You’ll have time to take stunning photos from carefully chosen viewpoints, enjoy the atmosphere without daytime crowds, and ask questions while learning fascinating facts about Rome’s most famous landmark. The stop is relaxed and unhurried, allowing you to fully appreciate the Colosseum’s scale, history, and nighttime magic.
The heart of Ancient Rome

Bernini’s 4 River Fountain
Here is a Viator-style description for Piazza del Campidoglio, with emphasis on the views, consistent with your other stops: At Piazza del Campidoglio, you will stop on the Capitoline Hill to admire one of Rome’s most beautiful and symbolic squares, designed by Michelangelo. Your guide will explain the importance of this site in ancient and Renaissance Rome while you take in sweeping views over the Roman Forum and the rooftops of the Eternal City. From this elevated viewpoint, you’ll enjoy excellent photo opportunities, especially at night, and appreciate the unique perspective that connects Rome’s imperial past with its living city below.
At the Torre Argentina Cat Sanctuary, you will stop at an archaeological site where ancient Roman history and modern Rome meet in a unique way. Your guide will explain the importance of this area, home to four Republican-era temples and famously associated with the assassination of Julius Caesar. While learning about the site’s history, you’ll also see the protected cats that live among the ruins, cared for by local volunteers. You’ll have time to take photos, enjoy the atmosphere, and discover why this spot has become one of Rome’s most unusual and beloved landmarks.
At the Tempio Maggiore of Rome, you will stop along the Tiber River to admire one of the city’s most distinctive religious buildings. Your guide will explain the history of Rome’s Jewish community, one of the oldest in Europe, and the significance of the synagogue’s unique architectural style, crowned by its square dome. You’ll learn how this landmark symbolizes resilience, identity, and cultural continuity while enjoying a peaceful nighttime setting. There will be time to observe details, take photos, and appreciate the atmosphere of this important historical and cultural site.
At Campo de' Fiori, you will stop in one of Rome’s most vibrant and historic squares. Your guide will describe the story behind the statue of Giordano Bruno and explain how this lively piazza has transformed over centuries from a medieval marketplace to a popular local gathering place. In the evening, you’ll experience the energetic atmosphere created by cafés and bars, observe everyday Roman life, and have time to take photos while enjoying the contrast between history and modern nightlife.
At the Temple of Hercules Victor, you will stop to admire one of the best-preserved ancient temples in Rome, beautifully lit at night. Your guide will explain the significance of this circular marble temple, its Greek-inspired design, and its connection to ancient trade and the nearby Tiber River. You’ll learn why this temple is unique in Rome and how it survived through centuries of change. There will be time to take photos and appreciate the elegant proportions and peaceful atmosphere of this lesser-known ancient landmark.
At the Temple of Portunus, you will stop near the Tiber River to admire one of the best-preserved ancient temples in Rome. Your guide will explain its role in ancient Rome as a temple dedicated to the god of ports and river trade, and how its elegant proportions influenced later classical architecture. You’ll discover why this temple survived almost intact through the centuries and enjoy time to take photos while soaking in the calm, atmospheric setting, especially evocative at night.
At the Theatre of Marcellus, you will stop to admire an impressive ancient structure that inspired the design of the Colosseum. Your guide will explain its origins in the time of Julius Caesar and Augustus, how it was used for public performances, and how it later became part of medieval and Renaissance buildings. You’ll see the layers of history built directly onto the ancient ruins, enjoy the peaceful evening atmosphere, and have time to take photos while learning how this monument evolved over more than two thousand years.
At Piazza Farnese, you will stop in an elegant Renaissance square dominated by the majestic Palazzo Farnese. Your guide will explain the history of the powerful Farnese family and point out architectural details, including the twin fountains made from ancient Roman basins. In the evening light, you’ll enjoy a calm and refined atmosphere, have time to take photos, and appreciate the contrast between grand Renaissance architecture and the quiet rhythm of Roman nightlife.
Here is a Viator-style description for the Portico of Octavia, written in the same tone and structure as the Colosseum stop and focused on what travelers will see and do: At the Portico of Octavia, you will pause in the heart of Rome’s ancient Jewish Ghetto, where layers of Roman, medieval, and Jewish history come together. Your guide will explain the origins of this elegant portico, its role in ancient Rome, and how the area evolved over centuries. You’ll discover hidden architectural details, hear lesser-known stories, and enjoy a quieter, atmospheric setting that feels especially evocative at night. There will be time to take photos and experience this historic site away from the crowds while learning how this area shaped Rome’s cultural identity.

