We had a brilliant experience from booking our private tour to the follow up including. Our guide, Gianluca, was very knowledgeable and he answered all our questions thoroughly. He was also funny and our teenagers didn’t get bored during the 3.5 hours, which was a bonus! Thank you for an amazing experience and for showing us some beautiful parts of Rome!

You’ll stroll through the bustling Piazza Navona, named the most beautiful square in Italy, which houses three magnificent fountains including the famous Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi (Fountain of the Four Rivers) by Bernini. Piazza Navona is also one of the liveliest squares of Rome with several quaint outdoor restaurants and cafes.
The Fountain of the Four Rivers in Rome's Piazza Navona, crafted by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, showcases allegorical statues representing four major rivers from different continents. Its grand design reflects the Baroque flair for drama and detail.
Continue walking among the city’s wonders, and explore the Pantheon - This magnificent building is considered the most well-preserved ancient temple in the world and the most amazing architectural structure of the ancient world. Michelangelo was so impressed with the Pantheon that when he saw it for the first time, he proclaimed it of "angelic and not of human design"
Via del Corso is a bustling main artery in Rome's historic center, known for its shops and lively atmosphere. It stretches from Piazza Venezia to Piazza del Popolo and is a popular spot for shopping and casual strolls.
Via Condotti is Rome's premier shopping street, located near the Spanish Steps. Known for its luxury boutiques and high-end brands, it is a hub for fashion and lifestyle, blending modern allure with classic Roman architecture
Everyone who comes to Rome must visit the Spanish Steps - the "5th Avenue" of Rome - where all the world's top designers have set up shop. Take in the magnificent view of Rome from the top of the steps, then stroll down Via Condotti, at the base of the Spanish steps, which is one of the most famous places to shop in the world. All while learning the Spanish Steps history.
The Barcaccia Fountain, nestled at the foot of the Spanish Steps in Rome, is a unique, boat-shaped structure attributed to Pietro Bernini and his son, Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Shaped like a sinking ship, this early Baroque fountain commemorates the tragic flooding of the Tiber River in 1598 and supplies passersby with fresh drinking water as it has since its creation in the 17th century.
The largest and most famous fountain in Italy (seen in Fellini's La Dolce Vita movie), ensuring that you will one day return to Rome. Learn the secrets that the fountain holds.

Katie was an incredible guide. Her knowledge of the city and the sites was beyond what we expected. Her personality was friendly an comforting. She made us feel like family. We will recommend her to our friends and would request her for our return trip.
Our guide, Azzurra, was super knowledgeable, pleasant and an amazing wealth of information related to all the city sights around Rome. She toured us through Piazzas, fountains, the Pantheon, Spanish Steps and so much more. At every step she revealed more interesting stories and history. Just what we were looking for, a delightful morning walk through Rome with a knowledgeable and friendly guide.
Cristiana was extremely knowledgeable and genuinely enjoyed giving us such a detailed tour of the city! Definitely recommend!
Katie was absolutely wonderful! Her textbook knowledge of Rome, combined with her warm and engaging personality, made our time with her truly special. She brought the history of Rome to life in a way that was fascinating, fun, and memorable. Our tour with Katie was truly one of the highlights of our summer!
Can’t praise the whole experience enough. Benjamin was excellent. Perfect English and answered our questions All done at a pace to suit us
Renata was an excellent guide. She spoke fluent English and was very easy to understand. We got to know her and she us as well. She was a professional and had the knowledge and understanding of history and communicated that to us plainly. She answered all our questions without difficulty and we did throw her some tough ones. Do not hesitate to take the tour with her. She even pointed out possible other historical sites we may be interested in. She had a very good pace for us. Knowing when to pause and discuss things in more detail and when it was appropriate to move on. Amazing how much we saw and learned from her as well.
Maria Linda was an excellent tour guide. She spoke English very clearly and presented a lot of information to us in a manner that was easy to understand.
Although we didn't visit Trevi Fountain, the tour was very well done! And the guide was outstanding!
Outstanding walk around Rome! Our guide, ALESSANDRO, was awesome! He grew up in Rome and knew all of the great spots and walking routes. He also helped us get some WONDERFUL pictures our last day in Rome. Graci!
Our guide Alec was excellent. He was extremely knowledge and friendly. He allowed us to choose certain paths but kept us on schedule.
Dormiana was a wonderful guide. We truly enjoyed learning more about Rome and the walking tour was perfect! The Pantheon was magnificent!
