Pompeii is amazing, needed more time to see it all. I will definitely return and spend more time exploring Pompeii.

After the tour, unwind at a nearby winery where you'll enjoy a tasting of four wines paired with a delicious selection of antipasti, a first course, and dessert.

The experience was amazing. Our guide was very informative. The lunch & wine was extraordinary!
The pre-arranged transportation from Rome to Pompei was convenient. Our local guide in Pompei speaks excellent English and efficiently showed us all the must-see sites. The wine tasting was fun.
Great way to get to Pompeii if you are staying in Rome. The guide was very helpful in the train station, and then transferring to a bus in Napoli was very easy. The tour itself was really informative and interesting. Federica was my guide, and her knowledge and stories made the tour of Pompeii a lot of fun. I had thought about just going to Pompeii without a tour group, but after doing the tour I would definitely recommend arranging for a guide. Pompeii is pretty big and it is well preserved in its original state, so there are very few signs or screens displaying information about the history of each particular building or street. The meal and drinks afterwards were also great, with the local drinks like meloncello standing out.
Stay away, shady business activity with train tickets for our entire group of 8 people that had seats that didn’t exist, we were told to just take any seat available by our ItaliaTours guides. This happened on both legs of our trip. We had zero issues with Frecciarossa when we booked train tickets ourselves on other days of our trip. This could have been a real disaster for everyone, we use Viator to eliminate stress while traveling in other countries, didn’t happen on this one.
Ultimately, we did not go (trip cancelled) due to a train delay in Rome. The trip is tightly scheduled so any delay in trains disrupts the day. On the good side, after I contacted Viator, they contacted the tour operator and our money was refunded.
This was a great excursion. Our tour guide Frederica was amazing. Super informative and delivered with great humor. I learned more than I ever knew before about Pompeii! I highly recommend this trip!
Wonderful experience and wonderful guides - thank you
A really enjoyable and relaxing day. Well organised, great guides and vineyard food and wine were sooooo good!
The tour is only 2 hours and very limited in what you see. The Amphitheater is not part of the tour. Disappointed. The tour itself was ok but a lot of walking on extremely uneven terrain. Quite a few folks had difficulty maneuvering. The wine tasting and lunch was ok. Long day travelling, nice to see but should have went on our own.
Very informative. Guide was outstanding.
A lot of walking in Pompeii! Our guide, Vincenzo was great! I don’t like wine but lunch was good……..
The tour in Pompeii was very informative and interesting. Vincenzo was a superb guide, who mixed facts with humour. Both he and Emiliano took care of all the travel and all we needed to do was enjoy the day! The Vineyard wine tasting and lunch was amazing - very high quality and set in breathtaking surroundings. All of the staff involved were friendly and helpful. It was an amazing day. We enjoyed it tremendously!
Overall experience was good, there is much to explore in Pompeii, it just hard with a group of different levels of mobility which makes it harder to mover around. Transport was good, guide was pleasant but not overly friendly, winery was outstanding.
Easy to locate meeting point. Fun tour guides with lots of knowledge about Pompeii. Able to meet any tour complication easily and resolve all problems. We experienced a major traffic jam and our guide and driver were able to extract our vehicle from the mess, take a different route and not be upset by the change of plans. Best way to visit this must see city.
I am extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled and the lack of reasonable customer support provided by your company. We left our hotel an hour earlier than planned but were unable to reach the meeting point due to a marathon that caused significant travel disruptions. As the tour operator, your company should have been aware of this major event and proactively notified customers that additional travel time would be required. Had we received appropriate guidance in advance, we could have made better arrangements to avoid missing the train. I made multiple attempts to communicate with your team and missed the train by less than five minutes despite our efforts to arrive on time. I immediately asked whether rescheduling would be possible, even if it required paying a reasonable fee. One representative told me this was not an option and that I would have to pay an additional $500 to book the tour again. Another representative then directed me through the app to contact the company by email, rather than providing a clear and consistent resolution. This response is unacceptable. I made a genuine effort to attend the tour, left early, and attempted to communicate with your team when unforeseen travel disruptions arose. Instead of offering a reasonable solution, your company provided conflicting responses and placed the entire financial burden on the customer, demanding an additional $500 with no practical alternative. I do not consider this level of communication or customer service acceptable. Customers should be able to expect proactive guidance about significant local events that may affect scheduled tours, as well as fair and consistent treatment when disruptions occur. I expect this complaint to be taken seriously. I am requesting that management review how this situation was handled and reconsider the refusal to offer a reasonable rescheduling option or other appropriate resolution. This experience has severely damaged my trust in your company. Unless this matter is addressed appropriately, I will not book with your company again and will share my experience with other travelers so they can make an informed decision before booking.
