Rome Highlights By Vespa Private Guided Tour

The "Flash" 1 hour tour took us by the Colosseum, Circus Maximus a beautiful overlook of the city, and several other monuments/sights. No Trevi fountain, nor the Spanish steps, not enough time. Drivers Flavio and Claudio were fantastic.

This was a 2.5 hour trip around the sights of Rome on the back of a chauffer driven vespa with my wife and another couple who are our friends. Mario and his team made us feel welcome and safe the whole time. We toured the city stopping off at sights where Mario explained the history and culture with charm, humour and wit. This was without doubt the highlight of our stay in Rome. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mario for any of your tour guide needs and this Vespa experience in particular was awesome.

Viator had made a mistake with this booking and we thought the tour was 2.5 hours, however it was actually only one hour. The tour guides were very accommodating and had space for us to take 2.5 hours and gave us a slight discount because of the muddle up, which we were happy with. It was really good fun (I had my 16 yr old son with me) and the guides were extremely informative and took care of our needs. I was disappointed we didn't go into Vatican City, but that may be down to regulations.. Overall I highly recommend this company! Thank you for the best tour we had during our time in Rome...

It was lovely from start to finish. Mario was a breath of fresh air, he was very informative and did an amazing job taking photos! Very coordinated and all of the photos were amazing! Highly recommended.

Have a real Roman Holiday like Audrey Hepburn! This was the best way to see the wonderful sights of Rome. Exhilarating too, as you zip around the main roads and the many mazes of side-streets. My driver Mario was brilliant, a powerhouse of knowledge and no matter where we stopped, everyone knew him. He also took me off the beaten track, to see parts of Rome you might not usually see, like the hidden backstreets of Trastevere. He also negotiated my gift buying prices from market vendors, saving me a fortune. Walking around Rome is magical, but whizzing safely around Rome makes you feel alive. I can't recommend it enough.

Riding Through Rome, EUR to Ostia — A Rome Day I’ll Always Remember We kicked off our ride through the streets of Rome, then on to EUR, Roman rationalism personified — the monumental buildings, clean geometry, and the striking “Square Colosseum” all made for an unforgettable opener. From there, we scooted on to Ostia, where old-stones meet sea breeze. Wandering the the small historic center and castle then walking along the shore having a fabulous local lunch, it all came together beautifully. Riding on the back of a scooter gave the whole experience a rush. I always felt safe thanks to our guides/drivers, Mario & Fabio, but also wildly alive — catching glimpses of history. Highlight moments: • EUR’s architecture: bold, clean, modern yet echoing ancient Rome. • Ostia Antica: ruins that tell stories, views walking by the water. • Feeling safe, well taken care of, free to enjoy every detail. Would I recommend it? Hundred percent yes. If you want off-beat, unforgettable, a mix of modern, history, sea, and adventure — this ride delivers. If we stayed in Rome longer we would have loved to do the city tour as well. Mario & Fabio were fabulous guides!

The best of the best in Rome, did a Vespa tour with Mario, he showed me so many places, especially the part of the soldier training, really open my eyes, also the Italian “Coke “ is my favourite Coca Cola now 😅 No matter you are solo traveler or with friends/ family Go with Mario, he is super Mario !

My wife and I had the most amazing time on our private Vespa tour with Luigi. From start to finish, it was a true highlight of our trip! Picture this: zipping through the streets of Rome on Vespas like you’re in a cool Italian film, all while learning Rome’s secrets from the one and only Super Mario—who is basically a walking, talking encyclopedia of Roman history (and a pretty entertaining one at that). But wait, it gets better! Mario and Fabio—these two brothers are like the dynamic duo of Rome tours. Their bond is so genuine, interesting and cheeky. Pure warmth and charm. Their kindness and thoughtfulness totally elevated the whole experience, making it feel like we weren’t just tourists, but friends - at least on our end, as we couldn’t get them to admit we were their favorite tour… true professionals! We told them we weren’t into the touristy stuff and they took us to hidden gems in Rome. If your tour goes into the afternoon, ask to see the canon! Also they picked us up at where we were staying and dropped us off at whatever location we wanted, which was lovely and convenient. Plus suggested my fave restaurant of the trip called Sora Margherita in Trastevere (order the Oxtail). Lastly, read their PDF beforehand. I made the grave error to not and surely missed out on other amazing recommendations. It’s been a week since this unforgettable day, and I’m not even ashamed to admit it—I miss Fabio. Wow what a lovely trip we had out today with Mario and Max and there lovely Vespa scooters. We got to see so much of Rome that we never even knew about it was like a history lesson on a scooter with lots of lovely pictures. The short file we were sent afterwards which mapped out our journey with some pictures along the way was a bonus we were not expecting. It was great we could send this to our friends and family who have now shared our experience. We stopped off and got to try a granita coffee which I would have never ordered myself but I absolutely loved it, local knowledge is key! Thank you Mario & Max for a great day out !

