An excellent experience overall. The guide showed an in-depth knowledge of Italian wine, and explained the pairing process thoroughly. The setting was unique, and really added to the experience. While a bit pricey, we left feeling it was very much worth it!
The cave dinner was very disappointing. First part was in cave for wine and appetizer. Which was excellent. Then they made us go upstairs to restaurant for remainder of meal and dessert with all the other patrons. Good was disappointing and we thought the whole thing was in cave. Very disappointing. Ben the girl who gave your was very sweet and knowledgeable. Buy we should not have to go upstairs to restaurant. We should have been able to stay downstairs.
Very cool experience. History of the cave was interesting…something we never would have known or been able to access on our own. The service and food was exceptional. Our guide was just as excellent- helpful, engaging, informative and fun to just hang with during the experience. I definitely recommend and would do again while visiting Rome.
Direction to get there were perfect, i used Google Maps and the address listed in the email and we found the place easy and our guide was waiting in the exact spot marked on the map. Price was great for the experience and the quality, the tour lasted a little over 2 hours. The cellar looked really cool it had lots of candles all over the place (not real bringing candles but electric) and the space was cool to be in, however it was soooo hot and damp that 2 hours felt a little too long to be down there. The entire group was only 6 people and that was great because we all got a change to talk to one another and meet some new people. Ellie was a fabulous host who we were soo impressed with she was a very wonderful person and so easy to talk to. This tour would be best for people who want to be social and meet new people, couples or groups of friends will find this to be very fun.
Loved this tour. Great experience. Lisa was very knowledgable. From meeting us at the point she was friendly and warm. The food - so much. Prosecco and charcuterie in the cave was special. Then the pasta and tiramisu upstairs in the summer breeze that had cooled off the days heat was perfect. Thank you Lisa. Lee will be back and next time we are going to do one of the cooking tours. Chin chin. X
Claire was fantastic! Her knowledge is only exceeded by her lovely personality. We enjoyed a wonderful evening and would absolutely recommend this dinner!
Alex and Dennis provided above and beyond service. The food was delicious would recommend to anyone
Lisa was amazing! Friendly. Personable. Informative. Great evening!!!!.
Wonderful dinner with lily, very knowledgeable about history and great candlelight environment with ancient Roman baths. Delicious food and wine parings—highly recommend!
It was amazing, best meal in Italy I’ve had so far great tour and amazing place.
Eleanor was great. I booked this dinner as a surprise for my boyfriend who is a big history buff, but as a foodie, I also enjoyed myself. Eleanor balanced history with facts about culture and cuisine. The ambiance was great with candles and the historic Agrippa bath house walls. Definitely would recommend if you want a quiet dinner away from the busy streets of Rome.
Eleanor was an excellent guide! She was very knowledgeable and personable. Great personality! We learned a lot about the specialty pastas of Rome. The food was great and perfectly matched with the wine.
What a way to spend time in Rome --- eating wonderful food, drinking great wine, and learning about your food, wine and surroundings from an expert. We met our guide who gave us the history of the neighborhood, explaining how some part's of the building were ruins from centuries ago, and how Rome has adapted the ancient and modern in the same place! We entered what seemed like your basic trattoria, then were shown to the lower level, where stone and brick walls-- some from the ancient budlings that stood here before--and and dozens of candles set the stage for our meal. Each course was paired with an Italian wine, which was described by the restaurants sommelier. All courses were great, but the pasta course, the traditional Roman Cace e' Pepe was the stand out to me. If I could offer any hint, it is to bring a sweater or wrap -- the cellar was cool as could be, even on a hot day.
I was looking for something a little different while we were in Rome and this popped up on social media. Not only did we have a delicious dinner, with food I may not have ordered on my own, but it came with a beautiful unique and historic atmosphere plus information about Agrippa himself. It was truly an unforgettable experience and I highly recommend it!!!
This was one of our favorite tours! Lilly is amazing. She was knowledgeable, fun and so personable. The food and wine was wonderful. A taste of authentic Roman cuisine with a side of history and fun conversation. Enjoyable way to spend an evening in Rome.
Hands down the best dinner experience in Rome. Our guide / Host was very informative, and also very intrigued by our way of American living. Would highly recommend this dinner .
We had Livia during our candlelight dinner in the underground baths at Osteria Pizzeria Di Agrippa. Lilly was great who made us feel welcome, and added a lot of knowledge and history about the Roman food while we were being served. Just because of her, we would come back in the future for sure. :)
Livia was a delight sharing interesting stories about history, architecture and food. She even provided suggestions for other destinations on our trip.
It was a very different and lovely experience for us. We met Camilla and she gave us an interesting history of the town and how the owners discovered the cave and how it was excavated. We had delicious appetizers and prosecco in the cave while chatting with Camilla. Then when we were ready, we went upstairs to the restaurant for a pasta dinner and tiramisu for dessert! Camilla even called a taxi for us to return to Rome. She is a lovely person.
Amazing wine tasting! The guide was nice and informative! We learned a lot about wine: drinking Prosecco in combination with salami and cheeses is simply perfect! We also enjoyed red wine while eating gnocchi and (last but not least) we ended the tasting with the perfect Italian dessert: tiramisù! I really recommend this experience for all those who want to discover a district far from the crowd of the city center. Pigneto is a vibrant quarter of Rome and we discovered it’s a place where lot of romans go to enjoy the nightlife during weekends. The cellar is inside a roman cave used as shelter during the 2WW. It was an unforgettable experience!
