The absolute worst experience ever. You can just buy tickets at the top of the stairs from the museum directly. Kids are free. I wasted $90 with this company and they were rude.

Take the glass elevator to the monument’s hidden panoramic terrace, tucked beneath the grand chariot statue. Here’s a challenge: Can you spot the Colosseum and the Roman Forum from this exclusive viewpoint? It’s one of the most unique perspectives in the city!

I was a little shocked when I found out this was an, your on your own tour. However, that is exactly what we needed. There are a lot of stairs, then more stairs, never ending stairs. I have a knee replacement, I was able to go at my own pace. You do not need a guide. It was a really good experience. I’m glad this tour was the way it was.
Lovely to walk around for free and see the great architecture. Tickets to go up to viewing platform were great. Wonderful discount for disabled card holders. It was honestly the best views, and a great way to see over Rome!!
My adult daughter and I had a fantastic experience viewing Rome from the top of Altar of the Fatherland, amazing views of the Coliseum and St. Peter's Dome.
Very touching and educational telling the history of the people of Italy and their will to survive. To always remember those who gave their lives in defense of freedom.
Very hard to get directions and assistance, staff not helpful, ticket redemption area not well marked
what a fantastic panoramic view of Rome. quite a lot of steps but well worth it! Touristation staff were very helpful. Recommended
We walked around building twice and asked 3 different employees how to get a ticket voucher….. even though we were charged for tickets already on this app., and none of the employees was able to direct us to where we needed to go. We gave up and left. Not happy with lack of signage or how to get a ticket to go up the elevator.
The sculptures are extraordinary. The marble palozzo and the views are extraordinary. Built to celebrate the unification of Italy. Wow
I love this building. To me it is symbolises what Rome was all about. The museum inside is very informative.
The facility told me I was in the wrong place. After showing them I was at the correct address, they agreed I was in the right place. The tour consisted of going to the rough top for a view of the city and an app that identified landmarks. 7 of the land marks were identified as church of San Carlo.
Amazing views of Rome and plenty of space to move around. Requires climbing a number of steps to reach the elevator. Also, you need to go to an offsite location to receive the tickets.
The outdoor part of this site was breathtaking with many marble steps leading up to the scenic outlook open space. We also rode up the Panoramic Elevator and had amazing views of the city where we took a lot of pictures! The indoors museum was very interesting. We felt very informed thanks to the Touristation at Piazza Aracoeli. We had a coffee and cocktail in the cafe next to the Panoramic Elevator and enjoyed very good service. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone as a must see!
This excursion was not bad overall. A bit tricky to find when you’re going past the monument, and the WiFi service at that location sucked. You need WiFi to download the pop guide app if you don’t have it otherwise you won’t understand what the history is mostly about. Those being the bad points. The good points were that the tickets you purchase for the tour will get you into every single part of them monument. You definitely want all access to the site since the best views of the city are from the top of the monument after taking the elevator to the top. There are different tiers of views but make certain you get to the top, you can’t miss that. Also, you might be able to take a little bit of time and enjoy lunch at the cafe on the upper level before reaching the elevators.
First, the “tour company” was quite helpful, but you really don’t need them. If you walk up the monument to where the elevator starts, you can simply purchase a ticket there. We were directed to proceed “up the steps” with some general finger pointing, and we went up the steps to the church which is next to the monument. Then we had to walk back down and start again up different steps of the monument itself. So, note to travelers, unless you specifically want to see the church, be sure to start directly in front of the monument, and walk past the [very sloppy] soldiers guarding the tomb of the unknown soldier. Do not climb the stairs off to one side which go to the church. Once you get to the top of the monument you are treated to some stunning views of Rome, but there is nothing else up there and 10 minutes later you’ll be on the elevator back down. Honestly, it was worth it, but it felt like quite an ordeal to reach the top, and we are reasonably fit. One of our party had enough of all the steps and called it quits at the cafe half way up.
