We learned soooo much about Italy and Castel Sant’Angelo. Agnes is absolutely amazing, every moment was fascinating. She brings so much energy, passion and knowledge to the tour.

Great thing to do towards the end of the day ...the views at the top were spectacular...sun was setting. Great photos. We only had 5 in our group so we didn't need the headset and the guide was never raising her flag...she just walked and talked to us and answered so many questions.
The guide was very informative and knowledgeable. She kept the tour interesting and engaging. The pace was easy.
This was supposed to be a tour I believe of no more than eight ended up being just me and my wife. The guide was really good and passionate about architecture and art and history. Very knowledgeable learned a lot about the history and how the castle was changed iand used at different times
Good informative small tour with all the dark history of the Castel San Angelo. Our guide was an archaeologist therefore she provided us with good information.
We took the 1 hour tour with Alec. That seemed perfect in length and Alec was very interesting and engaging. Highly recommend him. The history of the structure is impressive from ground to top level as a burial chamber, fortress, chapel and Pope's living quarters.
Agnes provided an excellent overview of the mausoleum/castle/fortress. I really appreciated all the information about how the mausoleum looked and the details of the structure’s transitions. The pace was great and we had plenty of time for pictures and questions too. Highly recommend.
The tour guide was 40 minutes late and blamed it on lack of parking in the area. We all believed she either forgot or slept in. No real apology and she seemed frazzled when she arrived. Also she had trouble understanding some of the questions asked of her during the tour.
It is a tour that should be on everyone's list when visiting Rome! Great history, beautiful views of the city, and wonderful art. Our guide, Agnes, was very thorough with the history of the structure, had wonderful stories of the ancient use of the structure and was just an all-around great guide in answering questions and explaining the history. Highly recom mend!
It was a great tour. I highly recommend Alec as a guide. Really informative, without Alec would have just been wandering around not learning anything
Guide was very informative and great humor and animation made the tour very interesting.
The audio tour was interesting but hard to follow as the route inside the building had clearly changed since the audio was created. So it was a bit of a scavenger hunt to put all the audio stops together.
Definitely worth taking the tour. So much history at this site and our tour guide was very informative.
Outdoor tour, hot in summer weather. Some stairs and climbing involved. Interesting history as a prison of the Castel provided.
It was a really interesting tour, thank you to Silvia for all her informations. The castle is beautiful and I learnt a lot 😊
This was a disaster- the 2 hour tour was supposed to start at 4:45, but the tour guide refused to start the tour, even though we asked her several times. She said she was waiting for more guests, and that it was "no problem". At 5:30, when she still refused to take us into the site, we ended up buying our own tickets and going into the venue ourselves, as it closed at 7 , and we wanted to have time to see it. We will be seeking a full refund. My advice- stay away from Loving Rome. They were totally unprofessional
The guide was easy to find with his sign and the tour started on time. Alex, our guide, was knowledgeable and interactive with the guests. The castle was worth seeing and I learned more on this guided tour than I would have on my own.
This was a really enjoyable, extremely informative tour through a structure that holds an incredible amount of history. Our guide Alec was very knowledgeable as well as very entertaining! This was a great way to take in a lot of information in a relatively short amount of time!
If I could give a zero rating I would. We received several emails confirming our tour in Rome, two days prior to the tour date, we received an email with a link to the tickets. The day of our tour we arrived to the meeting spot as directed in the email. The tour guide never showed up. I called the phone number in.the emails and the guide told me he couldn’t make it and had sent me an email canceling the tour. I never received a cancellation email, I checked my spam and double checked my emails. I was furious because we were only spending the day in Rome and wasted several hours of our valuable time waiting for this tour only to be stood up. I was charged for the tour and had to go through the process of getting a refund which I must say I received a credit very quickly.
Our guide, Alec was really knowledgeable and great fun! Great views of Rome from the terrace for anyone wanting to take photos.
We didn’t get to take this tour because they were unidentified outside of the castle. Then when I called they didn’t answer and said we were late when we arrived before the tour was suppose to start but couldn’t find them. Don’t recommend at all.
Good place to walkthrough, had a good time. However the tour changed our time last minute and had to cancel. So they gave us the tickets and we had to see the site ourselves
We arrived 30 min early. But when it was time to meet our tour guide they never arrived we waited 15 minutes after our departure time and still no tour guide. No contact be e-mail or text so we didn’t get to experience the Castle sant Angelo. I texted the company to get a refund and have not heard back or received a refund.
Wonderful tour of Castello! Very knowledgeable and friendly guide! Learned a lot about the place from its founding to present time.
Excellent tour highlighting an historically relevant site, offering a glimpse to both Ancient Rome and Medieval Rome. While perhaps note on the top of most itineraries, this was a very fascinating tour, and a must stop considering its proximity to the Vatican. Plus you get an excellent opportunity for pictures of Rome and the Vatican. Our guide, Alec, was fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable and very entertaining!
