Oh my gosh, the best tour ever! Not only is the food great (because it’s Italy), but our guide, Vanessa, was absolutely fabulous. Knowledgeable on the history, the tourist interests, food..:and even taught us about the regional wines. Thank you, Vanessa for a wonderful evening!

Some walking requirement but not difficult. Vanessa was so good with history and her choice of flavors was superb!
Wonderful tour. Our guide was incredible and his choices of food was perfect. He knew all the authentic stops. His knowledge of history as well as local custom made the tour even better. A wonderful young man
Did this tour on our first night in Rome, great way to kick off the trip — exploring such a unique neighborhood and tasting some staple, delicious dishes. Sylvia was a great guide, very knowledgeable and passionate about the area which added to the experience! Would reco a small group tour!
Torrential rain made this challenging- guide offered the next day but we were leaving. We think the tour should have been canceled with full refund because of weather..Wish wine was included (similar trip in Florence included wine for same price). Lovely tour guide
This was a fantastic way to explore Rome away from all the usual tourist traps… our guide was super friendly and knowledgable about the local food scene. It was a perfect leisurely Sunday morning in the city after a full-on day of rugby and pubs on the Saturday!
Perfect ! Our guide was excellent.
I had an absolutely fantastic time on the Trastevere food tour with Vanessa from WalkingGourmet! We got to try an amazing variety of local foods, including supplì, porchetta, Trapizzino, Roman-style pizza, gelato, and coffee. Everything was delicious, but the standout for me was definitely the Trapizzino with Bollito alla Picchiapò filling. Vanessa was a wonderful guide throughout the entire experience. She was friendly, warm, and knowledgeable. Communication before the tour was excellent, and during the tour she shared interesting information about the food, the neighborhood, and Roman culture. She also gave us lots of helpful recommendations and advice for the rest of our stay in Rome. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rome, especially if you love food and want a fun, authentic experience. Thank you Vanessa for such a memorable evening!
This was the best thing we did in Rome this trip! Syllia was incredibly fun and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
Silvia was an awesome guide. It felt like a member of our family showed us around a Trastevere. We sampled prosciutto and cheese, Supli, trapizzino and gelato. The food was great but having a guide like Silvia made the tour. It was a private tour with 6 family members but Silvia felt like number 7. I highly recommend!
This was a fun food tour where we got to sample a variety of different foods in a local region of Rome. We were able to get into places that already had a waiting list. We hit all the highlights of appetizers, main meal, and deserts without feeling rushed. We highly recommend Viator for this tour and our guide was wonderful. Jim & Jean
This was a great way to spend our first evening in Rome. Our guide, Orso, was extremely knowledgeable about everything not just the food. Everything was well organized and the food was excellent. A good cross section of every day foods.
What a fabulous experience this traverse walking tour was. Silvia our guide was a friendly, fun person who walked us around the area, and took us to lots of amazing places to eat. We had suppli, trapezzanni, meat, cheese, fruit and beautiful cake. We were with a lovely group of people which made the day extra special.
The food was amazing. Silvia es very friendly and extremely knowledgeable, not just about food, but also about the history. It felt like walking with a friend!
This is a wonderful tour to book if you want to get to know this rich and interesting area in Rome. And if you luck out and get Vanessa as your guide, you will have a terrific experience. It’s not all about the food (but that, of course, is the star of the tour) it’s about getting to know the history and the culture of the region . And Vanessa is an expert who will enhance your experience with a lot of interesting information.
They provide large portions of food! The area is beautiful. Vincent was very nice and gave some history with the tour.
Ask for Silvia, she was amazing! She was nice, funny and so informative. We enjoyed amazing food with history intertwined. It was a highlight of our trip.
This was a standing street food experience which was not expected based on the price. Profit margin was enormous, since we saw all the prices. No napkins were offered , nor water (until asked), where our first stop required us to peel fruit with our hands. Next stop was eating with our hands standing. We then insisted on a table at the next stop, which seemed to be an imposition. Stay away. Also, our guide could not answer basic questions about the product offerings of the shops we went into. So disappointing.
Very good food and guide was super accommodating. Went in September which was considered 'out of season' so just the two of us on the tour with the guide!
Our tour guide was exceptional making it a great experience for us . Would highly recommend this tour
This tour was awesome! Gabriele was the best tour guide! He was very knowledgeable about the history of the city and the foods we were eating. We walked through the neighborhoods and were able to try local cuisine, such as tiramisu, porchetta, espresso, and suppli. He was very personable and we were able to get to know each other. He took our interests into account and incorporated them into the tour. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and would highly recommend Gabriele and the tour to anyone!
We went on a private food tour of the Trastevere that was fun with delicious food. The tour guide Silvia made the experience outstanding. We went to five different spots and tried authentic Roman food at all of them. (4 food and the last one was gelato). Try the Tiramisu flavor. All of the food at all of the stops were delicious and we tried pasta carbonara for first time. I definitely recommend this tour for anyone who wants to experience authentic tasty food of Trastevere area with an amazing guide. Ask for Silvia.
Excellent way to discover this gorgeous neighbourhood and its traditional Roman street food. Sylvia was fantastic- had a great evening. Loved it!
