We had such a great time with our guide Alessio on the Vespa! It was the best experience - you see so much and you are so close to everything. Even the tickets to the Fontana di Trevi and the Pantheon were included. And we had great ice cream! ;-) My daughter (11 years old) and I really enjoyed the tour and can absolutely recommend!

Itinerary
Designed during the urban redevelopment undertaken after Rome was declared capital of Italy, the Piazza della Repubblica is one of the most important squares of the city, and extremely striking. The Piazza della Repubblica is made up of a large roundabout with an exquisite fountain, Fontana delle Naiadi, surrounded by imposing buildings on one side and a seemingly demolished temple on the other.
The Quirinal Palace (known in Italian as the Palazzo del Quirinale or simply Quirinale) is a historic building in Rome, Italy, one of the three current official residences of the President of the Italian Republic, together with Villa Rosebery in Naples and Tenuta di Castelporziano in Rome. It is located on the Quirinal Hill, the highest of the seven hills of Rome in an area colloquially called Monte Cavallo. It has housed thirty Popes, four Kings of Italy and twelve presidents of the Italian Republic.
Trevi Fountain is the most beautiful fountain in Rome. Measuring some 20 meters in width by 26 meters in height, Trevi Fountain is also the largest fountain in the city. The origins of the fountain go back to the year 19 B.C., in which period the fountain formed the end of the Aqua Virgo aqueduct. The first fountain was built during the Renaissance, under the direction of Pope Nicholas V. The final appearance of the Trevi Fountain dates from 1762, when after many years of works at the hand of Nicola Salvi, it was finalized by Giuseppe Pannini. Interestingly enough, the name of Trevi derives from Tre Vie (three ways), since the fountain was the meeting point of three streets.
The Pantheon of Agrippa, also known as the Roman Pantheon, is one of the architectural masterpieces of the Italian capital. It is the best preserved building from ancient Rome. Completed in 126AD, was a Roman temple with a surprising oculus that is the building's main source of natural light.
Piazza Navona is one of Rome’s most iconic and vibrant squares, built on the site of an ancient Roman stadium. Known for its stunning Baroque architecture, lively atmosphere, and beautiful fountains—including Bernini’s famous Fountain of the Four Rivers.
St Peter’s Square or Piazza San Pietro is probably one of the world’s most famous squares and one of the most breath-taking. It is located in Vatican City, at the feet of St. Peter's Basilica. Designed by Bernini during the seventeenth century, it houses over 300,000 people.
Janiculum Hill, considered by many as the eighth hill of Rome, is a peaceful and refreshing attraction close to the city center. It's situated just outside the ancient city and is a great place to visit to get away from the bustle of Rome. Not to mention that the panorama from the top of the hill is breath-taking. As you walk up its pathways, you'll enjoy superb views of the city. Janiculum became very popular due to the important historical role that it played in the defence of the city. Becoming the setting for the battle in which Garibaldi repelled an attack from French troops, its paths are full of sculptures of the heroes, including Giuseppe Garibaldi.
Soak up the neighbourhood’s bohemian atmosphere and its numerous landmarks. You'll enjoy a drive through the authentic soul of Rome's alleys and typical trattorias, passing by the picturesque Jewish Ghetto.
Inaugurated in 1911 to pay respect to Victor Emmanuel II, the Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele II (Altare della Patria) is an imposing building located in Piazza Venezia. It provides some breath-taking views of Rome. The Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele was inaugurated in 1911 as a tribute to Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of Italy after the country's unification. Inside the building is the Institute for the History of the Italian Risorgimento and the Central Museum of the Risorgimento. Since 1921, the Victor Emmanuel Monument holds the tomb of the unknown soldier, a place in which the eternal flame shines and which is always guarded by two soldiers.
Known as the Flavian Amphitheatre, the Roman Colosseum is one of the capital's most remarkable monuments. Every year over 6 million people visit it. The Colosseum is the main symbol of Rome. It is an imposing construction that, with almost 2,000 years of history, will bring you back in time to discover the way of life in the Roman Empire.
The Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore is an ancient Catholic basilica that is considered to be the largest of the churches dedicated to the Virgin Mary in Rome. It is one of the city’s four major basilicas.

One of the absolute highlights of our trip to Rome! The Vespa sidecar tour was an incredibly fun and unique way to see so much of this amazing city in just a few hours. Riding through Rome’s charming streets felt like stepping into a classic Italian movie. The tour included access to both the lower level of the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon, a delicious gelato stop, and, most importantly, a fantastic guide who brought Rome’s history to life with engaging stories and insights throughout the journey. We always felt completely safe, even while navigating Rome’s famously narrow and bustling streets. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. In fact, I would suggest doing it early in your trip, as it gives you a wonderful overview of the city, helps you discover places you’ll want to revisit, and makes the rest of your stay in Rome even more enjoyable. A truly unforgettable experience!
Great experience. Be prepared to be oohed and ahhhed at during the tour. People love the Vespas! Front of the line passes were great! Good overview of Rome if you don’t have days to spend here.
This is a MUST DO experience in Rome! It is unique, fun and you get to see such a big cross section of the sights of Rome from a funky Vespa side-car. The guides were engaging and informative! I can thoroughly recommend this experience with high confidence! 10/10
This tour is an amazing way to see Rome! This was the second time my husband and I did this tour. This time we brought friends who were seei mg Rome for the first time. They loved it as much as we did! Our guide Barbara was a wealth of knowledge and all the Vespa drivers were terrific! Don’t miss this if you’re looking for a fun way to see all the sights of Rome!
The sidecar tour was an excellent way to explore Rome. It was fun and the commentary was excellent . We felt safe and it enabled us to jump the queues at some sites and to see a lot more in a short time than we would have by ourselves
The BEST tour we have ever done. Alessio was outstanding as a tour guide and kept us captivated from start to end. The gelato was a highlight but he was the real gem of the day. HIGHLY recommend
Such a fun and enjoyable way to explore the city’s highlights. Our guides were all friendly, helpful, and welcoming to our little pup. The length of the tour was ideal and moved at a good pace. We didn’t feel rushed and yet moved around the crowds with ease and efficiency. The service was great; we were offered helmet liners, bottled water, and scarves to cover bare shoulders when entering the church. The guides were expertly prepared. The gelato, included, with the tour, was a nice treat, as well. Overall, a pleasant and positive experience. Definitely recommended!
For the longest time, I wanted to feel like Audrey Hepburn when she was riding on a Vespa in the movie "Roman Holiday" filmed in Rome in the 1950s. My cultural tour with Alessio was everything I wanted it to be. Alessio's extensive knowledge brought Rome's history to life. He was so proud to make a difference in my Vespa experience. Drivers Ivano and Fulvio should also be mentioned. All three worked together as a team and it did not go unnoticed. The tour gave me such a happy break from the crazies of life.
I would recommend Vespa Side Car tours to EVERYONE traveling to Rome! This tour would be especially great for those who are not spending a lot of time in Rome but would still like to see all of the “must see” spots. Claudio was an AMAZING guide and truly enjoyed showing us around Rome. I didn’t even realize we had tickets to go into the Pantheon, which were included in the tour, as well as being able to go to right up to the front of the Trevi fountain. Claudio took all of our pictures and explained the history of Rome very well. This tour exceeded all of our expectations and we will always remember how much fun we had!!!
We had an exciting and wonderful time during our tour. It was an ideal way to have a first start in Rome. Our guide gave us a very complete explanation of the Pantheon, Fontana de Trevi and many tips that made our trip unforgettable
What a fantastic time we had on this tour yesterday afternoon. Our driver, Lorenzo, was so patient with two less nimble older ladies and we felt young again as we travelled round Rome in this exciting transport. The leader and the guide were professional and charming and could not have been more attentive. The guide took us to the head of the queues at the Trevi fountain and the Pantheon and told us so much information. It was quite amazing how much he knew. At one point we were all given a bottle of water to drink and we had a gelato stop. Truly a lovely day and to be recommended for anyone of any age!!!