We toured the Colosseum with Katie a few days before this tour, so we were familiar with her and were looking forward to learning from her again. She met us promptly at our hotel to begin our early morning exploring. We loved the early morning start to avoid the heat of the day and the crowds! The walking tour did not disappoint! Katie is highly knowledgeable, and she taught us a lot of extra tidbits and history along the way as we went from attraction to attraction.
The Pantheon is an engineering marvel and having a local guide with true love for history made this a cannot miss tour. Plus he took photos at every stop without us asking which was a real plus.
Our guide Marle meet us at hotel and we took a taxi to the center of Rome where she walked and talked us through all the sights - had great views of so many places! We really enjoyed our time with her!
We had a wonderful walking tour with Rachele seeing the historic sights and learning the history of Rome. She was very informative and appreciated our questions
Ella, took us to some amazing spots, such as the Pantheon, Trevi fountain and many more. She took the time to answer any questions and had a great wealth of knowledge. I would recommend Ella to anyone looking for a private tour guide in Rome.
Beautiful tour, beautiful day in an amazing city of Rome. Our guide, Helena was wonderful and very knowledgeable of sites we visited. Great walking tour.
Raquel was a wonderful guide. She was right on time and was very knowledgeable . We learned a lot and enjoyed our time with her very much.8
Luigi was such a smart tour guide who knew so much about the city. Be sure to bring a water bottle and comfortable shoes as it’s a lot of walking but so worth it. Would highly recommend!
Our group of 6 just got back from Rome and had an amazing time! We did the "Rome - The City of Water Walking Tour" with Gianluca as our guide. He was very informative and took his time to answer all of our questions. This tour included many things off the beaten path and away from all of the typical tourist attractions. Would highly recommend!
Our tour guide Alessandro was fantastic! He really adjusted the tour according to what we were interested in. Truly enjoyed all his insightful information
We did a private Rome City Center walking tour with Rosie. She was exceptional! My travel companion had never been to Rome but I had been many times. Rosie was able to tailor the experience to interest us both, answering questions about history, art, architecture, current affairs, everything. Her English was excellent and she had visual aids to help us picture spaces through time. She was also warm, funny and personable. I’ve been on group and small group tours before but this was an entirely worth the price.
Azzura was our guide for our walking tour and she was the best! She was so friendly and knowledgeable. Our entire family had a great experience. She gave great recommendations for dinner near our hotel. We saw and learned so much more about Piazza Novona, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and too many to count sites in between than we would have on our own. We did several tours in Rome with various companies and this one was by far the BEST!!!! If I had to do it all over again, I would use Eyes of Rome for all of our tours. Highly recommend Eyes of Rome and Azurra!
Our guide, Sara Tomassini, was outstanding. We had conveyed our interests ahead of time, and she put together a fabulous walking tour of significant works of art in public places: Michelangelo’s Moses sculpture, a walk through and around the Imperial Fora, a visit to the Piazza del Campidoglio and to see the trompe l’œil work of Andrea Pozzo on the ceiling of the church of Sant’Ignazio, plus many stops in between. Sara is well-informed, entertaining, flexible; it was a joy to spend 1/2 day with her.
Our tour was absolutely incredible. My fiancé and I did a private walking tour with Marco — he was awesome so insightful, engaging, and informative. He’s an archeologist and professor to boot so we really felt like we were learning from an expert. He took us to all the major sites and places we didn’t expect to see which were great. I’ve been to Rome a few times but felt like I was seeing it through a new lens on this tour. It was an amazing day!
My family and I booked a 3 hour night walking tour of Rome with Gianluca, and it was fantastic! Gianluca was incredibly knowledgeable, attentive to detail and a great storyteller. His ability to answer all of our questions was unmatched and we felt that we had seen the city with ease. He also gave excellent recommendations on restaurants, shopping and additional sights to see after the tour had ended. Gianluca made good on his promises to email me after our trip with additional information on museums to visit in the future.
We had a great experience with Eyes of Rome and our guide Francesco. He was punctual, very knowledgeable, and made the tour fun for my teenage daughters. He also showed us some hidden gems and introduced us to locals he knows. I would definitely recommend and will use again!
Thanks, Denis - the walking tour of Rome was so informative - I learned so much about your amazing city!! Will definitely look you up next time I am back in beautiful Roma!