We spent one of our evenings in Rome on the golf cart tour and it was amazing. Our tour guide was Alex and he kept both my children(10/7yrs) very much entertained. They are very curious and had all there questions answered… The tour hits all the right spots and was just perfect when it came to pick up and drop off…. I would highly recommend this tour and Alex they were both a gem…. Great with kids!!!
I was unable to find the redemption point for the tickets which I now realise was too far from the entry of the attraction . The Viator app wouldn’t let me contact the tour operator direct - kept showing an error! The cost was double what I ended up paying at the actual venue. I have requested a refund from Viator but they have not been helpful at all. This is a great attraction but no need to pay double with this operator
It was difficult from the United States figuring out which experiences in Rome actually need skip-the-line tickets because Reddit has conflicting anecdotal experience. For this one, the viator voucher requires an extra walk to a nearby tourist office to exchange the voucher for a printed ticket with barcode, and that voucher is good for 7 days, not the timestamp that viator offers the buyer from their app or website. This was very misleading and knowing in advance the flexibility of the Italian ticket would have been better for planning one of my days in Rome. Even with my skip-the-line ticket, waited in line at the actual elevators while others around me were buying tickets on-site in the same line for half of what I paid Viator. Do yourself a favor and just buy on-site. If an afternoon in July wasn’t sold-out, it’s probably rarely necessary to have an advance ticket and pay double the local rate for extra hoops to jump for the same experience. The platform itself was a nice view but at the time of day (4pm in July per the misleading timestamp in the app reservation) it wasn’t a pleasant time to be up there in 100 F temperatures.
We got in as soon as it opened. Straight up and got a roof view ticket And what a view You have to see this view Best view of Rome in rome A full 360 The museum is not to bad.
Riding to the top of this magnificent structure and the views from the top are amazing incredible. Prepare for stairs and nice cafe at the top.
Great views over Rome! There was a cafeteria nearby to the lifts on the ground floor which was reasonably priced. We got ourselves a drink and hot snack after the viewing experience.
Do not buy this ticket here online because the place is free entrance. They only ticket you need is just for the elevator to go up and see Rome from the top
We got the runaround of where to go several times and eventually decided not not to go in as it was too stressful. Please refund our money at your earliest.
The tour is called the glass elevator tour. But there’s at least 100 steps to the elevator. So that’s a little misleading. The directions to the touristation aren’t very good. I couldn’t find it without calling them. But the view is magnificent and the building is beautiful. It was worth the money
This a Perfect place to see Rome from above you literally will see All Rome, be prepare to climb a lot steps before getting at the top mezzanine. It is worthy very nice!!!
It was HOT when we were there. It burned your skin to touch any metal railing. Nice views of the city but the "what you're looking at" boards were very faded.
Mid afternoon. No queue. €17 adult €3 kids Amazing views over the whole of Rome. Certainly one of the best things we have done and so great to have a breeze on the really hot days
Going thru Tripadvisor/Viator was a joke! We stood in line longer to get our “skip the line”tickets at the designated pickup spot than we would have at the actual sites ticket stand. The view itself was beautiful
The observation deck is open until 19:00, but the place trip advisor told us to get tickets was only open until 16:00, and trip advisor did not provide that information so we didn't get to go because we got there after the trip advisor ticket place was closed. We did go the next morning though; the tickets were only 15€ each (as opposed to the 32€ trip advisor charged). There was no line, and the people at the Monument were extremely helpful! The view was fantastic, would 100% recommend, but don't waste your time or money with trip advisor on this one.
We were never told that we had to redeem tickets from pdf voucher. Got to site and ended up buying the tickets again! Communication regarding process was poor. Really want a refund
We visited the military museum to which the elevator was part of. Both the museum and views from the top were awe inspiring.
App for the english guide didn’t work. Only one lift available to the top . Museum was interesting about how many different independence wars Italy had .
