We had high hopes for this class, and did not think it was worth the money. We learned to make pizza, did all the steps (except put it in the oven, as is shown in the sample pics. They just took our pizzas from us and did all that part themselves in the back without us seeing any of it). My kids enjoyed it and the pizza was yummy. But the class part was 45 minutes at most. Then they just have you sit at a table in the restaurant and bring you the pizza you made and let you dine. All very nice! And my kids (8, 5, 4) loved it. But we would not do it again for the price we paid. The instructor was great, very friendly and helpful, and assisted my 4 year old quite a bit. No complaints about any of it except the price.
We had the best experience. When we arrived we were greeted and taken to our table. Served drinks and it was a full Class! Fun for the kids and fun for the adults!! 10/10!
Kids loved it, guides were super helpful.
the tour guides were excellent and very helpful with the kids. The kids loved it.
Our family enjoyed this experience. The chef was engaging and we enjoyed the group atmosphere. The restaurant was accommodating and went so far as to have a highchair waiting for us when we went to sit down and eat. My only critique is that the images shown weren't representative of the experience. The cooking stations were counter height and there were no seats. I was unable to hold my toddler and prepare the food, so he had to sit in his stroller in the corner. This is worth noting for others who are considering bringing young children.
A must do! Love the restaurant, such a great chef (Chef Cleo) and an overall fun and wonderful experience! Highly recommend.
We did this event with two young kids (4,6) and had a blast! There was another family with us with young kids also. Overall great experience for the kids! Parents were very happy too. The pizza ended up being very tasty!
Our Pizza making class also incuded Tiramisu which was absolutely so much fun. My grandson loved the interaction and the end results. Everything turned out so good, I encouraage anyone that has children to do this tour with them, you will not be disappointed.
Our tour guide through Rome on the Golf carts (Silvia) was the best tour guide we had our entire trip. The kids loved her and so did the adults. There was a hiccup with our reservations—the venue location changed but the tour guide made sure to make things right before she left us at the reservation.
My 15 and 10 year old grandsons enjoyed this experience very much and loved eating their own pizzas. Thank you. We would highly recommend it for others with kids.
This was our first time doing a cooking class in Italy. We did the pizza and tiramisu making class in Rome. It was held at Gusto Pizzeria. Our instructor was Sara. She was terrific. We met two other families, also from the US. We all ate together and shared our travel experiences. It was an amazing experience and I know one my family will always cherish. Highly recommend.
We were in a group with adults and children, and it was ideal. Did everything promised; the chef was very informative and great with the children. A lovely morning in Rome.
Amazing!!! Best experience ever. Made our trip as it was such a highlight. Our 3 year old had the best time and they were so accommodating
Overall we had an underwhelming experience with the tours. They were fine, but I would look at different tour companies in the future if we ever did other tours/activities in Rome. One of the things we did was the pizza masterclass, which I wouldn't recommend to anyone. The whole experience was pretty lame and did not match the photos that we saw online prior to going. We simply sat at a back table in a restaurant, kneaded dough while listening to someone (who wasn't very engaging) explain the process of making pizza, and then spent a brief amount of time in the small kitchen of the restaurant rolling dough and putting toppings on our pizza. It was definitely a let down, and for the current price of this experience (65 euros!), I wouldn't recommend it. The tour company did a good job of communicating with us, which we appreciated. But our overall experience wasn't great; it was underwhelming. And if you're going to spend the money to do things like this, I would advise looking at other options.
Our family of four (2 adults & 2 kids) took the pizza and tiramisu class. Sara was an excellent instructor and a lot of fun. We learned a lot and had a great time. Everything turned out so delicious, and we made friends with the other people taking the class. Definitely a great class!
The pizza making class was a wonderful experience -- a nice, quiet activity away from the bustle of the rest of our trip. Our kids (6 and 4) were both able to participate. The instructor included them in each step and they were able to enjoy the fruits of their labor at the end. I'd recommend to anyone looking for something other than the traditional sightseeing that Rome is known for.
Our family team enjoyed this experience. Our chef, Simone was kind and fun. The kids really liked him and learning how to roll the dough and pick their toppings was fun. The restaurant is very clean and the staff very nice. Highly recommend for families even with little little ones.