Booked a 3 hour private walking tour with eyes of Rome. Our guide Serena met up at our hotel. Serena was very well prepared and soon enough we were heading to Pantheon, in perfect time just before the mass we went inside the stunning Pantheon. Serena is very knowledgable and you can tell that she loves Rome and being a guide. After Pantheon we visited Piazza Nuevo, well worth a visit as well. A well deserved coffee after that and then off to St Angelo. Serena told us many interesting things that we would never know otherwise, then we walked to Trastevere and visited a local market and got some great tips for restaurants in the area. Time fly by and it was time to finish our tour. It was a great idea to book a private tour and Serena was a star, very knowledgeable, prepared and still very easy going and helpful with us avoiding some silly tourist mistakes. Eyes of Rome provides great guides and Serena is a true star. Highly recommended!
Toured Roman ruins, the Parthenon, the Trevi Fountain, The Spanish Steps, and more with Denis. He was extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to get a tour from. There’s so much history you really need a guide. Highly recommend!
Very informative, knowledgable and communicative guide, good English, self-contained tour with customisation options.
My boyfriend and I did 4 days of tours throughout Rome including the Evening City Walking tour, the coliseum and foro tour, the Vatican and Basilica tour, and the Angels and Demons tour. Marta was an amazing tour guide! Marta was very knowledgeable and shared so much information with us. Highly recommend!
We spend a long weekend visiting Rome (just after Corona shut-down, which by the way was outstanding with hardly any tourists where typically crowded). Had a 3hrs private walk booked with guide Rasalba Cilione, which was a just perfect. Our guide tailored the tour to our personal preferences, was very informative and a pleasant and entertaining company. Will repeat whenever we revisit Rome and recommend to all family and friends!
Our guide was Katie Farrar, whom we have used several times before. This time we had Katie do a private walking tour of Trastevere, the area where we were staying, and which we knew little about. Walking around our new “neighborhood “ with Katie was a revelation. She pointed out things we had barely noticed and gave us a fascinating insight into the history of the area, and its relationship with the rest of Rome across time. Wonderful!
Our forth trip to Rome became a trip to remember primarily due to our tour guide Stefania Pistone. Our gracious and knowledgeable host created a tour we will always cherish. Before our first walking tour was over my wife, son and I knew that Stefania was the guide for us. After our week together we were more then friends, we were family.
This was our first trip to Italy, we are both senior citizens and this tour was on our first day. Subsequently we took about ten more tours, but none stands out as compared to this one. We were extremely fortunate to have Stefania as our tour guide. She is knowledgeable, pleasant to deal with, caring, went out of her way to help us by answering all our questions, is patient (I took a lot of pictures and she did not rush us). We have no words how to show our appreciation to her. I think Eyes of Rome has a slogan something like "arrive as a tourist leave as a friend", with Stefania for us it was "arrive as a tourist, become friends and LEAVE AS A FAMILY MEMBER". Thanks for the tour.
We had a fabulous private tour with Alessandro who is a super knowledgeable and engaging Archaeologist. We had hundreds of questions and he answered all of them with great detail and precision, it was a true delight to have such a qualified expert take us on an insiders tour of Rome. We visited hidden sights where no tourists were to be seen and learned so much about history, architecture, and of course archeology, not to mention the best cafes and local culture. Also, Alessandro is a great photographer and genuinely enjoys taking photos! Everything was perfect.
We took this tour as the first of 6 days of touring with Eyes of Rome in Rome and the adjacent areas. I knew that we wanted to extend the time so we arranged this in advance. Our tour may differ from the standard tour because of this. This was our first time in Rome or Italy and we really didn’t know what to else to expect except that our tour guide, Katie, had been personally recommended to us by a friend who had toured with her previously. He explained that she was an Art History major who had gone to Rome on a Fulbright Fellowship and had never left. We were staying outside the city center and the portion of Rome we saw while coming in from the airport was pretty much like driving through any big city anywhere in the world. Katie chose to start the walking portion of the tour by entering the city center through the Porta del Popolo with the obelisk in the large piazza just behind. It was like a curtain lifting on a stage. Katie painted a word picture about how pilgrims from the northern parts of Europe would enter though this gate as they came south along the old Roman road, the Via Flaminia and then enter into the adjacent Basilica Santa Maria. Katie then showed us the art work in the church including the Caravaggio painting of the martyrdom of Peter. The rest of the tour continued on a similar level. The standard tour items of the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Piazza Navona were all covered with multiple stories to match. Katie also talked about many of the building and streets Katie made sure that we knew we could fill our water bottles up at any of the fountains or spouts in Rome except for the Trevi fountain. The water flows in on the ancient Roman aqueducts and is safe to drink (which was wonderful on a warm day). I took a Gelato/Sorbet break at Venchi (a separate review). Our tour ended some 4 hours later. I would have extended longer, but Katie had other prior commitments. She suggested that we have a late lunch at the Ditrambo (which was nearby) and then strolling through the Campo de Fiori. We did both, but didn’t arrive at the market until near closing time, Bottom line, while expensive, Katie and the Eyes of Rome exceeded our expectations in just about every way.
