Rome: Guided Small Group Walking Tour Of City Highlights

The meeting point was very easy to find. We happen to be on the tour October 31 and there was some entrances closed and we weren’t able to see or hear about certain tour items. Our tour guide was hard to understand. We were disappointed for the price we paid.

My friend and I did this walking tour our first night in Rome. Dan, our guide, was very engaging, helpful and knowledgeable. We had a great first impression of Rome and got several ideas about how to return to sites we visited. Excellent!

Sharon was our tour guide to Pantheon , Navona and Trevi Fountain. Sharon was very knowledgeable and accommodating for our group. She gave us a guided tour with lots of interesting history and nuances we may not have experienced with other tour to guides. We were able to navigate the back streets and alleys seamlessly while minimizing crowds where possible.

Perfect first day introduction to the beautiful city of Rome. Our tour guide Anna was knowledgeable, personable and fun to spend a few hours with as we walked around the historic city center. I highly recommend the small group tour as they were so many times we weaved in and out of giant crowds with groups of 40 people with one tour guide holding a flag or umbrella, trying to keep their audio earbuds in while we they attempted to see over the masses of other people in their group. Anna gave us some great recommendations for places to go and see, and was quite knowledgeable about food and directed us to the best gelato shop ever!

The guide was fantastic, and the tour itself was great for giving some history as well as helping understand the ways to move through the city without issue.

A solid walking tour of Rome - note that you only spend 5-10 mins per stop so think of it more as an introduction to the city rather than an in-depth tour.

Is just walking points that you can do on your own. If you do a bit of research you could save your money.

Tour was very entertaining and informative. We walked around the main highlights of the city. Joseph was very charismatic and gave us very great and fun facts about the city. Get comfortable shoes, because you do a great of walking. Totally worth it!

There is quite a bit of walking so plan the rest of your day accordingly. Pamela was our guide. She was vibrant, knowledgeable, and fun. I highly recommend requesting Pamela as your guide!

Our meeting place was a Piazza, and it wasn't clear where in the Piazza we were to meet. I kept scanning for the yellow card or flag. When we finally found our guide, after calling and being told to look under the pine trees, she was holding the small Carpe Diem sign down by her knees. As other families joined, they also said they didn't know where to look. The tour itself was disappointing, too. Fernanda was very sweet, but gave almost no information about what we were seeing. I will have to look up the history and explanations online. I had to ask for any basic information. Just passing another tour guide at the Trevi fountain, I could hear he was giving an explanation that sounded interesting. Fernanda, when asked said sometime vague about the two horses representing the ocean as serene and stormy. The other guide was talking about Greek or Roman gods... There's more there that I now have to look up. It was also disappointing not to have been able to get close to the Trevi Fountain or to go in to the Pantheon. It would have been better if the description had said those things wouldn't be included.

We booked Rome Highlights Walking Tour for our first day in Rome. Dan the guide was superb. We absolutely enjoyed the hidden gems and the route despite the heat wave Rome was experiencing that day. I wish I had Dan's contact info as I think he would be and excellent tour guide in Rome in general. Wonderful experience, would highly recommend. I know this will sound controversial to some but our family learned more and enjoyed this tour more than the half day we spent at the Vatican!

Good tour for the price. We like the organized tours but probably could easily do it on your own. Was a little disappointed it didn’t include Spanish steps. Guide was good.

The tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. They were a native English speaker and easy to understand. We saw a lot of the major attraction in Rome in an efficient time frame, with plenty of time to check trevi fountain, grab gelato, and take a bathroom break. I would do this tour again! She stopped us in shady locations but didn't keep us standing for long periods.

Too much detail about things most people don't care about, but interesting tour including Trevi Fountain.

Sila was our guide. She was informative and knowledgeable about Rome and delivered the information in a fun and at times humorous way. Only constructive feedback is to provide headsets so everyone could hear as they may have fallen behind a bit to the gathering place.

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and I loved the background info and she had pictures to help explain the history. I learned things I would have not known without taking the tour. I would highly recommend tours with Carpe Diem.
