This tour was the highlight of our time in Rome. The photographer guide was very knowledgeable, patient, and an excellent teacher. As a serious amateur photographer, I appreciated his directions and learned a great deal even after years of photography tours with other companies. The locations were perfect and I left with wonderful additions to my portfolio. My companion friend was a beginning photographer and was exceedingly pleased with the private attention and instruction he gave her during the evening. She too left with excellent night time photos of Rome. I can’t recommend this tour enough. I hope to return to Rome for an encore in the near future.

From start to finish, this was a perfect night in Rome! Marco was amazing! His knowledge of photography was extensive. He gave fantastic tips and suggestions for composition that I have already used since then. He was so friendly and fun to be around. I would have missed half of the places we photographed had he not been there. He was flexible and even added a few extra stops, including gelato on request! Absolutely do not hesitate to book this tour. You will learn so much, and spend time with a new friend. Book it!
Fantastic night with Marco. His passion for photography shows and he is willing to give advice on the art of photography during this tour. He has a well planned route and will ensure you get some great photos. If you want some great night photos in Rome this is a great way to do it.
Marco is so so good. He guides you to the best spots to get amazing photos and helps you compose a beautiful picture. He also instills his love of photography in you and you see the world a little differently. He is also so kind and fun. I look forward to another photography session with Marco when I am back in ROme.
Marco is a terrific photography guide. He has lived in Rome his entire life, so knows where to shoot the popular attractions from, but better- he knows spots tourists would not think of. Rome is amazing and so much more beautiful at night (and much less crowded)- so this is the tour to take. Marco is also a long-time photography teacher and loves to engage to help improve your photography skills. I was lucky enough to have him 1-1 (no others signed up for the tour, which is limited to 4), so I got real focus and guidance from him. Bottom line- whether you simply want someone to show you the perfect spots in Rome or someone who can help you through camera setup and composition, Marco is your man.
This tour was a fantastic way to see some of the sights in Rome and to learn photography techniques. Marco was obviously very knowledgeable about photography and knew the best places to view the city at night. With his help, I was able to capture some great nighttime images of Rome. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone who is interested in photography!
Marco was very accommodating of how tired and hungry we were after we went on a 3 hour tour of the Vatican Museums and a 3 hour Colosseum tour. He was very knowledgeable of how to take excellent photographs. He turned us into photography enthusiasts!
I had a wonderful night of photography with Marco. He is very knowledgeable about his art and concentrates on the individual photographer’s needs. Highly recommended!
Marco was so patient with teaching photography to our group. We got some amazing pictures with his help. Thank you, Marco!
The night tour was fantastic....! Marco is an incredible photographer with an artistic eye. He identified wonderful scenes that most would overlook, and I learned a lot more about composition from him. I would recommend this tour to any photographer on any level...!
Marco is an excellent photographer and teacher. He made this a wonderful learning experience and took us to locations to shoot from the best vantage points at the magical blue hours of the evening. I was shooting with my iPhone and not a professional camera, but still learned a lot and was very pleased with the results. He’s super nice guy and dropped us off at our hotels after. Highly recommend!
This tour was fantastic. Luca was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I had a great time, learned a lot and got some amazing photos.
Marco was gracious and knowledgeable. He had great pointers on framing the subject, and camera settings for night photography. A tripod is a must.
Such a fun and insightful tour! Marco provided thoughtful and helpful tips and made sure everyone on the tour got the shot before moving on. It was also a really great value – Marco provided transport back to where we were staying, which, in Rome was a clutch added bonus. He's a super knowledgeable and friendly dude.
This was an incredible experience. We had the good fortune of having Marco as our guide. He was fun, kind, accommodating, and interesting to visit as we toured several of Rome's main historical sites. Marco patiently guided us through the process of taking some extraordinary photos.
The highlight of my trip to Rome. Night photography of the iconic tourist sites. The guide is one of the best photographers I have worked with. He has an itinerary of the best sites and dinner at the best pizza shop in Rome (in my opinion). Knowledgeable and happy to pass on his vast experience and knowledge.
Marco was an absolute pleasure to work with, and was incredibly knowledgeable both about photography and about the subjects we were shooting. From the start, Marco’s passion for photography was clear. He explained his philosophy on photography which (as a non-photographer) I still found incredible and a great lesson. I had purchased this as a gift for my brother who was the one shooting, but Marco was happy to show me some tips to get the best shots on my iPhone too. Marco went above and beyond in helping us try to find the perfect shots. He even went as far as to move a construction fence to allow us to get the perfect shots of Castillo Sant Angelo. We did the trip in early November 2024 so we were lucky enough to have a private tour with just us two and Marco. I have no doubt that even if we had others with our group, Marco would still have been just as incredible to work with. I can not recommend this experience enough for anyone interested in capturing photos that could hang on your walls for years to come. Truly an incredible night with an wonderfully talented and helpful guide.
Marco was amazing. His photography knowledge was superb and he helped us understand the photographic concepts we were dealing with. Highly recommend even for the budding photographer.