Unforgettable experience seeing Rome on the Vespas. The team were so friendly & helpful with lots of knowledge shared by earphones as we rode around. Up there with a top highlight of our trip. Many thanks guys!
The Vespa tour was fantastic. The experience of an open air, close to the road was really great. Andrea was our tour guide and he was extremely knowledgeable and very good 👍. I highly recommend this tour, and make sure you get Andrea.
The Vespa tour was a great way to get introduced to Rome - and included tickets to the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon plus gelato. Matteo was a great and knowledgeable guide (and driver). It was fun to explore alleys and back streets while seeing most of Rome’s best sights. My wife and I swapped riding in the Sidecar or behind the driver on each stop.
Had the best time with the staff at Vespa Sidecar Tour! Everyone was so knowledgeable and friendly. It was a perfect mix of driving through the streets and making stops at the sites. Would 100% recommend for anyone coming to Rome!
The tour was amazing - Claudio was an incredible tour guide, photographer, and serenader! Matteo and Sam were our capable drivers. A perfect way to see Rome. Informative and fun.
Amazing trip in sidecar, plus ice cream was delicious!! Very friendly and knowledgeable guides , highly recommend ☺️
A great way to see Rome. Fantastic afternoon with a knowledgeable and accommodating guide who was happy to answer questions. This was my 2nd trip and still learnt new stuff. I highly recommend the tour
Carlo was a fabulous Tour Guide and driver. He gave me some background in history about the different sites that we stopped at. He also gave me some time to explore on my own. He really personalized my experience. He has a great personality and disposition. Loved him!
We spent 10 days in Italy with our 4 kids ranging from 17 to 7 and this was by far the most fun experience we had. Our tour guide Matteo was fantastic - of course knowledgable but more importantly so full of joy (greeting friends everywhere we went), considerate of needs of all our kids (hard to do with the large age range) , and for me, at least, above all else - he took fantastic pictures for us along the way. Its hard for our family of 6 to get pics all together and he knew all the best spots and nailed the shot every time. You get VIP , skip the line treatement at the Tivoli fountain, Pantheon, etc which makes the whole expereience so smooth.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience! Our guide, Barbara, was absolutely incredible, and we learned so much about Rome. We booked a private tour for my husband, our three children (ages 10, 8, and 5), and me, and every single one of us was engaged the entire time. Barbara made us feel so comfortable and brought the city to life in a way that kept even the kids interested. This was such a wonderful way to see Rome. Because we were on Vespas, we were able to explore charming alleyways and cover so much more of the city than we ever could have on foot. It was also incredibly hot during our visit, and I honestly can’t imagine doing any other type of tour that day. The cooling mist on the vests was such a thoughtful touch and made a huge difference! I would not hesitate to book this tour again and hope to do the night tour the next time we stay in Rome. Thank you for an unforgettable day!
This was our second Vespa Sidecar tour in Rome with this company - the first was a morning ride with friends and the most recent was an afternoon ride with our two grandsons. It was just as wonderful the 2nd time as it was the first. Our two drivers picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel and made sure we were completely comfortable on what was an extremely hot and sunny afternoon. They had an ample supply of bottled water and a misting bottle that they frequently sprayed us with to help us keep as cool as we could be. They had tickets for the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon and they even gave us coins for the Trevi Fountain! The lead guide was extremely knowledgeable about all the sites in and around Rome that we passed by or stopped at (the Pantheon was a special treat!). They also took loads of pictures and videos of us enjoying the sites. They even took some where we posed as if we were "driving" the bikes. This was a marvelous experience both times we've done it, and we wouldn't hesitate to do it a third time with this company or recommend it to all of our friends and fellow travelers.
Our family of 4 just completed the best tour of our whole Europe trip. A friend told us it was a must do, and it totally was! We had fun taking turns in the side cars. Our drivers had great energy and kindness even on the hottest afternoon ever. The little gelato spot was the best we have tried, and the knowledge our guide gave was fantastic. We learned so much about the city and now have some great places to keep exploring with the rest of our trip. Plus it was so fun and helped manage the temps even in the heat. I felt sad for the poor golf cart tour kids by comparison as we zoomed around. As a family, it was also great to get so many family pictures instead of the squished family selfie or the everyone but mom picture. Absolutely a must do with this group. They are fantastic and so much fun!