OMJ - Just returned from an 11 day trip to Italy. We finished with this tour so that my 9 year old grandkids had "fun" things to do (vs. constant museums, etc. - for which they were real troopers). So, it was me (gamma), the twins, my sister and nephew. I can't even begin to tell you how much fun this was. Our chef was wonderful. He was so great with the kids (and adults). He really wanted you to know what you were doing and and go home with a new skill. You actually make the pizza dough, then go into the kitchen and stretch the dough, select your toppings and then go out to a table where they serve you your creation. They treated you with prosecco (OJ for the kids), beverages and bruschetta if you wanted (we were too stuffed from our creations). I thought the description said dessert but maybe they substituted the bruschetta for it. It didn't matter. It was PERFECT, fun and a GREAT way to bid farewell to Italy!!!!! Only regret is not having internet to scan the code that would give us the recipe for what we just made.
Saretya was a great teacher and very patient with our 5 year old! She was very thorough and specific on the instructions. We truly enjoyed the experience!
Last minute booked this pizza class for my son’s 6th birthday and we absolutely loved it! He had so much fun and definitely core memories were made. The chef was super nice and patient with my son and the restaurant staff and chef surprised him with a little birthday panna cotta with a candle and sang to him in Italian. It was so perfect and special! The chef even offered to take some of our pictures and video so we could remember evening. So sweet! Would definitely recommend.
Our pizza making class did not start out well. We arrived late for the class, in part because a tour salesperson said an exact address had been provided when it was not. We arrived after the class had begun and were told it was too late for us to participate. The actual tour operator Julia appeared out of nowhere and saved the day. She offered a later class at another restaurant where we made tiramisu and pizza. A really great time was had by all, including my 7 year old daughter. Thanks to Julia and Chef Anna we really enjoyed making and eating pizza and dessert. Absolutely recommend that you register for this class/tour but only if you are sure that you are dealing with the actual tour operator.
We had a great experience with Rome for Kids. Our guides over 3 days were wonderful and added so much more context and meaning to all the amazing history around us. There was a lot of walking for small children but the stories kept them interested and inquisitive. Highly recommended
This is really worth it. Luca hosted our session and he was amazing, he didn’t just let us make pizzas, he taught us how, so we can do it at home! The dough we made requires 8 hours to rise, so our dough instead is used to feed homeless people, and we are given fresh dough that’s risen. It was English speaking, but all the people there were from all over. We were English, but there were Australian, American, Brazilian and French, so we had an amazing time discussing cultures and our plans for our trip. Wonderful.
Very knowledgeable and fun teacher. It was a great activity for my kids and the adults learned a lot as well!
My 9 year old son and I took this class and had such a great time! Chef Hassan was a great teacher and wonderful with my son. The experience is definitely not just for kids! There were mostly adults in the class and it was a great time for everyone. We made and ate our delicious pizzas, drank wine and limoncello, and had a lovely time with everyone there. Highly recommend!
The place and class itself, including the chef/teacher, was pretty good. I am giving it 2 stars because the place did not have working a/c and it was so hot it felt like we were in an oven. It was a very very very unpleasant experience. For the price of the class, we literally made a quick pizza and then ate it in the extreme heat - did not seem very worth it. If the place can manage to have better ventilation or a/c, it would really improve the experience. Another idea is to let customers know in advance so they expect the heat. We were expecting a/c (like other cooking classes we have done and some other participants shared same - that they were expected a/c). Our family had just showered to have a nice family meal and we were surprised with a totally non-pleasant situation. We had to rush our meal as we could not wait to go outside and get some air. We were drenched in sweat from head to toe and feeling faint from the heat. We expect heat given the temperatures in summer in Italy - especially for outdoor tours- but this one was inside and for a meal so we had very different expectations.
My kids (5 and 3) loved the class so much! The teacher was amazing at keeping them involved and excited about what we were doing! Plus the pizza and gelato were amazing.
Great pizza making class with our five year old son. We all loved it, the chefs are great with children. As funny as it sounds, it was the best pizza we ate in Rome
Our entire family enjoyed this experience, including our 7 year old. Fun experience and delicious pizza!
The cook was wonderful with our 7 year old son who needed some more support, and he knew to have our 5 year old just play in some dough and feel like he was part of the process. The pizza was delicious, and the meal came with surprise bruschetta, limoncello, and wine. However, the room where we cooked was VERY hot and a tight space, and they took an extremely long time serving us the drinks/dessert (I think probably the waiter just forgot about us maybe).