This was a wonderful experience, l am only a novice when it comes to photography, so l was a bit nervous, but so excited at the same time. l was welcomed into a friendly environment, where instructions were explained in terms that were easy to understand. Coming from Australia, this was also something that l was worried about, but after taking our first lot of photos, it was clear to see l was in good hands.
Marco was great. He knew all the right spots. We started with views at St Peters at sunset. And ended at the Forum. He was very patient with a novice photographer. We got wonderful pictures with camera and iPhone.
The guide was exceptional. His knowledge of photography and the best photo locations in Rome made this tour my favorite of any I have made in my travels. I would recommend this tour to anyone of any photography level. The guide will help you to get the most out of your time in Rome giving you a once in a lifetime memory and photos to remember those memories!
Marco was a kind, patient instructor who knew all the best locations around the city. He helped me understand my camera, loaned me his tri-pod and helped me capture stunning images.
Marco was awesome and very experienced! My wife and I did not have professional cameras and just used our iphone/android cameras in Marco's special spots. We were noobies compared to our other group member but we were still able to learn a lot and capture some amazing views. Whether you are experienced in photography or not, this night tour amazing since there weren't as many people around. It helped us enjoy our collosseum tour the next day since we didn't have to take as many photos!
A great experience and communication from our guide. He provided great tips on composition, lighting, depth of field, rule of thirds and other key concepts. We walked and drove to some very photogenic spots and Marco provided individual attention to make sure that everyone was able to capture some extraordinary shots.
If you book for midsummer the tour starts at 8:45 and went to 1 am, just for planning purposes as you need it to be dark for night photos. We learned a lot about our cameras. I felt those with iPhones were a bit bored as we spent so much time at each stop. We didn’t go to the colesseum which was disappointing as our group and the other half had both asked about it, and we were near it. Marco is very passionate about photography and gave us lots of lessons. I felt sometimes he focused a bit more on us listening than letting us take the photo and experiment to learn ourselves. But overall we had a fun, long night. We are continuing to use these photo tips as we continue our journey in Europe!
If you do a night tour, bring insect repellent and a light source. If you use your cell phone for pictures, it’s inconvenient to also use it for your pictures. You are taken to many dark sidewalks with no/little lighting. The description is false advertising. We said one of our priorities was the Trevi Fountain, and he wouldn’t take us because it wasn’t interesting enough. His profile is correct. He is a professional photographer and is not interested in making the customer happy with their significant purchase of a 4-5 hour primarily walking tour late at night in Rome. There were severe dangerous locations to be in with a small group of two with a stranger.
The guide was amazing. He was a professional photographer and had great tips and tricks to take fabulous pictures. He was very patient with as we were learning how to use the settings on our cell phone. We visited many iconic spots in Rome and learned a lot.
Amazing tour by Marco! He is a great expert and awesome teacher giving me helpful advice. He took me to many lovely foto spots in Rome and explained composition, technique and how to create a story with a picture.
Marco was a great teacher, we went to a very nice spots to take a amazing pictures. Also, helped me with my cell phone, he brought me his tripod and I believe I took better sharp pictures.
Unique perspective of Rome. I´ve been to Rome several times, but never seen it at night. Marco was a good teacher and we learnt a lot about composition, perspective, camera techniques, and what not to do.
Marco guided me around Rome finding hidden gem destinations. I booked this specific small group program in advance because I am interested in landscape photography. And Marco has been a widely acclaimed and experienced professional. As a tourist first time in Rome, this is a fantastic tour enjoying the night scens! As amateur in photography, I know I am in the right hands! During the tour, Marco demonstrated tips for night photography according to various conditions. More over, the magic about composition of the photo! Marco guided me step by step for choosing the particular site, elements, settings of camera. He also shared how to master photography schedule and notes (like sunset time, directions of the sun). Tourists like me might pass through those attractions in the day, but the night scene is even much more fascinating and less crowded. The 4 hour tour with master and a friend like Marco is the best part of my stay in Rome. He's been super helpful and considerate. Thank you, Marco!
I really enjoyed this tour with Marco Bulgarelli. This tour is for all photographers at all skill levels. Marco provides excellent instruction based on your abilities as a photographer. His tour is carefully planned out with a sequence of sites that are both remarkable as well as memorable. Some of these sites are off the normal tourist path and would be difficult to find. I came back with a wonderful set of nighttime photographs as well as learning some new techniques both in the camera as well as post processing. This was an amazing night of walking around Rome and talking about how to take my photography to the next level. Marco does a great job focusing on instruction and composition. I learned a lot and I am at an advanced level of photography. I find these types of tours to be very beneficial to me because I get to meet other photographers in other places who are passionate about sharing their skills and techniques as well as providing advice. The next time I am in Rome, I will definitely book another tour with Marco.
It was amazing to learn techniques and have constructive criticism from one of the best photographers in Italy, in my opinion. Marco was so patient with the small group of us and treated everyone’s photo abilities with a lot of respect. He is a superb instructor and this was the highlight of my trip. Grazie mille Marco!
