Don’t eat before the tour — you will get SO much food. Karina was friendly, informative, gave us a sense of what it’s like to live in Rome. I feel more confident about what to order, what to look for.

Small group (~14) led by Domenica from Carpe Diem. Five stops at well established Teastevere restaurants/cafes that included: (1) wine, cheese, and proschetto, (2) arancini, (3) three types of pizza with plenty of beer, (4) a sit down dinner consisting of bruschetta, pasta with tomato sauce, and plenty of wine, and (5) gelato. Dominica was very knowledgeable and the group bonded quickly. Like sharing a progressive meal with friends. We will remember the experience as a highlight of this trip.

If you’re doing a food tour in Rome, this is the one to book. Our guide Maham was absolute perfection—brilliant knowledge of Trastevere/Roman culture and history, paired with a lively personality and a great sense of humor. Wandering through Trastevere with her felt like exploring the neighborhood with an insider friend! We ended up being a group of only the 4 of us in our little group. She was fun and charismatic. My husband and I have traveled a bit and have enjoyed many guided tours. This by far was our favorite.

We just spent 15 days in Italy and booked a food tour in Rome and one in Venice. The difference was night and day. Our tour guide in Rome was on her own a an agenda and did not have much of a background to run a tour. She was young and from Argentina . Our guide in Venice (Elizabeth) was amazing.

When in Rome, a visit to Trastevere is a must. Our guide took us to some amazing food stops with skip the line seating and the history behind these Roman dishes.
