Lisa and Michelangelo were the most wonderful guides. They took time to customize our tour so that everyone could experience what they were hoping to see! It was really fun to have access to neighborhoods through the small streets and we visited places that aren’t regularly on the typical itinerary. Would recommend!

We were traveling with my elderly parents, and the combination of a guided Colosseum visit followed by a golf cart tour turned out to be a great way for them to see Rome without completely wearing them out. We did have to walk about a block from our hotel to meet our golf cart driver/guide, Paulina, but that was easy enough. My husband and I sat facing backwards in the cart, which actually turned out to be great for taking videos as we zipped through Rome. Our first stop was the Colosseum, where we met our dedicated Colosseum guide, Davide. He was excellent—animated, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. He pointed out details we never would have noticed on our own and, just as importantly, expertly guided us through the MANY checkpoints involved in visiting the Colosseum. He also made sure my parents were able to use the elevator both up and down and was always willing to take photos of us. There was one point where my parents started to lose interest because we were standing in the sun, but overall, this was exactly the right amount of time for them to experience the Colosseum. Between the walking and waiting for the elevators, we ended up about 20 minutes late meeting back up with Paulina, but Davide walked us all the way back to our meeting point with her, and it wasn't a problem. Our tickets also included admission to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill within 24 hours. My parents bowed out of that, but my husband and I appreciated having the option to return since we'd already paid for the admission as part of the tour. After the Colosseum, we rejoined Paulina for the golf cart portion, which was wonderfully relaxing. We made several stops around Rome, sometimes getting out to explore, including at the Pantheon, while at others we could simply enjoy the sights from the cart. There was also a gelato stop along the way, which was a nice touch. By this point in our trip my parents were tired, and I think they especially enjoyed being able to zip around Rome and see so much without having to do much more walking. Davide was a standout Colosseum guide, Paulina made the rest of the afternoon easy and enjoyable, and the combination of the more intensive Colosseum visit with the easygoing golf cart tour worked extremely well for our group.
Our driver and guide was Renato. He was incredibly friendly and engaging and ensured we had an excellent time.
We booked this for our clients (family of three 80 & 60 years old). They absolutely loved it. They said it made for the best day on their whole trip.
The evening tour of Rome was a great way to get an overview of Rome and it's highlight areas. By night it was magical. Matteo was an excellent and knowledgeable guide, and he tailored the tour based on our requests.
I can’t say enough good things about Turtle Tours, and especially about Flavio and Pauline. This wasn’t just a tour—it was a core memory for my family and me. Flavio, a native of Italy, is a gifted storyteller who speaks multiple languages, bringing not only his knowledge but his rich life experience into the tour. From hidden gems in Rome to off-the-beaten-path treasures, he made every moment sparkle. What blew me away even more was that, the next evening, after the tour, we ran into him at a small restaurant by our hotel. He took the time to join us for dinner, and we shared stories like old friends. As a hospitality executive from New York City, I can say this is more than just a tour—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you’re looking for something beyond the ordinary, a true connection, and a memory you’ll treasure forever, I wholeheartedly give Turtle Tours Flavio and Pauline 5 stars. Don’t miss out, you won’t be disappointed!!
The golf cart private tour (we had 4 people) was the way to go!! We skipped the lines on Colosseum entry, and our guide Marcelo was perfect! Great guy, good English, and extremely knowledgeable. No question he could not answer. We really enjoyed the tour, which included The Forum also.
We had the most wonderful tour with Shima. She was so knowledgeable and shared so many interesting facts about Romes history and local places to eat, drink and get gelato. She made our trip so special and made sure we saw everything we asked to see. Rome is so beautiful, but very crowded and the route she made for our tour made us feel like we were driving the back streets of olden times. We would recommend Turtle Tours to everyone and will definitely use them when we return to Rome.
Gein Marco was an excellent guide we learned many different things. He adjusted out tour to some less known places since we had already seen the main attractions. Highly recommend this tour.
John Carlo was amazing! The tour was very informative I highly recommend!
