Such an amazing experience. Emanuel was our guide. He was great! We saw the catacombs, ruins, and the aqueducts. Riding on an e-bike makes it so much easier.

Do not go if you are under 4’11”. The bikes do not fit short people and the smaller bike they gave me was not a good quality. I fell 4 times and bruised a rib as well as cut open my knee. The city traffic part of the ride was not even possible for me as I had to walk much of it. My interest was in stopping to take pictures but the rough road forced me to pay more attention to the road surface and trying not to fall. Cars, foot traffic and so many other bikes made the going very difficult. A taller person on one of the good bikes would probably enjoy it more.
great way to see these sites. enjoyed tour of the catacombs, the appian way, and the aqueducts. not the usual tour!
The BEST! From start to finish it was more than we anticipated. We were able to see things most tourists can not! Riding through the city was exhilarating and the outskirts beautiful!! We CAN NOT wait to bring our kiddos back!!
Riccardo did a great job as our tour guide! He knew the answer to every question we had and educated us well on the Appia road, catacombs, aqueducts, and even bits about the coliseum and circus Maximus even though they weren’t part of the tour. He’s a cool guy with a fun sense of humor. Thanks again Riccardo! Would recommend to anyone.
Best day of our vacation. Kids loved the e-bikes and the guide Alessio was friendly and very knowledgeable.
This was a really fun experience. Riccardo was very helpful and shared a lot of information. I would recommend highly.
We had a wonderful e-bike tour with Riccardo today. He was friendly, a wealth of knowledge and very helpful. We loved the sites we saw and how Riccardo made sure our bikes were just right for us. He was awesome!!!! And we loved our tour!!!!
This tour was excellent, start to finish. Guide Riccardo was fantastic, knowledgable and thoughtful, stopping periodically at points of interest with stories of Roman history, especially the aqueduct and the Appian Way. The pace was friendly and relaxing, with good instructions for navigating a bump here and there. The catacombs tour was fascinating and worthwhile. Overall highly recommend this tour and this guide as a change of pace and a view of Rome outside the city!
Great tour - our guide Riccardo was excellent. Knowledgable considerate and friendly. Would recommend to others.
Ricardo was the guide for our tour today. What a fantastic experience! From beginning to end, we received a great service from him - he was knowledgeable, good humoured and very personable. Me, my husband and my kids (aged 17 and 14) were enthralled by the historical stories we heard along the way. The views through the Aqeduct Park were beautiful, interspersed with some time spent riding through more suburban areas. We felt we got a nice look at bits of Rome that we would otherwise wouldn't have seen. We would definitely do it again.
Our bike tour with Alessio (Alex). Was probably our favorite experience of our trip. Traveled with family and our young kids. He was very knowledgeable, considerate with young kids, and all around genuine person. The catacombs were wonderful to see, and the bike tour was great to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. 10/10 would recommend this tour with Alessio!
My favorite experience so far in Rome! A unique way to experience ruins and catacombes. Our tour guide Alex was very knowledgeable and patient with our family that has little ones with us. Would go again and recommend to anyone!
One of the best off the beaten path tours I've done. The weather was beautiful and the sites were even better. Alessio our guide was fantastic, informative and charismatic. It was not hard, I highly recommend.
Alessio was a great guide! He is super knowledgeable and shared fun stories about the history of the world’s first highway. We also explored aqueduct park. And got some great sunset pics. Awesome experience to see another part of Rome.
Superb experience with our great guide Alessio. Amazing views, history, and a lot of fun. 10/10!
Alessio provided us a very nice afternoon of Roman history along the Appian way, aquaducts and catacombs. He shows a lot of passion for the history, is super friendly and makes sure everyone has an unforgettable experience. We even stopped along the way to have a local snack Arancino and ended up with a longer trip than expected, well deserving a 5 star review!
The bike ride was really fun! The park is spacious and beautiful, aquaducts are impressive! Given the size of the park, e-bike is the perfect way to explore it. If you are going in autumn, expect some mud on your shoes ;) Catacombs are not very impressive, especially compared to other Roman sites. Our guide Alexandra was super nice and friendly :)
Amazing experience! Highlight of our trip and top thing we did for my 11 year old taking a break from bustling Rome streets and seeing some greenery! Our guide, whose name i forgot but starts with an R and maybe was Renaldo or something similar was amazing, from the history to engaging my kids! 10/10 would do again! Sorry for forgetting your name- we had a lot of tours during our trip but you were amazing!
Wonderful experience. Our guide was fantastic - provided great insight into the history of the surroundings. A great experience away from the city center. Highly recommend!
Wear shoes that will wipe clean as it was a bit muddy in some spots! Great tour, Leonardo was very kind and gave us great information. We enjoyed the small group - only 4 of us
Beautiful bike tour with our guide Alessio, who was very knowledgeable about Roman history. Perfect tour for those who want to see a different side of Rome and exercise at the same time.