Our tour was perfect. Barbara De Rosa was our tour guide and it was incredible. She had so much knowledge and details around each area that it made the experience so much better. The stories were well-told and thorough. I would recommend this tour in a heartbeat and if you can please ask for Barbara!
We chose Eyes of Rome for two tours post cruise. This tour is a walking tour of the center of Rome. Our tour guide was Alessia. She was excellent. She met us on time at our hotel. As with our other Eyes of Rome tour guide the day before, Alessia wanted to show us the major sites but also tailor the tour as to our interests. She was very knowledgeable and very personable. The tour was at our pace with our comfort in mind. Having also done group tours, I would recommend a private tour, especially with knowledgeable and professional guides such as Eyes of Rome. It is definitely worth the price. We will definitely use Eyes of Rome and Alessia the next time we are in Rome.
We spent the evening with Azzurra walking through Rome and seeing both the 'normal' tourist hotspots and hidden gems that only a local would know. Azzurra is instantly likeable, is easy to talk to and has a wealth of knowledge. Azzurra is a great story teller and makes history come to life. While we had a wonderful 3 hours, the time flew by and we could have easily spent more time with Azzurra, enjoying all that Rome has to offer. A wonderful experience and I highly recommend Azzurra - you will not be disappointed. We look forward to visiting again in the not too distant future!
Had a great private city walking tour with Barbara De Rosa, our tour guide. Was in for a great surprise learning so much about the city's heritage and landmarks. While the walk was quite long, didn't realize it as much given a lot of nuanced explanations behind why and how some world famous structures were built. Thanks Barbara for making our stay a memorable one. Was totally worth it!
Had a fantastic morning and early afternoon with our guide Elisa. She picked us up from the hotel and made sure that we could fit in everything that we wanted to see. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, which made the Rome heat much more bearable. We were able to see everything we wanted and more within the 4 hours we set aside, including the main piazzas and other attractions. I would definitely recommend this tour and Elisa in particular for people of any age group. There's more than enough to see and to keep everyone occupied.
We ya style BEST day in Rome today!! Elisa was early to our hotel, took us on a three hour walking tour. Then took us to a great place for lunch!! Then, we went on a coliseum tour! She was so patient with us in the 100 degree heat. She always asked us what we wanted to do and accommodated everything to all of our needs. She gets extra pints for taking us for gelato in the middle of our tour!! Thank you Elisa for a great day, and thank you Rome for the memories!!
Pamela was a wonderful guide. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed learning the history of the City. We have been to Rome a few times, but not until we experienced it with Pamela did we really truly appreciate the squares and monuments. There is so much to learn.
My family had the pleasure of spending five hours with Gianluca Pica on the Ancient Rome and Walking Tour. Gianluca is an extremely knowledgeable and friendly story teller who provided invaluable insights into many of Rome's greatest historical treasures. We had a private tour that started at the hotel and included The Colosseum, Roman Forum, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and countless more sights. He also directed us to a wonderful place where we shared some local lasagna. We had a trip of a life-time and would highly recommend Gianluca and his company for a very special experience.
My sister and I had a thoroughly enjoyable experience with Francesco! He was entertaining and very knowledgeable and really made our visit to Rome special! I would definitely book again..best decision we made.
Francesco was one of the best guides I have ever experienced. Not only extremely knowledgeable about the history of Rome but easily could make references to history and religious influences with other countries. His personality is fun and so accommodating to meet the needs of his clients. My sister and I feel like we won the lottery with Francesco! Can’t thank him enough for such a fantastic day!
There is a reason this group is number 1, and it is deserved. We decided to head for Rome after Christmas and started planning at the last minute. We were literally making changes while in the air and the staff, Betrice in particular, stayed in touch and took care of the details to perfection. After landing and checking into our hotel, we meet with Elisa who would be our guide on two of our adventures. The first being a get to know our area with a walking tour. Elisa was fabulous at both getting to know us and then showing us around Rome and, in particular, making suggestions on where to eat, get coffee, and all the home touches one would love to know the first day. We also got to see many of the highlights in central Rome and really got a feeling for where we were based. This was a perfect introduction to how great the guides and itineraries that Eyes of Rome offer. Thanks for making this trip so special for our family