ur Rome By Night E‑Bike Tour was absolutely excellent. Leo’s tour was one of the highlights of our entire trip, he knows so much about Rome and shares it in a way that makes everyone feel relaxed, welcome and part of the fun. His energy, knowledge and humour created such a memorable experience. Highly recommend.
Leo was a fabulous guide! Our family of four had a "private" tour with him and he kept my teenage boys entertained while providing some amazing history of the city. The bikes were very new and overall a 5 star experience!
Leo was the BEST! We had a wonderful tour with him, as he is full of energy and his love for Rome is overflowing! It was really fun and informative, too!
Marco was a great tour guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. He was very patient and we were able to make multiple stops for photos. I would definitely book this again!
The e-bike tour with Leo was one of the best experiences of our holiday. Leo customised the tour to suit our group and the time of day and provided really interesting and entertaining information about Rome's history and culture along the way. This is a really unique way to experience Rome and highly recommended.
A great experience. Leo was very knowledgeable about Rome and very accommodating (rain delay). Ebikes were easy to maneuver around crowded Rome. Thank you!
I can’t recommend this experience highly enough. Fantastic, upbeat and informative guide Leo made it so much fun and safe to cycle the streets and see the sights of Rome. A must for any tourist!
Really good way to start your time in Rome. It helped to see the exterior of all of the main sights in central Rome and get a sense of the city. Extremely kind guide and great tour
This was by far our favorite tour in Rome. An awesome way to see the sites, going at night avoided so many crowds
A great experience with our guide Marco. He was informative & funny. He knew the city very well and history. He guided us through the city with ease.
Amazing time riding around Rome in the evening and seeing the all its amazing sites and history under the lights.. Guide was very knowledgeable, entertaining and patient with all of us. Great Experience!
This is an amazing tour! The guide is super knowledgeable and entertaining and has great recommendations. The guide takes special care to ensure each person has the right bike for them so safety is a clear priority. I highly recommend this tour and I would do it again.
Very good and interesting tour and a perfect way to discover Rome. The place had really good bikes plus helmet. Our guide Luca was the BEST.
Marco gave us an amazing tour of Rome. A definite highlight of the trip! We easily followed him through the crazy streets of Rome.
Such a great tour. Our guide was amazingly knowledgeable and we had so much fun. So many sights seen and great bikes. Highly recommend.
Fantastic way to see the sights of Rome and experience Rome at night . One of the highlights of our trip ! Luca, our guide was absolutely incredible - knowledgeable but also so much fun ! 11/10 — highly recommend!
Luigi was an excellent guide! He took us to all the “hot spots” of Rome. The bikes were easy to ride. I would highly recommend this tour.
Louiggi was fantastic! Very personable and friendly. He replaced my wife’s regular bike with an electric one to make the hills easier for her: What a great way to see the old city! Traffic is less and much cooler. Took the whole family including 3 teenagers and they had a great time. Highly recommend this experience.
Our instructor RV was funny and very kind. Also very informative. He went above and beyond The night tour was beautiful!!
Guide very informative and route fantastic! Would highly recommend! You don’t need an e bike if you are able to get up a few short inclines.
A great way to see Rome - even though it rained most of the way, it meant we had the streets to ourselves!
We booked a group tour option for me and my partner, but we ended up being the only two which worked out better for us. Luigi was super friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. We were only in Rome for one night so he showed us everything we wanted to see, and took some great pictures of us! We had a dinner reservation and had to end the tour a little early, and he was able to stick to our schedule and still show us everything
Luca was our amazing and fun guide! He gave us all the historical and political info for each stop. Highly recommend! Bellissimo!
Nice relaxed bike tour. Nighttime different views and very beautiful!!! Highlights were the Circus Maximus at night…
Had a great ride. Tour operator helped us upgrade to e-bikes and took us around to the less known spots understanding we had a limited time. Highly recommend.
Arturo was a fabulous guide- informative, funny, intuitive, accommodating and a great photographer! Honestly our family was tired after a day of traveling, so we considered canceling, but a few minutes into the ride we were all having so much fun! This tour was definitely one of the highlights of our 3 country trip. Highly recommended. Grazie mille Arturo!
Amazing experience guided by Niccolo who took us to different monuments and overlooks as we requested. Unbelievable feeling to bike around Rome in the summer evenings as it cools down. Sunset on aventine hill was a highlight.
We went on this tour for our first night in Rome back in June 2019. It was a great way to see the big sites, get the "lay of the land," and get great info both on the big picture and on all of the places we went to. Arturo was extremely knowledgeable and very patient at sharing the time between teaching us information and letting us explore and photograph something like the Spanish Steps or Trevi Fountain. Would absolutely recommend and am remembering it fondly while waiting to do vacations again ;-)
Everything about this bike tour experience was top notch. The guide was fun to be with, very knowledgeable and funny during the entire tour. I will always recommend this business to anyone who asks for tips on what to do in Rome.
The tour was fabulous! The description stated a maximum of 8 but it turned out to be just me and my mom. Our guide Luca was great....He didn't go too fast or too slow, we saw all the different sites and he knew exactly where to get the best pictures. He gave us just enough history without making it boring. Highly recommend this tour and tour company!
Our group of only two plus our knowledgable guide was brilliant. We were taken to all the main attractions, with plenty of time to stop, explore and learn a little about each. I would advise doing this on your first day if possible as it helps get your bearings, plus our guide Luca even took the time after the tour to show us some nice places to eat that aren’t tourist traps.
My boyfriend and I did this tour on our first night in Rome. We were the only ones on the tour. We covered all the major sights. I highly recommend doing the tour on your first evening in Rome as the tour gives you an understanding of where all the major attractions are located and the historical background. It was also very pleasant in terms of temperature starting the tour at 7pm. There were a couple of hours of daylight but the temperature had dropped significantly. Bikes can also go along streets that the segways can't. Thank you for an excellent tour!!
This was great! We were 2 adults and 3 teenagers (17,14,12) and booked the tour from the website when we were in the UK. The Rex-Tour guys were very relaxed and friendly, the bikes were in good condition. The tour guide was fun and good at chatting with the kids. It was a whistle-stop tour of all the main attractions in Rome and the route between the sites took us through beautiful back streets that we wouldn't have discovered on our own. I was a little concerned about traffic but this wasn't an issue at all, we were mainly on quiet streets and where it was busy we generally got off to cross the main roads as pedestrians. I think this may be too long for children who are younger than 11. We were in Rome for 4 days and this was definitely our favourite part. If you are only in Rome for 1 or 2 days this would be a great way to see the main attractions.
What an amazing way to see the city, definitely was the best experience of our entire trip! Arturo our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and made the tour fun! We were probably the worst bikers he's ever had to guide, but he was very patient with us and slowed down to keep with our pace. Would highly recommend this to everyone, as seeing the city at night and with very few tourist was a unique experience.
This tour is awesome! Biking through Rome was both fun and easy and it was incredible way to see the highlights and major attractions in Rome. A special shout out to Leopold and Luca who went above and beyond to not only give us a great tour but also give us great recommendations for food and ways to spend our time in Rome. Thank toy!

