Rome: Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill With Audio Guide App

Very good and clear instructions .

It was a self guided tour. The companion app didnt work most of the time. It didnt pick up the markers for audio guidance. The person arranging the tickets was nice and made sure I had everything I need to get on the tour.

Difficult and complicated. This tour operator is not your typical company where you purchase the tour, show up and there is someone there with a sign waiting to issue your tickets. I purchased the tour on Viator, paid for it and received instructions to meet a man in front of a restaurant near the Coliseum. Once I located the man, I had to do a series of downloads, then he purchased the "actual" tickets using his company credit card. I was very nervous, not understanding what I had actually purchased through Viator. His english was poor so he could not explain what exactly the process was. I would not book through this vendor again,

We already had the electronic ticketings but was told to go to the redemption location. Very confusing and a waste of 1/2 hour until sorted out. Plus, entrance to go in wasn’t easily marked so we needed to search. In addition the ticket prices went up in price quickly which wasn’t nice for a repeat costumer.

I was absolutely sure this was a scam. But it worked. It was the only way we could get into the Colosseum on our timetable on short notice. Look, the audio app is not great. I think it’s rated 1 1/2 stars out of 5. But we got in!

The only positive of this tour is that we were able to buy it on short notice (the day before) when all other tours were sold out. The initial confirmation of our purchase indicated TWO different addresses where we needed to meet the operator to exchange vouchers for our actual tickets, and then the operator gave me a THIRD location (Cafe Roma) when I happened to message them the evening before for clarification. In person transfer of tickets/passes to our phones, or at the very least being told to download the TWO required apps in advance, could have been done electronically in advance, avoiding the need to find the resellers at the top of the stairs near Cafe Roma. The operator did not initially give us a link to the audio tour app, so we had to make yet another trip up the stairs to find them at Cafe Roma. The app that they provided was very poor with only 6 stops, confusing navigation to those stops, and short and only minimally informative narrative at each stop. We gave up on that app and instead purchased the VoiceMap audio tour which was much better with about 2 dozen stops, excellent navigation, and very informative and interesting narration.

Super weird experience. You’re basically paying a ticket reseller extra $$ if you weren’t able to book entry online in advance. We had to download a Roma Pass app and enter the ticket reseller’s credit card info. They also had us meet them over an hour before our entry time, so we were just hanging around in one of the busiest parts of town for a lot longer than necessary. It was bizarre. But at least we got in.

We had a great experience! The tickets were provided on time, and the whole trip was really informative and enjoyable. We learned so many new things and discovered details we wouldn’t have known otherwise. And it was definitely worth it. Highly recommended!

An astonishing swindle. Makes you seem like you're getting tickets and even has ticks next to the most important questions such as access to the main sites. Then you pay and someone tells you that alas, no tickets. Just an audio guide.

Due to lack of communication and changes, I had to take the tour alone with my family, I do not recommend anyone to hire this resource for knowledge, it is better to look for another company, zero stars 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

We ended up not using the audio guide, but the tour was very worthwhile. It was more expensive than the official website, but since it was sold out, we ended up opting for this one. No problems receiving the ticket and entering the coliseum.

That's great! The Colosseum is breathtaking, and the Palatine Hill is the best place to overlook the Roman Forum. Audio guide applications make the journey much more exciting than just walking around. Tip: Download the app before you leave, and bring headphones and water. Highly recommended!