We went on the bike ride to see Rome from another angle, and had a very elaborate and nice trip with our guide Alessio. Will totally recommend.
This was definately a great experience. I had been to Rome in the past but hadn't seen the countryside or the catacombs. I recommend booking with them because they are very nice, professional and experienced. We were as a group of 4 plus the guide and that made it very enjiyable. Worth every penny.
We had an excellent time from the Pickup location during the bike ride and the drop off. They were completely professional and very helpful. Our Family is 10 and they assigned two guides ( Alessio and Michele) to help us which was extremely good. Everyone was safe and received a lot of Great information I would do it again in a minute. Thank you
An Amazing Family E-Bike Adventure in Rome! Our family group of 10 had such a wonderful time on this e-bike tour with Alessio and Michele! We had a wide range of biking abilities, and having one guide at the front and another at the back helped everyone feel comfortable and supported. We visited the catacombs first, rode along the Appian Way, and finished at the aqueducts. Both guides took turns sharing fascinating history and insights along the route. They were very knowledgeable and made the ride so much fun! Alessio has lived in the area his whole life, and we especially enjoyed his local perspective and stories about growing up there. He also took some wonderful family photos for us, which made the experience even more special. This was such a fun way to explore a different side of Rome together. We couldn’t recommend Alessio, Michele, and this tour enough!
I planned my trip to Italy by myself. I decided group tours would be the best way to see attractions. The meeting point was not far from the bus stop and metro station. The tour guide was late. I was very concerned that I was at the wrong meeting point. I decided it would not be safe for us to ride bikes from the city center to Appian Way. That was the main reason I booked this tour to have a van transfer. That helped us out so much because traffic in Rome was hectic. We were too old to ride bikes in traffic. We rode bikes through Aquaduct park and part of Appain Way. Make sure to take water. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the attractions. I found it interesting to be talked down to by the guide at the beginning of the tour.
We had an absolutely fantastic e-bike tour with Emanuele as our guide. He did an outstanding job from beginning to end. He was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and made the entire experience fun and easy. Emanuele took us through some incredible parts of Rome and did a great job explaining the history and significance of the places we visited without ever making it feel rushed. Riding the e-bikes was a great way to see much more of Rome than we ever could have on foot, and Emanuele made sure everyone was comfortable and safe throughout the tour. This ended up being one of the highlights of our trip to Rome. If you're considering an e-bike tour, I highly recommend Bicycle Roma, and definitely ask for Emanuele if you can. He was fantastic!
Renato was an amazing tour guide and extremely knowledgeable! Our group ended up only being 3, which was really nice as we were able to easily ask questions and discuss things further. We were able to see parts of the city that we otherwise wouldn't have and learn more about the city's ancient history. I definitely recommend the tour for anyone that is looking for a unique experience and looking to get a different perspective of the city.
Excellent work sy to spend half a day . Guide Renata was knowledgeable and thoughtful .
This was hands-down one of the top highlights of our entire time in Rome, and I would absolutely recommend it. Their communication through WhatsApp was exceptional from start to finish, which made everything very easy. The scenery, parks, ancient roads, aqueducts, and catacombs were incredible. It was such a fun and memorable way to see a completely different side of Rome. One thing I would want other families to know is that there is some street riding required to get to the parks. I had been under the impression that we would mostly be away from regular traffic, so that portion caught us a little off guard. We are recreational bike riders and were not accustomed to riding on busy Roman streets with cars coming up behind us. At one point, my 11-year-old daughter, who is a strong bike rider, lost her balance in some sand along the side of the road and fell into the roadway. With cars approaching from behind, it was definitely a scary moment, but thankfully she was okay. There was also a point where a couple of drivers gestured toward a larger sidewalk on the opposite side of the road, which made us a little unsure about the route. That said, this was only a small portion of an otherwise wonderful experience. My mother and her cousin, our “Golden Gals,” are both seniors and decided they were not comfortable enough with the e-bikes to participate. In hindsight, it would have been helpful if they had been encouraged to start walking toward the catacombs while we finished the bike portion. Since they are slower walkers, we spent some of our tour time waiting for them to catch up. A little more communication around that would have made things run more smoothly. Overall, though, this was truly one of our favorite experiences in Rome. The beautiful scenery and unique opportunity to explore areas outside the usual tourist spots made it incredibly memorable. I would hands-down recommend this tour—just be prepared for a little street riding before reaching the parks and trails.
We had an awesome time and Emanuele was the best tour guide ever. He had so much passion and knowledge about everything and made this experience unforgeting. The bike was very fun and Emanuele new all the best picture spots and tools some amazing pictures
Our guide was very informative and great tour guide highly recommend to everyone to book this tour with Emanuel
We loved the tour and Renato was great. He gave us a great history lesson and was very kind to take pics for us. Would highly recommend this tour!