Silvia was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed her company...and the food. She took us to sample some amazing traditional Roman dishes as well as some newer creations. She was great with our kids too. Definitely book her to discover the best gelato in Italy. We even got some history of the area and learned about the artisan food. My 8 year old son said it was his "favourite bit" of his whole holiday.
We had a wonderful time exploring this beautiful neighborhood and eating delicious food! Our guide was enthusiastic and fun!! Highly recommend!!
Excellent tour, very knowledgeable guide very personable. Some lovely food and some out of the way shops and restaurants
Our guide Christian was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable and made our tour fun and interesting. We did this tour in the afternoon having arrived in Rome that morning after a 24 hour flight. It was just the thing we needed. Saw lots but didn’t have to exert too much energy. Thoroughly recommend
The food is phenomenal! Visited at least 6 local restaurants/bakery/markets- one better than the other! I highly recommend this experience! Our guide Silvia was knowledgeable and made us feel so comfortable!
Tour ended up being private with just my family of 4. It was a nice selection of food but felt a little weird because the guide was just watching us eat. Cheese & meat plate was so much food—that could have been a full meal in itself. The chicken trapezzino was amazing. Overall, a great way to start our short stay in Rome.
Great street food tour with Walking Gourmet and our guide Tiziana.Tasted half a dozen different types of Roman street food from Supli to Pizza to Gelato and some in between.Overall a very enjoyable couple of hours spent getting a taste of the real Rome
In the heart of Rome, you find a district called Trastevere with the best food in the region ❤️ My heart was stolen by the charcuterie board, my husband really enjoyed the pizza triangle from the famous place called Trapizzino, and our son really enjoyed pizzas and arancini. All of this polished off with good Italian ice cream and espresso - what else can you expect from the perfect food tour? Highly recommended!
Violetta was knowledgeable and passionate about food and showed us a great time in Trastevere. She shared her favorite places and offered to help us get a cab afterwards. She went above and beyond!
The suppli and the pasta were both good. However, the 3 of us on the tour were forced to choose 1 type of pasta so it could be split 3 ways. The pizza was average and the gelato was fine. We were told there would be 5 stops. Apparently, 1 of the stops was simply coffee, leaving virtually 4 stops. Bottom line is the tour cost $117.00 US and IMO, was worth maybe $50.
Fun guide , interesting stories about the town and tasty treats unique to the area on the tour. We also enjoyed the other people on the tour.
Giulio was very punctual; informed us beforehand and was in time at the meeting point. We visited many interesting places and enjoyed new tastes. Trastevere is interesting; beautiful in unique way. Three hours went quickly. Giulio’s english is good and we had interesting discussions. Can highly recommend him.
We enjoyed our food tour. Our guide was very personable and very informative. Food was good. Got to sample so many different foods. Really enjoyed the Suppli and our sit down meal.
Tiziana was delightful! We enjoyed her company and conversation as much as the treats. Walking around the area gave us a totally different feel than the typical tourist areas. Six different food stops and a nice variety of tastes. We recommend!
Nice guide. Tour only lasted about an hour. Would have liked the 3 hours we paid for. Food was good.
Sylvia, our guide, was amazing. She had so much energy and was so interested in us, her clients. Not only did she know about food, but also about the history of the area, which was fascinating! The vibe was pulsing and we loved the food. It was something we would never have tried if we were out on our own! I highly recommend this tour. It is worth every penny!
Silvia was amazing! She was very knowledgeable and offered great facts about the area and Rome as a whole. She was very personable and fun to spend 2.5 hours with!
We had a wonderful food tour with Silvia! It was fun and felt like being with a new friend, walking through the streets, and getting to try all kinds of delicious, local food. Silvia was very kind, knowledgeable, and personable, and a great guide for our family of four. We’d highly recommend this tour to others looking for a personalized experience in Trastavere!
We! Love! Our! Guide! Tiziana was amazing! She is knowledgeable, personable, funny and really made us feel catered to. We started our stay in Rome with this tour, and it’s a fabulous introduction to food, customs and culture. Highly recommend!
Our guide did a very good job of explaining the history behind the places that she took us. Delicious and plentiful, come hungry. We highly recommend this tour.
Absolutely one of my favorite tours, and worth the trip to Rome for. Sabina guided me through Trastevere as not just a friend but also a welcomed guest. Sabina not only provided history into the area, but also picked the very best places to sample the uniquely Roman food. She was happy to answer questions and understood the joy of experiencing new food. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to have a relaxed and delightful journey into the amazing tastes of Trastevere’s street food.
Food tour was great! Sylvia a guide was very knowledgeable and very passionate about the local food. Everything was delicious! Would highly recommend!
It took is a little bit to find Silvia, but once we did, we had a wonderful time! She took us to memorable places to try different foods and she was so knowledgeable. We really enjoyed our time with her!
Gabriele was awesome. Articulate; funny; and incredibly knowledgeable!! Great food and so much fun. I will definitely recommend to all my friends
Sylvia was great. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about food and history of the area. We had some great local food typical if the area. Thankyou Sylvia.
Sylvia was an excellent personable guide! The food she shared with us was diverse, delicious and showed what the Trestevere area had to offer. We only wish we would have done the tour at the beginning of our visit to Rome.
My cousin, aunt and I had a wonderful time with Gabriel on this tour. Little tastes of food and drink sprinkled with tons of interesting Roman history. Highly recommend!
