This operator canceled our tour 3 weeks before our trip leaving us without a tour. We scheduled per their schedule months in advance. Last week I received a text asking if we could change our date to either the day before our actual trip or to the day we board our cruise. Then this morning I received a text telling me our tour is canceled and a refund will be made. My belief is that a better offer came in from a group and us who booked individually get tossed aside. I would not use this company and I for sure will not recommend them to anyone!

Reviews
My whole family absolutely loved the Colosseum experience. We booked with trip in art. They offered us a complementary upgrade to the attic, providing us with a personalized tour of what may be the only quiet part of the Colosseum. Our tour guide was interesting, engaging and friendly. I would highly recommend! Fabulous memorable and educational experience. Remember, even children need a copy of their passports to enter the Colosseum!
We had a fantastic morning with Diana as our guide. She was lovey and her knowledge of the coliseum was incredible. The kids were totally engaged and are still taking about everyone they learnt. Thank you so much for a great tour. We didn’t want it to stop!
It was an easy, seemless process as long as you have ID. Our time was changed to a later time with an upgrade. Thankfully we were able to accommodate the new time. The tour guides were friendly, helpful and entertaining.
Charged for kids as adult fare and no answer from the complaint when asking why. There is no way to contact them that is direct. Tour time was changed once and cancelled the second time. Wonderful person from the company gave us time that was not perfect but ok for us and I believe that we were lucky to get in contact with that person. Very grateful. Changing time, then canceling tour and on top - charging us more was not fair or good.
Wear comfortable shoes. Small group, intimate tour. Paola was very engaging and easy to interact with, her Enlglish was perfect. Highly recommend this tour.
Our tour guide was friendly and gave us a great tour.
Tedros brought energy without rush. He joked with kids, comforted elders, and made everyone feel part of history. When he spoke of the arena’s opening ceremonies, his voice echoed perfectly in the stone corridors. Standing there, you felt connected across time. The Forum walk tied politics, myths, and daily life into one picture. Brilliant guiding.
A small group, clear sound, no filler. The Colosseum becomes a living classroom. Two hours of pure fascination.
The guide never rushed, never overtalked. Just clear stories and stunning views. Exactly what a tour should be.
We almost skipped it after reading about long lines elsewhere, but this group was smooth and personal. Tedros kept our small circle moving easily, finding shade and sharing quiet anecdotes about the crowds, the tickets, the emotions. At the Forum, birds replaced the noise of ancient applause. Two hours vanished. The best decision of our Rome trip.
The arena access changes everything—you stand where legends stood. A must if you love history that feels alive.
Alma greeted everyone like an old friend. Her gentle humor made heavy history easy to digest. Standing on the arena floor, the stones seemed to hum with echoes. She pointed toward arches where emperors once entered, and suddenly the centuries between us vanished. On Palatine Hill, she shared myths of Rome’s founding—told softly, like bedtime stories. It’s rare to learn so much and still feel relaxed. Beautifully done.
This was a fabulous tour of the underground/ arena and we would do this tour again! Be flexible and allow enough time to meet your representative and gather your tickets before your official tour time. It can be frustrating to go through a third party for tickets, but it was fairly smooth and the tour (by an official Colosseum employee!!) was amazing. The tour of the Forum (from this company) did a great job and paced the Forum tour well.
You see the arena from the gladiator’s view. Two hours later, you leave humbled, not just impressed. Totally Worth this arena tour
Eni made the Colosseum more than stone; he made it human. He spoke of architects and slaves, of applause and fear, giving both grandeur and empathy equal space. The Forum that followed tied everything together—the politics behind the spectacle. The pacing was ideal, never rushed, never slow. I left understanding not just what Rome built, but why.
We booked the Colosseum tour with Trip in Italy and it was one of the absolute highlights of our time in Rome. Our guide, Teddy, was outstanding from start to finish. He had that rare ability to bring ancient history to life — not just the big headlines, but the human stories, little details, and anecdotes that made us feel like we were stepping back 2,000 years into the world of emperors, gladiators and roaring crowds. Teddy was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about his subject. He answered every question with warmth and insight, and had a brilliant way of making the tour fun and accessible for everyone, regardless of how much you knew beforehand. The tour was well organised, the pace was perfect, and we left with a completely new appreciation of the Colosseum and Ancient Rome. I would highly recommend Trip in Italy and especially Teddy to anyone visiting Rome — it will make your experience unforgettable.
