly recommend our guide Pamela! We also added the Roman Forum tour and the Pantheon, both of which were excellent.

What a great experience! From pick up to drop off our day was absolutely perfect. Alysia brought us on a 3 hour journey starting with the underground of the colosseum, detailing the way the elevators systems, tunnels and gladiators moved and explained the culture of the spectators. We walked up Palatine Hill for an overview of ancient city, saw the Roman Forum and ended with a walk through ruins. One of our best private tours to date, I would highly recommend!

I forgot our guide’s name, but she was amazing and had tons of information. Seeing the Colosseum and Forum is spectacular on its own. However, you learn so much more when you have a great guide who can provide in depth information. Our private tour was fantastic for our family which includes our girls (17, 14, and 11). Despite being extremely tired from an early morning flight, our guide was extremely kind, and she was able to keep everyone entertained and eager to hear more information. The only issue we ran into, was that the tour did not provide a ride back to our hotel. We didn’t see this in the original posting, but later saw it in an email the day before the tour. Our guide was helpful with providing the best info to get back to our hotel. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants more than just surface level information.
Great way to see a different part of the iconic Colosseum. Not crowded and much cooler than up top. Also learned and saw a lot on the Palentine Hill. Enjoyed it and would recommend.

What a way to see the Colosseum!!! We learned so much and went to every nook and cranny of the amphitheater. Our guide, Azurra, was so so so knowledgeable. She also gets you around the big groups without delay. Then, she took us all through the Pallantine Hill and Forum. This was the best tour we took in Rome. Also, the driver was right on time, and drove very safe in a beautiful car.

Needs more stars, 5 isn't enough. Marta, our guide, was just brilliant. We never felt rushed so had time to ask a million questions and really soak in the atmospehere around both the Forum and the Colosseum itself. The underground tour just blew our minds. Book this and be sure to ask for Marta. She made the whole experence a hundred times better and sparked a real desire to learn even more about this awesome place.
The collosseum is a fantastic place no doubt but our guide often left us wanting more information. We also never made it to Palatine Hill nor all the way through the Forrest. I wish our guide would have picked up the pace at the first part of the tour so we could have seen all of what we expected and paid for.