Mario was absolutely amazing! One of the best guides I’ve had in Europe. This was my second time in Rome and I visited all of the main attractions. I informed him about this and he took me to spots I didn’t even know of (even with the help of TripAdvisor lol). I went during the afternoon and hit sunset on these rides. Truly, I saw the “magic” of Rome through the eyes of a local. He gave fantastic recommendations and amazing gelato spot! He also took photos and was very courteous and respectful. As a female solo traveler, it’s always refreshing to find this! When I return to Rome, I have no doubt I’ll seek out his services again. They also offer other types tours. Inspired by the iconic Lizzy McGuire movie, my partner and I embarked onto the famous vespa ride around Rome. We are in our late 20s and we figured that a little bit of adrenaline would wrap up our trip around the city. Little we knew how wholesome the trip would be! To say that we were speechless after the ride is both a literal statement and an understatement. Every single aspect of the vespa ride with Mario surpassed my high expectations. After all, my desire to ride the vespa stemmed from a longstanding dream to experience the magic that Lizzy McGuire felt in a movie that marked my childhood. So the expectations were high and they were rightfully surpassed. Mario truly makes the whole ride magical. He showcases the best of Rome with funny remarks, exciting preambles prior to breathtaking views, and historical comments that ultimately add up to an experience that turned whatever you can possibly imagine a vespa ride around Rome can be into a literally magical experience. There are many options in Rome to go on a vespa ride and I have no doubt that riding with Mario is the very best option you can ever take. It’s customizable (he dropped us off at the Vatican City at our request by the end of the trip), something for all ages, and you will feel like you genuinely know Rome by the end of the trip. It’s a unimaginable dream come true.

This is the way to tour Rome! Small customize tours of the city. We absolutely loved it so we booked it again for my sister and her husband the next day. Mario and Maximus were lovely tour guides. For someone who is generally very nervous in and around traffic, I felt very safe on this Vespa ride as a passenger.

I had the BEST time! Everyone should tour Rome on a Vespa. Mario is an excellent & friendly guide showing me atypical highlights & viewpoints of Rome & the Basilica and telling me the history and quirks of certain buildings & areas. On top of that he would kindly take photos which is much appreciated when one is solo. This was definitely the highlight of my trip and is one of the best tours I’ve ever gone on!

I got to drive a Vespa in Roma! Also our tour guide customized our tour for us based on things we had already seen. Loved driving up the hills of Rome to get great pictures of the Vatican and other sites. Seeing the ruins of the ancient baths was something we would have never gotten to see. THE VESPAS 🛵💨💨!!! This was the last thing we did in Rome, and I can’t imagine a more dreamy adventure at the end of the most magical trip. Mario (from our Segway tour) was our guide again, and he brought his friend Alexander. They picked us up from the Colosseum and off we went. I wouldn’t recommend doing Vespas any other way, than on the back of an experienced tour guide driving it for you. We got to be carefree and live in the dream land of riding Vespas 🛵🛵💨 in Rome 🇮🇹, like kids in a candy 🍭 store 🤤🤯! The secret spots, things they showed us, culture they taught, and local spots were PRICELESS on this night and things a guidebook could never replace. We just kept winding through streets, across bridges, and as the sun set I felt like we were in a literal dream. I’ve never felt so free in my entire life. My dress and hair whipping in the wind, Sean on the Vespa 🛵💨💨 in front of me, and our new Italian friends leading the way. Rome 🇮🇹 I ❤️ YOU, and I can’t wait to come back again soon!

Mario is phenomenal. Full stop. I’ve been fortunate to travel to a variety of countries with the help of wonderful guides, but Mario is by far the most knowledgeable and personable guide I’ve encountered. I told him that I would love to get off the beaten path, and he took me on a country route that included multiple stops (including for gelato at a local spot and an Italian soda at a market)! This tour made me feel like a local - I cannot recommend the experience and Mario’s expertise enough! It was the best thing I’ve done on my trip. (Thanks again, Mario!)

We loved every moment on our Vespa tour, Mario & Marta made us feel very safe and took us on such a unique tour that felt like a real day in Rome. From the ancient highway to the fresh springs to the cookies from innocenti in Trastevere, we had the best time. Also loved that Mario & Marta took photos of us so we could really just focus on the tour and be present in the moment. Plus was so fun to see the photos at the end!

I booked a vespar tour on the recommendation of a friend and I could not recommend it highly enough myself. Mario was the most fabulous tour guide. I felt safe and completely connected to his stories and knowledge of Rome. I saw a part of Rome which I would never have considered visiting. Really fun day riding Vespa following Mario up into the mountains above Rome. Several stops at villages, lookouts, places of interest like Lake Gondolfo near the Pope’s Summer Palace and other castles. And excellent lunch was included at a really nice local restaurant. The food was great! We stopped for a couple espressos and walks around. Please note! I drove my own Vespa for an extra charge for day use. You MUST have proficient motorcycle driving skills and an international driving permit. Traffic can be daunting, but Mario was patient and easy to follow. It was an excellent experience to drive my own Vespa and enjoy the scenery without worrying where I was going, or directions to get back. He had a very good itinerary. If you don’t wish to drive your own Vespa, he’s skilled enough to comfortably carry a passenger.
