Rome Food Tour: Pasta, Wine, Gelato Trastevere Campo De' Fiori

Awful! What a sad waste of not only money but also one out of the three nights that we were in Rome. Teresa walked extremely slow, talked quietly so that we heard nothing. She didn’t seem knowledgeable when we could even hear her talk about each place we went. We stood around for about 20 minutes before we were even given food at each place after it seemed she was arguing with the restaurant to get us the food. We asked her for some recommendations in Rome to eat at and she said she didn’t go out to dinner. She also told us she was an emergency fill-in and she usually works at the Vatican. She seemed annoyed to be there. So very disappointed.

The meeting point was during the market clean up and couldn’t hear anything, felt in the way constantly. You’re not allowed to sit anywhere to have your food and drink till the last stop. Greasy food first 2 stops second stop no drink to wash food down. Last stop sit down nice restaurant but pasta was cold. Guide had push back at most of the stops. Guide tried to keep us engaged but too much going on everywhere. Met a fun group on the tour though who helped make it fun. Wouldn’t do it again.

Street signs and building addresses can be tricky, so get specific notes on how to find your guide - ours was standing outside the noted pharmacy and noticed our confused stares. Once that hurdle is crossed hold on to your hat for an absolutely delightful fantastic tasty tour! Our guide, Anna Maria, was amazing as she explained history, tradition, certification, correct eating method, and what to look for when on your own. Have an appetite and be hungry (very), because there is much to sample.

Michele was our tour guide, he conducted a wonderful food tour. He was very knowledgeable and introduced us to delicious local foods. He also pointed out many points of interest and historical facts. We would highly recommend this tour.

The tour was absolutely awesome! The food was excellent, and we got to visit places we would probably never have discovered without our tour guide, Ilaria. While strolling through the small streets of Rome, she pointed out so many interesting little historical details hidden in the buildings and told us the stories behind them. Every food stop was amazing, and Ilaria was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole tour feel very personal. She even recommended a restaurant for us for the evening and went out of her way to make a reservation for us. Overall, an amazing experience – both the tour and Ilaria were a 10/10. We would absolutely recommend it!

The experience was amazing! We tried local cheese, porchetta, different pastas and wine, all while learning a lot from Anna Maria, which was an amazing guide and told us everything about the neighbourhood and historical figures. I would definetely recommend the tour with Anna!

Michele was so friendly and informative, not only sharing history of Rome and Italy but also info about food and his own favorites. We thought this would be a tour with up to 10 others but it ended up being just my boyfriend, me and our tour guide which was a pleasant surprise. I’d recommend this to everyone visiting Rome!

Ilaria was so incredible gracious. We walked into this expecting to be blown away by the food, which we were. What we did not expect was to be blown away by the Roman people and the stories that Ilaria shared with us as we walked. I would highly recommend this tour as a thing to do early in your trip so you know where the locals eat!

AnaMaria was an excellent guide, friendly, knowledgeable of the area, gave great history of the area and food history. Her local connections made us feel like we were in on the secrets to the city. The restaurant s and Gelato were phenomenal food, and paired greatly with local wines, beers, and water fountains in the city. We all highly recommend taking this tour. You will walk a lot, but she has spaced out the food and the rest times, bring your appetite the food says its bites, but we found the portions very generous. The weather was beautiful a light breeze, and it was so special to be with family.
