Anastasia was a wonderful guide- very easy to talk to, very good at explaining the specific importance of the foods that we ate or wine that we drank. We had good conversation at the table in our small group which also made the experience special. We sampled some appetizers (suppli, panzarotti), cheeses (Parmesan and pecorino), a red wine, 2 pastas and finished with tiramisu. Our group was tired, so we all passed on the espresso offered at the end of the tour. It was a chance to go through a very lively neighborhood in Rome in the evening, which made it even more special Anastasia also shared a list of her favorite places for different types of food, for example, sandwiches or gelato some of which we checked out after the tour

Itinerary
Meet your local guide in Santa Maria in Trastevere Square. Begin your foodie adventure in Trastevere, the "village" of Rome which lies right in the heart of the city. Popular with born and bred Romans, this is the real place to be seen out and about eating and drinking. We will show you the way!
Without any further ado, let’s move to our first stop and savour a couple of deep-fried treats to get us starting.
Now that our bellies want more, it’s time to indulge in some of the best pasta in the area. We sit down and we share two tastings. Be ready for an explosion of flavour!
Time to get a few steps in and head to a neighboring area and one of the most famous squares in the city: Campo de' Fiori. It’s about a 10 minute walk, just enough to digest the first batch of deliciousness. At the square, we’ll take a step back in time and experience the tradition of cured meats in a very old shop
After some proteins washed down with some wine, we will stay around to try an historical bakery pizza and a little sweet treat.
It’s time to approach the end of our journey. We will have a grand final with the best tiramisù in town!
With our taste buds still bewildered, it’s time to conclude our adventure with either a coffee or a limoncello. We believe only the bravest can even think about dinner after all this, BUT if you’re one of them, ask your local guide for recommendations. You’re in the right place!

After a small mix up with meeting point, our guide Mateo took us for a gentle walk around the area, explaining many things along the way. As we progressed we got to taste local food and wine including a main course of delicious pasta. Mattel was a wonderful guide and it was a great way to enjoy a few hours whilst having a lovely meal.
Sofia was new as a tour guide, but she acted like a veteran. We had a great time getting to know her, the Roman food, and the other guests. I would definitely do it again and recommend it to first time visitors. We did it on our first night in Rome and had no regrets. Thanks Sofia!
This was a great tour we ate family style meeting some fun new people. I had booked through Italia rail and I thought it was a walking tour, but it was a sit down farm table type thing with delicious food and wine and dessert. Laura was great as well as the staff from the restaurant.
We had a lovely time at Il Barroccio restaurant . The food and refreshments were really good and we had the opportunity to try some of the Roman traditional food. And they sent the recipes. Did esquisite enjoy company of two Canadians from Ontario and six Americans from Georgia. We had a lovely social interaction. The host Savina (hope spelt right) made the evening with her tales and experiences of Rome. Very glad we took advantage of this experience
Arrive with an appetite! The food was plentiful and delicious. I can’t believe anyone would still be hungry. Lovely variety of starters and 4 different pasta dishes not to mention the Tiramisu. Fantastic! Our guide was Anastasia- she was knowledgeable, personal and passionate about Rome. It was a delight to spend time with her and the group.
The food and guide helped make the night. Pasta was wonderful. Fabrio was an enthusiastic energetic and friendly guide who help make sure everyone that attended enjoyed it. The cured meat and especially the tiramisu at the end were to die for
A great way to see some of the Trastevere neighbourhood and get some information about local foods. Nice to have a small group. Host was knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about the local cuisine.
We had an absolute blast on this tour. Our guide Fabrizio was so awesome & kind! Food was amazing at every stop & we were even able to detour a view some amazing sites. Couldn't recommend this tour with Fabrizio enough!
This was the perfect way to kick off our visit to Rome. Mattia was knowledgeable and friendly and took care to ensure this was a great experience. Thank you!!
Francesco was an amazing guide. He is so knowledgeable and very kind. He is a very good representation of your company! Well done
Spectacular walking food tour! Benedetta was an excellent guide - passionate, knowledgeable, personable, enthusiastic, helpful, entertaining and kind! There was just so much incredible food- make sure you arrive very hungry. What a fun time! We highly recommend this tour.
