We started off badly because they gave us the wrong meeting point. We spent money on two cabs getting to the correct spot and lost 30 minutes of our tour. The guide was great, but the food options were nothing special.

We had a wonderful food tour with Carlo in Rome! He shared interesting stories about the history of Rome while taking us through different neighborhoods to sample traditional local dishes. Everything was delicious, and we got to try foods we had never tasted before! Some of our favorites were the grilled lamb skewers and pasta carbonara. Carlo was very friendly, easygoing, and made the whole experience enjoyable. We had a great time and would highly recommend Carlo as your food tour guide when visiting Rome!
Last minute we booked a food tour “With locals”. The 10 tastings of Rome! We had a private food tour with Carlo and it was awesome. His English… while not perfect was relatable and soooo much better than our non existent Italian! Carlo was an excellent guide, knowledgeable on food, wine and history. We finished the tour full of food and knowledge. So enjoyable.
What an amazing experience. Our guide was so kind and we had wonderful conversations. We left happy and with full stomachs. Grazie!!
I was stuffed! So much food! Our guide also had extensive knowledge of the Catholic Churches and architecture of the area, so it was extremely interesting besides the obvious food factor. It was a great experience.
Massimo was so amazing at pointing out both food and cultural points along the tour. His information about the food and why it is so important to Rome was incredible. The food was amazing and taking in the beautiful buildings and sights made everything more inspiring and beautiful. Such a wonderful way to spend the night!
This was the highlight of our entire trip to Italy. We not only learned about the culture through food, but Federica gave us tons of information about where to find authentic Roman cuisine. I fully intend to recommend this tour and especially this tour guide to others.
Great time with Mateo on our tour. Very knowledgeable, and took us to the real local places that we were looking to discover. 10/10
Our guide was extremely kind and knowledgeable. However, there was miscommunication about what the tour was. We signed up for a food tour and we had our first taste 75 minutes into the tour. We purposely scheduled this to be interactive for kids (and I shared our ages and intentions for the tour), and given that it was a private tour it seemed like it could be tailored to our family. He is a great guy, but it was not what we signed up for.
Carlo was an incredible guide. Knowledgeable, kind, and gave us a real locals view of the City. Great food, many things we would have never found on our own. Highly recommend!!
Excellent guide. So much information and the food choices were amazing! Great way to start our trip. Carlo was excellent.
Our tour with Gabrielle was great. He was informative, great personality and a lot of fun. We would highly recommend him.
Educational and delicious! Carlo took us around the neighborhood with special spots along the way. Aside from the eateries, he helped explain historical backgrounds of the local area and told us the significance of each specialty dish! Every tasting was much bigger than expected so come with an empty stomache! We are so much by the end we couldn’t even finish, but our guide was nice enough to help eat! Come hungry and leave happy!
This private food tour was an absolute highlight of our time in Rome. The food was incredible—every stop offered something delicious and authentic, and we left completely satisfied (and very full!). Our guide, Rhianne, was fantastic. She was not only knowledgeable about the food and its origins, but also shared great insights into the local history and neighborhoods we explored along the way. It added so much depth to the experience. The tour felt well-paced, personalized, and truly worth the price. If you’re looking for a fun and delicious way to experience Rome, this is a must-do—especially with Rhianne as your guide!
Leonardo was excellent. Very charming and generous with his time, knowledge and expertise. Our tour was on a Sunday afternoon and some of the places we visited were crowded with long lines - not Leonardo’s fault but it would have been nice to have a “fast lane” for tours. The food was excellent and we experienced local cuisine that we would not normally have tried or known about. Honestly not a great value for the money (we did a tour in Genoa that included wine and several waters) but I’m glad we did it and really liked Leonardo.
Elisa was very knowledgeable and we tasted food and walked through areas around that I had not previously visited it was great
Simone was an excellent guide - interesting, knowledgeable, and patient with two super jet lagged customers (us). Despite our low energy levels we had THE BEST day exploring Rome with him. Learned a lot and ate delicious food. Great experience!!