“Biagio was an outstanding guide on our Secret Rome golf cart tour with Turtle Tours. He took us to incredible hidden gems we’d never seen on other tours, sharing fascinating insights with genuine passion. Knowledgeable, personable, and full of energy, he made the experience unforgettable. We can’t recommend him enough—5 out of 5!”
We had an excellent tour with Biagio and Andy. We started and finished the tour with beautiful views of the city from different vistas and got to experience some of the local gems, including the rose garden. The tour of the colosseum was perfect for our children and Barbara kept them engaged and enchanted. We would definitely recommend this tour for families with little kids that want to see a lot of this wonderful city.
Lived this tour!!! Saw so much of the city in just 3 hours!! Emiliano was very knowledgeable about the city and took us to the best places!!
Enjoyable dash through the winding streets of Rome. Excellent and knowledgeable tour guide. We could moderate time at each stop to suit our needs. This is the best way to see all the main sights with a person who can tell the history of the Eternal City and answer any question.
Matthew was the best golf cart guide!! Made the experience wonderful!!
Shims was excellent. She took us to the sites we requested and delivered us to our next stop on time. She was very informative and extremely pleasant as well as knowledgeable.
Warning ⚠️ a little bit of a long review: This was very easy to navigate booking this trip. The communication was very thorough and explanatory about the experience I was receiving. Our tour guide Jeb, was AMAZING. So full of knowledge and history of all the sights we passed by. He was very respectful to my mother's age, for example we went to the Fontana de Trevi, he dropped us off close by so we could take a short walk to see it. And when we went to the Spanish Steps, we stopped at the top, talked about everything we were seeing and then he had us walk down the steps to meet him at the bottom. My mother would never be able to walk up the steps, so we were very grateful for his kindness. Made several other stops to take pictures. Would recommend this to anyone coming to Rome to get a ride around town and get a feel of your surroundings. ☆☆An extra bonus ☆☆ He picked us up and dropped us off at the place were stayed at.
We spent one day in Rome as a part of our cruise itenerary, and chose this tour to get a good overview of the city, due to our limited time there. It proved to be a great choice, and we loved this private tour! It was only me and my daughter (18 years old), and it really felt like a luxury to have a private tour like this. Our guide was Andrea, and he was so friendly and knowledgeable. He adapted the tour to our requests and interest, shared so many facts, and was able to answer all our questions. We will definitely be back to visit this beautiful city, and looking forward to spending more time there.
Martell was AMAZING!! So knowledgeable & pleasurable we felt like we ran into an old friend. If you ever want to learn about the history of Rome, Martell is your guy. Thanks for teaching us about your city.😊
Loved the foodie, 3.5 hour tour. Favio was fabulous, passionate about his city and food. It was great seeing areas of Rome we hadn’t seen before. X
We booked this tour for our first evening in Rome to get an overview of the city. Andrea picked us up at our lodging, he drove us to numerous sites, some of which we would not have had the time to see on our own. He was an excellent tour guide, and he was very informative. We took him up on a few of his suggestions given at the end of the tour.
Andrea, our driver was punctual, arriving at our meeting spot. He listened to what we wanted to see and planned the tour to maximize the time available, whilst adding in hidden gems we were unaware of. He allowed us plenty of time at the stops to take in the view and snap photos. At no time did we feel rushed. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history, and kept it very interesting. A fantastic experience. 🙂
Great tour - Vito was professional so knowledgable and friendly to be with - he made our morning interesting and easy and took the time to find out what our interests were and accomodated accordingly. Would highly recommend
Vito was wonderful, very knowledgeable and we were able to hear him in large groups when discussing history. Professional driver. Easy & convenient way to see a few quick sites.
The tour was excellent and that was largely because of our guide Gian Marco. His knowledge of the city’s history made the tour even more interesting.
Brilliant Tour - relaxed , informative , flexible with the wonderful Gian Marco - a Roman Fountain of knowledge. We did tour with our kids 12 and 10. They loved it as walking not favorite pastime for my 10 YO. Learned so much. Thank you and highly recommend.