This was the most fun thing we did during our week in Rome! Don’t miss it. We booked the private Vespa tour for a family of 3. I’ve always had a fear of motorcycles, but felt very safe as our professional drivers navigated all the roads and stops. Monica was our guide; she was this tiny Italian lady with an over the top infectious personality - she had us laughing and enjoying the entire trip. We visited all the Rome highlights and made many stops - at an city overlook, to go in the Parthenon, to see the Trevi Fountain (Monica even gave us a coin to through in as she explained the custom.) We were given an earpiece that fits under the helmets so Monica could navigate our entire tour - we learned so much! Even our 14 year old daughter wanted to spend more time with Monica (when you’ve entertained and caught the imagination of a teenager, you are really amazing - thank you Monica!). We also stopped at a delicious gelato place for a snack; they had cold bottles of water for us on the Vespas. Thank you Vespa Sidecar Tours and Monica for the perfect day!! I will be recommending this to everyone I know who visits Rome!
Worth it! We had a lot of fun. You will be sharing a Vespa with another passenger and the sidecar is more fun to sit in, but sitting behind the driver is still fun. The gelato spot was so, so good. You get enough time to take pictures at the hot spots. It was a great way to see Rome.
This was a great tour - highly recommend. Our family of three enjoyed it! Felt safe & cared for, the guides are very knowledgeable and passionate about the history & making sure you have a great time. They tailored the itinerary to ensure we saw things we hadn’t yet seen. 10/10 recommend. Thank you!
This was one of the most unique and memorable experiences of our trip! Riding through Rome in a vintage Vespa sidecar was such a fun way to see the city, especially in the afternoon when everything was full of life. Our guide was fantastic and took us to so many of Rome's iconic landmarks, including the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, St. Peter's Square, Trastevere, and breathtaking viewpoints overlooking the city. We loved being able to cover so much ground while learning interesting facts and stopping for photos along the way. The gourmet gelato was the perfect treat to end the tour. If you're looking for a sightseeing experience that's different from a traditional walking tour, this is it. It was fun, exciting, and one of the highlights of our time in Rome!
This tour is so much fun!! It’s very well organized, super fun and you get to see so many major spots in Rome. This was my fifth visit to Rome and I still loved seeing all the sites on a Vespa!
It was a fun way for my family to be introduced to Rome on their first visit. We saw more of the city than on foot. A bit expensive, but it is something the family will remember vs typical walking tours. It was a warm day and the stop for gelato was perfect. I selected this tour because it is a longer tour and included stops at Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. If you want something different, the Vespa Sidecar tour is definitely something to consider. Very good guide ( Mateo) and sidecar driver (Stefano).
Amazing!!! You gotta do it! It was a highlight. It made our trip to Rome. We will be back for sure!!
Fabulous tour, got to see everything we wanted too and then plan what we want to go back too, Great guides with super knowledge. Really enjoyed it and would highly recommend.
Wow. Fantastic experience. Would highly recommend to all. Great way to see the city and wonderful commentary by Marina. Romano was an excellent driver and great fun to be with
Alesia, Alex and the team were great. It was beyond our expectations and would recommend this to anyone. Saw all the highlights of Rome and definitely felt like celebrities for 3 hours.
I can’t fault this experience, it is a fantastic way to see and learn about Rome and Roman history. Our guide Luca was exceptionally informative, humorous and very relaxed. The vespers are in excellent condition and we were well looked after. Imho this is a must do experience for first time visitors to Rome.
Amazing time Lorenzo was the best driver!
If you want an overview of Rome presented in a fantastic way, make sure you take the Vespa gelato tour. We had a wonderful guide who explained everything about Rome and the surrounding areas. The sidecars grab everyone’s attention as we drove past. Easy to get around on the Vespa’s and didn’t waste any time!