Our 4 and 7 year old kids had an amazing time, the restaurant was super patient with both of our kids. Would highly recommend!
Excellent class, my girls loved it. Great activity to do as it was a wet and rainy day. Definitely recommended
You lost my order. We got no pizza class with kids. Glad we got money back. But kids where really looking ford this
We all love this experience. Definitely a nice touch to our vacation time! We will definitely recommend to anyone who is visiting Rome.
We had a pizza making class with our three Kids today. We had a great time. Leonardo is the best and very patient and good with the Kids. We learned a lot and the pizza was delicious. Definitely must to do when visiting Rome.
Our chef was amazing. After a mix up of addresses, the company was quick to respond and help us even though it was not even their error but the booking company (Viator) fault. They rescheduled us for an entire new day and it worked out perfectly. We loved our chef, Hassan, with Walk and Eat Italy. He took the time to be fun and playful with our kids and was understanding when our son fell asleep. We made the best pizza and he took tons of videos and photos for us. The little things that made this experience even better!! 10/10 stars for him and our experience!!!
After a misunderstanding (on Viator.com part NOT walk and eat Italy or Rome Kids) we had the best time ever. Our chef was so amazing and great with kids. We all learned so much and highly recommend this class!!
Great fun, great coaching and great pizza. My 7 year old loved it! It was also nice to meet some lovely people while eating our pizzas at the end
Our family of five (two adults, a 15 year old and 10 year old twins) LOVED this activity when we visited Rome in February. All the staff were super friendly, knowledgeable, funny and taught us all how to make the most delicious pizzas! Would definitely recommend.
This pizza making class was the highlight of our Europe trip. Making real Italian pizza and Italy with our 5 year old daughter will be a memory that I won't ever forget. The host was amazing and provided the right amount of technical detail, along with some fun elements for our daughter. It was a great activity and I highly recommend!
The staff were all terrific. My sons aged 10 and 12 loved this experience of making their own pizza in an authentic wood fired oven. Our chef Mateo was fantastic at engaging with the kids and patient with the adults. The end result was amazing. I would highly recommend this to any family.
The organizer changer the pizza location and never informed us. We got to the scheduled place and they told us they have not done the class for a month now. 15 min later we got a text informing us of the new location. The chef was good but we ended up having only 15 min of the class. It was not really worth it.
We loved this family activity for our 4 & 6 year olds. They both loved the hands on class to make their own pizzas that we got to eat afterwards for lunch. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Our instructor was so friendly and very good with children. Our boys loved him. The pizza was also delicious. We practically licked our plates clean. This was perfect for young kids because it took about an hour. Any longer than that, my kids would have lost interest. We also had grandparents traveling with us and they were very accommodating letting then sit and watch the class. We are home now and the kids are still playing pizzeria. If we come back to Rome, we will definitely do this class again. It's worth every penny. Reservations/booking and payment were very easily done before our trip. We just had to show up and cook!
We had a great time and learned a lot. We laughed a lot with the instructor and the other participants. The pizza was delicious too! Our only complaint would be that we received an e-mail while we were on vacation telling us our time was moved from 11:30 to 12:15 which meant some people from our group were no longer able to join in because they had tours planned. We actually didn’t even start until nearly 1pm.
What a fun thing to do in Rome! The staff couldn't have been more gracious and the pizza was truly outstanding. We are still dreaming about it. Such a highlight of our vacation! My two kids (8 & 12) have been talking about this experience nonstop. We would definitely do it again and would certainly recommend it to others. People of all ages would enjoy this class.

Excellent value and a great experience. My daughter loved it and the pizza chef makes it hugely enjoyable and has a real passion about pizza making. Good value as were given free beer and prosecco throughout the whole experience.

This was a fantastic experience and the highlight of the trip to my Rome for my son.
Everyone at the restaurant was friendly and welcoming. My son is eight years old and the chefs were fab showing him how to make the pizza and making it a great memory!

Our grandson gave this rating. He had a great time and created an excellent pizza...we all did. The staff were very friendly - not just the guys doing the teaching - all the staff made a point to engage him through the evening. Thoroughly enjoyable, well worth an evening.

Again, my 11 year old grandson and I enjoyed this very much.