Exceptional experience! Benni was a fabulous historian and guide. She had personal relationships with the restaurants that we stopped at that made the experience very friendly and inviting. The food was amazing. We now have a friend in Rome!
Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and explanations provoded by our highly informed guide. We stopped at many places and tried a wide variety of local favorites. It seemed the whole town knew our guide. Loved it so much, we went back the next day for dinner.
Just finished trestavere evening food tour. Had the most amazing time. Francisco was the ultimate professional guide making the Roman food history come alive. Even in the pouring rain he remained upbeat and positive. 5/5 would recommend
Did the food tour with my 17 year old daughter. Our guide Francesco was outstanding. His knowledge and insight of the neighborhoods and the history of Italian food was very interesting. He made the tour really fun and feed us like we couldn't believe!! I wish we had done this our first night in Rome as his insights and tips we were able to use the rest of our trip.
This was such a fun and yummy tour! Make sure you are hungry on this tour because you eat so much food! We stopped at five different places and got to try so much food. My teenage boys were even full! We did this tour last but I recommend doing it first. It will help to know all the good places to eat when in Rome.
Our tour was also through Italia Tours but was entitled “Eat as the Romans Do: Trastevere Street Food Experience.” I don’t see it listed separately, but It was absolutely a highlight of our trip. Francesco was fantastic, and everyone is still talking about the evening. Unfortunately, the tour was the last evening of our trip, so we didn’t have a chance to return to any of the restaurants/shops. But maybe next time!
We did the "Eat As The Romans Do: Trastevere Street Food Experience". It was amazing! Francesco was an excellent guide, took us through Trastevere and had some great insights into the history of the city. His advice has served us well when finding places to eat on our holiday! Thank you Francesco!
Francisco shared his love of food, friends and family with us! It was a good introduction to the area as well. My teenager listened, learned and is remembering!
This was by far the highlight of our trip to Rome. (And we did most of the typical things, including several other tours, one of which was Vatican City.) The reason this tour was so much fun was more because of our guide, Roberta (or Robi) than it was because of the food itself. Don't get me wrong--the food was great, and there was more than enough of it. We couldn't even think about having dinner that night after all we ate during the tour. But it was really Robi who made the tour the highlight of our trip to Rome. She was incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and friendly. At one point late in the tour she said something about how she hopes to make the tour more like a friend showing friends around Rome. Ordinarily I would consider that pretty corny, but in this case that really was a perfect and fitting description of this tour. I don't know if or when we will visit Rome again, but if we do, and if Robi is still giving this tour, we will definitely take it again.
An absolute must when you come to Rome - we tried food in some lovely family businesses, lots of amazing food - the tiramisu is fabulous! It’s a great way to spend a few hours. Our guide was super knowledgeable and gave lots of great tips of where not to eat during your stay !
This was an amazing experience. Our guide picked some really great stops for the best panzerotti I have ever had, great salumiari shop with loads of different cured meats, two kinds of pasta, delicious tiramisu and it ended with great espresso! I don’t eat chocolate, so our guide bought me a gelato, artisanal, not the usual kind you find more often. Unfortunately, I have forgotten her name, but I will say she was a superb guide!
A fabulous tour of food, sooo much food, do not eat before doing this you get soo much. Roberto, Robbie, was a fountain of knowledge and took us to some amazing places. Totally worth the money, soo much fun 😁
We absolutely loved this tour. Roberta and Genys were fantastic. The food was amazing, and we really appreciated hearing the stories about how it all tied into the culture of local Romans. All the places we visited were very hospitable and the portions were very big. We are so glad we did this and highly recommend it for a great time.