Me and my two friends went on the Vespa afternoon tour and it was AMAZING!! Alesio and Sam were our drivers and they were just so lovely and friendly and knowledgeable. It was truly the best way to see the highlights of Rome ( and we felt like celebrities for a few hours). The vespas are also the prettiest colours if you’re after insta experience, and the complementary gelato was delicious. We would 100% do this again, thank you so much!! 🥰🥰🥰
Had a fantastic day out in the Vespa Sidecar, seeing all of the main tourist attractions without feeling rushed. Very exhilarating and always felt safe along the journey. Highly recommend!
We LOVED the Vespa Sidecar tour with Alessio and Maximo, etc. It has been the most fun of our Italy trip so far and this is day 8. We returned to our group and they were so envious when we told them about it and showed our pictures. We felt safe, respected and appreciated.
It’s a must for getting around to see where key sights are and what you might want to return to or not. Because of the cobblestones travelers should be prepared for a few bumps in the road. Alessio and Maximo were terrific drivers and so much fun. We felt safe, appreciated and loved it. We returned to our group and told them all about it and they were jealous.
I had to write and thank you for what was hands down the most magical afternoon we’ve had in Rome. The Vespa sidecar tour wasn’t just a tour, it was the highlight of our entire trip for my sons. Matteo and Massimo, plus your other two brilliant guides, I’m so sorry I’ve blanked on names, were exceptional. Knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely hospitable in a way that felt like being welcomed by family. My youngest, Noah, is still talking about his driver. Quote: “He was the best.” One of my favorite parts? Watching the faces of people on the street light up as we zipped by. Your team spreads joy everywhere you go. Please pass my warmest thanks to the whole crew. You’ve given us a core memory.
The tour was simply indescribable! An essential experience to see Rome from a different perspective, passing through the city’s main landmarks in a light, dynamic, and very fun way. We also had exclusive access through the agency, which made everything even more special. As a point for improvement, we suggest just two adjustments: initially, we had a bit of difficulty locating the exact Vespa meeting point. Perhaps including a clear photo of the location with visual references would help a lot — especially for foreigners. Additionally, it would be excellent to offer the tour in Portuguese as well. Overall, we are extremely satisfied and highly recommend it!
Absolute highlight of our trip. My 14 year old son who is going through the ‘everything is meh’ phase absolutely loved it. Would absolutely recommend.
This was the absolute highlight of our recent trip to Rome! Our tour guide was excellent and we saw parts of the city that we would have missed otherwise. Highly recommend!
What can I say ? This is the second time we have done the Vespa tour with Vespa side cars and it did not disappoint. There’s nothing quite like whizzing through the cobbled streets of Rome in a Vespa, taking in sights that are absolutely breath taking. Our guide was fantastic and very engaging, even my 9 year old son was captivated by the tales of Ancient Rome. I can not recommend this tour highly enough, an incredible way to spend 3 hours in the eternal city.
Our family loved our tour with Vespa Sidecar. It was such a unique way to see the city and see a lot of it in a short time. We felt like celebrities as people were taking photos of us the entire trip. The gelato place we stopped at was the best gelato we had of our trip to an Italy, and our guide, Matteo, gave us a bunch of other great recommendations. We would certainly book this again!
What a fun way to see Rome. Our guide Luca was excellent. He was amusing and informative without being over complicated. The drivers were very attentive, safe and courteous. Blankets and hot water bottles were much appreciated in the late afternoon. The whole trip reminded me of “The Italian Job” bizarrely.
Best tour in Rome! Covered so much ground and the drivers and guide (Monica) were so knowledgeable and courteous. The parade of Vespa sidecars got so much attention going thru the streets—so much fun and cool!
I'll make this short, as words aren't enough... Experience: Fantastic. A million times better than a bus sight-seeing tour Price: Priceless- you can't put a price on this tour. It will always be remembered Duration: Just right Atmosphere: Unbeatable Staff: World-class. Alessio was perfetto (perfect). Very entertaining and knowledgeable. Always made us feel safe and well looked after. We're already looking forward to our next Rome trip and will be sure to book the tour again. The Gelato was great too!
