Itinerary
The basilica was founded by the Roman Emperor Constantine I over the burial place of Saint Paul, where it was said that, after the Apostle's execution, his followers erected a memorial, called a cella memoriae. This first basilica was consecrated by Pope Sylvester in 324.
The Appian Way was a Roman road used as a main route for military supplies since its construction for that purpose in 312 BC. The Appian Way was the first long road built specifically to transport troops outside the smaller region of greater Rome (this was essential to the Romans). The few roads outside the early city were Etruscan and went mainly to Etruria. By the late Republic, the Romans had expanded over most of Italy and were masters of road construction. Their roads began at Rome, where the master itinerarium, or list of destinations along the roads, was located, and extended to the borders of their domain – hence the expression, "All roads lead to Rome".
St Peter Square
The Aurelian Walls (Italian: Mura aureliane) are a line of city walls built between 271 AD and 275 AD in Rome, Italy, during the reign of the Roman Emperors Aurelian and Probus. They superseded the earlier Servian Wall built during the 4th century BC.
The Pyramid of Cestius (in Italian, Piramide di Caio Cestio or Piramide Cestia) is an ancient pyramid in Rome, Italy, near the Porta San Paolo and the Protestant Cemetery. It was built as a tomb for Gaius Cestius, a member of the Epulones religious corporation.[1] It stands at a fork between two ancient roads, the Via Ostiensis and another road that ran west to the Tiber along the approximate line of the modern Via Marmorata. Due to its incorporation into the city's fortifications, it is today one of the best-preserved ancient buildings in Rome.
The Catacomb(s) of Callixtus (also known as the Cemetery of Callixtus) is one of the Catacombs of Rome on the Appian Way, most notable for containing the Crypt of the Popes (Italian: Cappella dei Papi), which once contained the tombs of several popes from the 2nd to 4th centuries.

Me and my family had a wonderful time! The wine tasting was fantastic.
We had a wonderful ride through the city and to the catacombs. Stefano was incredibly kind and accomodating, and he shared lots of fascinating information along the way. Highly recommended!

The view and history was amazing! Stefano was great getting us to and from Lazio, great to talk with on the journey. We picked up some wine and olive oil yo bring back home, wonderful experience!
I highly recommend this experience. Alessandro was a fantastic guide who showed us what I had not seen in six previous trips to Rome. He was accommodating, charming, and knowledgeable. This is an excellent use of time.
Excellent experience!! The driver took us all around the city showing us the best views on this wonderful city. We were short of time and the full day experience was a great choice so it made possible to see everything with our personal tour guide and driver. Highly recommend.
they organized this Colosseum-Vatican full day tour for us Everything was perfect, a driver picked us up at the hotel and took us to the Colosseum where we had a tour guide always organized by the agency ... same thing with the Vatican museums. Precise and punctual driver, Mercedes car, we also visited some of the main monuments of Rome including the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon etc I highly recommend this tour to appreciate all the wonders of Rome.
Outstanding tour very punctual and knowledgeable tour guide - We really enjoyed our tour guide as he made our trip to Rome memorable
Super worth the money in my opinion! We got picked up right on time from our doorstep in a Mercedes and got brought around Rome with a personal guide who was very knowledgable about the various sights we went to see. There was a slight issue with the tickets for the Colosseum but it had more to do how unorganised the ticketing office at the Colosseum is. Michael also checked up on us while we were in the Vatican City to make sure everything was okay. Overall a great experience and I strongly recommend :)
Italy is one of the most beautiful countries!. We went on holiday together again. Everywhere we were it was very nice!. The food and drinks, and the wine tastings are once again very true. We are as always very satisfied with the hotels, hostels where we have been. We won't be asking again. A.F.