Very well organized. Short walk, lots of insights. Loved how Alma told stories that made everything feel real. Recommend this tour
Fast entry, great guide, no stress. Eni was friendly and funny. The arena floor blew my mind! 10/10 Recommended. Loved it
We joined this tour as a couple and it was truly a magical way to experience the Colosseum. Walking directly onto the arena floor felt like stepping back in time – and having that privileged view, looking up at the ancient stands, gave us goosebumps. Our guide Tedros had a passion for Roman history that was contagious, painting vivid images of how life was 2,000 years ago. After the Colosseum, we strolled together through the Forum and Palatine Hill at our own pace, enjoying the golden light of the afternoon. It was both romantic and inspiring – standing among ruins where emperors once walked, then watching the sun set over Rome. Perfect for couples who want history mixed with atmosphere.
Family of 4 (September) We booked this tour with our two kids (4 and 10) and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Rome. Entering the Colosseum through the Gladiator’s Gate and standing on the arena floor was simply unforgettable – the children were fascinated by the stories of gladiators and ancient Rome. Our guide Eni was knowledgeable and engaging, always mixing history with anecdotes that kept everyone’s attention. The headphones worked well even in the crowd, and the pace was comfortable for both adults and kids. After the guided part inside the Colosseum, we had tickets to explore the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill on our own. It was the perfect balance: first the storytelling with Eni , then the freedom to wander among the ruins. Tip for families: wear comfortable shoes, bring water, and prepare your kids with a little background on gladiators – they’ll love it even more. Overall: highly recommended, worth every euro.
The tour was well organised. The guide (Andy) arrived on time. He used the waiting time at the entrance to give a historical background of the Colosseum. He helped us use our Roma Passes instead of having to purchase entrance tickets. Andy was really engaging - his explanations were clear and he often added humorous touches. Would definitely recommend Trip in Art
I went back to accompany my friends visiting Rome. Already the exterior bewitches you with its grandiose and special architecture. An authentic masterpiece that maintains its charm over the centuries. The Colosseum is a wonder of the world and the value of this place is destined to be eternal. The largest Amphitheatre in the world is the true symbol of Rome. Absolutely to visit!
It is the second time that I have come to Rome and it is by far the best experience I have ever had. The first time I traveled alone without tour and the trip was good, but this second time with this agency it was fantastic. I went around the Colosseum with the guide Andy, he was really good and friendly. He told us the whole story and also gave us good advice on excellent restaurants in Rome. I didn't care much about the tours in my travels, but this tour made me change my mind.
To visit Colosseum is always exciting.a simbol of history and humanity. We enjoy every mt of it and for sure we recommend it to everyone ho visit rome
Really the best tour i have ever had.Our tour guide was very smart and with lot of humor wich made me to enjoy the tour even more

We felt really pleased by this tour and enjoy it very much. We learned lots from this experience by our tour guide for the history of Colosseum. We strongly recommended it.
It was really a beautiful tour and we remain very satisfied by everything...the tour guide was very helpful and a serious agency. We r it to everyone
How many times have I passed the Colosseum (living in Rome), but I had never entered it. With the guys at Trip in Art it was really nice. Thank you for your experience!
We are a group of 4 friends and we did the “Gladiators Arena Premium Access – Colosseum + Forum + Palatine Hill” tour with Trip in Art in September. I must say it was an amazing experience! Entering the Gladiator Arena was exciting: walking on the floor where gladiators once fought made us feel part of history. The guide Noemi was fantastic: passionate, prepared and nice, she managed to involve everyone, from the most curious to friends a little distracted 😄. After the guided part, we had time to explore the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill on our own. It was perfect: we enjoyed the views, took memorable photos and could turn at our own pace, laughing and discovering hidden corners.