The tour was incredibly well organised, especially considering they needed to coordinate multiple groups and different destinations. The length of time in Pompeii was 2 hours which felt like a good amount of time without exhausting participants. The tour was relaxed and went at a leisurely pace, and the guide, Rosella, was excellent. The winery we visited afterward was wonderful and a very enjoyable and relaxed experience
This experience was so amazing. Vincenzo our tour guide didn’t stop to have a breather as he talked us through the Pompeii town ruins, even showcasing something that was still being excavated. I was fascinated to see how much has been recovered. The meeting point was easy to find but because we were at a train station made it a little hard to hear what our guide was saying. However she stuck by us and made sure we were on the train and in our seats. The after wine and food experience made the tour more special by tasting such delicious foods and home grown wines. We booked this tour a week in advance as a recommendation from some family but if you book night before you won’t be disappointed.
Wonderful and educational day ! Dress for the weather. Carla was so knowledgeable . The winery had several choices of wine as well as an olive oil they made we loved the apple cello! Such a great day !
The guide was fantastic. The organization of the day was very well done as well.
The Pompeii site is fascinating and our guide Elena was very knowledgeable. The wine lunch was mediocre and meagre. Many people in our good bought food at the train station on the way home because lunch was much too light. The tour was worth it, but skip the lunch and winery.
EST a good breakfast, bring water and wear comfortable shoes. Lots of walking and lunch is not until after 3pm
They left without us, even though we were at the train station and called them several times to find them. Ended up stranded in the terminal. No return call, no help ..
Federica was an amazing guide. Easy to follow instructions, well led, winery was amazing and Pompeii was incredible.
It really did not leave enough time for us to explore Pompeii so if you are interested in in the archaeological part of Pompeii, then I would skip the wine tour and dinner. And do it Pompeii exclusively
Well organized . Was sent pictures were to meet at train station. Guides excellent. Pompei was one of best tours I have been on. Antonio was fabulous as a guide. Winery was beautiful and wine and food excellent.
Toni was a Great guide. Interesting and informative and personable. So much better than walking alone as I did once before . And Lunch was a bonus !
Great experience, from the start to the end. Luca from Italia Tours was great! Frederica, the archaeological guide was very informative and knowledgeable.
100000% recommend this adventure! Our guides were wonderful-so friendly and helpful and knowledgeable!! The tour was wonderful and lunch and wine was amazing! I absolutely recommend spending the money to have an incredible guided experience. Luca was our main guide and he was so lovely...Frederica was our Pompei guide and she was very knowledgeable about the history and answered our many questions. An amazing experience!!
An excellent day out. Communication about travel arrangements were clear, including pictures of meetings points. Well organised train travel. The larger travel group was split into three smaller groups each with their own guide to ensure that for the guided tour around Pompeii the experience was more personal. The tour itself was detailed and very interesting. Pompeii is huge but so the guides chose the interesting aspects and explained in detail so many interesting features. On many tours I have found the lunches to be disappointing but not his one. We went to a lovely vineyard. There was short but interesting wine tasting session at our tables before the food was served. The food itself was very good - 3 good courses of food that was of excellent quality, a proper decent lunch. The trip back to Rome was well organised and we were well looked after all the time. Overall one of the best trips I have done - the attention to detail was there and you really felt as if they wanted you to have a good quality day to remember.
Very well organized and informative. The winery was also fantastic with delicious food and beautiful gardens.
