Rome Highlights Private Day Tour By Mercedes Minivan

We had an incredible day in Rome! I’m still amazed we were able to fit in so much on such short notice. We booked a last-minute tour with Rolondo’s Airport Transfer Day Tours, and I’m so glad we did—my sister had a bucket list of the Vatican, the Sistine Chapel, the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, and the Spanish Steps… and somehow, everything actually happened! The highlight for her was absolutely the Sistine Chapel—seeing it in person was unforgettable. We also got to enjoy the Vatican in a way that felt smooth, well-timed, and totally worth it. And yes—we still made it to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Steps without feeling rushed or chaotic. Best of all - the tickets. Multiple locations showed that the popular tickets were sold out, but Rolondo made miracles happen for our large group. It seriously felt like the perfect timing and the perfect planning. If you’re thinking about Rome and want a fun, exciting, “we actually did everything!” kind of day—do yourself a favor and book Rolondo’s Airport Transfer Day Tours. Five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was supposed to be a private van tour for 8 hours, but the driver only expected to drive us from one point to another point and drop us off for 30 to 60 minutes at a time. Less than two hours into the tour he complained multiple times that we did not get out of the van enough and that he was tired driving so much. He actually jammed on his brakes hard to show us that he was not pleased. One of our family members had trouble walking long distance. The driver kept telling us that the tour was not wheelchair accessible, but we did not have a wheelchair with us. Our sole reason for booking an expensive private van tour was the flexibility. The descriptions of the tour did not mention that we must get out of the van at all the stops. Some of us got out at some stops, but the driver was clearly not happy that he had to keep the vehicle running for the remaining members of the family. We ended up taking a break at a cafe for almost two hours rather than dealing with him. I would consider the tour listing to be false advertising because it was really not a private tour but a transport in between points. The driver was neither flexible nor willing to accommodate us. We ended the tour at least two hours early. It was overall a pretty bad experience. The driver clearly expected to drive only 2 hours or so during the 8 hours tour. The tour operator needs to correct the listing to include the maximum amount of time that the driver is willing to drive and the amount of breaks that he expects to get out of the time of the tour. If the tour operator expects his passengers to get out at each stop and spend a certain amount of time at a given stop, that information needs to be included in the descriptions. I would not recommend this tour operator.

Great time in Rome. Our guide was fantastic and share so many fascinating historical details that we never would have learned on our own.

Our tour guide Italo was amazing! Viator, however did not disclose an additional 120 euros when we were picked up at the port. I was told by the Viator representative that the amount charged at the time was the total amount for the excursion. When I called to discuss they were not helpful and said that’s the policy. I took too prior excursions booked through them the same week, there were no added port charges to them.

This was a jam packed private tour of Rome with Rolando. He was very knowledgeable about the various historical attractions. Apart from being a great tour guide, he is a great driver, navigating tight streets of Rome with no problem. He also has the inside tips on where to get tickets and areas to avoid. And most importantly, he was able to get us back to our cruise ship in time with no issues. Overall, a great excursion and would recommend if you are in Rome.

Ronaldo was excellent. He was very informative. He was on time. He’s more than courteous and I would absolutely recommend him to anybody.

Rolando set up a great tour. We ended up throwing him off a bit though when we’d seen some places ahead of time so he quickly improvised & took us to new ones! It was fantastic! Went to a more local than tourist spot for lunch, fabulous!

Rolando provided us an exceptional private one day tour of Rome’s beautiful highlights. He customized the tour for our group of four. His Mercedes van was very comfortable and clean. Rolando did a great job of explaining the city. Very knowledgeable driver and got us to our destinations. He went out of his way to get us to the sites. His recommendation for lunch was excellent. Marco (our driver) was fabulous! He gave us a history of the landmark before arriving so we knew a lot about what we were seeing.

Our driver (Ronaldo) was very friendly and knowledgeable. We covered so much ground with him! We booked the 5 hour tour because we had already seen St. Peter’s Basilica the day before and were planning on seeing the Colosseum the following day. If you don’t have plans already to see both, I’d highly recommend booking the 8 hour tour. The lines for both those places are VERY long and you can’t really get through them in the estimated time on the suggested itinerary. The vehicle was clean and quite comfortable.

Our tour guide was amazing. My husband and I got to see everything we wanted and our guide patiently waited for us as we explored. Our guide was able to even get us to a place where we were able to see the Pope on a Sunday. We enjoyed WiFi and water and got to see it all in 8 hours.

Rolando was great! Very punctual, courteous and helpful. We were referred to him by a family member who had taken a tour with him earlier this year. We toured the highlights of Rome with a multigenerational family, and everyone enjoyed the tour. It was raining and Rolando suggested the catacombs, which we did not have in our initial wishlist. I can’t imagine coming to Rome and not seeing them. I would definitely recommend Rolando to anyone looking to do a private tour.

The only way to see Rome in a day! Rolando picked us up at our NCL ship and drove us to all the places we requested plus a few of his ‘gems’! We ate lunch at the restaurant he suggested (outstanding food, service and ambience). He in very knowledgeable and accommodating- highly recommends his service!

Our driver was well informed with the city, its history, and the sights. He provided us with drop off and pick up locations very close to the sights, provided us with a brief history, and was pleasant to ride with and very funny! Would recommend if it is your first time to Rome as a better alternative of the hop on and hop off tour bus if it fits within budget.

Communication before the tour was great. We were picked up at the cruise port and were dropped off at out airport hotel (extra transport arranged in advance). From pick up to drop off this tour was amazing. Driver was polite and entertaining as well as intent on making sure that we saw the sites that we wanted to see. We were dropped off at the best sites for photos and could spend a decent amount of time at the major sites. We had no problems locating the vehicle after each as communication was great! Vehicle had WiFi and we were offered water throughout. We would recommend this company and this tour!!

We just returned from Rome, where we chose Roland's airport transfer. We were very pleased, they was punctual and the car was very nice and clean. Also, we chose them for a tour in order to visit the main attractions of Rome. Roland, the driver, is a very nice person, he told us about the place history and he took great pictures of us. Also, he gave us some tips, where can we eat the best pizza and "gelato" in Rome. They made our journey vrey nice and easy!

Just back from a Mediterranean cruise and had prearranged each stop in Italy with Rolando and his staff, and all I can say is WOW! Rolando took personal pride in making sure everything went as expected. The tours were well thought out, and flexible, while at the same time making sure we skipped the long lines. My whole family (6 of us) felt as if an old family friend was in charge. I cannot recommend Rolando enough and remember to ask him to sing for you!! Thanks Rolando !!