This is one of the highlights of our time in Rome! Marco is so knowledgeable and patient...we used his tips and advice throughout the rest of our two week trip. My husband wasn't even trying, but picked up on so much and it made the rest of his trip pictures (and mine) so much better! We really enjoyed being in Rome at night, more peaceful, less crowded and relaxing! I used my iPhone and the other traveler used her SLR camera...Marco had help for us both! I highly recommend and will look for things like this in other cities and places we go!
This tour was amazing! Marco provided a ton of knowledge from his years of experience. He also took me to the best locations for night photography in Rome. I was able to make so many outstanding photos on this tour with Marco’s guidance.
Marco was wonderful. He took us to amazing sites and helped capture beautiful and meaning memories thru the lens. Highly recommend Marco!!!
Great time with Marco, very knowledgeable. Four hour photo tour, even with an iPhone he gave me several tips and tricks. Highly recommend.
Marco was an excellent teacher and spending an evening walking the streets was well worth it. We were able to take evening photos of many historical sites and given excellent compositional advice. Very friendly, accessible and helpful. A+
I’m so glad I booked this tour while on my solo business trip in Rome. I was concerned about the heat during the day and how that would impact my ability to visit all the historic sites. This tour was a godsend! Not only did I get to explore sites (and sights) I may have never seen, I got to do it with the vision of a master photographer, Marco, who genuinely emanates the love of photography. Originally I wasn’t sure if I could participate because I wasn’t going to be bringing my Nikon, only my iPhone (much easier to travel with) but Marco completely welcomed that AND lent me his tripod the entire night, which made an absolute difference in helping me capture some of the most breathtaking photos of Roma at night. They look like magazine shots. I’m so impressed and cannot recommend this tour enough! You’ll have a magical and fun night because alongside the beauty of the city, Marco is such a friendly and helpful guide.
What a magical evening seeing Rome both lit up and in shadows. Marco did an excellent job helping me get the best photos from my iPhone (I didn’t know that it had this capability). Marco knew all the spots to get the most interesting photos and provided the coaching to capture magnificent photos. He also offered thoughtful dialogue and historical context. Please note this is primarily a walking tour so you also can take in the sights, sounds, and aromas from local shops and outdoor venues. Highly recommend!
I am glad that I booked this photo tour. Marco was great and helped me a lot in taking nice shots. He knew all the good picture spots. He was patient and gave lots of tips that I used later in my trip and had great pictures. Thank you Marco!
Marco was great. He took our group to several great places we would never have found in our own, placed us in the best spots for the right composition, and helped us dial in our settings to pin sharp photos. He made sure everyone was taken care of no matter our ability or skill level. It’s a great tour given by a very friendly and helpful guide who has a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm for Rome and for photography. Best photo tour I’ve been on! I learned this I’ll use for the rest of my life.
Wonderful experience. I am a knowledgeable amateur photographer and am grateful to Marco for taking us to the perfect spots to capture gorgeous night shots and for his spot on photographic suggestions. Marco’s breadth of experience is such an asset. Highly recommend this photo tour. I have gorgeous night photos of Rome after taking this tour.
Very good experience- Marco was great, and was able to share a lot of tips and wisdom that helped me take better pictures. He took us to a few untapped places, which was very much appreciated. He brought an extra tripod as well, and helped us navigate from one location to another. I do wish that I'd asked about other locations I could have gone to on my own- my fault. There's just so much to see, and our long session went by too quickly. Prospective clients should also know that it's a walking tour for almost all of it- if you're not up for toting your gear around a bit, and hoofing from site to site, this tour may not be a match. Some of our group couldn't move too quickly, so we were less efficient than we otherwise could have been.
This was an excellent tour. The primary purpose was to take night photos, and the tour guide exceeded expectations in that regard. He not only took us two familiar sites, but also took us to areas that we never would’ve found on our own to get a unique perspective for the photos. Great tour, great tour guide!
Marco is great. very knowledgeable about photography and where to go to get great photos. highly recommended
Marco was great. It took to the 3rs shot to get a “good job”. He stresses composition. This is a win for anyone that wants to learn. Kevin Rimel Corona CA
My husband and I spent a day in Tuscany with Marco. We liked him so much we also hired him for this 4-hour night photo tour. He is professional, patient, friendly, funny and a very good teacher. He easily adapts his coaching to the level of knowledge of the participants (me not being a photographer at all, but still enjoying it). Marco not only knows photography, but he knows Rome. I expected to be taken to all the touristique spots - no! This is all about photography, not roman history (well, he knows a lot about that too :)). He took us to wonderful spots we would not have found on our own, and taught us night time photo techniques that turned out great. Thanks again Marco, it was a pleasure!
Marco Really made this tour exceptional. The right balance between history of the city, some photo technic feedback and great unusual point of views on many fantastic sites. Gracie marco.
4 hours with Marco is priceless. You see Rome through the eyes of a local. He's a master of perspective, composition, and lighting. Time flows like spending an evening with a friend. But this friend happens to be an amazing photographer with a passion to teach his art. He changed the way my son and I look at the world around us and they way we use a camera. It was a privilege.