We had the pleasure of touring the City of Rome with Paolina. It was such a great pleasure to have her as our guide. With a big smile, she was waiting for us at the hotel on time. She is highly knowledgeable about the history of Rome. She paid attention to our needs and even gave my wife and me time to have time for ourselves. I would recommend booking with Paolina if you want to have a great experience. Paolina, many thanks for being such an excellent guide. Gilles and Donna.
Fantastic way to see the sights in Rome in absolute comfort and a fun way. Our driver/guide Vito was exceptionally competent and tailored our tour to what was of interest to us.
We were picked up at our hotel which was great. Stefano, our guide was knowledgeable, entertaining and fun! He took us to all the places we wanted to see & some that we would never have known about but were fascinating. We asked him if he would be able to take us to a great gelato place and he did! Yummy! Dropped us back at our hotel, even offered to drop us off at the restaurant we had told him we were going for dinner! We are in our 70’s and no way could we have walked around on those rough surfaces on the roads (very few sidewalks) for any length of time. Wonderful way to see the highlights, with so much information and history!
We just finished a fantastic tour. Thank you, Vito. Vito was an enthusiastic guide who did an amazing job of navigating us through the crowds to allow us close up looks at all or the iconic highlights of Rome. Even though it was Easter Sunday we saw all we expected and more with an exceptional narative on the history of the places we visited. We'd do it again tomorrow.
Our guide was Paolina and she was excellent. She met us at our accommodation on time. We visited so many places, Church of St Peter in Chains. I had really wanted to go there as I had read about the statue of Moses by Michelangelo. We also saw The Colosseum,St Angel Castle, Navona Square, The Trevi Fountain, The Spanish steps, St Peter’s Basilica, The Pantheon and more. She was knowledgeable, explained well and a good sense of humour. I really would highly recommend Paolina.
The Tour was Fantastic! A great way to see the highlights in absolute comfort (specially with senior parents ;)) Andrea, out Tour guide made the experience even better with his charm and knowledge!! Will certainly recommend and do it again once back in Rome!
This is the best tour we had while in Rome. Great mix of information and the ability to just relax and take in the sites (this I’d important because after a days tour of the Colosseum kids information intake was done.) Duccio and Matteo were professional and very accommodating. This is a great way to fit in seeing a lot in a little time.
It was lovely to see everything. We were jet lagged from travelling and the flight was delayed. They did so much to accommodate us. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Due to some blocked streets, protests, and police presence some of the tour was creatively made and I was so thankful to him for making sure we saw lots despite alll this. Beautiful city. Great way to see a lot in a short time.
We had Emiliano as our guide and he was absolutely brilliant! We saw so many places during our tour (both touristy and not touristy - places that we would never have known to look for) and having Emiliano to give us all the history and interesting facts was invaluable. He also dropped us at a couple of places giving us superb tips on the best locations to get photos there, and where to stand to see the best views etc... He waited for us ensuring we knew where to get back to and then we went on to the next place. A lovely touch was that he'd made notes (I guess while we were on our stops) of all the places that we had said we may revisit and gave this to us at the end of the tour along with a list of restaurants and other things to do. Absolutely brilliant tour (and we never book tours as like to discover places ourselves) and would not hesitate to recommend and if you can request Emiliano then all the better!
Biaglo drove us and speaks good English and is very knowledgable. He knows how to help you get around fast, it is very time-efficient and good Bang for the Buck. You can plan to go back and take time later. It is interesting at street level too. It is safe for kids or partly disabled, you can walk as much or as little as you want.
Paolina is the best, can't recommend enough! Wonderful information and takes the time to answer any questions and teach you all about the history you may not have known! This is most certainly the best way to experience Roma! Grazie Mille!!
The highlight of our trip! Our guide Ana was incredible. Very knowledgeable and funny. My husband hates tours and he truly enjoyed this one. It was nice to see the city in a golf cart as well. Highly recommend worth every penny!
Emiliano and Stefano were amazing! Tailored our tour to see some of the icons around Rome center, stopped along the way to get out and take pictures as they told us the history.