Our guide was awesome. Renaldo knew all the facts and shared lots of information. Great sense of humor
Riccardo did a great job showing us around the town. Very experienced and knowledgeable about the area and made it very fun. I usually don’t like listening to history, but Riccardo made it very enjoyable and in good time. Would definitely recommend doing this tour, if your contemplating it, don’t.
Prepare to have fun! Wish it was longer. Emanuel was so nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. Catacombs were cold.
Renato of Bicycle Roma was our guide for this fantastic small group tour, of Appian Way, Aqueducts and Catacombs on 16th September. Renato was excellent, friendly, demonstrated great knowledge of the history and brought it to life. He made the biking feel safe and easy. I hadn't used an ebike before, but it was straightforward.
Our tour with Bicycle Roma was fantastic. I was grateful for our guide Alessio, who was flexible, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, generous and kind. Couldn’t have had a better guide, truly. A highlight of our trip was a stop to walk into these deep, dark catacombs. It was was fascinating and unforgettable. Would trust him as a guide again in a heartbeat.
Alessio was fantastic! Fun, entertaining, knowledgeable, and quite generous with his time! We had a blast and thus trip was a highlight of our Rome trip. You get to experience places and parts otherwise, you’d miss. It’s a respite also from the density of Rome. Such beauty in the landscape as well. Make sure you book with Alessio!
Renato was amazing! This was one of the highlights of our trip so far. The trip exceeded my expectations, first we were able to ride along Appian Way feeling history under our wheels! We were able to see the chariot marks from thousands of years ago. We were then led through one of two parks to see Rome’s aqua filters, again seeing history along side of us. Our ride then led us through another park and eventually a stop at the Catacombs the burial site of nine popes and 500,000 people. We did have to cross a busy road and Renato ensured our safety was a priority. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the area. We found him helpful, courteous and fun to be with. Thank you again for an amazing day!!
Just finished an e-bike tour with our guide Renato. What a fun and amazing ride I had! Seeing the Appian road that chariots rode on, hearing the history of the area, seeing the beautiful scenery made for a great day. Renato was attentive to our group and at one point pushed my bike up a trail because I didn’t ride it up the hill. I would definitely do this tour again and recommend it to anyone who wants to see the countryside and go for a fun three hour e-bike ride.
What a fantastic day! Our guide Renato took us on an amazing adventure through time. We rode on the historic Appian way, a road over 2,000 years old. Saw ancient grave sights, ruins of villas and the aqueducts. We rode through scenic parks occasionally crossing the road but always away from any traffic. Lastly, we had an interesting tour of the ancient catacombs, before a short ride back. I wish I could add more stars.
This trip was the highlight of our Rome trip so far!! Highly recommend. Renato was an amazing guide. He was very informative and knew the history of the beautiful ruins, etc. Gorgeous scenery and so nice to get out of the city and into the countryside. The catacombs were so interesting too. The ebikes were so nice and easy to ride. Definitely not a trip for someone who doesn’t know how to ride a bike, but with a little skill you’ll have a blast!!
This ebike tour was spectacular. Renato was such an amazing guide. We had so much fun and this truly was a highlight of our trip.
Enjoy the excellent viewings of aquaducts & catacombs as you ride along the bumpy Appian Way, dirt trails and neighborhoods on e- bikes with a friendly guide.
Bike ride was beautiful and our host Nima was terrific. The E-bike makes this tour accessible to all fitness levels.
I really enjoyed this ebike tour and seeing The Appian Way, The Catacombs of Saint Callisto, and the remains of the Aqua Claudia.
Our ebike tour with Riccardo was hands-down one of the best experiences of our trip. He was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and just genuinely fun to be around, the kind of guide who makes you feel like you’re exploring with a friend rather than following an itinerary. We did the Rome Appian way tour + the catacombs and aquatics. Before we even set off, he asked what we were most interested in and tailored the stories to match. What a guide! Riding out to the ancient aqueducts was a highlight — Riccardo brought the history to life, explaining how they were built and their role in the city’s past in a way that was engaging and easy to follow, not just a recitation of dates. He clearly knows the area inside and out and has a real passion for sharing it, which made it so enjoyable as a guest! We’ve already recommended him to friends planning their own trip. If you’re booking an ebike tour, ask for Riccardo — you won’t be disappointed.
"I really enjoyed this e-bike tour as a solo traveler. Riding out into the Italian countryside was a great experience, and the visit to the catacombs was very interesting. Our guide, Renata, was professional and highly knowledgeable, making the whole trip seamless and informative. I highly recommend it if you want to see a different side of Rome."