My teen daughter and I went on this tour with Francesco as our guide. We had such a good time walking through the streets of Rome, eating finger-linking good food, all the while learning some of the roman culture, not all related to food. We had 6 stops for food (and then some)... all worth it, places I would want to come back to. This tour gave us the opportunity to experience Rome like a local, with a local, in a small group, and we'll never forget it. Grazie Mille, Francesco! Multumesc 😉
This is a great way to learn a little more about Italian cuisine and to get the best of the best in terms of food. We enjoyed our guide, Mattia. He seem to know everyone and was very knowledgeable about Italian food, How it is prepared, how to pair foods and more. this would be fun to do with other couples if you are traveling together. Just know that there is a lot of walking from place to place. You will not be at a table at every place, but you will eat delicious food. I have never seen so many restaurants, gelato shops, meat and cheese shops, Cafés, and pizza places. Having this tour helped us to get a feel for the city, stop in places we never would have and try things we never had before.
Our tour with Francesco was wonderful! He’s very knowledgeable and had lots of fun facts. The food was abundant and wonderful! Don’t eat before this tour. You’ll enjoy every bite!
Our tour guide was fantastic! He did a great job telling us a bunch of history facts and scoping out the perfect restaurants!!
Our tour guide Francisco was amazing and very knowable and very friendly. I would decently recommend this tour to anyone.
Francesco was the most amazing tour guide and this is a must do the minute you arrive in Rome. You will be full, happy and know all the secrets to eating in Rome. Run, don’t walk to this tour!
Wow! What a great way to spend a few hours walking and eat great food with a local guide. We started in the Trastevere with traditional anti pasti and pasta and then headed across the bridge for salami and dessert. 7 stops so you need to pace yourself. It was all delicious and Francisco was super friendly and provided the right level of information. I would highly recommend this tour.
I came here to have some good food .. Food was delicious and fantastic atmosphere great as well sea view .. Highly recommended Nice staff 👍 Thanks
Guide was fantastic and fun. Food was very good only problem was huge portions. Went to locally family owned restaurants and learned a lot about Italian foods and types of restaurants. Would do this tour again it was so great
Francesco was the perfect host to show us around. Fun conversation and very engaging. The spots we stopped at offered some amazing food. It was the perfect tour to take when you first arrive in Rome.
This was a great food tour and we and a fantastic experience. Our food tour guide was Francesco, and he was the best! He provided a nice balance of visiting/tasting food at restaurants, and what to look for in a good, family run restaurant. Also, as we went from restaurant to restaurant, he gave a nice tour and history of the many sites along the way.
Robbie was absolutely amazing. Truly one of THE BEST tour of our lives. The food was delicious and filling, her stories were so fun and interesting, and tour was so personal and perfect! Both of our kids had an amazing time, even our VERY PICKY 14 year old son. He ranked this as his favorite thing to do on this trip! Thanks Robbie for ensuring our family had such a great time and intro to truly Roman cuisine! We’ll definitely see you next time we return to Rome!! AND…we’ll be sure to come hungry. 💝
We loved the knowledge and passion of our tour guide Robbie. She gave us a great insight into how Romans like to eat and their passion with food. Robbie kept us laughing and stuffed with fantastic food for the evening.
I have been on several food tours around Europe and this was the best one. We went to several local spots and tried many delicious things. Roberta did an amazing job on this tour. She is very passionate about Rome and is a great tour guide. I would highly recommend this tour.
I usually don’t like guided tours. However, with Roberta, it wasn’t a tour, it was like going with a local friend to show you around. The food she will introduce you to is THE BEST in Roma. The portions are HUGE. and the company, phenomenal! Totally recommend and grazie mille Roberta!!
Had a brilliant time with Roberta who showed us all the best spots to eat outside the touristy centre of Rome, everything was delicious and we learned loads about Roman life and customs from a local with great knowledge, would 100% recommend just make sure to arrive hungry
Roberta, a born and breed Roman, provided us with a very personable food tour for myself, my wife and our two children (7 & 10 years old). The tour focused on the Roman culture with some history (focused around food), and she directed us to the eateries that the local Romans frequent. We were able to sample several different Roman delicacies, with Suppli and Spaghetti Carbonara being a couple of favorites. One of the many things that we learned was that Tiramisu is not traditional made with alcohol, which we appreciated since 3 of the 4 of us do not drink. My family gives this tour 4 Thumbs (or rather, Forks) up!