Highly recommend the Rome Highlights by Golf Cart Tour with Turtle Tours. Our guide, Frederico, loves his adopted city. He was happy to share his extensive knowledge with us but did not bombard us with historical detail that we would not remember. He was able to answer our questions e.g. “Why are the steps Spanish?” and was willing to tailor the itinerary to our interests. The tour gave us an excellent overview of the city we will explore in the next few days and would be an excellent way for people who have limited time or limited walking abilities to experience the highlights of Rome. So pleased we booked this tour.
My sister and I booked the Highlights of Rome golf cart tour and loved it! Gian Marco was the perfect guide - friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. He took us to all the main sights and beautiful viewpoints while teaching us about the history of Rome. It was a great way to start our visit to Rome because it gave us feel for the different areas and there was plenty of time for photos. Definitely recommend!
This was a last minute booking and without a doubt it was the best way for us to see quite a bit of Rome in a relatively small amount of time. We were extremely lucky also that we had an outstanding guide! Gianmarco was very informative and he kept a comfortable leisure pace that we were very pleased with. He took pictures for us, showed us were we could use the bathrooms, and constantly gave us options to deal with the weather, as the temperature began to drop after sunset. We cannot say enough good things about Gianmarco and wish him all the best!
Just back from our 2hr golf buggy tour by night with Andrea, his knowledge of the city was incredible, we would 100% recommend this tour, we got to see so much of the city, and and night it is a different kind of beautiful 😍 first class experience, and has made this trip even more special, thanks again Andrea 🥰
Our guides Francesco and Alex were thorough historians. They arrived on time and ended the tour on time. We were taken to places which otherwise we would not have ever seen. Each place has a story to unfold and was beautifully unfolded by our guides. To add: as they narrated their pride and passion too was evident. The golf cart tour is an exotic experience because you don’t have to either walk or stand in a queue thereby saving you on your time.
Exploring Rome on a golf cart tour was an unforgettable experience! Our guide, Flavio, was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, making the tour both informative and fun. Despite the windy weather, the covered golf cart provided a cozy refuge, allowing us to enjoy the sights without feeling the chill. We zipped through the city's historic streets, marveling at iconic landmarks while Flavio shared fascinating stories. The combination of comfort and adventure made for an enjoyable outing. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore Rome in a unique way!
We had the most excellent introduction to some very important sights in Rome. Excellent for initiation for first timers, and for us who have been here before. Duccio gave us some amazing insights. His professional approach to art and history was inspiring. Thank you!!
Had an absolutely fantastic time on this tour. We booked 2 carts for our family of 4. Our guides Duccio and Riccardo are wonderfully storytellers with great knowledge of the city sights. They are also patient, thoughtful, humorous and most importantly went above and beyond to help us with our requests to find a good lunch place and florist to buy flowers. They brought us to a local restaurant with brilliant pasta, authentic, non-touristy and value for money. Our family had a great and enjoyable time. Thanks Duccio and Riccardo!
Gan Marco was a FANTASTIC tour guide!!! He absolutely made this experience!! He is very, very knowledgeable with historical facts and he was kind and patient when we stopped for photo ops. He was super funny and gave us good recommendations on where to eat. I HIGHLY recommend booking your Turtle Tour with GAN MARCO. You will be so pleased you did!
We did the 2 hour night tour with Federico and it was wonderful! It was a fantastic way to see the city and it's incredibly beautiful all lit up and without the crowds. Federico showed us some great sights and regaled us with its history and fun facts! He also gave us a few tips for good restaurants and gelato shops. We highly recommend this company and tour! Grazie mille
We are just back from the night tour of Rome with Turtle Tours. Our guide was Vito and he was very enthusiastic and informative. I liked that it was semi-customizable. We had seen the Pantheon yesterday so I suggested we skip that and throw in the Triton Fountain instead. At several stops you can get out and take pictures. Even though the Trevi Fountain doesn’t have water in it and has barriers around it while it’s being refurbished, there are clear panels that allow views of it and I still enjoyed seeing it. Also, lots fewer people at 9, 9:30 pm. Dress warmly. Blankets, which were offered on a similar tour in Lisbon a few weeks ago, would have been a nice touch. All in all, I appreciated the overview of the city as we begin to explore it.