As with any food tour there is a LOT of walking, but there is also a LOT of eating! We had everything from 3 types of pasta to gelato to coffee and cannolis to porchetta to pizza and more! Our guide was great! Informative and funny. Of course, it rained through the entirety of our tour, but that didn’t deter any of us. I highly recommend this tour!
We spent the day with Emannuelle in Rome and it was one of the best experiences of my life so far. Not only is this a tour filled with great food and drink it is a walk through history and Emanuelle knowledge and love for his city makes this experience even better.
This tour included some of the best shops to taste Rome’s culinary delights! The walk was easy and leisurely. We had food to take back for later. Our guide, Frederica, was amazing! She was knowledgeable of the areas, full of recommendations, flexible and very accommodating. Nothing about the tour felt rushed. She was kind enough escort us to two additional locations for us to get cotton candy at Piazza Di Navona and leather goods near the Trevi Fountain. Best tour booked through Viator so far!
Roberto is amazing! By the end of the tour we made a friend in hik. We seriously recommend to any foodies or anyone who wants a honest tour of the food ajd history of Roma!
The food was amazing and so was the guide! She did so well explaining the neighborhood and the types of food. Would highly recommend.
Went in the past with a guy called Massimo. This tour was the worst tour we have ever made and we took a LOT of tours incl a Lot of food tours. The tour lasted 2 hours rather than the expected 3 hours. Both the food provided and the explanations were very subpar for both of us. In addition, one of us had dietary restrictions and was told simply not to eat what he cannot eat. The other didn't have any restrictions and his selection was still very minimal.
Paola is a very passionate Roman. She shared her knowledge of the culture and Burroughs we toured. The food tastings were delicious but if I'm comparing to other food tours this was lacking.
Our tour guide did an amazing job!!!! We absolutely loved him. I did expect to taste more wine but overall it was our favorite. Amandio was excellent!
This was a great experience to get a better understanding of Italian street food. Our guide was friendly and helpful. I recommend but the price was high for the food provided.
Francesca was absolutely wonderful. Her knowledge of Rome, its food, culture and art was incredible and we learned so much while tasting a wide range of tasty foods.
Our private food tour of Rome with Emanuele was wonderful. Our guide was extremely friendly and informative. It was not only a food tasting tour it was also a historical tour. We got to see many of the Rome sights and eat along the way. Highly recommend Emanuele and WithLocals group. This was great way to start our visit to Rome after a long flight.
Our tour guide never showed up and we waited at meeting point for 45 minutes. Evening dinner plans ruined.
It wasn’t just a food tour, our guide was very informative about the history of Rome. We recommend this tour to all travelers!
Romain was amazing! Everything we tasted was delicious and things that we wouldn’t have found on our own. He was also super flexible and accommodating - I’m pregnant so couldn’t eat certain things and had to take lots of breaks. He rolled with the lunches and was a great time!
Decided to tackle jet lag by taking a walking tour. Our tour guide, Thomas, was amazing! He gave us a great overview of the Campo di Fiori area and took us to some great places to eat. It was a very personalized tour. He reached out prior to the tour to see if there was anything specific we’d like to see or eat. 10/10, highly recommend , would take a tour with him again.
The food was very good and plentiful. Our guide took us too many local places. We enjoyed our walk around the community as she pointed out points of interest.
Simone was great and full of food/city knowledge. You try little bites in a handful of places that are really cool.