Alex was extremely knowledgeable and very personable, we learned a lot.. Alex was a great guide about the facility
Valeria was knowledgeable and interesting. We were a small group so no headsets were needed. Able to see entire interior of castle. Many steps, in case that is an issue. Great views of Vatican from multiple levels.
There is space for improvement to be honesto. If you are doing a tour with American clients you have to have an Inglish speaking tour guy, there is a disconnect on the lenguaje and the jokes. Nice guy nothing wrong with him.
We had a fantastic experience on the Castel Sant’Angelo tour in Rome! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made the history come alive. The tour was engaging and well-paced, and we learned so much about this iconic landmark. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rome!
Our tour guide gave us so much information- definitely more than we could have gotten by going through without a guide. He seemed to be a very genuine and honest person when he explained the information he passes on to us and why he guides tours. We had children with us and the tour was child friendly as was our guide.
Our guide was lot of fun and was very knowledgeable about the history and she also told lot of interesting anecdotes. We enjoyed this tour a lot!
A few days before the event the operator asked me if I could change the time and date. Neither worked for my schedule. The operator set me up with an audioguide tour, which was OK. Still waiting on the refund. A guided tour would have been much better.
Donatella was incredibly passionate about the history of the building and gave us an amazing experience. It was great that she didn’t hold back from any negatives so giving us the full rounded view of the Castel. It is an impressive place and would recommend getting a guide of her standard to give you all the extras that a simple audio guide could never provide. Bravissima Donatella
Our tour guide (Alex) really made the experience top notch. He was funny, energetic and knew his history. He kept everyone engaged and involved throughout the tour
Unfortunately our tour guide was completely unaware of how to keep a group/tour together. Not once did she look or try to look around to see if the group was together. She was basically a tour guide solely for the few that were able to be right next to her. We lost her 3 times and on our own found her until the last time we completely lost the group and we left the tour not on purpose but bc she was extremely hard to understand and we had no idea when the group was leaving a large area and lost the tour. She was running through the Castel and we couldn’t even see what she was talking about and she would run to the next spot. After spending $300 for a 2 hour tour and only got 49 mins, we were not happy. Unsure how she doesn’t have pages of complaints as a guide.
Communication prior to the tour was excellent and clear. The meeting point was easy to find, but the greeter did not show up. Fortunately we found others in our small group so we knew we were in the right spot. Our tour guide was a little late and had to handle the logistics (something she didn’t normally have to do). Once the tour started, we found the guide engaging, knowledgeable, and a great communicator. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour despite the hiccup at the start.
This was a great tour. Alec was both knowledgeable and humorous. He made the tour interesting and even kept my daughter focused on what he was saying.
Calm, peaceful, educational, and wonderful tour. Our guide took beautiful pictures for us at the top of the castle. She was great.
Highly recommend. Good way to see the nuts and bolts of the underground coliseum. Gives a look into history.!
Loved our tour of Castel Sant’Angelo! Our tour guide was incredible, provided details and insights that enhanced the tour. Amazing views from the top of the Castel!
It was a very good tour, educating and funny, thanks to the tour guide who took a time to provide us with more detailed info than usual.
There is a huge amount of information to take in & our tour guide was most informative. Loved & enjoyed this tour greatly.
Disorganized tour by Loving Rome. The times kept changing and we just rolled with it. The location of the meetup wasn’t clear at all. I called the agency and they gave me a different meet up spot than the guide was at. The guide didn’t have a flag so it was hard to find him. Our tour was delayed because someone had to deliver the listening pieces so a few members of the tour had to leave midway so they don’t miss dinner reservations.
Great views. Learn history of fact that Pope and Catholicism was and is challenged. Tour ties in pre Roman history and connection to Papacy. Good perspective Tiber River
Agnes was amazing!! Great storyteller!! Loved every minute of it! The views of Rome were amazing from the top!
Carissa was a wonderful guide — incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. What a terrific experience. We’d recommend it and her in a heartbeat.
Outstanding tour of Castle Sant’Angleo. Much better than we expected, we had a fantastic time with tour guide “Alex Baldwin” . History was interesting, views were bellissimo.
This was supposed to be a 2 hour tour. The guide left us after 1 hour and told us to walk around on our own. He was very repetitive saying the same thing over & over again. The place is well marked with a lot of signage in English. Much better to purchase tickets & go on your own. It is worth seeing the Castle and the view from the top is spectacular
Our guide Alec was knowledgeable with sense of humour. We didn’t see the 2 hours passing..Definitely recommended.
Brilliant tour , we had Alex ? ...really intelligent , funny , informative and engaging . My son is a history buff and we both loved this our . Would definitely book a tour with this company again