This was a wonderful experience our guide was so great. My husband gets unsteady and tired after walking awhile with his Parkinson’s but she would always wait and walk back during tour to check on him if we got behind she never acted like inconvenience. Knowledge of Pompeii amazing. Great trip. Thank you!!!
Very organized day! No issues or stress. Pompeii was a bucket lister and it didn’t disappoint. It was so much bigger than I ever thought. Wine at end of day was a nice end to experience. Tour guide was exceptional!
Our guide, Antonio, was outstanding. He was easy to understand and very knowledgeable. The lunch and wine tasting was wonderful. My husband doesn't drink wine but he still enjoyed the meal and had soda. The high speed train ride was enjoyable. The meeting point directions were very clear.
Tour of Pompeii was amazing! Benedicto was fantastic! He made the information fun and interesting. Vineyard was beautiful.
Great tour of Pompeii. Guide was super with knowledge and taking care of us. Enjoyed the wine and lunch. Train and vans were fine.
The trip was well organised. At the station its very busy, the guides do well to keep all together. The actual tour guide you are handed over to was great, goid sense of humour, knowledgeable, good pace, the only critisism I have is the bluetooth radios go out of range quickly especially if you are at the back unable to pass somebody, you miss the commentary. The wine tasting was a nice experience too, the place was beautiful.
Excellent , professional and wonderful guide in Naples ..explaining so well all about the history and archeological facts of Pompeii ..also we had a wonderful time on the Wine tour …try the Meloncello …rather than the Limoncello ! Incredibly addictive and seriously delicious !! Excellent tour from start to finish …thank you !
Put together greatly. From directions on meeting, train guidance, guide knowledge and especially the winery visit for tasting and lunch.
This tour was great. The day in Pompeii was well organised and really interesting . Our guide Serena bought Pompeii to life again with her informative historical stories and understanding of the site. Lunch at the winery was enjoyable. Not quite the on the hillside of the volcano but in a beautiful winery. Great day out of Rome and highly recommended.
Wonderful trip & super organized!!! On time. The train was so easy & relaxing. Even the coach ride was great. We had a fantastic tour guide in Pompeii. She was very knowledgeable & did a great job. Funny, great personality. You’re in a group of maybe 20. No larger. Then the winery was beautiful & much needed time to sit & chat with your new friends. The wine was generous, lunch size pasta dish. But that was fine for me. I’d highly recommend!!!
This was an amazing tour. Full of information and commentary. The wine tasting was also very enjoyable.
The tour was excellent, well organized, and the logistics were seamless. Our guide Vincenzo was knowledgeable and engaging. Highly recommend.
We opted for the private tour version of this trip. Everything went very smoothly from beginning to end. The guides were very knowledgeable and very helpful. Clear direction on where and when to meet and what to expect. For an all day event, this was handled very professionally - well done. We really enjoyed the experience.
Victoria was a delight. The wine and lunch were wonderful. Highly recommend this tour. Train made it a much shorter day than riding the bus
Great experience overall Seamless coordination of our meeting spots and transportation Very knowledgeable tour guide in Pompeii - ask to see the red light district in Pompeii - not all guides take you there
Excellent experience. Well organized, representative (Sabina?) that met us and accompanied us on the train handled all of our train logistics professionally and efficiently. Our tour guide (Vincenzo) was engaging, humorous and well informed. They both made sure we were well cared for. The wine tasting was excellent, lunch was very light but delicious and the winery was beautiful. They did not pressure us hard about buying any wine and provided 5 different tastings plus limoncello with desert. Would recommend this tour without reservation.
Charlotte, and Anthony were fantastic, everything ran smooth. Charlotte met us train station mafmde sure everyone knew what was happening. Anthony was the guide in Pompeii he knew everything about Pompeii and was funny it was not a boring trip. I recommend this tour.
Despite the fact the there was about 60 tourists everything went very smoothly. Love it! Knowledgeable Tour guides.
Antonio did a fantastic job putting everything that happened into sections for everyone to understand. Kudos to him for doing that. The winery was spectacular.