Couldn’t find the guide for several minutes for the lack of professionalism in contact and dress. Couldn’t understand almost anything the guide was telling us and almost every question we asked was met with an answer to a completely different question. I have a culinary background and a baking and pastry degree and I couldn’t get any information from our guide about many of the items we ate. On top of that, the order to eating was all screwed up. Pasta to start then coffee and dessert then back to savory street food that apparently can’t be cut with a knife and were forced to eat after each other without the use of tools or flatware. For more than $150 per person in its less than $30 per person worth of actual food and a guide that couldn’t be understood nor understood anything I asked about. We did get to see some nice churches and a few hidden gems on architecture and history but since it was a “Walking Food Tour” and not a “Visit old Places Tour” it was extremely underwhelming. At the third (and last) location to taste food, we were told that the one item we had couldn’t be cut into anything smaller and that no knife existed that was capable of cutting a sandwich in half and so I went out and found a fork and cut it myself. I was told outright by our guide that I wasn’t supposed to put cheese on something only after they watched in silence as we put on the cheese. So many things I was told was a requirement and all of which severely disappointed me in freshness, flavor, and taste. Overall, I was say it was one of the worst tours I’ve ever taken and by far the absolutely worst food tour or Viator Tour I have ever been on. So much so that I will book another Viator Tour again. A complete and total waste of money and time. Don’t do tour unless you get someone that knows your language at least half as well as you do.
Federica was a fantastic guide. This tour really let us find areas of Rome we had never seen and get a flavour of local food. She has amazing insights and a great character.
Our small group tour was excellent. Our guide was a native of Rome and selected restaurants with delicious foods and drinks to try. She also made recommendations for local attractions and hotspots to visit. We selected the six tastings and it was perfect for us. We were full at the end! Our family loves food tours and this one was terrific.
This tour entails a lot of walking and a lot of eating. Our guide, Matteo, took us to a lot of places we would never have found on our own. The tour covers a huge range of food - unique Roman pizzas, supplis, fried stuffed olives, fried artichokes, pastries, gelato, and a final stop for espresso. All of the food was delicious. Matteo was a charming host who clearly enjoys sharing the cuisine of Rome with visitors. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour.
We ended up missing the tour due to a flight delay, but let our guide know and he brought to our hotel all the food items from the tour. Everything was delicious! Thank you Andrea!
Had an excellent time and learned a lot about the city. Daniele was very accommodating and was a great guide
It was lack luster. Tasted six very local places that were okay. The tour was boring. Tour guide nice but unprofessional, ate gelato while giving us our tour. Tour schedule was 2 hours done within an hour. Would not recommend.
Massimillano was an amazing guide- the whole thing was well thought out and incredible! He was wonderful with my kids as well as keeping it interesting for my husband and I! It was for sure a highlight of the trip!!
Great way to explore Rome. Thomas our guide, took us into neighboring churches along the way. We also visited the Colliseum.
The food was delicious! Our tour guide, Amandio, was knowledgeable and very personable. He engaged my two teenage sons effortlessly. I highly recommend this tour!
Sara was perfect! Her knowledge of local foods, traditions and local history made the whole afternoon a memorable and wonderful day. I would highly recommend Sara for any tours in Rome!
We had the most amazing time!! It was our favorite thing we did in Rome for our honeymoon!! Would do it again
I would recommend Francesca, specifically, if you want to do a food tour in Rome. It was especially helpful for us as first time visitors to Rome. Meeting spot was great, food variety worked really well for us, and it’s exactly what we needed as an introduction to local Roman and Italian food. Francesca‘s knowledge of food and her relationships at the market and different restaurants made the tour feel like it was a lot more than just showing us spots and dishes to order, but a great time learning about history, culture, and the nuances of local food. Conversation was great, she was so easy to be with for three hours, and she even gave us some incredible recommendations after the tour for other spots we could explore. Favorite stops were food tasting in the market, the most amazing pizza, and a spot with fresh suppli. Almost forgot the gelato! Now that I think about it, everything was pretty amazing! Francesca gets a 10 out of 10 from us!
Great walking food tour around Rome, Francesca was so knowledgeable and helpful and we had the best time with her trying so many delicious local foods.
Gabriel was fantastic. Such a lovely, knowledgeable guy. We were able to learn so much about the history of the area as well as try delicious food. Gabriel was also really helpful with recommendations for restaurants/ bars in the area. High recommended!
Very thorough and learned a lot about Italian culture and history. Your guide was knowledgeable about the history. We would strongly recommend this tour to other people.