The big white building near the colosseum… everyone sees it but walk past heading to Romes No 1 attraction. If you can cope with the many steps the lift ride to the roof presents the best viewing point in Rome .. treat yourself to this experience it’s well worth it
Quality / price not really worth it. View was nice though😃 museum Piazza Venezia was surprise. Was included in ticket. So all in all not bad😀
Didn't go up to the top but it's certainly worth viewing from the road. Even though its so much younger than the buildings around it it still has such a presence
Beautiful views from the top of monument to Vittorio Emanuele II, but this is quite an expensive way to do it. The lift cost is only 12 Euro.
It was interesting. The views were amazing. I would recommend the glass elevator to the top as the views on a clear day are amazing. Not suitable for wheelchairs.
Panoramic view at the top of the building was amazing and very spacious to walk around to view of the top spots
There are some amazing views from up here! You need to climb the stairs at the entrance but then you can use a lift to explore the rest. Entry is free but you can also pay extra to go up to the top, this was cheaper for 18-25 year olds - €2. You can see the Colosseum from the top! There’s a little café about halfway up, we stopped for a slush – watermelon flavour!
I could not figure out where to get my tickets and ended up climbing all the stairs only to find out that the ticket office pick up for these trip advisor/victor tickets was down at street level. I completely lost my tickets because I was not able to go back down the stairs and then back up again so I just purchased new tickets right at the attraction and lost €125 (we were 6 people)….
The building itself supplies some great views but the best ones are right at the top. The queue for the lift did not look too long but can take a while due to the capacity of the lifts. On the plus side it means it is not as busy at the top.
Purchased tickets online to save time. Had to go to a ticket booth blocks away from event to have online tickets/voucher redeemed for tickets. Discovered at that point, we paid 2X as much for the tickets versus what we would have paid at the event itself. Also, our online tickets noted we could only use at a specific time. Once we redeemed the online ticket/voucher for tickets, we were told we had 7 days to use them. Pleased with other events we purchased through your site. Felt this one was a rip off.
The view was spectacular and so easy to get around. We'll worth a visit. It was quiet even in the middle of the day
Very poor communication, employees who do not think a millimeter! Although the counter asked where the meeting point was, and it was clear that the tickets had to be validated, the employee did not communicate this and sent us to the ticket station, there we learned that they were provisional tickets. WhatsApp requests were not answered. When we returned to the office and we asked why she had sent us on, she said she thought we already had tickets. Incredibly incompetent employee.
The Altar of the Fatherland, also known as the Vittoriano, is perhaps the most representative monument of the Roman Risorgimento. Built between 1885 and 1911 to celebrate Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of Italy, it rises with its white bulk, high staircase and monumental colonnade overlooking Piazza Venezia. It houses the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which commemorates all soldiers who fell in the war, the Central Museum of the Risorgimento and the Shrine of Flags. With an elevator you can climb to its summit from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of Rome
Come for Service and alone, we find a temple of history where you can breathe the true sense of belonging and country. All Italians must visit it inside and out at least once, with tribute to the UNKNOWN MILITARY.
A beautiful place, a must for a trip to Rome. Going up to the roof with the elevator you can enjoy an incredible view
A bad organization, there was a single line for both those who had already booked online and those who had yet to do so. The rude attendants could not make two separate lines... we were half an hour in line (despite we already had tickets!). I am speechless, I am a tour guide and I live in Rome, but I have never seen such rudeness and disorganization! It's a great shame because the place is really unique... it would take very little... maybe someone with an ounce of will to make their work aware!
Great experience! We bought our ticket for only 4€ because my friend and I are under 25 years old. We could admire all of Rome from the beautiful terrace of the Altar of the Fatherland by taking the elevator. The terrace was also not very crowded probably because it was August and because it was 16:00. The view is spectacular! With the same ticket you can also visit the two exhibitions inside the altar and Palazzo Venezia. Experience highly recommended!
I was with my wife to visit this unique place, and often not known by those who live in Rome. In the operator’s office we also saw a very interesting video about ancient Rome. The staff was friendly and provided us with all the information to be able to climb the Vittoriano which is really the roof of Rome!