Amazing tour. It was just my dad and myself. The tour guide took us all around Rome. Best part was he didn't have a route to follow. He asked what you wanted to see and brought you there. Also showed you things you never knew existed. Things im pretty sure very few people knew existed. Ill keep it a surprise for you. Tour guide has great knowledge of very things we saw. Also he went and what ever pace you where happy with on the bike.

Autoero did a great job of getting us through traffic. He was engaging took pictures for us and very knowledgeable about the areas we went through. Afterward he gave us a map with our course rousted out so we could find some of the restaurants we saw.

We really enjoyed this tour of Rome by bike. In a short time it allowed us to have a good overview and to discover unusual places where we would never have gone
Sehr netter und kompetenter Führer, sichere Fahrräder, und unsere Wünsche würden berücksichtigt. Einfach rundum klasse!!!
We booked the really great tour on April 25 as a foursome. Arthur is a real Rome expert. He showed us the best sneak routes through the old town of Rome and gave us very extensive hints on the history of Rome. We were all absolutely thrilled! It was really worth it! Highly recommended!
Extremely great tour!!! We had a private tour in German with our guide Arturo. He knows every corner, every innkeeper and has good historical knowledge. In summary: again and again and a real recommendation for exploring Rome. Greetings to the entire team around Leo
We met with our guide "Artur" in the Rex-Tours office and were equipped with very good bikes and helmets. After a short tour discussion, what we would like to see, the tour through the evening Rome away from the tourist streams to the spectacular sights also started already. It was breathtaking, very fun and you learned a lot about the history of Rome. Arthur knows how to convey this story to you without it becoming boring. A short stop at a cocktail bar known only to the young Romans was a good opportunity to recharge your batteries. The tour ended after just over 4 hours and was a complete success at the beginning of the holiday. Finally, Arthur must be praised once again for his excellent work. Thank you very much for this
After a warm, humorous reception by Leo, we set off, in pairs, crisscrossing Rome - always nicely following Artur, who complimented the people in front of us lovably to the side and told us really everything about HIS city in driving, sitting and standing. Entertaining, funny, informative, human – it was simply awesome and the constant encounters with the “Aboriginals”, who probably all know him personally, gave him another special touch. The fact that it finally became a very personal evening is almost logical to me now - mille grazie also for Desolate the next day to see the countless bicycle sightseeing tourists who were stalking and parked after their guides in fifteen. If you really want to experience something unique, you can’t avoid Artur, who grew up in Rome’s center. We will come back, I promise,
